Work Text:
"This is stupid," Hyde growls, tripping over his feet for what felt like the hundreth time, "why would I ever even need to know this?! I'm not off getting fancy with the Queen of England every night!"
"Oh, shush-" Robert scoffs with amusement, "you're just being dramatic. Really, if you stopped being so snappy with me, you'd be just fine." He listens to the smaller man audibly scowl before gently tacking on, "I'm sure you're just a natural as Jekyll is."
The unlikely pair stood in the middle of the office. It'd taken a while to finally clean out the glass shards and spilled vials out of the wooden floor boards- they really needed to be thorough, from how unfavorable the idea of mystery liquids and invisible threats underneath your feet at all times was. But once it was all said and done with.. there wasn't much more than an awkward, uncomfortable silence. Uncomfortable for the fresh mess that Hyde had become since yesterday, anyhow. It wasn't surprising with the meltdown of his size.
So Robert decided to host a little distraction.
Despite Hyde's firstly sputtered refusals, it didn't take much to convince him. Being left to the merciless devices of his own thoughts, after all, didn't make his usual bliss of ignorance the normally easier option.
So, here they were- waltzing. Just like those old times that left a sickeningly sweet sap behind in Hyde's currently singular heart. Of course, with how long he'd actively chosen to try and latch off of such repressed memories, he hadn't really remembered much, connection to Jekyll be damned.
"Would it be easier if I led-?"
"No!" Hyde instantly snaps, "I don't need you to lead me like I'm one of your little damsels in distress!"
Robert rolls his eyes as Hyde continues to look down at their feet. He honestly meant it as a sort of tease to the dirty blonde, but his harsh response now made him want to return the fiest.
