Chapter Text
Vergilius was not having a good day. He has been tracking down a bloodfiend by the name of Venus. He knew he was in for a rough battle against a first kindred but it was going to be even more rough if he were exhausted.
"All of these beasts from L Corp keep getting in my way." The man complained as he continued his chase, slashing through abnormalities and destroying everything in his path.
Eventually he comes face to face with her, the one he'd been searching for, her teeth having just bloodied from eating off the face of the very same monsters that he's just been tearing through.
"Huh, so these things are human? Their blood is disgusting but it seems to quell the thirst just as good." The woman questioned as she viciously violated the creature with her teeth, tearing it's flesh and spilling it's blood, the Abnormality would be easy to take down for either of them but the nasty abilities of these creatures to mess with the mind and body at the same time was cause for concern.
"So we finally meet, Bloodfiend. I've been trying to kill you for months now." Vergilius stated exhaustedly, catching the woman's attention.
"Ah, a fixer yes? Sorry but I'm already eating and too much food only makes the thirst worst." The woman, no creature said with a grin of blood painted onto her face.
Vergilius moved to strike her down but suddenly spears of red fire from all sides. [So she can create weapons of blood] vergilius realized that he was in for a tough fight, why on earth was he chosen to hunt her down? Why not Fanghunt Office who specializes in bloodfiends? Regardless of what Vergilius has to strike her down and so he strikes away as many spears as he can, only to find that the blood is boiling hot and almost sets fire.
"Oh. So your weapons are liquid huh?" The man questioned as he kicked himself forward to strike at her, only to be bound by a rope of liquid red boiling all the same.
Pain was irrelevant, he needed to find a way to defeat her. He managed to tear off the rope of blood and pushed back wards off the ground. As the woman continued to fire simple spears of blood to knock him back. Vergilius knew he'd probably lose his life here but he decided to find anything in this defunct L Corp branch that could help him.
To his desperation he picked up a large hammer and rushed her down, not even caring to defend anymore, he is simply overcome with an urge compelled by a voice from the hammer.
[There's a big scary monster in this forest, let's hunt it together.]
Vergilius could simply sense the voice but he felt it's intent and swung, a large explosion of black erupted from the hammer as he did so, channeling power from a Lobotomy Corporation E.G.O. Gear isn't something easy to do especially without prior knowledge, had vergilius not been similar to it's previous wielder at the time he wouldn't be able to unleash black damage from the weapon so easily. Black Damage affects the mind and body and can destroy them both at the same time. However what Vergilius figured is that instead of hitting a hungry first kindred, it's best to go all out on the mental side. This next attack was net with one of the Bloodfiend Elder's own her patience having run thin and her eyes a light with pain. Vergilius brings the hammer down just as fast as she strikes, and the following explosion shakes the ten miles around the defunct facility. The hammer shattered apart but the attack connected.
"You little shit, I swear I'll... Huh. I don't feel hungry anymore."
"What the fuck?" The words alone surprise the man shocking him out of his fighting stance. An amateur mistake as the temporary drop in guard is enough to allow her to close the distance and get right in his face.
"What did you do to me?" She questioned her eyes still shined red however deep beneath it was nothing, there was no feverish hunger beneath them like the others, her bloodlust, or the part of her mind that agonizes over the hunger was gone, the psychological needs of a Bloodfiend were gone.
"Dunno, I never used a power like that." While he could tell she had the same power as before if anything only a little weakened due to the low physical output, he realized that by focusing his power on the mental plain he might've removed what made her suffer all this time. Effectively she's no longer a Bloodfiend.
[No that's wrong. She still needs to drink blood to live].
But since he is no longer in immediate threat due to her lack of bloodlust, a solution cane to mind.
" Hey." He said monotonously.
"Wanna crash at my orphanage?"
"WHAT?!"
"What?"
