Higher Plane

Summary:

“This won’t change anything, Nai,” Vash says as he blushes all the way down to his chest. “You know that.”

“Perhaps not,” Nai hums as he lowers himself down on the bed, kneeing his way to Vash and taking his place atop him. “But if nothing else, at least we can share these sweet dreams… right, brother?”

Vash runs and Nai chases him, all the way into his dreams.

Notes:

So I started this in 2023 after Stampede, forgot about it, remembered it this past week as I drowned in agony over Stargaze, and then I finished it 🤣 I’m working on a longer fixit fic for Stargaze but for now, here’s a pile of filth. Thanks for reading 🙏🏻

Work Text:

“Vaaaash…”

Vash grits his teeth, fighting the shiver that claws down his spine and the heat that pools in his gut. His struggle is all for nothing and he knows it - it’s the same story every night when he closes his eyes and exhaustion takes over, no matter how hard he fights and resists.

Nai is always there. Always waiting. Always tempting his twin with a false but lush, titillating paradise.

Tonight it’s a garden. It usually is, Vash thinks as he lies in a field of red geraniums and lets the sweet, earthy scent tickle his nose. Nai knows what Vash likes, what his favorite color is, his emotional connection to Rem’s flowers, even if he thinks it’s insignificant and stupid. It doesn’t matter. Nai will use every tool in his arsenal to persuade Vash.

Vash…

Nai’s voice is all around him, coming from not one direction but all of them, and it makes Vash’s heart race. His anxiety is laced with anticipation and it’s impossible to tell which is stronger, his desire to flee and escape this dreamscape or his desire to sink into it and let it take him away.

Regardless, Vash protests because who is he if not a fighter, especially when it comes to his brother?

“Not tonight, Nai,” he whispers into the cool, richly oxygenated air. “Please…”

Nai’s responding chuckle reverberates through Vash’s body, and he shudders.

“You always say that, little brother, but we both know who’ll be begging for more in the end, don’t we?”

Vash knits his brows, balls his hands into fists (both made of flesh here in this false, wishful world), and he sits up and opens his eyes but before he can start fighting back like he intended to, his world spins on its axis and when everything stops swirling, he finds himself lying in a bed. He blinks rapidly to reorient himself but he’s neither surprised nor confused about his new surroundings.

The bed is enormous and covered in white silk. There’s a dusting of ice-blue rose petals throughout it, and they caress Vash’s skin like a hundred soft little kisses. His skin, which is now completely bare, he realizes with a resigned sigh (and, even though he’ll never admit it, a spark of excitement). He reaches down instinctively to grab at the sheets to cover himself, and that’s when he’s suddenly aware of the blunt metal blades binding his arms to the bedpost.

“Silly little brother,” Nai’s voice wafts through the air, this time from a lightly illuminated doorway that Vash’s eyes lock on to. The blades wind a little tighter with a lazy flick of Nai’s wrist, and he grins as he eyes his twin as if he’s a buffet created just for him. Maybe, Vash thinks as he panics a bit, that’s exactly what he is. Maybe that’s what he’s always been.

Vash struggles against his bindings as Nai casually strolls inside as if he has all the time in the world, clearly enjoying watching his prey wriggle in futility. “Let me go,” Vash demands, and Nai simply rolls his eyes and crosses his arms as he stands next to the bed.

“Do you not grow tired of this charade, Vash?” Nai asks gently. “It’s only us in here, you know. No need for pretenses or lies, or attempts to conform to silly human morals. Besides,” Nai’s gaze slips from Vash’s eyes slowly down his body, pointedly lingering at his thighs as they squeezed together, “your body betrays you every time.”

Nai is hovering over him, boxing him in with his arms and legs, blocking out what little light fills the room, and all Vash can see and hear and smell and think is Nai. Their blue eyes lock in a heated stare and Vash fights back a whimper, trying to keep himself in check and remember why this is bad and why he should fight, but it’s almost impossible like this. It’s even harder when Nai licks his full, familiar lips and leans down to drop a soft, barely-there kiss to the beauty mark under Vash’s eye. Then Nai brushes their noses together, their increasingly heavy breaths mingling, and Nai sighs, “It could always be like this, you know.”

