Chapter Text
Garroth frowns as he looks upon Zenix, who brought him away from the villiage. Frowning even more as Zenix began to speak, not because he didn’t like hearing his talk. He knew what Zenix would say would bring their problem to the front.
“What are we going to do?” Zenix asks with concern, “Since our last lord has passed away the people have been going crazy.” He wasn’t wrong, they were basically chickens with no heads. “Not to mention, we’re running low on local resources and we have no connection to the other villages.” Zenix’s voice became more upset and wary. Garroth sighed, knowing that the concern in his tone was not forsaken.
“Zenix, do not worry.” Garroth said, putting a hand on his shoulder. A way that he thought would soothe the guard’s mind. “I have a plan,” he adds, which wasn’t entirely a lie but he could tell that Zenix did not buy it.
A noise, something in the distance echoed in the forest. Making both of the guard’s heads turn to the direction it came from. “Wait, did you hear that?” Zenix said quickly, his eyes searching for the cause of this noise. But he only saw a little of green and black, and then it disappeared. The guard turns back to Garroth, “It might have been an animal then.”

The girl in purple blinks as she is surrounded by a forest, and starts talking to herself about day one. Her first thought was actually to find shelter. She does not remember where she was or where she came from but she knew she needed shelter.
The girl in purple started to head her away around the trees of brown and white. The sun was up in the east and she knew it would be a minute before dark fell upon her. She knows in her heart that was good, but where she learned this information was a mystery to her. She can't remember much actually. She didn’t know what scared her more, her being alone or why she was alone.
As she continued to walk she spotted something green and black, it was the clothes of a man chopping down a tree. It was far but not enough to give up walking towards him. “Hello?” she calls out to the man, speeding up her pace to catch up to him. But when she arrived at the place she once saw him, he was not there anymore. The lady in purple made a thin line with her lips and turned her head around to see if he was still nearby. Maybe she wasn’t loud enough? Or too loud.
And she did spot him, her eyes widened as she tried to chase after him practically. “Hey! Come here!” She called out, not her brightest words to get someone’s attention but she didn’t know the man and everything was fuzzy and confusing. She gave herself some grace even if some others may not.
And the man ran, he ran away and the lady cursed under her breath as she chased him into an edge of a village where two guards were stationed. The man ran past the fully armoured one, Garroth, got a silver glimpse of his face and he couldn’t believe it. But it couldn’t be him, could it? Before Garroth could grab him he was gone, he ran away and out of sight and Garroth cursed harshly as he turned around. Seeing a confused lady and bewildered Zenix. Great
Garroth went back to Zenix and just.. Stare at the lady talking to herself. He glances at Zenix who shrugs. Garroth actually watches the girl just walk into the village with no care in the world and he grumbles and follows her. He can’t exclude her from the village especially since they have no lord. But he can watch her, make sure she isn’t trouble herself. And he sighs when she finds the well.
Something is wrong with the villagers and the other guards, Garroth swears on it. Since the lord has been gone, it is like everyone here took a chemical or drank something they shouldn’t have. They have all jumped into this well, Garroth has tried to get them out, get the other guards to help. But they just won’t stop… even the other guards joined in! It was worrisome and annoying at the same time, he knows having no lord must be stressful but think about your mental health for Irene sake.
The lady in purple’s eyes widened in shock, there were just so many people in the well. And the terrain is just so unstable and messy, especially with the cave just right under the well itself. She started to …fuss? She felt like the fussing was normal for her, it was the first thing that came to her head when she saw all the potential injuries. She decided that she would fix this problem after looking over the entire village, which was more forest than housing but she didn’t know that.
Garroth stares at her even more, he didn’t mean to be creepy, she is just weird. He never met someone so caring for others she didn’t know but also be so prissy out loud. Though he concludes he is happy about her concerns for the well, though he doesn’t know what she will do about it.
Well he didn’t expect her to be strong, she was uncannily strong which was impressive by all means. It didn’t take long for her to get a few trees down with her bare hands. She didn’t seem to mind his supervision, more like she didn’t even know he was there to begin with. Garroth knew it had to be her rambling that was keeping her distracted and occupied.
