Chapter Text
Shu knew something was wrong before he even stepped up to the stage.
He woke up more irritated than usual, the sun shining through his window had given him a splitting headache that seemed determined to stay for the entire day. His eyes throbbed, red rimmed after a night of tossing and turning. Mika had even scrunched his nose lightly when they met in the practice room to go over some final touches in their choreography. The pink haired’s irritation obviously present in his souring scent. Like wilted roses, Mika had once said.
The small beta knew better than to ask, of course.
It was an unspoken deal between the two. To not speak about Shu’s dreaded secondary gender.
Ever since he was a kid, he had been bullied and picked over for being different. For being too dramatic, too fragile. Too much, and sometimes, for not being enough.
The harassment stopped for a while when Kuro entered his life. He was grateful, of course, Kuro had become a dear friend to him. But sometimes Shu wanted to sneer at the irony. Destiny seemed to mock him, bringing a strong, sweet alpha to save the poor little defenseless omega. Like a knight in shining armor from the fairytale books his beloved Grandfather used to read him before bed.
Omega.
How he loathed that word. The dread and despair he felt clawing at his insides the day he presented still haunted his memories. Every fiber of his being had ached, throbbed, pounded- It seemed endless, the pain, the discomfort. His insides rearrenged for a wretched womb to grow. Between his thighs, disgusting slick flowed like an unbound river. Staining his sheets, his matress. His muted scent bloomed, like a flower rising from beneath melting snow. Sweet, enticing, warm- perfectly omega.
You’ve grown, Shu’s mother had cooed, perfectly manicured nails scratching almost too hard against his scalp, it’s time you start acting like a proper omega.
Shu had failed at that, too.
He was too tall, and it didn’t help he would prefer to wear a bit of a heel every once in a while. His laugh was too boisterous, too loud, eccentric some would call it. He was arrogant, short-tempered. How could any alpha ever put up with him?
Shu didn’t mind. If he was destined to live and die alone, then he was more than happy to welcome death with open arms.
He managed to keep that side of him hidden away like a shameful secret. Patches and supressants had become part of his every day life. Heats were always the worse part. Bounding himself to his room, locked tight. Whining and wailing for a cock to breach him as he rutted against the soiled sheets of a half-built nest. His fingers clenched around his swollen scent gland, nails digging into the skin, desesperate for comfort.
Mika, his precious partner, always stood guard just outside his door. Growling at whoever dared to even think of stepping too close.
The beta had tried to offer help once. Worried sick after hearing the Omega’s sobs through a particularly bad heat.
Shu had almost lunged at him in anger. He growled, standing at his full height with a snarl on his lips. His scent flared with something dangerous.
There was a mix of screaming and name calling, pillows thrown and shed tears. Ended by a slam of the door, leaving Shu alone to pick up the pieces.
Now, the beta entered the room only after Shu’s heats were done. A bag of homemade food in his hand. He would help to clean the dried slick and tears from Shu’s flushed skin. Would let the omega pull him close, never once saying a word. But those mismatched eyes would stare at Shu with something akin to heartache. Only making Shu feel worse.
Maybe, in another life, Shu would think. Mika’s figure fast asleep against his side. I would’ve been good for you.
Shu had survived with this secret for a while, only a few of his closest friends knew about his real designation. To the world, Itsuki Shu was just another beta. He was determined to not succumb to the baser instincts of his secondary gender.
Enter Amagi Rinne.
Their meeting felt mocking at the time. Rinne was everything Shu hated about alphas. Loud, reckless, overly confident. Irritating.
Shu had never met anyone so bold and forward. The alpha flirted with him every chance he got. And his scent— God, his scent. It seemed to cling everywhere. A mix of wood and honey, mostly hidden beneath the stench of beer and cigarette smoke.
No matter, Shu avoided him like the plague. But the alpha seemed to slither in between the cracks of his carefully built plans. His cackling laughter plaguing even the omega’s dreams.
He saw him everywhere. It didn’t help that Rinne was in the same agency. Or that their dorms where quite literally next to each other. Neither the fact that Rinne was now part of the CRAFTMONSTERS circle.
A bee, he thought bitterly, buzzing next to my ear.