No, it can’t, Vash thinks, and because this is a dreamscape, Nai hears him and responds aloud.

“It can and you know it. You only tell yourself otherwise because you’re afraid, but you know it’s true,” Nai says, kissing the corner of Vash’s mouth. “If you gave into me and ruled our paradise at my side… there would be nothing I wouldn’t do for you. No luxury I would deny you.” Vash shudders, images from Nai’s mind flooding his own of the utopia he pictured. “I would treat you like the God-sent angel that you are, Vash, don’t you understand that?”

A tear rolls down Vash’s cheek, surprising them both. Nai’s sweet words are a cruelty like no other when they both know such a life together is impossible. To agree to such a thing would be to sacrifice all of humanity as well as everything that makes Vash who he is, and Vash will die before either thing becomes a reality. Nai is nothing short of a devil to do this to him, to tempt him with sweet impossibilities, but Vash can’t bring himself to hate Nai for it.

He can’t hate Nai no matter what he does.

He gasps when Nai leans down and licks up the tear, humming at the taste. “If you’re going to cry, brother, I’d rather you did it out of pleasure.” Then the weight of him is gone and Nai is sitting back on his heels, and Vash is helpless as he watches Nai wrench his legs open and apart. He spreads Vash open wide, hands under his thighs, and Nai’s grin is nearly manic as he gazes upon Vash’s core.

He’s so wet already that the silk beneath him is soaked, and he’s pulsing with need. He has been since he got here, if he’s being honest, and it’s humiliating because Nai hasn’t even really touched him yet.

“You’re gushing, little brother,” Nai smirks, reaching down and gently sliding a finger down his opening, across the wet little petals that are unfurling more with each touch. Vash’s body blooms for Nai’s touch, opens up and welcomes him in, and Nai revels in it as much as Vash tries to shy away. Nai gets his fingers nice and wet before he rubs at Vash’s clit, gentle and slow, and Vash’s whole body jerks and he lets out a moan against his will.

“Nai,” Vash groans, struggling against the vines still trapping his arms and torn between wanting to run away and wanting to rock into Nai’s touch, to demand more and take more. “Nai, stop -“

“Absolutely not,” Nai chuckles, watching as Vash continues to open up for him, gushing more for him, filling the room with his sweet scent. “What kind of brother would I be if I left you like this? I love you, Vash, and I’m not going to stop until you’re too exhausted to move and so full of my come that you’ll be leaking for days.”

Vash gasps at the words, hips stuttering and almost coming right there, but Nai’s fingers leave his swollen clit and plunge inside of him instead. Vash arches and cries out, clenching around Nai’s two fingers and sucking them in deeper, refusing to be teased or toyed with, and Nai makes a sound of awe above him.

“That’s right, Vash, you see? Your mind is muddled but your body knows exactly what it wants and what it needs. Look at you,” Nai marvels, fucking his fingers in and out of his twin, creating obscenely wet noises that echoed through the room. “So beautiful, so perfect. My sweet Vash.”

Vash is overwhelmed. Sweat is dripping down his flushed body, he’s leaking slick like an animal in heat, and Nai’s fingers are so skilled and so brutal and so - so - good, so good, but not enough, not enough, he needs more, more -

“I’ll give you everything, Vash,” Nai purrs, thumbing Vash’s clit and bringing him to sensory overload. “You already have my everything.”

Vash comes with a choked-off wail, squirting all over Nai’s arm and the bed, vision going white with the force of it. It’s overwhelming and perfect and he has no time to regain his wits before Nai is shifting and spreading his legs open wider and then unceremoniously shoving his face between them, breathing in deeply. Vash jerks and reflexively struggles against his restraints, wanting to reach down and push Nai away out of both embarrassment and overstimulation, but he’s helpless and Nai wouldn’t care anyway. He’s too busy inhaling Vash’s scent like an addict getting their first fix in eons, groaning into Vash’s oversensitive flesh and making his eyes water.

