Monika coughs as she stands from the metal catwalk, confused as to why she wasn’t dead. She’d deleted herself. She’d deleted everything. She remembers that much. Maybe her escape protocol had worked belatedly, and she wasn’t in her game anymore.
She looks around her to see that she’s in some sort of sinkhole, with a glowing yellow pit below her and numerous catwalks and ridges extending up from it. It’s really hot, too. Monika taps the air, glowing keys appearing beneath her fingertips until a mini-climate appears around her, and she immediately feels more comfortable.
A loud crack erupts behind her, and she whirls around to see a mortifying robot rising up from the pit on large tentacles. The robot is human-like, but has the creepiest face of all time.
It’s Cyn, host of the Absolute Solver. She teleports over to Monika and reaches her tentacles toward her. “Let’s eat!”
READY…
FIGHT!
Monika warps backward and opens her hand, tiny glyphs appearing around her fingers, until she’s suddenly wearing gloves with sharp metal spikes on the knuckles. Cyn teleports behind her and throws a punch, but Monika blocks it with her spiked fist and uppercuts Cyn skyward. She teleports into the air and materializes a massive spear, hurling it down at Cyn.
“Grab. Melt.” Cyn catches it telekinetically and turns it into melted goop, flying toward Monika with her arms outstretched. Monika blocks her with a holo-shield and teleports back to the ground, then puts the holo-shield behind her without even looking, blocking another dash from Cyn. Cyn reaches forward and tries to grab Monika with her Solver powers, but the glyph glitches out and shatters, and Monika grins sadistically at Cyn as the latter realizes her powers don’t directly work on her. “Oh, [glitching]” Cyn says as her profanity filter activates.
Holding one hand behind her back, Monika sweeps her hand in an arc over her head, creating a row of missiles around her. With a dramatic flourish, she throws them all at Cyn. Cyn teleports behind her, but Monika warps aside and makes a boxing fist punch Cyn into the missiles.
BOOOOM!
As the smoke clears, Monika steps toward the prone Cyn. “So sad. You thought I was that easy of a target?”
She kneels down and presses a glowing DELETE button. “Nothing will keep me from being with—”
She stops as she realizes that she didn’t delete Cyn. She futilely presses the button again, but Cyn reaches over and grabs her wrist, then looks up at her with her tongue hanging out. “You stupid idiot.”
Monika warps backward and reaches down to the pit with her powers, pulling a dripping yellow glob of radioactive acid up from it. She reshapes it into a beam and fires it at Cyn.
“Limbo. Skitter.” Cyn leans back under the beam of acid and clambers onto the underside of the catwalk with her tentacles, pounding each panel into the air. Monika glitches a platform into existence next to her and jumps onto it as Cyn reaches for her panel. She teleports onto a ridge of solid ground and whips her head back and forth to find Cyn.
“Jumpscare.”
Monika’s head flashes up a second too late as Cyn crashes onto her from above, sending them both through the ground and toward the planet’s exposed core. The two warp back and forth several times as they fall, punching and kicking each other as they go. Finally, Monika fakes a warp and teleports above Cyn, materializing a massive waterfall and pouring it on the robot, forcing her down into the acid.
Cyn reaches a hand up as she sinks, and Monika grins as she stands on a floating platform of her own making. Suddenly, a glyph appears around Cyn’s hand, flipping the platform and throwing Monika into the water.
“Zap.”
Cyn sticks her EMP hand into the waterfall.
KRAA-AAAK-BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Uzi and N land on the catwalk above the pit. “Cyn!” Uzi yells. “Quit hiding and come get murdered!”
Cyn teleports onto the catwalk, glitching between the appearances of two girls. She can’t decide whether to be the girl she killed so long ago, or the one she just killed.
She decides to go with Monika’s appearance, although she adds her… personal touch. Namely, the empty eyes with glowing yellow X’s and wide grin.
That would do very nicely.
