Work Text:
Your head dropped back against the computer chair, your growling stomach past the threshold of comfortable.
You were a data entry specialist for the Detroit Police Department and for the most part, you enjoyed your job. You mindlessly typed away at a computer all day and had minimal interaction with other beings beyond a file being dropped onto your small desk. You were left alone, disappearing seamlessly into the background amongst the loud officers. Conversing easily with others was not among your talents nor your needs.
You pushed yourself away from your desk with a sigh, shuffling towards the DPD break room. You had hoped to quickly grab a snack and return to your little desk without incident but you were in no such luck today.
As you turned the corner an unfamiliar figure caught your sight.
A tall man stood with his back to you at the coffee machine clad in a dark blazer with a glowing blue arm band.
An android?
You could count on one hand the amount of times you'd interacted with an android.
His head lifted as you cautiously entered the room. As soon as he spotted you he gave you a polite nod.
"Hello, my name is Connor. I'm the android sent by Cyberlife," a smooth voice greeted you.
Oh.
You paused in your steps. You had never seen an android like him before. And certainly never one this handsome. His smooth face was adorned with an aquiline nose and a sharp jawline, small freckles dotted his cheeks and warm brown eyes pinned you in place.
The LED on his temple spun yellow and his brow furrowed slightly at your stunned silence.
Pull yourself together.
You shook yourself out of your daze.
"Hi," you stuttered out a reply, giving him your name. "I work in data entry."
Smooth.
"It's nice to meet you." His mouth curved into an awkward half smile that was boyishly charming. It made your heart stutter.
"You too," you smiled. You fidgeted with your hands as you both stood there.
The android opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by the beeping of the coffee maker. He hesitated a moment before turning to fill a mug with hot coffee. You dropped your head and let out a breath you didn't realize you were holding, momentarily relieved to have his attention off of you.
"I better get this to Lieutenant Anderson. He can get... unmanageable without his coffee." He winked at you as he turned to leave the room. "I'll see you around," he said warmly.
"Bye, Connor," you replied, fighting the goofy grin creeping onto your face.
You stood there staring after his disappearing form until you remembered your initial task.
You walked back to your desk clutching a bag of chips to your chest as you finally smiled to yourself.
. . . . .
Connor gingerly set the steaming mug on Hank's desk then sat down in his own chair, staring off into space.
Hank watched him.
"Who was that?" he asked gruffly.
Connor's head snapped to him, lost for words as the older man rolled his eyes.
"The girl you were talking to in the break room. Who was she?" he clarified.
"She works in data entry," Connor replied dumbly, mentally scheduling a diagnostic on his racing thirium pump.
Hank gave him a suspicious glare as the android avoided his eyes.
"Right," he dismissed with an eye roll, grabbing the mug of coffee.
Fucking androids.
Connor sat stiffly in his chair, his LED flashing yellow as his eyes drifted to the break room.
. . . . .
Over the next few days you couldn’t help the way your eyes wandered the precinct in search of a certain android.
Usually you're thankful that your little workspace is at the back of the building far away from the hectic bullpen. But now you were less likely to run into the cute android. You quickly gave up hope of ever running into him.
You were at your desk late one night trying to finish your work before the weekend. Only a few stragglers remained in the precinct. You were startled out of your daze by the utterance of your name in a sickeningly familiar voice. Your heart jumped in your chest. You tore your gaze from the screen to see Connor approaching your desk.
"Hi, Connor," you breathed out.
"Hello. I didn't think I'd run into you this late," he said pleasantly.
"I got a little behind this week. I'm just finishing a few things up."
Connor leaned casually against your desk, inadvertently looming over you. Your cheeks warmed at his proximity.
"Forgive me if this is improper but my sensors have noticed that your heart rate increases around me. I want to reassure you that I mean you no harm."
Your stomach dropped in mortification.
Oh my god.
"No I-no. It's not that," you stuttered over your words. "I just-"
Connor tilted his head cutely as you floundered.
"I'm just not used to talking to..."
"Androids?"
"Handsome guys," you muttered.
