Chapter Text
The Master of Time’s clock tower of Long Now had not seen even a brief moment of silence since the two halfa heroes of Phantom and Catalyst arrived and began to (half) live within its walls.
Granted it was never really silent even before then with the Observants barging in whenever they deemed necessary to annoy Clockwork, but it had definitely upped the volume levels a decent decibel or two with both Danny and Adrien present.
Daniel James Nightingale (as he’d long since forgone the Fenton name after what was a rather nasty reveal with his so called ‘parents’ of Maddie and Jack Fenton) and Adrien Alexander Agreste (despite his father being a magical terrorist who attacked his own son on the daily because said son was a superhero as well as emotionally abusive towards his son’s civilian identity, the name was kept if only because the teen boy secretly planned on taking his boyfriend’s name after their marriage much later down the line) had been residing in the tower of Long Now for roughly two and a half weeks; at least, that’s how long they think they’ve been there since they returned from Adrien’s home dimension after defeating Monarch. Time is a difficult concept to understand when one lives outside of it, let alone difficult to count.
As of now there were only two members in the League of Inter-Dimensionals, though that was planned to change soon.
The League of the Inter-Dimensionals had been created by Clockwork with Phantom (aka Danny) as the second founding member along with the first hero in the squad.
The goal of the league was to recruit isolated teen heroes from numerous dimensions who’ve been let down in the past and bring them together to deal with threats from all across different universes.
It had started with the half ghost, half human hybrid of Danny Phantom (aka Daniel ‘Danny’ Nightingale), then the Miraculous Holder slash new halfa Chat Noir now known as Catalyst (aka Adrien Agreste).
And now it was time for the third—and fourth, though only the Master of Time knew that as of right now—member to join.
“A wizard?” Adrien asked, his human form wearing the glorious invention of sweatpants and a baggy Ember McLain t-shirt that had one hundred percent been shamelessly stolen from his boyfriend’s closet, “Wait, wizards exist?”
Danny snorted, the black haired teen was also in his human form and adorning baggy jeans and a navy blue NASA t-shirt over a white long sleeved top, “I’m half dead and you were created a halfa by the embodiment of the afterlife giving the eldritch god of Time a core she forged for you and even before then you were a magical French catboy superhero, and magical wizards and a wizarding world are where you draw the line?”
Adrien flushed, “It sounds bad when you put it like that—hey wait a minute, I was not a cat boy!”
“You absolutely were a cat boy,” Danny snorted before pressing a kiss against his boyfriend’s cheek, “But it was adorable, so it’s okay,”
“I don’t really care what you two deem insane or not or what crosses your imaginary lines or what doesn’t,” Clockwork shifted into an older form, usually doing that to signal to the boys just how much they were ‘aging’ him with their squabbling, “So if you two are done, I’d like to continue telling you about your mission,”
The two teens shut up after that.
“As I was saying,” Clockwork huffed before waving his staff and conjuring up a circular shaped viewing portal, showing the two halfas an image of a teen around fifteen with shaggy brown and and a lightning scar on his forehead, “The next mission is in Timeline two hundred seventy three dash ‘W’ point ninety eight. Better known as the Wizarding World Timeline, where you two will pose as students at a magical school to recruit this young man right here, Harry James Potter,”
“So he’s the orphan wizard destined to defeat the Dark Lord?” Danny raised an eyebrow, “Didn’t you tell me about him about a year ago?”
“Yes,”
“Why did you tell me about him back then?"
“Sometimes I get chatty,” Clockwork shrugged before continuing on, “The headmaster of the school, Hogwarts—don’t laugh, Adrien,”
Catalyst protested loudly, “I wasn’t going to laugh!”
“Yes you were,” Danny deadpanned.
“Yes I was,”
“As I was saying,” The master of Time shot them both a glare, “The headmaster, Dumbledore, is leading Harry on like a lamb to the slaughter, so be wary of him as well as a woman called Umbridge, but you’ll learn that soon enough. I will tell you the rest of the details once Harry is recruited, are you ready?”
“Wait,” Danny blinked, “We’re leaving now?”
“Yes,” Clockwork said simply as he snapped his fingers and two suitcases appeared at Adrien’s and Danny’s feet, “Have fun, don’t destroy the world or worlds, don’t set anything on fire or drown anything, and for the love of the Ancients try not to make anymore enemies while your at it,”
“So I’m hearing don’t have any fun,” Adrien joked as he summoned the pale black rings around his waist to transform into Catalyst while Danny turned into Phantom.
“If it gets the point across, then yes. Don’t have any fun,”
“Boring,” Phantom groaned as Clockwork opened up a transportation portal in front of the two teens, “See ya, Clocksy,”
“Bye, Tick-Tock!” Adrien waved.
“I hate you both,” Clockwork replied.
“No you don’t, we’re your gremlins of chaos!”
“You two are my eternal damnation, more like it,”
“You love us! Who would annoy the Observants with you if not for us?”
“Goodbye boys,” The Master of Time emphasized as the two began to walk through the portal, “Oh, and Catalyst?”
Adrien turned, “Yeah?”
Clockwork’s lips twitched upwards into a smile, “You were very much a cat boy,”
The halfa of destruction groaned as his boyfriend, the halfa of balance, laughed as the two of them ventured fully into the portal.
