Chapter Text
The witch was dead.
For how long White Lily Cookie had no idea if anything she could do could kill Dark Enchantress Cookie,a part of her. It happened, with much effort but it did happen and now what? The cookie kind was free? No it wasn't,they could never be free,
not really,
just as free as they were before.
Silent Salt Cookie had been the first one to step up to help, and the one mostly unharmed beast, except the few wounds that had been treated.
There walked the best in the long hallway of the Glorious Vanilla Castle letting White Lily Cookie lead his way , their goal had been achieved hadn't it? What even was his goal, there will always be great evil amongst those pathetic cookies.
White Lily Cookie wasn't much better mentally herself, but she tried to be as positive as she could, one of the many thoughts lingering to her mind was Golden Cheese Cookie and how she still hasn't ...-
"I admire your compassion...White Lily Cookie, far beyond mine" Silent Salt Cookie started, "but those foul monsters you keep caged, they are not worthy of redemption, forgiveness, kindness, and I have seen that first hand. They have done many wrongs...yet your friends are adamant about keeping them here under care."
White Lily Cookie sighed "I know...but they did help us defeat Dark Enchantress Cookie, and we can't let them go without deciding what will become of them after that... And I have to admit my friend Dark Cacao Cookie was right, they could ran off and start their own plans of all we know. They will receive a worthy punishment but leaving them to rot with their wounds will make us no better than them." ,
Silent Salt Cookie said nothing
He too had been forgiven, and so did she
"I shall trust you,White Lily Cookie.. you did not let me down before" he nodded. "But if they even get an ides to try anything,I will not hesitate to harm them again,as I have before."
White Lily Cookie didn't have much to say, even if the idea of more jam and crumbs spilled on the ground didn't sit right with her,she knew Silent Salt Cookie wasn't completely unprompted to do such a thing.
...
"Their punishment has yet to be decided...and what will become of me?"
"What do you mean?" White Lily Cookie asked
"There is no place for me...earthbread doesn't need us virtues anymore, and I too, have done my fair share of mistakes"
"You can stay ,Silent Salt Cookie , earthbread was your home before it was ours, and i know you have a heart of gold deep inside,as mislead as it has been in the past and you have proven that right many times"
Silent Salt Cookie kneeled down on one knee and gently took White Lily Cookie's hand
"And I will be doing so again and again,I am now grateful for you,White Lily Cookie"
White Lily Cookie's mouth tucked into a smile, despite her pained past, especially the last few months, she gave Silent Salt Cookie her other hand and helped him stand up again
"That's enough of this talk don't you think? I should show you around, I'm sure earthbread has changed a lot before you last had a chance to see enjoy it! I'll show you around, I'm sure it will be nice to spend some actual time together, you are my other half after all"
Silent Salt Cookie didn't know what to say to that,as it had caught him off guard,he only let an awkard and confused "I thought...Dark Enchantress Cookie was your 'other half' -"
White Lily Cookie took him by thr hand and started rushing across the hallway, Silent Salt Cookie let again a flustered "oh uh...okay!" And tried his best following along"Alright White Lily Cookie- That's a little bit too fast!" She let out a soft and gentle chuckle.
As they ran through the vanilla hallways ...well yes, they passed through a rather specific door whom the attention deserves to be shifted towards, the perfect harmony the vanilla kingdom's aura always seemed to carry seemed to hold no power inside of this room, because passing by could hear some familiar unhappy voices yelling.
"NO,WAIT - AGH! HOW DARE YOU"
"uh...my apologies, but you have to stand still and stop moving for the-" "I WILL MOVE WHEREVER I WANT!"
"Oh I'm in soooo much PAIN! Where is HollyBerry Cookie? Let her see me!"
"So much emotion,so much pain...no one understands the way of apathy...no cookie is listening..."

Enter the room,to the mighty beasts being treated by Pure Vanilla's assistants,no one really questioned if they were actual nurses or not. The beasts were in beds but had chains over their arms ...
In case
One of the nurses was unwrapping the bandages around Shadow Milk Cookie's waist to replace it with a clean one and the other one doing the same with Eternal Sugar Cookie's burned wings as she winced next to Mystic Flour Cookie, whose eyes were if not empty then just tired
"Oh they're a lost cause,we might have to cut them off"
Eternal Sugar Cookie moved away immediately "Oh you wouldn't do such a thing! Don't you dare lay your dough on my wings! They will stay on me forever!"
"Such a childish display you are pulling" Mystic Flour Cookie muttered "...your wings are useless,so it is a pointless weight for them to remain on your back."
Shadow Milk Cookie slid closer to the girls with his hands going back for support as the nurse (?) tried to attend to his wound and his head fell back "Then rip your icing out of your head, it's pointless aswell"
Mystic Flour Cookie's expression shifted to annoyance but she didn't say anything more
Burning Spice Cookie meanwhile laid on his own bedding, more far off as he hadn't woken up for the day yet -nor was seeming to do so anytime soon - and yet he too had a different look, something pained,as his head tossed and turned in discomfort.
The beasts weren't in the best state imaginable, not of health and most definitely not of mind, and there still was a scheduled visit from Pure Vanilla Cookie about to come to check, possibly if they were giving the nurses a hard time, Shadow Milk Cookie couldn't say he was looking forward to that but whatever "had to be done"...
They had nothing
They were nobodies
Weak.
There was only one thing remaining that had to stand in order for them to not lose their minds, and that was what Silent Salt Cookie also struggled with.
Patience
