Blaine's fallen silent. Kurt gives up sleeping and sits up. Reaches for more paper to busy his hands. Maybe he remembers how to fold a crane.
"So... why didn't I know you like bears?" he ventures lightly, fumbling for a thread of friendship, understanding.
Blaine huffs dismissively. "I like being with someone who wants me around and demonstrates it."
"Ouch?"
"Dave appreciates who I am and what I do."
"Only as far as you let him know you."
"You knew me much better of course."
"You still hid from me sometimes."
"Yes."
"You don't think I'm safe?"
"Kurt. You weren't."