“First lets start by fixing that stupid hole,” she randomly sprouted out with. She had this determined face on her that Garroth couldn’t stop thinking about, she seemed very dedicated to helping this place out…and living here as she declared in her rambles.
The lady in purple heads back to the well, she grumbles as she thinks about how to fix this center of the village. First she either fixes the well situation or the hole that goes to the cave. She started by making wooden planks that she could set down, and then made tools as well. She can do much with her hands she found out by the trees. But some, like stone, would be harder to get.
And she has decided on the well first, since it had so many victims stuck in there, but when she tried to. They did not leave, they just stayed in the dirty murky water for no reason. The lady in purple makes a face of confusion and tries to call them out. Which did not work, so she had to individually drag them away from the well into actual houses they could live in. Then she decided to get the guards out. Why the fuck are the guards in the well as…well?
Garroth watched the confused lady as she saw the people wanted to stay in the well and then get angry about the guards. Which is a reasonable reaction for he had the same one, it was like they all lost their minds and couldn’t think straight to save their lives. He sighs when she gives up on the persistent ones that wouldn’t leave. But he will give her props for getting most of them out, something he couldn’t do that is for sure.
The lady in purple started to clear more trees out, she was pondering as she cut them down. Where would she live? She hasn’t seen a lord house around here and she didn’t think these villagers actually knew how to live properly in houses. Technically she shouldn’t know either but she does, again for reasons she don’t remember. She shakes out of it as she gathers stone from the cave, maybe instead of confusing herself she can help these …sad villagers.
Dark grew faster than she thought it would, she quickly made some torches. Darkness made her feel uneasy and she didn’t like that feeling. It was like something laid in the darkness and it would reach for the lady. Of course nothing was actually there but it did not stop this feeling of dread. But at least she fixed the hole next to the well, at least she got the two things she wanted to do today.
Garroth watches her retreat for the night and he believes he should do the same. Zenix gives him a weird look, asking about the lady in purple. Garroth explained what she did, earning a confused silence from them both. But it was night time, so they both headed to their respective houses and beds.

“You’ve taken quite an interest in this village for the past few days,” a man in a black coat mutters to the man in green and black. “Is there a reason why?” He pushed for an answer but the man in green and black stayed silent, only his eyes told because they glazed at the lady in purple. The man in the black coat frowns, scolding him, “You were just supposed to scout to see if the lord was dead.” He reminded him as well, “You weren’t ordered to stick around.”
The man of green and black still did not respond, it was easier for him. All these…people wanted a reaction to feed on. “Staying quiet, huh?” That condensing tone coming from the man in the black coat, knowing he would always keep quiet. “Whatever, what you do on your own free time is your business. My lord gives me your rations anyways. I’m out of here, try to not get caught.” He rubs the salt in the wound as he leaves. But the man of green and black just thinks, thank Irene.

Garroth is watching the lady in purple once more as she talks to the sky on top of a house. Maybe she suffers mentally, seeing things that aren’t there. Or maybe she was so alone before that she just had to pretend people were there to talk to now that she is in a habit of it. Whatever it was, it’s strange.
But something Garroth has seen and will mention once again. This lady in purple is strong, so strong she has carved stairs and got stone as pathways now. It was only her second day and she didn’t stop working. That would be concerning if she broke a sweat, but once again she didn’t. He doesn’t know if he should be impressed or fearful.
The lady in purple huffs, these villagers better be nice to her after her helping the pathways. She didn’t want others to come visit their town and be turned away! So it has to be all pretty and nice, and… it was getting there.
It’s ugly as shit
But it’s getting there one way or another, be sure of that.
What she is also sure of is that Emmalyn, an angry librarian, hates her, she hates her! And it was definitely not her fault either, Emmalyn is just a rude and uncaring person, she wouldn’t be surprised if the lord left from her attitude alone.
The lady in purple turns away from Emmalyn who is glaring at her in the window, and she turns to armoured guard. Who told her that his name is uhm, Garroth? His parents must hate him.
