It’s Not Need, It’s Want

Summary:

Katsuki shoved his way into the room, making Izuku bristle for a moment before he relaxed. Any omega would be territorial if someone barged into their room, but Izuku was conscious enough to realize Katsuki was not a threat. He would never be threatened by Kacchan but he might get aggravated if Katsuki provoked him.

But this was anything but aggravating. Katsuki sat Izuku back into his nest as he rummaged around in his tote bag.

Or

Katsuki and Izuku are both omegas who need company during their heats. Over the years, they have helped each other get comfortable when they are going into heat, that comforting feeling slowly turning into something more.

Work Text:

Elegant yet powerful.

Katsuki’s arms equipped to the weight of his gauntlets, feet planted and shoulders hunched as he pulled the pin of his right bracer, aimed directly at one of Ectoplasm’s clones. He let out a piercing scream, overpowered by the sound of the blast. His stance was pushed back a few feet from the force while the clone was nowhere to be seen.

Katsuki let out a heated breath, his abdomen quivering with built-up tension from the intense training.

Izuku watched back muscles ripple and pecs heave with effort as Katsuki adjusted to the pain his explosion had caused. The blonde heaved and clicked his gauntlet off before dropping heavily to the ground next to it.

Observant as ever, Izuku’s brow knitted when he noticed the tremor in Katsuki’s right arm. He couldn’t stop his feet from moving as he trotted to his friend, his breath catching when he noticed more tremors the closer he got.

But before he pointed out Katsuki’s pain, Izuku knew to praise him first. It came naturally to him anyway. “Kacchan!” he chirped as he approached. “That was amazing! Even bigger than last time. I think you’re getting even bet—”

“Stop looking at my arm,” Katsuki scoffed as he slipped off his gloves and massaged his scarred fingers.

Izuku’s heart skipped a beat and his smiled faltered. With a slow breath, he sat down next to Katsuki on the ground. “Sorry. You know me too well.”

“You're terrible at hiding your pity,” the explosive hero’s nose squirmed in annoyance, something close to hurt behind his eyes. Not from the pain of the explosion. No, Izuku knew this was something else.

“You're strong, Kacchan,” Izuku smiled softly. Not pitifully, but knowing. “You can already make huge explosions with your right arm and you're less than a month into physical therapy.”

Katsuki grunted and shifted away from Izuku. “Still hurts.”

“That’'s how you know your arm still works. It's what lets you know you're going to heal,” Izuku’s smile grew and he grabbed Katsuki's hand, rubbing his thumbs into his palms. “At this rate, you’ll be completely healed in a week or less.”

The blonde grumbled and let his hand go slack between Izuku’s fingers. “Geez, nerd, you're always so sappy.”

“And Kacchan’s always grumpy,” Izuku grinned, running his fingers over Katsuki’s scars absently. They sat knee to knee for a long moment after, relishing in a comfortable silence.

Izuku sighed deeply through his nose, his heart rate increasing. Not from anything in particular. In fact, it was nothing at all. Even Katsuki’s hand in his wasn't bothering him or flustering him. He let out a soft hum, the back of his neck sweating and tickling with goosebumps at the same time.

“I should get back to training,” Katsuki grumbled as he stretched his arms above his head. “What are ya gonna do? I could use a punching bag.”

Izuku rolled his eyes and shoved Katsuki’s shoulder. “Idiot. I could beat you quirkless.”

“Wanna bet?” Katsuki grinned, shooting to his feet.

Katsuki pulled his arms behind his head one by one as Izuku staggered to his feet. He felt his legs wobble and his scent change subtly. A change so small that only someone who truly knew him could tell.

“Hey,” Katsuki glared. Not harsh, but firm. “Focus. Something wrong?”

“Nah, just a bit of vertigo I guess,” Izuku shrugged as he popped his neck.

“Bull shit, you smell different,” Katsuki snapped, his eyes sharp.

Izuku’s heart stuttered, his nose straining to sniff out his new smell. He tucked his nose into his shoulder, trying to sniff his scent gland above his collarbone. “I don’t—”

He choked out a gasp when Katsuki poked his scent gland, causing an ache in his skin and a pleasurable burn in his brain.