Shu’s skin prickled uncomfortably, his scent gland itching. His nails scratched over it, a tired huff leaving his nose. How many times had he messed up the tempo of his choreography?
“Shukkun! Yer all sloppy.”
Speaking of bees.
Violet eyes dragged from the floor to the opened door. His brows furrowing in annoyance.
“Ye don’t look so well.” Rinne added, a hint of concern hidden beneath his teasing expression. The Alpha’s hand reached forwards, pressing the back of it against Shu’s forehead.
A shudder ran down Shu’s spine, his eyes almost fluttering shut, the touch almost like a balm to his troubled mind.
The omega snapped out of it quickly, slapping Rinne’s hand away with a grunt.
“I’m fine.” He hisses, taking a subtle step backwards. “You should focus on your own practice.”
Rinne raised his hands in mock surrender, lips quirking into a side grin.
“I’m already done with it. It’s all ‘bout the improv, Shukkun.” The taller cackles, tucking his hands into his pockets.
Shu let out a heavy sigh, eyes narrowed.
“Well, no wonder your unit’s choreos are always so chaotic.” He reprimands, arms crossed over his chest.
“You call it chaos, I call it havin’ fun. Ever heard of it?” Rinne tilts his head, blue eyes silently studying the tall omega.
“One hour before the show!” A voice called out, some attendants rushing to prepare the final details of the stage.
“Oshi-san! We gotta get dressed!” Mika’s voice piped up among the background chatter. The short beta jogging closer. Tensing when he saw the alpha’s presence and Shu’s pinched expression.
Mika quickly put himself between the two. Round eyes glaring up at Rinne.
“Kagehira—”
“Mii-tan, you act as if going to take a bite of yer precious Oshi-san.” Rinne grinned, the corners of his lips a bit too sharp. The glint of fangs and the twitch of his eyebrow made Shu frown. He could sense the subtle scent of… jealousy?
“Let’s go, Oshi-san.”
Shu was dragged backstage before he could say anything else.
The omega turned to Mika once they were alone, expression filled with confusion.
“What was that, Kagehira?”
“Ngah…” Mika refused to look at him, facing the large vanity mirrors instead.
“Kagehira!”
“God, Oshi-san! Ya can’t be that dumb!”
“Hah?!”
Disbelief filled Shu’s chest, eyes wide as he stared at the beta in bewilderment.
“What are you—”
“H-He was practically undressing ya with his eyes!” Mika whines, hands balled into fists. “And! And he keeps subtly scenting ya! Oshi-san, yer dumb! Dumb!”
“Excuse me?!”
What was Kagehira even talking about?!
“You cannot be serious—”
“I am! Nngh, the worst part is that ya don’t even notice!”
Shu frowns, a confused sound leaving his throat. “I don’t know what you’re babbling about.”
Mika sighs in defeat, the line of his shoulders still tense.
“Forget about such nonsense. We have to prepare for the show.” Shu grunts, his temple aching.
The smaller man merely gives him a mumbled response. Silence falling over the two.
Both soon stand in their unit’s uniform, Shu’s hands reaching to adjust Mika’s collar and smooth any wrinkle in the fabric.
His fingers twitch, the familiar stab of pain low in his belly making his heart sink.
No.
No, not now.
Mika must have sensed his panic, maybe even the twinge in his muted scent, because his head snapped upwards.
“Oshi-san.”
“Don’t.”
The beta’s features twist.
“But-”
“Kagehira.”
Mika falls quiet, eyes lowered, his heart pounding in his chest.
“Just cramps.” Shu breathes out, his voice weak.
The omega takes a deep breath, straightening his spine.
“Come on.” He tugs the shorter forward, trying not to think of the worried squeeze in his hand he recieves in response.
The lights backstage are lowered, the murmur of the crowd of fans outside slowly growing louder.
Shu’s eyes drift forward, a sense of unease quickly filling his gut.
His vision swims, his knees buckling under his weight. Followed by the panicked sounds of the staff around.
“Itsuki-san!”
“Oshi-san!”
“Shu..!”
Strong arms catch him from behind, before he is pulled towards a warm chest. The smell of comfort reaches his nose, filling his lungs in a way that makes him want to purr.
“I got ya.” Rinne’s voice is a low timber, hands tugging off his jacket and wrapping it around the omega’s lithe form.