“So good,” Nai says full of reverence, tongue lolling out to start licking up the wetness covering Vash’s thighs, and Vash watches him with his lip caught between his teeth, trying to muffle the noises rising up out of his throat. “So sweet,” Nai continues, his cheeks flushed and most of his face now shiny and slick, and he looks up to make eye contact as he adds, “my beautiful little brother.”

Then he takes a long, indulgent lick straight from the source, and Vash can’t help the moan that rips out of him. Nai makes a deep noise of satisfaction, eyes rolling shut in ecstasy, and then he begins to eat Vash out in earnest like he’ll wither if he doesn’t. Vash is a wreck, thrashing and gasping as tears stream down his face, trembling legs being held open in Nai’s vice grip, and it’s so much. Nai is making animalistic sounds as he feasts, and even though Vash should be used to it by now, he isn’t - he doesn’t understand why anyone would enjoy doing this to him this much, why Nai of all people would, why it feels so damn good when it should repulse him -

You really should get it by now, baby brother,” Nai’s voice echoes through his mind, and it sounds like he has his mouth full even though it’s only in his mind. “You taste divine. Nothing in existence could be sweeter or more satisfying than you.”

Vash cries out and squeezes his eyes shut as Nai seals his lips over his little bud, sucking on it noisily and hungrily, and Vash can feel another orgasm coming on hard and fast. This time he can feel his plant markings glowing as he comes, the air around them turning electric, and Nai moans and drinks up every drop he wrings from Vash, pinning him down and not letting him move until the last wave of pleasure ebbs.

Vash eventually collapses into the silken sheets, panting hard and all but seeing stars as his body twitches all over with little aftershocks. His legs are splayed open, any shame or shyness long gone, and he hates himself for it - hates that he gives in every time, that he doesn’t fight to the end, that when he opens his eyes and sees Nai in front of him hard and bare, his mouth will water and he’ll want nothing more than to surge forward and choke on his brother’s cock.

“Look at me, Vash.”

Vash grimaces, closing his eyes tighter. Nai laughs.

“Come on now. Am I so bad to look at?”

Naiiiii…

A sudden pinch to his hip sends Vash’s eyes flying open, and he yelps at the twinge of pain but stops short as his gaze falls upon his brother. Nai is smirking, kneeling between Vash’s spread legs and radiating the sort of confidence Vash could only dream of, and as Nai’s gate melts away to reveal nothing but naked, unmarred skin, Vash nearly comes again.

“It’s okay to enjoy looking, Vash,” Nai purrs, and Vash’s arms are finally freed from their restraints. “Everything I am is meant for you and your pleasure. I was made to arouse you, little brother.”

“How can you say that so… so easily, like it’s nothing?” Vash asks, rubbing at his numbed arms as feeling slowly creeps back in.

“Because,” Nai replies with a sigh as his tendrils reach out and wrap around Vash’s middle, picking him up and placing him in Nai’s lap, the blades quickly replaced by Nai’s hands, “I accepted our truth years ago, even before the Big Fall. You know that.”

But how, Vash wonders, can Nai be so… free? So completely devoid of an ounce of guilt? He’s so sure of himself, so entirely unapologetic in his sin as if it were nothing, and Vash can’t fathom it. He envies Nai, truth be told, and for a moment he wavers.

It would be so easy.

Nai senses Vash’s moment of weakness and goes in for the kill. He captures Vash’s chin between his fingers and claims Vash’s lips in a deep, filthy kiss, and Vash’s mind floods with images like before of a life in paradise. Vash kisses Nai back, helpless to do anything else but give in, buckling under the weight of his own traitorous desire and the sweet lies invading his mind.

No more pain, Nai tells him telepathically as their tongues slip and slide together. No more scars. No more tears. Just you and me, Vash.