“Smells different. You in heat?” Katsuki asked bluntly, making Izuku’s face heat up as if he had swallowed a hot coal.

“I-I don’t—” Izuku stumbled over his words. “Maybe? Don’t poke my scent gland…”

“Go back to the dorms,” Katsuki patted Izuku’s shoulder roughly.

Izuku flinched at the impact, letting out an involuntary squeak. “I still have plenty of the school day to get through. I’ll be fine.”

Katsuki sighed deeply but shrugged in response. “If you can tough it out, sure. You got suppressants?”

“Nope.”

“Oh my fuck, go home,” Katsuki sighed.

At first Izuku thought Katsuki might have been wrong about his heat. That maybe he was just going through one of those yearly scent shifts as a growing teen. Unfortunately, Katsuki was right on the money. Izuku had to ignore his heat until he could privately deal with the embarrassment in the comfort of his dorm room.

As soon as Izuku made it to his dorm, his uniform was coming off. He was sweating his ass off in his button-up and blazer, both garments falling to the floor. After taking off his school pants, he threw dignity away along with his boxers before flopping onto his bed butt-naked. His skin needed to breathe and cool off freely. As if he were a pancake being cooked on ice, he flipped over, letting his back inhale the cool air of his dorm.

After a few minutes of flipping on his bed, he slowly made his way to his closet, using one of his small towels to dab at the sweat and slick that covered his achy body. After discarding it on the floor, the young hero threw blankets and pillows from the back of the closet onto the floor and set up a sloppy nest for him to do nothing but wallow in. He didn’t have a single suppressant with him, not a single cooling pad, and he just ran out of his favorite tea.

Heats came irregular for Izuku. Sometimes they were six months apart and sometimes they were one month apart. Typically they were three months apart, one each season, but recently, Izuku was getting two every season. He ran out of supplies quicker and he never knew when he was going to need them again.

Slick poured out of him like a fucking dam bursting, making him shift uncomfortably. He quickly yanked a towel from his closet to place under his hips in the nest so he didn’t leak everywhere. Gross.

“Oh my goodness,” he huffed in frustration as his mind started to fog. He shot the omega group chat (something that Ashido had created in case any of the Class A omegas needed advice or help with their heats) a quick message about dropping off some suppressants to his room, not bothering to check who was bringing them.

He waited impatiently for what felt like hours before a knock finally sounded at the door. He jumped out of his nest, immediately regretting how fast he moved as he shifted to pull on his weighted robe.

“Coming,” he grumbled out, his head woozy.

Izuku slowly opened the door to find a stubborn blond with a box of suppressant patches under his arm along with a tote bag of other things.

“Mm… Kacchan?” Izuku grumbled, rubbing at his drooping eyes absently.

Katsuki ignored him as he worked on heating a cup of water in the microwave. “This’ll have to do…” he muttered to himself. “Why don’t you own a water boiler?

The blonde unboxed the suppressants and tore a few packets open before applying them to Izuku’s wrists. He opened two more and carefully stuck them to the scent glands above Izuku’s collarbone. The gentle touch made a small sound escape from Izuku, making him needier than before. “Kacchan… how much stuff did you bring?”

Katsuki didn’t respond and instead handed Izuku a pair of boxers still in their packaging. He stared at the label before snapping his gaze to Katsuki. “W- how… how do these work?”

“They absorb slick crazy fast,” Katsuki shoved a box towards Izuku full of the same boxers. “One for each heat. Put them on.”

Right as Izuku was about to respond, the microwave beeped. Katsuki turned as he stood, giving Izuku time to rip open the package and slip on the boxers under his robe.

Instant relief. Izuku flopped down into his nest, his head foggy, but more relaxed. The patches helped with his instincts, making his heat easier to handle. “God, Kacchan, I’ve never thought of these before.”

“Sit up,” Katsuki tapped Izuku’s foot with his shoe lightly.

