Chapter Text
In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman, crafted by Zeus as punishment for mankind after Prometheus stole fire from the heavens. Her name meant “the one who holds all gifts”, a blessing wrapped in a curse.
When humanity stumbled upon her again, drifting in the void between 2050 and 2077, the name felt less like coincidence and more like prophecy.
Pandora.
The fifth moon of Polyphemus, a gas giant orbiting Alpha Centauri, 4.4 light-years from Earth. A lush, savage Eden, beautiful but armed to the teeth. Its riches promised salvation. Its beauty whispered redemption.
But every box hides secrets better left unopened.
A century and change ago, Earth was dying. Oceans poisoned, skies unbreathable, cities turned into concrete tombs. Desperate eyes turned outward, not as explorers but as looters.
The prize? Unobtanium. A mineral worth more than gold, capable of saving billions or dooming them.
On Earth, they had been soldiers fighting for freedom. On Pandora, they were mercenaries guarding profits. The RDA’s Security Operations, a corporate-funded paramilitary machine, built their fortress. Alongside them, the Science Division: researchers dissecting Pandora’s lifeforms, trying to turn alien biology into Earth’s next big product line.
The forests held dangers beyond imagination. But the deadliest thing about Pandora was simple: you could fall in love with it. Forget where you came from. Switch sides.
Fifteen years ago, blood soaked the sacred ground.
The war between humans and Na’vi wasn’t just a battle; it was a near massacre. The Na’vi fought for existence. The humans, for money and survival. And at the center of it all stood a man who betrayed his own species.
Jake Sully.
A paraplegic Marine who became Toruk Makto, rider of the last shadow, uniter of clans. He led the Na’vi against his own kind, driving the invaders back to their dying world.
Only a handful were allowed to stay: scientists who had proven their respect for Eywa and the Na’vi. The time of great sorrow ended. Peace returned to the forests.
Toruk Makto was no longer needed.
Or so everyone thought.
Because in the shadows beyond the stars, something was stirring. Signals whispered across the void. Ships were being readied. Plans drawn.
The Box of Pandora had been sealed with blood.
And someone was about to open it again.