Connor blinked. The LED on his temple spun yellow.
"God, I'm sorry. Just pretend I never said anything," you whimpered as you buried your head in your hands.
"It's okay. My appearance was specifically designed to facilitate my integration with humans." His programmed words did nothing to lessen your embarrassment. "And..." he continued.
You looked up to see a soft expression adorning his face.
"I also happen to find you especially pretty." He smiled.
Your mouth gaped around stunted words, butterflies swirling in your stomach as your heart skipped a beat.
Who was this android?
His unwavering gaze overwhelmed you and you averted your eyes, biting your lip.
Was he flirting with you? Is he even programmed to do that?
"Thank you, Connor," you said bashfully. You weren't used to this kind of attention and you nervously wrung your hands together, nails digging into your palm. You missed the small quirk of his lips.
"I'll let you get back to your work. I hope you have a lovely evening," he said, adjusting his tie as he stood straight. Your eyes watched the movement of his hands, a blush creeping up your neck at the action.
"Goodnight, Connor."
"Goodnight," he murmured.
. . . . .
Throughout the next week, you found it increasingly difficult to focus on your work. Your mind constantly drifted to Connor. You only saw him in passing, your gazes naturally finding each other in the busy precinct. You would always break first, turning away with a smile on your face. He made your heart race like no one ever had.
You thought about his kind eyes as you made your way to the break room.
"Hey, bring me a coffee, Dipshit."
You internally rolled your eyes at the grading voice of Detective Reed echoing from the very room you were walking to.
Great.
He was the last person you wanted to see at any time.
"Get a move on!"
You felt bad for whoever was on the receiving end of his abuse this time.
"I'm sorry, but I only take orders from Lieutenant Anderson."
Your stomach dropped at the familiar voice you had grown so fond of. Your pace quickened, heart racing as you rounded the corner just in time to see Reed reel back and punch Connor in the gut.
"Hey!" you yelled as Connor crumpled to his knees. You quickly slotted yourself between them defensively, staring hard at Reed.
"What's wrong with you? Leave him alone!"
The man stared incredulously at you, taken aback at your passion.
"Oh, excuse me, Sweetheart," he scoffed. "I didn't realize you cared so much about this toy."
You ignored him as you grasped Connor's arm to help him up, your concern obvious in your expression.
"Are you okay, Connor?"
Connor straightened up, adjusting his tie with his free hand. You reluctantly let go of his arm.
"I'm fine."
"See? He's fine, Sweetheart," Gavin sneered behind you.
Connor's LED spun red as his eyes moved from you to the detective, a dangerous glint in his eyes.
"That is not her name," he said firmly.
Your brow practically shot up to your hairline at his defensive tone. A sudden spark of attraction raced down your spine.
"Excuse me, prick?"
Connor looked down his nose at the man as he reached his arm out to sweep you behind him. The protective gesture warmed you to the core. Your surroundings melted to the background; you only had eyes for Connor.
"I said: that's not her name. Basic respect dictates that we address each other by our given names."
You reached out to grasp his arm; a silent reassurance that it was okay. Reed watched you with astonishment.
"You know what? I'm tired of your lip you plastic piece of shit. I'll call her whatever the fuck I want."
"Not while I'm around," Connor bit out dangerously.
Jesus.
Your nervous giggle cut the tension in the air. Connor looked down at you, his tense face melting into a small smile as you slapped a hand over your mouth. Gavin looked between you and the android in disgust before approaching quickly.
"How about I settle this now you fucking-"
"That's enough, Detective," a gruff voice broke the air. All of you turned to see Lieutenant Anderson casually leaning against the doorway. His brow raised in surprise at your hand on Connor's arm. You dropped your hand immediately.
Gavin scoffed. "Whatever. S'not worth my time."
The man stormed off leaving just you, Connor, and a curious Hank in the room.
He looked at Connor.
"The fuck was that all about," he asked flippantly. "I thought I told you to stay away from him, Connor."
"I'm sorry, Lieutenant. It wasn't my intention to interact with him, but he was being persistent." You giggled at his diplomatic answer.