Izuku complied without complaint, a small smile on his lips. “What is it?” Katsuki handed Izuku a cup of steaming tea. His favorite. Lavender oolong, two sugars. “Mm, my favorite. How did you know? I ran out like—”

“Last week, I know,” Katsuki scoffed as he plopped down in front of Izuku, ripping open another box. “You said something about it and I knew you didn’t get any.”

Izuku smiled into his tea, a small blush forming on his cheeks. From the tea maybe. Or his heat. “Thanks,” he whispered.

“Open your robe a little bit,” Katsuki ripped off the peel of a new product. Izuku flushed and gingerly opened his robe to reveal his chest, allowing Katsuki to apply the sticky pad. “Cooling pad. Its kinda like a bigger IcyHot except only the icy part.”

“Like Todoroki or—”

“No, the product, dummy.”

Izuku laughed, his jaw slightly slack as the cooling pad took affect. “Holy shit it's like I’m not even in heat anymore.”

The blonde grinned and tapped his fist to Izuku’s knee. “That’s why I’m here, dumbass. You call *me* every time you're in heat from now on.”

Izuku nodded eagerly, knowing that if he agreed, he wouldn't have to worry so much when his heat rolled around unexpectedly again.

Two months later, Katsuki flopped his arm on the nightstand to silence his alarm. Usually he could sit up in bed right after his alarm went off, but this morning, he could barely lift his head from his pillow. He reached a hand behind his neck, a thin layer of sweat under his hair.

“Fuck…” he groaned, his eyes slowly drooping. “I need to… get…”

The next time he woke up, there was a gentle knock at the door. He lifted his head groggily glancing at his clock.

“Fuck!” Katsuki jumped out of bed, tripping on his blankets. For whatever reason, he opened the door before he got dressed, knowing he looked a mess.

“Ka- woah!” Izuku jumped back when the door opened, revealing a disheveled Katsuki.

“What do you want?” Katsuki panted, his head spinning.

“U-Um, I was here to check on you. You never wake up late, I just thought—”

“I’ll be down in a minute,” Katsuki groaned as he slammed the door in Izuku’s face. He barely registered the action and immediately palmed at the scent glands above his shoulder blades.

I should take the day…

Katsuki ripped his hands away from his neck, panting slightly from the stimulation. “Fuck, I gotta go.”

He tumbled through his closet in search of his suppressant pads, his hunt growing more desperate. “Fuck! I gave the last to Deku, didn’t I?”

The blonde quickly pulled his uniform on and snatched the bottle of unprescribed suppressant pills from the drawer in his nightstand before grabbing his school bag and running to the elevator.

When he made it to the ground floor, he trotted out without a second glance, immediately knocking into Kirishima.

“Woah, man! What—”

His right hand struggled to keep its grip on the pill bottle as he stumbled back. It slipped out of his hand and rolled to Kirishima’s feet. The blonde tensed up immediately, but before he could snatch it back, Kirishima gingerly picked it off the ground, reading the label.

“Oops,” Kirishima quickly handed it back, avoiding Katsuki’s glare. “Sorry, man.”

Katsuki swiped the bottle from the redhead’s palm before shoving past him, bumping his shoulder into Kirishima’s. “Idiot alpha,” he muttered.

The rest of Katsuki’s day was spent taking suppressants every hour, sweating through his uniform, and getting looks from his classmates. By the time their training period rolled around, Katsuki was well into his heat. His scent flooded the room, making the alpha’s in their class shift uncomfortably. Katsuki hands started to shake uncontrollably, sloshing around the water in his bottle as he gulped down the last sips.

His instincts were starting to flare up too, his need to get somewhere safe to nest overwhelming him. And to masturbate. Fuck, he needed something, any kind of stimulation. He just wanted ease.

“Stupid pills,” Katsuki grunted as he shoved the suppressants back into his bag.

“Why aren't you at the dorms?”

Katsuki tilted his head up slowly, finding Ashido’s gaze. “Haven't you ever toughed out a heat before?”

“Yeah, with prescribed suppressants,” She scoffed as she snatched Katsuki’s pill bottle. “Go home, man, these pills are straight trash for an omega like you.”

“Ain’t nobody told me that I could get prescribed pills,” Katsuki grumbled. “That would have been good to know when I was fourteen.”

