Chapter Text
“And remember, these need to be turned in by Friday if you want to come to the field trip! And please, just bring one envelope with all the money inside.”
The teacher announced at the front of the class of what was expected as the bell rang, while Finney packed slowly to avoid seeing anyone he didn’t want to outside the classroom.
This week was a special week, especially for little Finney Blake.
Because this week, his whole grade would be going on a trip to an observatory!
He could imagine it now, sitting next to Donna on the bus, watching her amazed face as he knew every detail there was to know about space.
Speaking of Donna..
She was walking this way, in her skirt and long stocking’s..
”Hey Finn!” Donna smiled as she walked up to his desk, her delicate hands played with her backpack straps as she looked at him. “You coming to the field trip?
He wanted to sigh in adoration as her head tilted just slightly.
”U-uh yeah..yeah I’m coming..How about you?” He cursed inwardly at his stutter
”m’yep! My parents already gave me the money.”
Finney smiled shyly at her. “Who do you wanna sit with on the bus?..” He hopes he’s not super obvious, but a part of him thinks he is as she giggles and looks down at her clean white sneakers.
”My friend wants me to sit with her but I was thinking that maybe..you’d, wanna sit with me?”
20 dollars was what every kid had to pay..a bit on the pricey side to Finney. But he’s sure his father will hand it right over!
”Yeah, yeah! We’ll sit on the bus together..” Finney grinned after she smiled and walked away.
this was gonna be the best field trip ever.
”uhm…wha?”
”No, Finney. No. I am not giving you twenty bucks so you can go stare at fake little planets on display,” The man spoke gruffly with a sense of irritation.
Terrance took a swig of his whiskey after he finished speaking. Just watching the tv, not even looking at Finney as he spoke.
his father had not given him the money, and did not seem to be entertaining finney’s interest in space and rockets. And even though the thought of changing his father’s mind was very prominent, he did not want to anger the drunken man.
He had already given gwen a beating in the morning for talking back rather vulgarly.
”but..”
“No is no and that is final. Do you wanna talk back, boy?” He only turned his head then to look at Finney.
The young boy shook his head, staring at his socked feet instead. “No..sorry, dad..”
”Good. now go to your room. It’s late.”
Finney nodded at his father’s words. Even if he was half listening. He needed that money and he needed it fast! He was so sure he would be the only boy not able to afford the field trip..that would earn him more snickers and teasing.
And that was the last thing he needed.
”night, dad.”
Terrance seemed to be dozing off to sleep already as he rested back against his arm chair. ”G’night,”
Finney gently took the bottle from the man’s calloused hands and placed it on the coffee table. His small feet padding down the hallway to his bedroom. Maybe he had some money left over in his piggy bank? He picked it up from his desk after closing the door quietly behind him, sitting on his bed anxiously.
He dumped the pink, ceramic pig upside down, shaking it. Hoping to god that he had somehow saved up enough money ever since he got the stupid thing!
“C’mon..”
a few quarters fell out before he remembered to unplug the pig at the bottom, but even then only three dollars fell out.
“Three dollars and..four quarters, four dollars!” He murmured excitedly to himself.
though that excitement was short lived.
Sixteen dollars short, things weren’t looking to be in his favor so far..And sixteen dollars don’t just drop out of the sky!
But they do drive by on a Thursday afternoon.
The birds chirped, the small puddles from last week’s rain glittered from the sun pouring down on them.
It was Tuesday, Finney had not gotten the money yet despite picking up coins off the ground, it was now four dollars and 24 cents! Yet not twenty. That really bummed finney out! He already told Donna he’d be going..He had two days before the envelopes were due on Friday. And the young boy did not want to let Donna down.
He kicked rocks on the way home, trying to think of something, anything! He could ask that Vance guy if he has money since he’s always putting quarters in that pinball machine..
But Vance isn’t the friendliest..Finney quickly scratched that option.
“oof-“ Finney fell back on his ass after bumping into something, or— someone. A strong hand reached out to help him up after hastily apologising.
“Are you alright there? Gah, must’ve not seen you while walking Samson here, sorry about that.”
The man laughed softly, that was when finney took the man’s free hand and noticed the other was holding a leash connected to the collar of a rather big dog. Finney hadn’t really owned pets, ever. He wasn’t allowed to, and he was kind of scared of dogs anyway.
”I’m okay..sorry for bumping into you.” Finney spoke softly as he stood up with the help of the older man.