Vash nearly sobs into Nai’s mouth. He wants it so bad. God help him but he does, more than he’s ever wanted anything, and it hurts and it’s wrong and it’s bad and…

… And none of that matters right now. Vash reaches down between them and takes Nai’s hard cock in his hand, shifts his hips and lines them up and sinks down on to his brother without breaking their kiss. He moans rapturously as Nai fills him so perfectly, as if they really are made for each other the way he says, and Vash comes again.

Nai gasps at the way Vash flutters around him, Vash’s head thrown back as he rides out his pleasure, and Vash can feel Nai’s ravenous gaze raking over him. Vash’s mind is deliciously blank and he feels… he feels sexy, powerful, worthy of desire in ways he never does. He’s unsure if it’s Nai pouring those feelings into him and he doesn’t care at all right now, because if this must happen then he will take what he can while he can.

Breathing hard after his third orgasm, Vash looks Nai straight in the eyes and pushes him back. Nai goes down with a victorious grin, murmuring, “Finally. There you are, Vash.”

“Shut up,” Vash growls, hands planted on Nai’s heavy pecs, giving them a greedy squeeze before he starts to rock his hips. “Just shut up, Nai.”

“But you love my voice, don’t you, baby brother?” Nai teases, hands running up and down Vash’s toned, scarred thighs. “The filthier my words, the harder you come.”

Vash quickly builds up a rhythm, ignoring Nai’s teasing and focusing on hitting that spot inside of himself as he bounced on his twin’s dick. They really do fit like a glove, he thinks to himself as his eyes roll back a little, wishing he could feel like this forever.

You could.

“Stay out of my head, Nai,” Vash grits out, glaring down at him.

“Have you forgotten? All of this is in your head,” Nai grins wickedly. “And yet you invite me in every night.”

“I don’t!” Vash yells, pounding a fist into Nai’s chest and riding him harder, leaning down so that they’re nearly nose to nose. “You force your way in, you make me do this!”

Nai merely grins, hands sliding to Vash’s ass and gripping it with a bruising force. “You could keep me out if you bothered to learn to use your gate. But you don’t, because you want me as much as I want you.”

Tears well in Vash’s eyes. “No I don’t!”

Nai gazes up at him like he hangs all five moons. “You do, sweet brother. That’s why you’re fucking me like your life depends on it right now. That’s why you can’t get enough of me. And that’s why,” he leans up and wraps a hand behind Vash’s neck, pulling him ever closer, “one day this will be real, and you’ll scream my name as I fuck you full of our babies.”

Vashs gasps, feeling Nai come undone right along with him, and all at once, it’s too much. It’s wrong, right, beautiful, grotesque, repugnant and wretched and transcendent, and Vash comes so hard and for so long it hardly feels real. It’s like he’s ascended beyond the only plane of reality he’s ever known, and all there is is peace and ecstasy and the soul-deep feeling of finally being whole and complete.

It doesn’t last. It never does. The crash is inevitable, but for at least a few moments, there is only bliss.

There is only Vash and Nai, as they were meant to be. In moments like these, Vash cannot deny the truth.

Nai cradles Vash to his chest, still buried deep inside of him, and Vash wonders if he could sleep within a dream. He doesn’t need Nai to remind him that if he merely says the word, this dream will become his reality.

“Why do you run from me, Vash?” Nai whispers, running soft fingers along Vash’s back. “Aren’t you tired?”

“… Doesn’t matter.”

“You are the only thing that matters, Vash.”

And that’s just it, isn’t it? The distance between them is insurmountable, but neither of them can stop trying to bridge it anyway. Vash wonders if they really are one soul, split apart violently in the womb and left forever reaching for the other and never quite grasping except in fleeting moments like these.

Vash isn’t sure how much time has passed before he speaks again. “Please stop doing this, Nai.”

Nai hums. “Make me,” he says lightly.

“I will,” Vash replies, but his self-loathing isn’t quite strong enough to believe it yet.

When he wakes up, it will be.

Nai chuckles. “Sure, brother. Rest for now. Allow me to at least give you that.”

Vash closes his eyes and snuggles deeper into Nai’s chest. Nai wraps his gate around them both, and Vash will never admit it, but he has never felt safer than he does now.