Shu’s eyes drift shut, his skin uncomfortably warm. Sweat had begun to gather on his temple as he feels the alpha carrying him away from the concerned staff. The indignant growls of Mika following them closely behind.
The omega can barely register where they’re going, but soon enough he feels his back sink into his soft matress.
“Get out!” Mika demands, his features filled with anger.
Rinne gives him a strange look, tugging a few blankets around the omega’s trembling frame. His scent spiking with annoyance.
“That’s not very nice, Mii-tan.” The redhead grits out, fighting to keep the smile on his lips. “I brought Shukkun back to his dorm safely, didn’t I?”
“Shut up! G-Get away from Oshi-san before I-”
“Kagehira.”
Mika’s anger crumbles, scampering forward to kneel next to the omega’s form.
“Oshi-san…”
“You… You have to leave.” Shu pleads, struggling to mantain his words from slurring.
“What?! But- I… I can’t leave you with-”
“Kagehira…”
The beta whimpers, his heart sinking.
“Please- You have to go back. Make… Make something, anything up.” Shu insists, his voice pained. “If anyone knows I’m…”
The pink haired man trails off, the word too shameful to even utter it from his lips.
Mika swallows thickly, nodding.
“… Okay. Okay- I… I’ll do it.”
The beta stands up on shaky legs, glaring at the alpha.
“If you do something to Oshi-san. I’ll kill you.” He warns, giving one last look at the pair before he rushes out the room. Closing the door behind him.
Rinne stays quiet, the growing scent of omega in heat slowly filling the room. Making arousal pool low in his belly, his fangs ache.
The redhair forces down a low growl, not daring to look at Shu’s figure on the bed.
“Well, I should get goin’-”
“Amagi…”
The sweet, weak call of his name makes Rinne freeze, before taking a tentative glance over his shoulder.
Shu’s eyes are focused on him, his pupils nearly blown wide.
The redhead feels his mouth go dry. His heart picking up pace, almost pounding against his chest.
“… You won’t tell anyone, will you?”
Rinne raises an eyebrow, arms crossing over his chest.
“Didn’t think it was a secret.” He hums, tilting his head.
Rinne shakes his head, rolling his eyes when the omega gives him a distrustful look.
“Why would I do that? Relax.” He reassures quietly, running a hand through his hair.
Shu’s lips part to retort, but squeezes a hand over his belly instead. A sharp sting of pain making him whimper.
Rinne’s heart jolts at the pitiful sound, instinctively taking a step forward.
“You good?”
“… No.”
Shu let’s out a shuddering breath, his scent flaring with sourness.
“Do you get cramps often or somethin’?”
Violet eyes glare at the alpha, who gives him a raised brow in return.
“I don’t… See how that is any of your business.”
“Just… trying to make conversation, I guess.”
The pair fall quiet, some awkwardness filling the air between.
“I could help, ya know?
“Non..!”
Shu is almost mortified. It was humilliating enough having his secret almost get discovered- But this? Sharing a heat?
“Why not?”
Rinne takes another step closer.
“We don’t have to do… whatever yer thinking.”
The omega swallows, a lump forming around his throat. “Then how the hell would you being here would help?”
“Simple contact. Proximity- Come on, did ya not pay attention in health class or whatever?”
Shu’s cheeks turn pink, shame crawling up his spine. He skipped most classes he deemed worthless. Especially anything that reminded him of his wretched second gender.
“Here, scoot over.”
“A-Amagi?!”
Rinne crawled next to Shu, tugging the omega close to his chest. His hands splayed over his lower back.
“I won’t do anythin’ you don’t want to.” The redhead reassured quietly, his tone surprisingly soft.
Shu couldn’t help the rush of comfort that crashed over him. The pain in his belly seemed to disappear completely.
His body slowly relaxed, the ache in his limbs almost non-existent.
The only thing that lingered was the subtle thrum of arousal still coursing through his veins.
Shu’s cheeks gained color, the feeling of the alpha’s body pressed so tightly against him made the tingling between his legs grow. Slick already pooling and soaking his underwear.
He felt shame crawled up his spine, making him want to pull away and hide under the covers.
