Chapter Text
The story diverged right here, in this bunker where Bloodmoon was recreated. Ruin going over the code that would bring about the twin, Harvest, upon activation. Ruin would have triple checked the code, would have caught the slight error and fixed it before it could grow and fester.
In this dimension, he didn’t, he missed it. The slight error grew to become a source of pure agony for Harvest. By the time Ruin realized it, it was far too late. For the twins awoke moments later, one screaming in agony as his other frantically searched for the source of his twin’s pain.
Harvest was in unimaginable pain, unable to process what was happening to him. His implanted memories were far out of his reach so he couldn’t even recall his name. But his other, he knows of him, knows how much he cares for him. So he held out for his twin, not wanting to leave him alone, seeking comfort.
Crimson had demanded Ruin to fix it, to fix his brother. And Ruin did try, oh did he try. But days were passing and nothing was working. Agony was to be Harvest’s life now, and he could not bear the thought of living like this.
“Kill me!” Harvest once screamed at his other, his form in the mindscape nothing more than a clump of red colored data in the form of an animatronic. “Kill me! End this!”
Crimson was frozen solid, torn in two between his desire to relieve his other’s pain, and to keep him still so he wouldn’t be alone.
But we all know what Crimson chose in the end, though perhaps not in the way you may expect.
Crimson absorbed his brother’s code, integrating the damaged being into his own. So he may always have a small piece of his brother forever imprinted into his very soul. No longer did Bloodmoon refer to two different beings, but a singular entity. Similar yet oh so different from Ruin himself.
Bloodmoon fled that place, giving Ruin a rather nasty injury on the way out. He had no desire to stay in such a place nor to stick around the one who caused his brother so much suffering. It didn’t matter that it was a mistake, it cost his brother's life. He had no desire to stay and possibly be ruined by the very being who made such pain and anguish in the first place.
So he fled, far away from Ruin and the eyes of the many shows that taped their lives. Disappeared entirely, though he will be seen again at some point. Just much, much later in the time-line.
