Work Text:
All Mitchell wanted was for his older sister to be happy. And as a son of Aphrodite, he knew the best way to make that happen: to get Silena a girlfriend.
He already knew that Silena had a crush on someone, but the much harder part was trying to find a way to get the two of them together. Silena's crush was on Clarisse, and he didn't even know if Clarisse liked women, let alone if she liked Silena. He had his suspicions, but didn't know for sure. Mitchell really hoped she was gay, or even bi, because it would really suck for Silena to be crushing on a straight girl.
From his observations, his sister was already crazy about Clarisse. Doodling her name with hearts around it in her notebook, staring at her from across the dining pavilion, and doing basically everything to hang out with her. If they got together, he would finally be free from having to watch her pine over someone, and from having to listen to how cute Clarisse was.
They were already friends, so Mitchell didn't think it would be too hard for him to find an excuse to make Silena confess her feelings. But first, he wanted to find out if Silena even had a chance of getting with Clarisse at all
…
While he was wandering around camp the next day, Mitchell spotted something in the window of the Ares cabin. A small bi pride flag was sitting in a cup on the window ledge, right above Clarisse's bunk. This confirmed that Clarisse actually had a chance to like his sister! Now all he had to do was come up with a plan.
…
A few hours later, Mitchell had finally gotten an idea. Both Clarisse and Silena volunteered in the infirmary together every Wednesday, usually helping out with minor injuries and paperwork. While they were grabbing supplies from one of the closets, he (with one of the medic's help) would lock the two of them in there until one of them confessed. The only issue was, he had a swordfighting class in the arena, on the opposite side of camp, 15 minutes after their shift in the infirmary started. That was why he needed one of the medics to help.
Mitchell decided to walk over to the infirmary, knowing that Lee owed him, especially since he helped out with the Incident last week.
"Hey, Lee! Can I talk to you for a sec?" Michael asked as he walked in, seeing that for once, Lee wasn't patching someone up.
"Sure man, what do you need? Please don't tell me you're injured, we're swamped today.". Lee always looked tired, but today, he looked tired. Capture the flag was yesterday, and there were still some campers recovering from their numerous injuries .
"Y'know how I helped you out with the Incident last week in the arena, and you said that you owed me one?" Mitchell starts "Well, I think I'm going to cash that favor in."
"Fine," Lee sighs "What do you need?"
…
Back in his cabin, right before bed, Mitchell goes over his plan again one more time. Lee had agreed to help him out by being the one to let Clarisse and Silena out of the closet once one of them had revealed their feelings, since Mitchell would have to be in the arena at that point, and he would feel bad for leaving his sister in a closet for over an hour.
He just hoped that this plan would work. Silena of all people deserved a girlfriend, especially with how many people she had helped to get together, even if that possible girlfriend could be a bit mean at times.
…
The next day, as Mitchell walks into the infirmary, he hears Silena and Clarisse bickering before he sees them. Not in a mean way, they just liked to have petty arguments every now and then.
"You know I'm right, you're just being fucking stubborn." Clarisse says.
Mitchell didn't know what they were fighting about, and honestly, he didn't want to know. He walked over to them, trying to get their attention without seeming too suspicious.
"Silena, Clarisse, can you come help with with something? I left one of my books in the supply closet last time I helped out here, can you guys help me find it?" Mitchell asks, trying to sound casual. He really didn't want to make them catch onto his plan.
Silena, being the best sister after, immediately agreed.
"Sure! C'mon Clarisse, it'll get us out of doing this stupid paperwork anyway."
Mitchell watches Clarisse nod, and he leads them to the supply closet.
"Thanks! I'm pretty sure I left it by those boxes." Mitchell says, grabbing the door
As they walk in, he quickly slams the door behind them, locking it quickly.
"You're not being let out until Silena confesses," Mitchell says, "and since I have to be swordfighting in the arena soon, you're also going to have so wait for Lee to be the one to let you out."
"Mitchell! You fucking asshole! Let us out right now or I swear I'll kill you!" Yells Clarisse as she bangs on the door.
"Clarisse, calm down. I'm sure Mitchell will let us out, right? Right Mitchell?"
"Sorry Silena, I'm tired of listening to you pine over her. Anyway, I'll see you later!" Mitchell walks away and hands the key to the supply closet to Lee.
"Make sure to let them out eventually, okay? I don't want my sister to be mad at me. And if Silena's mad at me….I don't want to see how Clarisse will act." Said Mitchell to Lee quietly, not wanting to disrupt the rest the some of the patients in the infirmary were getting.
"Yeah, yeah, I will. See you around."
…
Later that day, as Mitchell was reading a fashion magazine in his bunk, the door swung open
"Mitchell! What the hell was that?" Silena storms in, throwing herself onto the bunk across from his.
"I was trying to help! You've been pining over Clarisse for so long, it's annoying! And I thought if you got a girlfriend, you'd be happier. So…how did it go?" Mitchell asked nervously. He really wanted this to have gone well.
"Oh my gods, it was the best! She kissed me! Seriously, she's such a good kisser. And then she-"
"Sorry Silena, but I really don't want to hear about how good of a kisser Clarisse La Rue is. But… are you two together now? Because it sounds like you are."
"I think so? I mean, I never really asked. I kind of just assumed we were." Silena said sheepishly. "I mean, I hope we are."
"Go ask her! You idiot lesbians." Mitchell cries. He didn't know that she could be so stupid. Then again, he had been her sister for so long, he shouldn't have been surprised.