Rinne didn’t let him, slowly inching a leg between the omega’s thighs. Making Shu whimper at the firm pressure.
“Jus’… take whatever you need.”
“D-Don’t say that—” Shu pleaded, his breath coming in short pants. “It’s shameful- disgusting-”
“It’s natural.” Rinne hummed, his voice almost tender.
The alpha’s hands drifted down, taking hold of Shu’s hips and rocking them forward. Urging the omega to grind against his thigh.
“Amagi..!” Shu gasps, the friction making his heart pound.
“See? Feels good, doesn’t it?”
It did. It felt amazing. Like nothing Shu had ever felt before.
He began to move his hips in small, almost shy circles. Teeth sinking into his lower lip, trying to hold back any noise that threatened to spill from his throat.
“Hm. Come on, don’t be shy Shukkun.”
“Hah…”
The omega shuddered hard, grinding more insistently against Rinne’s thigh. His trembling hands pulled at the redhead’s shirt. Slick now soaked the fabric of the alpha’s pants, Shu didn’t find it in himself to care.
Rinne’s leg shifted, the change of angle made the strong muscle press deliciously against Shu’s clit.
“A-Amagi—”
“Good boy. You’re doing so good, Shu.”
Shu almost wailed at the praise, his most basic instincts thrilled. He wanted to do good. So good. Be so good to Rinne—
The orgasm crashed into Shu, a broken mewl escaping his mouth as he trembled. His breath turning to short gasps.
Rinne held him through it, whispering praises and caressing the short, damp curls of the omega’s hair.
Bliss danced through every inch of his system, and yet, Shu didn’t feel satisfied at all.
He felt painfully empty.
Shu let out another whimper, his mouth dry. His tongue felt weak, his throat numb. As if it was filled with cotton.
“Still needy?” Rinne coos, slipping a hand under Shu’s shirt — when had he undressed, anyways?— fingertips tracing every bump of his spine.
The pink haired man breathed out, his mind spinning.
“Okay, okay. Tell me if you don’t like this.” Rinne gulped, the hand that was caressing Shu’s back sliding down. Slowly inching to his navel. Fingers playing with the hem of Shu’s underwear.
The omega didn’t say anything, so Rinne took this as permition to continue. Slipping past the hem, digits coming in contact with wet folds.
Shu’s hips jolted, mouth parted open in a quiet moan.
“A-Amagi—”
“Can I?”
Shu hestitates, before nodding. His eyes almost pleading as he looked at the taller beneath long, fluttering lashes.
Rinne pressed forward, two fingers tracing slow circles around the small, soaked bundle of nerves. Pressing it gently in a way that made Shu’s eyes almost roll back.
“Amagi—”
“Shh… I know.”
The alpha’s fingers slid further down, the index pressing lightly against that fluttering entrance.
A burst of panic made Shu’s hands tighten around the alpha’s hand.
“N-Not there—”
“Okay. Okay, I won’t press there.” Rinne murmurs softly, lips pressed against the pink haired’s forehead. “Not inside. I won’t.”
The alpha continued his ministrations. Focusing in the omega’s clit instead. His index and ring finger teasingly spread the chubby lips apart. His middle finger rubbing the swollen nub in circles. Relishing in the choked sounds Shu was making.
“Like this? Does this feel good.”
“Ah, hah— Amagi—”
Rinne could feel the throbbing of the omega’s cunt, at the verge of another orgasm. The redhaired sped his movements, his cock giving a wanton twitch. He could feel his knot already forming, begging to be buried inside this gorgeous omega.
The alpha gritted his teeth instead, forcing his focus back to Shu’s expression.
“Amagi— I’m gonna—” The warning drowned under a high pitched cry, his hips quivering as he released. Slick spurting and soaking the alpha’s palm.
“Fuck—”
Rinne pressed his face into the pillow, sharp teeth sinking into the fabric, ripping it as he spilled in his pants. Free hand slipping under his own boxers to wrap around his knot and squeeze hard.
Both men panted harshly, their scents combined with the heavy scent of slick.
Shu’s heat-addled body couldn’t hold consciousness, promptly passing out with a weak whine, spent after such intense orgasm.
Leaving Rinne watching over him, deflating knot still in his palm.
And to clean up their mess.