“Your parents didn’t tell you?” Mina huffed.

“Both betas,” the blonde shrugged.

“Oh,” Ashido sagged her shoulders, tossing the bottle back into Katsuki’s bag. “I’ll give you my doctor’s number, silly.”

Katsuki sighed deeply and rubbed his shoulder gingerly, the only stimulation he could get at the moment without notifying others.

“Stop touching yourself.”

Unless there was another omega around.

“Leave me alone,” he whined.

When Katsuki got back to his dorm, he was deep in his heat. He had stumbled during training and opted out, earning a collective gasp from his classmates. People knew immediately that something was wrong and planned to check on him when they returned to the dorms.

Damn it, that meant he couldn’t fucking masturbate. Or nest. It was too embarrassing.

“Oh, my fucking god,” he panted as a knock sounded at the door. “Who is it?”

“Izuku,” the nerd called back timidly. “Can I come in?”

Katsuki hesitated for a moment. He wanted to tell Izuku to fuck off and hope that everyone else would get the message. But he also needed help. He didn’t want help, but he could use someone to lean on for a few minutes. Plus, he asked Izuku to call him for his heats, so why not do the same?

He grumbled as he cracked the door open for Izuku to come in as he made his way to his closet. He tore around in the small space before using the blankets, pillows, and clothes to make a strange fort for a nest. All while Izuku watched.

When Katsuki glanced back at Deku, however, he was busy boiling water in Katsuki’s tea machine. Not staring. Just preparing for Katsuki.

Katsuki felt his heart flutter, every ounce of feeling contributing to his scent change and increased slick. “Fuck…” he muttered, his cheeks flushed. “Deku…”

Izuku quickly finished preparing Katsuki’s tea before gently placing the cup in Katsuki's hands. The blonde’s hands shook from his deep heat, making it hard to drink.

Katsuki vaguely felt a hand come to his cheek, instinctively rubbing against it. He could feel his chest grow lighter, slowly slipping into the deepest part of his heat. “Mm…” he panted softly as a blanket draped over his shoulders. “‘Zuku…”

“Yes, Kacchan?” Izuku hummed softly as he lay Katsuki down in his nest after he finished his tea, placing a cooling pillow under his head in the tented part.

“Touch me…” Katsuki whispered lazily, his eyes glassy and filled with need.

Izuku laughed awkwardly and gently draped a weighted blanket over him. “You're not in the right headspace.”

“Fine. Toy,” Katsuki grumbled.

Izuku squeaked, his cheeks flushing deeply. “O-oh. Okay… where?”

“Bottom drawer dresser,” Katsuki pointed with his toe. “And then leave. Come back at eight or so. I wanna watch that new hero documentary.”

“R-right,” Izuku swallowed thickly, wrapping the small toy in a towel for Katsuki before dropping it next to him in his nest. “Anything else?”

“The slick boxers,” Katsuki grunted. “Under the bed.”

“Got it,” Izuku moved quickly to hand Katsuki one of the packaged pairs. “I should… leave you alone for now. Call me if you need me.”

“Will,” Katsuki hummed, his hand inching towards the toy as Izuku slipped out.

Katsuki finally got some form of ease after helping himself a few times. It didn't make his heat go away but it eased it. Now he just needed company.

“Can you come over?” Katsuki grumbled when Izuku picked up the phone.

“I’ll bring my laptop,” Izuku chirped as he hung up.

Barely two minutes later, Izuku was at Katsuki’s door. He knocked twice and when Katsuki opened the door for him, he was bouncing on his heels excitedly. “I read the overview of this new documentary you mentioned. Its about past heroes compared to current ones, and—”

“Well don’t tell me everything,” Katsuki scoffed and snatched Izuku’s wrist. “Let's watch it.”

The blonde led the nerd into his room, taking one of his blankets out of his nest to bring onto his bed. As Izuku set up the documentary on his computer, Katsuki made sure they were comfortable before snuggling up to Izuku. He felt Izuku tense up and his breath hitch when Katsuki rested his head right below his chest.

