Chapter 1: Sincho's chapter: The Red Mist's Man

Chapter Text

Sinclair often had the habit of venting to Ryoushu about things. But he always made sure not to explain very sensitive information. He has been getting better at being confident and opening up about his thoughts and emotions since their journey as sinners began but he was still conscious about certain topics, and it especially gets awkward after a sinner has their turn. Nonetheless Sinclair felt he s bond with this fellow sinner

"U-um Ryoushu, do you have time to talk about something? I need some advice." The young man had asked her while they were on their way to deal with a phenomenon that had manifested in their path to district eleven, however the woman was kind enough to take some time out. He was her friend after all.

"S.W.Y.N.?"(Sinclanslation: Sure, What you need) The woman had taken another drag of her cigarette before seating herself across from him in the bus, the other sinners bar Rodya and Gregor had been deployed at Sinclair's request and Dante was likely demolishing the Abnormalities of the mirror dungeons because of it. The boy must make this brief.

"I-I want help asking out Don Qui-."

"O.T.?"(Sinclanslation: oh that) the woman had said it as I she was anticipating this topic.

"J.F.H." the woman had delivered a simple three letter sentence and then took another drag from her cigarette.

"Ha, ha. Um did, I misunderstand that last line? You didn't just say?"

"Just, Fuck Her." She had said with slight annoyance in her tone.

"Asking her out you're better off just dropping your pants and pouncing, she's head over heals for you so any advance of yours is G.S." Her cigarette has burnt out by the end of her sentence but instead of demanding the boy light another one up for her she simply sighed and walked away.

"S.D.P.W.C.A.D. that's all you need."(Sinclanslation: Simple Delivery Projected With Confidence and Determination)

The woman had given him more than enough of her time and her last words gave the boy a bit of hope that he'd be able to accomplish his goal.
-----------------------

Sinclair had been deployed with Don Quixote just as he anticipated, however he did not expect the power of this new Identity to be so great. Wielding a guargantuan sword appearing like flesh, with eyes all throughout it, Don Quixote's Red Mist Identity was able to easily tear through her foes while generating grand fires from her blood. She was simply stunning, a version of Sancho who had obtained the power of the strongest fixer in history.

Sinclair was using his base identity so he wasn't able to do much other than swing his halberd, but he was able to showcase a few skills he learned from the Night Drifter after some practice. He brought it down and tore apart a peccatula but the stage three Irae are overwhelming in power and push him back. He is struck multiple times after failing to clash with them on Dante's orders but he was able to survive a few lacerations and being set on fire. That was until something far stronger than Expected appeared.

"Huh!? An abnormality this early?!" Dante's clockhead made a loud exclamation sound as they were shocked by the appearance of a large beast, a creature like a wolf whose blue claws would've tore Sinclair apart in a single swing

"Damnit." Sinclair had tripped on the head of a peccatula that Don Quixote has tore off. The Abnormality senses his weakness and pounced, intending to send him asunder. But Sinclair was never struck. Don Quixote has split the Wolf in half, vertically. And upon the Abnormality shattering into an egg, she had offered her hand to let ft the young man up.

"I...I love you."Perhaps it was the pain of all the slash wounds causing him to become delirious or the way she looked so radiant while covered in blood with the sun shining to her back, but the young man blurted out the only thing on his mind.

"What?" The woman had her composure completely broken by the sudden confession. She who always spoke with the confidence of an accomplished fixer, with the dignity of The Manager of La Manchaland, and with the authority of Vergilius, was left completely dumbfounded.

"Eh. Wait I didn't mean to say that yet! Um, ah sorry ms. Sancho, I um." The boy's face was bright red and he had no way to cover up his mistake. Well, he might as well go with the flow, after all perhaps Ryoushu's words about Don Quixote liking him were true? Sinclair tried to convince himself of this to muster up what confidence he could ever summon.

"Sinclair. Do you truly mean what you said just now?" The woman had regained a semblance of composure, however her face was perhaps redder than Sinclair's, and it's not just because of the blood covering her entire body.

"I. I do. I mean it ms. Sancho. I love you." The boy was able to work the words out of his mouth on his own accord, that was victory enough for him, however he would not receive a response just yet. The sinners were suddenly transported to the bus once more, the mirror dungeon having been cleared.

Normally all of the sinners immediately return to their base identities upon the completion of a mirror dungeon, after all the personality, memories, and power of another version of oneself is not healthy to maintain. Sancho had not been returned to her base identity. Her eyes still shine their true red, she still wore the black jacket of the red mist over a suit made in the image of her father The Red Gaze, and she still carried that guargantuan sword with eyes enhanced by her hard blood abilities as a Bloodfiend.

"Um. Ms.Sancho. Is everything alright?" Sinclair had asked because normally when something like this

"You say you love me correct?" She had said as she had looked Sinclair straight into the eyes, her gaze was now burning with some emotion that he couldn't quite tell, mainly because she always had a very serious and furious look, Sinclair sometimes felt the urge to protect her if he could, something his Identities shared between them to some extent, after all he can feel everything that happens even when manifesting an identity.

"Yes. I d-" The young man was then pulled by his collar into a deep kiss, Sancho had somehow closed the distance faster than human reactions could register, wrapping her left arm around him and grabbing the back of his head with the right. The regular Don Quixote wouldn't have been this bold, this is the pure uninhibited feeling of Don Quixote expressed through the confidence of a color. Her eyes shined a dangerous red, as she stared him down while kissing him. Eventually Sinclair attempted to pull away, and in response Sancho stopped deflowering him with her kiss. A string of saliva connected them, and so Sancho kicked her lips to swallow even more of his saliva.

"Then from this day forward you're my man. Dearest Sinclair." She had the look of a maniac in love. Suddenly Sinclair had felt a shiver go down his spine as she approached him, she had wrapped her arms around him and given him a tight squeeze, ensuring that she was holding him close. Her gaze was filled with determination while his was filled with fear.
"Worry not Dearest Sinclair, you are now the Red Mist's Man." Reluctantly Sinclair returned the embrace, she was warm to the touch and he actually felt some of his stress melt away.
"And unlike the others, I know you won't betray me." The room was suddenly cold. Sancho's gaze was both eerie and love filled, but deeper was a darkness Sinclair could feel even without the ability to know the true feelings of other sinners. Sinclair realized now that he just became the lover of the most dangerous person in the city. But it's alright, he'll be fine because she's right, he WILL become someone who can say with confidence that he is the Red Mist's lover.

Notes:

Red Mist Identity Don Quixote is a version of Sancho who was raised like Vergilius' own daughter and traveled with the sinners for some time, however they turned against her excluding Dante, Faust, Sinclair, Merusault, and Vergilius, who still all failed to save her. After the rest of the sinners and Vergilius were killed by both overwhelming amounts of Bloodfiends and the Sinner's schism, Sancho was about to become a distortion but managed to decide on her own to follow the path of the greatest fixer. She awakened her Effloresced E.G.O. and after burying her colleagues, she had honheim extract the essence of Nothing There, the Abnormality in Sinclair's basement, she had then continued the last wishes of her true friends and colleagues, she continued her dream of becoming a great fixer, taking the name of The Red Mist:: Daughter of The Red Gaze.
