Chapter Text
It was a quiet day in the town of Magnolia, the sun shined, the birds chirped and in the distance...wait? There's a sound, not hustle or bustle it sounds almost like something being broken? Lots of yelling, aaaaand suddenly it makes more sense.
Fairy Tail was fighting once again, most likely Natsu and Grey starting something once again. The Guild Hall, which was once lovingly pristine looked like a complete madhouse with dust clouds everywhere and most of the members trying to kick the living shit out of each other. Tables and benches thrown to the wayside as people either joined or tried to escape.
Natsu the ever loud and flaming Pink haired "Salamander" was busy fighting a very tall man with darker skin and spiked up white hair, his name was Elfman. The resident nudist (though not intentional) Grey was busy trying to fight Natsu while everyone else was trying to fight him. Needless to say it was complete disaster, but hey, that's just how this Guild operated.
Thank the heavens some members of the Guild didn't engage in these brawls, otherwise we'd all be screwed. Resident drunk princess Cana was downing a whole keg at the bar while the sweet starlet of Sorcerer Weekly, Mirajane watched with a smile, having long gotten used to this. Off in a far corner of the Guild Hall were two girls, both having blue hair, liking to read, though only one was consistently followed by her squad and both giving quite the different vibe if you will.
The two were having very different reactions to the current situation befalling their fellow members. The slightly more mature woman idly switched which leg was over the other with a roll of her eyes as she was reading a silver colored book with an ornamental golden key printed on the front.
"I honestly hate when they get like this." She sighed flipping the page as the cuter of the two woman giggled lightly to herself. "Really? Is that why you've been glancing over every so often?"
"Th-That's just to make sure they haven't seriously injured themselves." the darker blue haired girl coughed and turned her head away, a faint pink dusting her cheeks. "I'm sure you understand Levy." "Mhmmmmm, sure Delphi, sure." Levy smirked as her two companions, Jet and Droy, the other two members of Shadow gear nodded in unison, seemingly taking Levy's side which annoyed Delphine to no end.
"Oh, Levy we were gonna pick out a job, anything we should look for specifically?" Jet asked, being his generally polite self. Droy was already looking at them from afar, seeing some interesting and a great many boring Jobs to take from Fairy Tail's quest board. "Hmmmm," Levy hummed to herself, thinking. "How about something light, I want to get back in time to rearrange some of my books before my news one arrive."
This caught Delphine's attention, why, because much like Levy she was a book nut, but they did differ in what kinds of books they read. Levy was an avid reader, loving books, her room was lined nearly wall to wall with them. Meanwhile Delphine was interesting in magical books, ones she could use in battle or to make her life easier.
"Oh speaking of which, Delphi, do you think I could get that book back whenever you're done?" Levy asked with a small smile, looking over her friends shoulder at the book in question. "Oh, right. Yes, I'll deliver it once I'm done. I'm shocked you have to ask." Delphine gave Levy a look of false hurting, making Levy giggle again as she got up. Delphine went back to her book as Droy and Jet walked over to the quest board with their leader. "So, what book did you lend, Delphine anyway, it doesn't look magical to me." Jet both asked and thought out loud. "Yeah, good point, I didn't think she was into normal reading." Droy said looking back at the woman in question as she was absorbed by her literature.
Levy snapped her fingers in front of Droy's face. "It's not polite to stare. To answer your question, I lent her a book about Celestial Spirits." "Celestial Spirits?" The two looked puzzled, making Levy sigh. "She's been fascinated with them since I met her, though I don't think she's a Celestial Spirit Mage."
As Shadow Gear approached the board, Delphine was left on her lonesome, she was occasionally required to duck or move to avoid a random projectile but it wasn't all that bad, the fighting ceased within the next 20 minutes, leaving a whole bunch of damage to the Guild Hall. To the surprise of Delphine, Natsu then took his little blue cat friend happy and rushed out of the Guild Hall. No quest, no other words, but he seemed excited.
Delphine was curious but decided not to follow, putting down her book and standing to stretch and go over to the Quest board herself. Summoning a brown book with some silver accents in her hand, Delphine opened and used the books power to mend some of the broken furniture with a silver light. "I honestly wish you would all stop breaking stuff." She said with an exasperated sigh.
finally arriving at the quest board, Delphine looked them up and down for something simple, rent was due in a few days and she could use the extra Jewel (the currency used in Fiore.) as she's looking the Guild stills ever so slightly as the doors open. walking in was a very tall man with spiked up blonde hair and pointy ass headphones. It was Laxus and he made a detour from his normal route.
See the Second Floor of the Guild Hall was only for S-Class wizards, one of them being the aforementioned Laxus. His team would also be allowed up there, but the Thunder god tribe appeared not to be following their "Thunder God" around at the moment. The Blonde boy's detour was dirctly behind delphine, his shadow looming over her smaller frame.
"Laxus, do you require something?" Delphine asked, not intimidated, unlike some of the less well known members of Fairy Tail. "Yeah, actually, you. How about you join me on the second floor, my treat?" Laxus grinned with all the smugness he'd somewhat earned for himself, he was much stronger than most after all, Delphine Included.
"Lord, how many times have I told you I'm not interested?" Delphine huffed and took a quest at random not quite thinking about it because Laxus was annoying her. The man in question looked disgruntled at Delphine while she hastened her step to get away from him. Though given the view of Delphine's rather big and beautiful derriere swaying with a light jiggle as she walked outside, he couldn't be too upset.
Now outside, Delphine looked and saw she picked up a simple quest to help someone retrieve a locket from the woods near Magnolia. Only 5000 Jewel, but she wasn't about to go and get another one if it means seeing Laxus again. "Ugh, I can't believe I was in love with him..." delphine sighed with a small blush, walking off to find the person who requested the Job.