"You alright, miss?" Hank peeked at you around Connor.
"I'm fine," you said, doing your best not to look at Connor again. "I'll just get back to my work."
You made a quick exit from the room, squeezing past the Lieutenant.
Hank gaped at Connor as the android's eyes followed you out of the room. The clues were starting to come together on why the android seemed so distracted lately. Looks like Connor's got a crush. He decided to pry anyway.
"The hell's going on with you?"
Connor snapped his attention back to Hank, a phantom sensation of embarrassment burned the back of his neck.
"I was looking for you when I ran into Detective Reed. That's all."
The man gave him a quizzical look. "And the girl? You like her don't you?"
Connor's mind scrambled for the right words, a software instability warning slashing through his thoughts.
"I-I find her pleasant to talk to," he admitted.
"Uh-huh. Sure." Hank walked away from the flustered android, internally rolling his eyes.
. . . . .
You tightened the heavy coat around you as you exited the warmth of the lobby. You sighed at the icy streets and crisp wind of a typical Detroit winter night. Although living within walking distance of work was convenient, the weather didn't always make it pleasant. Your mood picked up at the sight of a familiar android approaching you. He was wearing his usual attire, a stark difference to your bundled form.
"Hi, Connor," you greeted warmly.
"Good evening. Heading home for the night?"
"Yes, thankfully." You hugged your arms close to your body at a particularly biting breeze.
Connor looked over your bundled form.
"Would you find it agreeable if I escorted you home? I'd like to make sure you get there safely in these conditions."
You smiled nervously. You'd agree to just about anything just to keep him close.
"That would be fine, thank you."
Connor smiled and gestured down the street. "Lead the way."
You chatted together comfortably as you walked the familiar path home. You talked about the current book you were reading and Connor told you about some of his more exciting chases out on the field. You couldn't take your eyes off of his animated face as he told you about hunting a deviant in an apartment full of pigeons.
As you turned a corner your boot slid on a patch of ice and you swayed backwards with a gasp. "Whoa-"
A pair of arms caught around your waist and pulled you. You squeaked as you slammed into a solid chest, your heart racing as your hands settled on his lapels. Your breath left you as you dared a glance up at his face not realizing how close it would be.
Connor stared down at you with a stormy haze in his eyes.
His LED spun red.
Your heart sputtered in your chest. Small puffs of air left your lips as you braced against his chest feeling the soft beats of his thirium pump.
His hands tightened on your waist.
"Connor," you breathed.
His eyes flickered to your parted lips briefly.
A car screeching past on the street snapped you both out of your daze, jumping away from each other as if burned.
"I'm glad I was here," Connor said, straightening out his jacket with shaking hands.
"Me too," you chuckled nervously.
The two of you continued down the street and by the time you made it to your apartment snow had started to drizzle down.
You breathed out as you stomped your snowy boots on the door mat. The porch offered a small shelter from the elements.
"I guess we made it just in time," you said.
"I agree." Connor looked out at the bleary night.
You hesitated momentarily before finding your voice. "Would you like to come in for a bit?"
You shuffled your feet as the android mulled over the request.
"Yes. I would love to."
Relief flooded your body along with a renewed set of nerves. You turned to unlock the door, letting the two of you into the warm foyer. You shook off your heavy coat and removed your boots as Connor seemingly analyzed the room. You blushed at the slight disarray of your quaint space. Books spilled out of the shelves and several abandoned mugs sat on the coffee table. You thanked your past self for at least putting your cleaned dishes away this morning.
"Sorry about the mess," you said as you hurriedly picked up books off the floor. "I don't usually have company...ever."
"You have a lovely home."
"Thank you," you murmured, settling yourself on one end of the loveseat. He glanced at the bookshelf as he did the same.
"I see you are an avid reader, specifically for the romance genre," he stated matter-of-factually.
Your cheeks burned and you chuckled nervously. "Yes, they're my favorite."
"Why?"
You tucked your legs underneath you as Connor turned to face you casually.
"I don't know. I guess I like reading about falling in love even if I don't get to experience it."