He was dressed a bit peculiarly, black tinted sunglasses with a black top hat as well, the kind you see in magic shows. He was old enough to the point finney should not be thinking of how handsome he is, how strong his hands looked and felt with those silver rings. Finney brushed himself off, but it seemed he had scraped his hands.
“Oh you’re bleeding,” the man sighed, and Finney liked the slight worry in his voice for a boy he’d just met.
“I’m okay really—“
“I could bandage you up?”
…
”uhm, I don’t want to be a bother,” Finney muttered, looking down at his shoes. The man giggled, which Finney did not expect from a man of his looks.
”It’s nothing, really! My house is just nearby down the street!” The man pointed at Finney’s street. And the boy was so tempted to take his hand and follow!
But he knew not to talk to strangers.
”What’s your name?” Finney wanted to make sure they weren’t strangers anymore.
”Albert, Albert Shaw,” the man flashed a big smile, one that made Finney smile softly himself.
”And you are?” Albert questioned.
…
”Finney Blake,” he was ready to come with the man now.
”Well, Finney. Would you like for me to bandage you up?” Albert held out a hand for the boy to take.
And Finney took it.
The walk to this new interesting man’s house was nice, the man chatted while Finney listened, Albert waving his hands in the air. Finney only ever giggled this much when he was with Robin..
He even got to hold Samson’s leash a bit.
”Here we are!” The man exclaimed.
While Finney stared at his house two houses down.
”Mr. Shaw—“
”Call me Al!”
Already on first name basis including nicknames.
”Al,” Finney corrected, “we’re neighbor's,” he couldn’t help but feel a little excited about that. And so did Albert.
The older man raised a bushy eyebrow while smiling, “really?”
Finney laughed softly. “Yeah! My house is over there!”
”Oh well isn’t that grand, now come on! Let’s get those cuts cleaned up.”
Finney followed the man inside. He’s glad he bumped into him..
”Shut the door behind you,” Albert spoke. Letting Samson off his leash to go roam in the fenced backyard, the back door already opened for him.
After shutting the front door behind him, he followed the man as he led Finney through the house to what Finney guessed was the bathroom.
”Alright..now where is that first aid kit..” Albert muttered as he rummaged through cabinets and drawers. “Aha! There it is.”
and Finney shut the door behind him without being told to.
“Just sit on the toilet lid there for me, will you?” He spoke while opening the kit and taking out what he thought was required to clean up this lovely boy in his house.
“you know, for neighbor’s, I don’t think we’ve ever seen each till today?” The boy was curious about that.
”Oh, well I don’t leave the house much unless it’s for work!” The man answered.
”What’s your job?”
”Im a part time magician and a mechanic,” Albert smiled up at him as he cleaned the boy’s hands up. “I bet that explains my funny looking outfit.”
“And the white face paint,” they both giggled at finney’s words.
And Albert found he liked the boy’s laugh, found he liked the boy and his pretty face. “Ever seen a magic trick?”
Finney shook his head, “I don’t go places much besides school and the corner store..and the occasional baseball game I have.”
He liked baseball. That was nice, Albert played baseball at his age..
”Oh, if you’d..like? I can show you one after this.”
”I’d like that.” Finney smiled down at the man, kneeling and bandaging Finney’s now cleaned up hands, he hadn’t even felt the rubbing alcohol from how focused he was on Albert.
After that was done, he showed Finney a couple magic tricks in his living room, card tricks that made Finney look in awe, making objects disappear which finney gasped at, oh it was too fun for the both of them! Till Finney noticed it was getting late.
He didn’t say anything though, his dad could text him if he needed anything, which he doubted his father would be awake enough to even fathom the realisation his son was not yet home from school.
..oh that reminded him..somehow..
He still doesn’t have enough money for the field trip. God dammit. He wasn’t very focused on the man’s chatter next to him on the couch. Albert was certainly handsome, but god he could talk.
”Finney?” Albert spoke, snapping Finney out of his train of thought.
”oh- yeah, sorry..What were you saying?”
”are you alright.”
Finney nodded, staring back down at his feet. The one thing he wanted and his father couldn’t even fulfill that. What a shitty fucking asshole!
He felt a strong arm wrap around his shoulders. “Finney?”
..
maybe Finney had a little idea..
”uhm..yes?”
”You seem a little out of it, dear,” Albert spoke with concern in his voice. And the boy liked being called dear..
”I’m okay..just..thinking about something.”
”Oh, well I’m all ears if you’re comfortable!” The man smiled down at Finney, rubbing circles into his shoulder with his thumb.
Finney nodded and smiled, he liked having someone to talk to if it wasn’t Gwen, but even then he didn’t really tell her much.