Garroth sighs a little when she turns to him, speaking up to her for once. “The streets look nicer, did you do this?” Well he knew she did, but he wanted to acknowledge her efforts, especially with her bickering around it. How can one girl yap so much?
The lady in purple smiles, not like the sun but more how you think a pink flower would smile, at him and nods. “I did do the streets, but I don’t know how to tell you that… so you’re gonna have to just assume.”
Garroth stares at her as she walks away, what.
What.
The lady in purple started to smelt some iron and talked out loud of her plans for today. Which entails exploring another village she found. She was surprised by the fact they were in the water, it must be cool to live on the water. She bets they have a cool system set up to be that way. Then she would check up on some of the villagers, especially the pretty girls that she calls the babes house.
While she was thinking she made a whole damn chest, she can feel the stares from Emmalyn who was reading a book and glaring up at her. Quite rude to stare but she is sure Emmalyn knows that. She started to dump items she had in her multiple pockets into the chest, taking the load off her thighs and calves. After a while the weight can wear you down, you know?
Emmalyn scoffs at the random lady in plum, she is just talking and talking and freaking talking! It’s like a broken toy that won’t stop going until you break it, and the only breaking that is happening is her silence and peace! She wanted this woman to leave her, yes her, house as soon as possible. So, threatening her seemed the best option possible. “I’m calling the guards if you bother me again.” And guess what she does, she fricking laughs in her face! In her face?!
Then the woman had the nerve to just laugh more than talk to herself again, which by the way is nowhere near sane and she might be from the nether herself. Saying lets leave Emmalyn alone, she is in no mood. No shoot! What did you think of that Einstein?! Maybe when she told you she would get the guards if you kept bothering her?! Maybe that was a hint!
The lady purple chuckles to herself a little as she heads outside and wanders the village. She was confused why she kept getting strange remarks and looks from the villagers, she hasn’t done anything wrong! Well, she did take away their well but that was for their own good. Sorry she didn’t want them to die, seems rather weird to get angry for that. She sounds like a parent, what is…a parent?
Garroth watches her start to leave the village and he sighs, he turns to see if Zenix is okay watching the village as he makes sure she doesn’t die or make another death. Zenix nods a little, yeah go ahead and watch the crazy girl that he never wants to talk to.
Garroth turned his head back and he had to audibly groan of confusion. She made a boat, he didn’t even look away for long but she made a boat. And he rather not swim all the way there, and he’ll bet that she will tell everyone and even people not there about it. So he’ll sit on the edge and watch her head over to the villages that were worse than they were.
Their system is fucked, the people were drowning.
The lady in purple thinks that as she rows to the village on water. How in the world did this happen? How did they even build this village like this?! They’re dumber than the well people! She was having a brain aneurysm.
Then her boat crashes and she has to evacuate before it takes her down with it, so she is in the cold ass water and swimming around with the people who had to be dodo birds in their last life. But it felt like riding a bike, whatever that is, when it came to swimming. It felt natural but natural as working with a machine that you can fix without seeing the manual.
Then she met Donna who sounded like a girl from the ranch. It was like a cowboy’s accent but sweeter and softer. It was adorable and she seemed eager to leave. “Do you have another town I could go to? Please,” She looks at the lady in purple who had a face that Donna just wanted to trust, she had to trust her. Then the relief when the girl in purple nods, and comes to her and helps her get into a boat that she built in literal seconds. Donna clinged to the lady in purple, she was saving her and Donna felt like she owed her one.
Garroth didn’t have to wait long to see the lady in purple come back, and nonetheless he sees a brown haired woman in the same boat of hers. Positive note the woman didn’t look upset or scared, she actually looked happy. Letting the lady ramble like a waterfall to her, and she actually responded. Maybe this will make the lady calm down with the words. Probably not
And on cue he can hear what the lady in purple thinks about where the brown haired woman came from, and the words were not pretty at all. Not very woman like either, but to be fair. This lady was a different type of woman. Garroth wonders what this different type of woman will be like, and what trouble she'll bring.