Stop talking.
"I see."
Silence settled and you cleared your throat. "Thank you, by the way; for the other day."
Connor tilted his head in confusion.
"In the break room," you clarified.
Recognition graced his features. "You don't need to thank me."
"I do. No one's stood up for me like that before."
"Nor I."
You looked up at Connor in surprise.
"In my experience, not many people would have intervened at someone harassing an android. But you did. So thank you." The soft sincerity in his voice melted you into a puddle on the couch. "I'd say we look out for each other in that way."
You giggled breathlessly as you wrung your hands. You found it difficult to keep your eyes on the captivating android.
A large pair of hands appeared in your sight, grasping yours in a gentle hold. Your head snapped up in surprise. He had scooted closer to you on the couch. The proximity of him made you lightheaded.
"You seem to do that with your hands when you're nervous or unsure. Usually around me," he admitted softly. He squeezed your hands. "Why do I make you nervous?"
You floundered for words before you decided to tell him the truth.
"I-I really like you, Connor. And I know I shouldn't because I'm a human and you're an android. And I don't even know if you can like me back and even if you could why would you like me and-"
A hand on your jaw silenced your rambling. Connor's eyes searched yours.
"I was not originally programmed to feel and certainly not to feel attraction or love."
Your eyes closed in disappointment, rejection burning in your throat.
"But I have developed feelings for you that my software can't compute."
Your head snapped up.
"I've struggled with my deviancy ever since the revolution. But nothing has made me feel more comfortable and more human than being with you."
You were stunned into silence at the sweet androids admission.
He liked you.
Connor tilted his head.
"Your heart is racing."
Before you could respond, the hand on your jaw moved down to rest right above your heart. You sucked in air, subconsciously arching into his touch. With his other hand he brought yours to his own chest, tucking them under his blazer and pressing on the spot where you could feel the soft beats of his thirium pump.
Is this what it feels like to love and be loved?
You pressed your hand harder against him and his eyes slipped closed leaning into your hold.
"Can I kiss you?" his voice was rough and unsure.
"Please," you breathed.
You had never kissed an android before much less even touched one. But the moment your lips touched all of your worries melted away. His lips were surprisingly soft and they moved smoothly against yours. Your hands dragged up his chest to tangle in his perfect hair and a small noise left his throat. You felt his lithe hands curl around your form and smooth over your back. The intimate hold invigorated you as you eagerly returned his kiss. He pulled you impossibly closer, his hands dragging your sweater up your back. A warm hand dragged over the bare skin and you gasped into his mouth. You caught his lower lip with your teeth before soothing over it tentatively with your tongue.
A rough groan escaped his throat as he pushed you back flat on the couch, invading your mouth with his tongue as he slotted himself between your thighs. You whimpered as his hips dragged into yours sending sparks up your spine and you pulled back with a gasp.
The android's usually perfectly styled hair was tousled from your hands, stray curls hanging over his forehead. A bluish tint blossomed across his cheeks in a cute blush and his eyes were hazy with desire as they stared down at you. You're positive you didn't look much different.
He seemed to shake from his daze and he looked to you with concern, his LED spinning yellow.
"Is everything alright?"
"Yes! Yes, I'm fine. It's just..." You trailed off in embarrassment. "I've just never done this before."
"Neither have I."
Your eyes fluttered to his in surprise.
"Could've fooled me!"
Connor chuckled at your astonishment.
"I have an encyclopedic knowledge of human behavior right here." He tapped his temple with a wink and you giggled. He schooled his expression into something more serious.
"I also know that it's common practice for individuals to save themselves for someone special."
Your heart melted at his words. You cupped his cheek to bring his gaze back to you.
"You are someone special, Connor."
His LED whirred blue as he gave you a brilliant smile, leaning down to leave a gentle kiss on your cheek. Your hands slid over his shoulders under his blazer, your intent clear. He sat up on his knees to slip the blazer off and to the floor. His hands worked at loosening his tie as you bit your lip, fighting a smile as he winked at you.
Cheeky android.