”I have this field trip next Tuesday but..I kinda have to pay 20 dollars by tomorrow, but I don’t really have the money..and I really wanna go! Because this girl wants me to sit next to her and I already promised her I would,” and as Finney talked, the man nodded along, watched, rubbed the boy’s shoulder more, showing he was listening.
”Your parents wouldn’t give you anything?”
..
”no,” and Albert seemed surprised by finney’s answer.
“Isn’t that a shame, hm?” Albert sighed, pulling Finney closer. Too close for someone the young boy barely met.
Finney felt so ashamed for the feelings bubbling up in his tummy. Felt ashamed for leaning into his touch, and felt ashamed for the thoughts running amok in his head.
He should really be heading home now.
”It’s getting late..”
”Your house is only two down from here, right? If you’re hungry I could make you something,” and he flashed that charming grin, that grin that made Finney feel weak.
”I don’t know, my dad might be worried,” a plain lie. And he knew the man could see right through him.
”I insist,” oh Albert really wanted him to stay..Finney could tell.
but he wasn’t sure if that was..okay.
”I really have to go!” Finney stood up, not sure he could handle a second longer of his thoughts and feelings with this man. He was scared he would do something stupid..
Only for Albert to yank him back on the couch.
”No you don’t,” Albert sighed, practically straddling him with how close he was, nearly on top. Running a hand through finney’s dirty blonde curls.
”What are you doing?..” Finney’s voice trembled, not with fear..he wasn’t sure what it was he was feeling.
Maybe a little bit of fear, but it was something deeper.
”Just stay a bit longer. I don’t know why you’re in such a rush to leave, ba- Finney,” Albert’s grip only tightened in Finney’s hair as the boy tried moving away. Wrapping it around his hand..tangled in his rings.
”Stop. It.” The man demanded.
”I have to go home, let me go!” Finney cried out as he tried yanking his head away, only for his hair to pull, Albert did not loosen his grip.
”Sh..stop. Stop that struggling, sweetheart, god, do you really wanna leave me that bad? And here I thought we were beginning to be friends,” the man spoke with mock hurt, trying to guilt trip the boy into staying.
Too bad he had to slam Finney down on the couch as the boy’s struggling only increased.
”Ow!” Finney cried, he didn’t understand why Albert was being so rough now. Or why he didn’t want Finney to leave..
”please-“ finney whined. Oh and Albert ate those sounds right up, now on top and inches from his face, his grayish brown hair falling down on the sides of finney’s head.
”I can help you with that field trip money.”
..
”what?..”
”Just a small favor and you’ll get 20 bucks.” Albert grinned. And not the friendly grin he had first charmed Finney with..it was hungry.
”please just let me go”
”oh..you don’t wanna go on that field trip?” he sighed. “Too bad. Guess you won’t sit with that girl after all.”
”w-wait!” Finney gasped, Albert’s grip in his hair tightening.
”hm?”
”what’s the favor?..” Albert chuckled at Finney’s question. Young boy’s were so easily persuaded.
”You’re such a pretty boy, Finney. So handsome..so small. Probably tons of girls waiting for a chance with you.”
”But they don’t know how to really handle you. Not like a man would..not like I would.”
..
Finney hated where this was going, as much as it made his pussy slick up.
”no..”
”It’ll be so quick Finney, so fucking quick you’ll feel so good!”
”no! Get- get off!” And the struggling presumed.
”You’ll like it.” Albert growled, halting finney’s movements by holding his shoulders down.
”Am I too ugly? Is that it, Finney?”
No! No- I just-“ even then Finney didn’t wanna hurt the man’s feelings. Because he was far from ugly..
”Then what.”
..
”please just let me go.”
Albert stared down at Finney for a bit. He had the perfect opportunity, this young, weak, pretty boy in his hands..he could easily snap his neck and use him as he pleases.
or he could tie finney up and hear those sweet squeals as he fucked the boy to an inch of his life. Maybe even fuck his throat while Finney clawed at has thighs and hips.
…
no
no
he couldn’t hurt such a sweet face like this..
slowly releasing the boy’s shoulders, watching for any sign the boy might fight..
”Think about it, Finney. Just think about it.”
The boy only nodded shakily, any way to get out of here..Albert got off of him. And just as Finney was hopping off and hurriedly heading to the front door, his hand stilled on the doorknob as Albert spoke.
”And Finney?”
..
”Don’t try to avoid me. We are neighbors after all.”
Finney nodded shakily before running out.
..
He was gonna avoid him.