He loomed over you again tentatively fingering along the hem of your sweater. You nodded and he dragged it up your body agonizingly slow, baring more and more skin to the cool air. His eyes roved over your torso seemingly committing it to memory and you fought the urge to cross your arms. By the time your sweater joined the growing pile on the floor your skin burned under his intense gaze and your chest heaved.
"So pretty," he sighed to himself.
"Connor," you whined reaching for him.
He fell into your arms easily but instead of going for a kiss he latched onto your neck making you gasp. Your hands flew to his hair as he licked down the column of your throat.
"Your skin is so sweet," he murmured against you. You could only respond with a whimper of his name. His head slumped heavily onto your shoulder, his mouth dropping open in a gravely moan.
"I love the way you say my name."
The velvety timber of his voice licked down your spine adding to the growing heat between your hips. Words were lost on you as you panted into his hair, your hands tugging harder on the strands. He groaned at the sensation and his hands flew to the collar of his shirt, deft fingers making quick work of the buttons. He leaned up to shrug out of the shirt giving you a perfect view of his flawless torso. Pale, unblemished skin stretched taut over the lean muscles of his torso. A slight flush of blue blossomed under the skin of his chest matching the hue of his cheeks.
"Oh, Connor," you sighed dreamily, dragging your hands over the solid planes of his stomach. His eyes slid shut at your touch. He grasped your wrist, bringing it up to his mouth to ghost his lips along the veins. You shivered. His eyes seemed a tinge darker when they opened; the soft brown had melted to a shadowy black.
"Please." What exactly you were pleading was lost on you for Connor moved with a renewed vigor. He shucked your bra off before palming your breasts. Your fingers dug into the fabric of the couch as he massaged and smoothed his hands over your chest, his attention zeroed in on it. He broke his trance to look into your eyes as he teasingly dipped his finger into the waistband of your pants, popping the fabric onto your skin. You jumped at the sensation and he chuckled. He shifted down to cup the backs of your knees, slinging a leg over him to rest both against his shoulder. Your hips were lifted off of the couch and a rush of air left you at the bulge that brushed against it.
Thank God, he does have one.
The android continued to hold your gaze as he dragged your pants and underwear off of you and you lay completely bare below him. Shivers wracked down your spine and his LED spun violently red as he drank in your exposed form.
"Fuck," he groaned.
Before you could react, he slotted himself back between your thighs, propping himself up on an elbow next to your head. His deft fingers crept between your hips and butterflies erupted at his touch. He dropped his forehead to your shoulder with a groan as he reached your center, dipping between your folds. Your face burned at the slide.
"So wet," he whispered.
Your hands shot to his forearm. The tendons under his skin shifted beneath your vice-like grip as he explored your folds. His middle finger slipped past your walls punching a sharp gasp out of you.
"Easy, easy," he purred into your ear.
Yet for all of his bravado, you felt the subtle grind of his hips into your inner thigh. He needed you just as badly.
You sought his lips out for a messy kiss as he added another finger, swallowing your gasps. He pumped his hand agonizingly slow and you clutched his firm shoulders at the delicious drag of his fingers. The heat emanating off the android was enough to choke you and you pulled back to look into his hazy eyes.
"I need you. Please, Connor," you whined. He nodded, a small smirk painting his lips at your desperation. He pulled his fingers from you and paused. Your brow furrowed.
"What's wro-"
He promptly brought them up to his mouth and, before you could protest he shoved them past his lips.
"Oh my god, Connor!"
His eyes slid closed with a moan as he took in your essence. You buried your face in your hands as embarrassment burned your skin, unaware of the fondness blooming in his chest. The salacious clink of a belt brought your mind back to the present and you peaked from behind your hands to see Connor undoing his jeans with hurried movements. He pushed the material down far enough to release himself.
Oh.
You would have to ponder later what earthly reason Cyberlife would have to endow a detective android like that. He grunted as he grasped himself, dragging it through the mess between your thighs. A shaky breath left your lips and the android looked up at you with a gentle expression.
"Tell me to stop and I will."
Warmth spread through your chest at his quiet words.
"Don't stop," you breathed. "Please."
That was all the android needed to gently push himself into you. You groaned in unison as he slowly buried himself until his hips were nestled between your thighs. He paused, eyes squeezed shut and mouth dropped open in sweet agony. You shook around him as you adjusted to the intrusion, hands grabbing desperately at the cushion beneath you in a white knuckle grip. A mixture of hot pleasure and pain set your nerves alight and your chest heaved.
Connor watched you closely as you squirmed beneath him. Blaring warnings flashed violently in his subconscious as he struggled to process the brand new sensations. He never could have predicted it would feel like this. He slowly pulled himself out to thrust back into you, the gasps escaping your parted lips filling him with more heat. He groaned at the tight drag of your walls around him and he hitched your thigh further up his waist to thrust sharply into you.
Your head threw back violently at the change of angle. Connor stared wantonly at you as your back arched deliciously off the couch, your hands clawing for purchase above your head. He grasped at your waist, fingers digging into your back as he sped up his movements.
You felt a dull ache slowly seep up from between your hips, a sharp heat traveling along your nerves. You fought to open your heavy lids and watch the way the android fell apart above you. A few tousled curls framed his forehead, a deep crease between his eyebrows emphasizing the tautness of his face. His teeth grit together as strained moans tore from his throat. The muscles in his torso corded and seized as he drove into you at a punishing pace. You could do nothing but toss your head back and howl his name, your hands pulling him closer to scratch violently down his back.
Connor loomed over you, propping himself up with one hand and the other tightly gripping the soft flesh of your hip. He buried his face into your sweaty neck, desperately sucking air into his overheated body.
"I'm not gonna last," he ground out. You could only whine his name in response, the knot in your hips tightening further. You only lasted a few more bruising thrusts before the rope of your resolve snapped with a violent release, a scream tearing out of your throat. Your back arched off of the couch as the powerful waves of your orgasm tore through your body, your nails lacerating the artificial skin of his back.
Connor groaned at your obscene display, thrusting violently into you before his own release pried apart the small tendrils of control he had left. He slammed himself into you, the bruising grip on your hip trapping you to him as he latched his teeth onto your shoulder with a ragged groan. He ground his hips into you as his muscles seized and you whimpered in sensitivity.
A quiet settled over the room save for your gasping breaths as you both slowly drifted down from the high. Connor laved sloppy kisses over your throat as you giggled tiredly. He appeared in front of your face, a lazy smile gracing his lips. You were sure you mirrored his expression.
"I see the appeal now," he said. You playfully batted his chest and he chuckled lowly.
His eyes slipped closed as he rested his forehead against yours. Your hands slid to the sides of his neck as you basked in the afterglow. The usual cacophony of Downtown Detroit faded to a soft hum in the background, the wind and snow blurring past the windows.
You pulled the android to your smiling lips, his curving up in the same way.
. . . . .
"Connor."
"Connor!"
The android jumped in his seat, pulling his gaze away from the screen to stare at the man across from him.
"Sorry, Lieutenant. What were you saying?"
"Jesus, Connor. What's going on with you? It's like I've been talking to a wall all morning," Hank griped.
"I'm sorry, Lieutenant. I guess I'm a little...distracted today," Connor admitted with a weak shrug.
The older man squinted at him. "I didn't know you could even get distracted."
Connor tore his eyes away as another vivid memory of last night drifted into his mind; the way you moaned and arched for him, the way your nails tore down his back, the sleepy smile you gave him afterwards.
His jaw clenched tightly.
Movement in his periphery caught his attention. His thirium pump stuttered as you appeared on the other side of the precinct, walking quickly with files clutched tightly to your chest. Your eyes immediately darted to his and you bit your lip to dampen the goofy smile threatening to overtake your face, hand subconsciously closing over the teeth shaped mark hidden under your shirt. The corner of his lip twitched up, a warmth filling up the space of his chest.
Hank followed his gaze and his brows flew up to his hairline, his eyes flitting between the android and the girl.
"Looks like someone found his fucking balls."
"Lieutenant!"