“Relax,” Katsuki grumbled. “Or it's not as comfortable.”

“Right,” Izuku hummed and hesitantly wrapped his arm around Katsuki’s shoulder. Katsuki smiled into Izuku’s chest, his own chest beginning to rumble.

“Are you purring?” Izuku whispered.

“Shut up, play the documentary,” Katsuki growled.

Around halfway through the documentary, a knock sounded at the door. Izuku grumbled but when he paused the movie and tried to untangle himself from Katsuki, Katsuki let out a small whine, his arms tightening around Izuku.

“Oh— Kacchan,” Izuku chuckled softly and placed a gentle hand in Katsuki’s hair.

Another knock came at the door, this time with a voice. “Hey, Bakugo,” Kirishima said timidly. “I just wanted to check on you. Midoriya told me not to, but… I couldn't help it.”

“Mm…” Katsuki moved closer to Izuku, tugging at his shirt. “I don’t want an alpha near me.”

“I know,” Izuku hummed. “Just be quiet.”

“Bakugo,” Kirishima muttered. “You there?”

“No, he’s not,” Izuku called back, giggling as he moved closer to Katsuki.

“Wh— Midoriya?” Kirishima choked.

“Go away!” Katsuki shouted, a small whine in his voice.

Izuku laughed through his nose, unpausing the documentary. He watched the door, making sure Kirishima’s shadow gave up and walked away before resting his head on top of Katsuki’s.

Katsuki fell asleep like that, comfortable and purring into Izuku’s chest as they watched their hero documentary. In the back of his head, he knew this was a bit strange, but in his heat-addled mind, Katsuki needed the touch. He needed another body. He needed a helper.

He needed Izuku.

So when he woke up without Deku the next morning, Katsuki’s heart dropped to his stomach. “Deku?” he whispered, his heart racing rapidly.

He pressed a hand to his heart, trying to calm himself. He was still in heat, he still needed company. But now it was gone.

With a heavy groan, Katsuki dragged himself to the nest that still lay next to his bed and curled up in the soft blankets. It would never be enough. Something was always missing.

Katsuki and Izuku were both heroes. They were both people with regular struggles and joys. They were just two boys trying to grow up. And they were also both omegas.

Omegas were no different from other people. They just needed accommodations. They weren't helpless. They weren't weak. Just different. Some people forgot that alphas needed the same help because of the high expectations pinned on them from other sub-genders with no regard for human feelings. But as omegas, expectations were low and degradation ran high in society towards omegas, especially male omegas. Some by their families and some by their peers. That's why the need to prove themselves was high.

People liked to believe that alphas and omegas were polar opposites. That one is needier and the other provides for that need. The reality was that they both needed and they both provided, but not for each other. They were no different from betas when it came to love.

An omega can love a beta, they just need their heats taken care of. An alpha can love a beta, they just need their rut dealt with. An alpha can love an omega, the omega just needed the alpha to go into rut and dominate them to finally be satisfied.

Bullshit.

Why can't an alpha love an omega without conquering them?

And omega can love a beta. They just need their heat taken care of. And omega can love an alpha. They just need.

Why can’t an omega love anyone without needing them?

Why can't an omega want someone they need instead of needing someone they don’t want?

Why can't an omega love another omega?

Why does an omega need to be taken care of?

Why does Katsuki want Izuku?

Why did they continue to want each other for their heats for years after? It wasn't all they did together. No, of course not. They wanted to stay friends, they always spent time together outside of work. But they also wanted to help each other. They didn’t need anything from each other, but they wanted something. Something neither of them could name.

Something that lingered like an ache, but not a consuming hunger.

It was a feeling that never left, even when their heats were over.

Izuku’s grip on his laser pointer tightened, his legs shaking uncontrollably. Luckily it was something he could hide easily for now. He didn’t want his students to know.

As he spoke about the first Hero Act, he felt around on his desk for his suppressants. He had to avert his gaze from the screen to the desk when he couldn’t find them. When he finally found something, he paused his lecture to inspect it.

“Mm, patches,” he muttered to himself. He had gone through heats enough times for the cycle to barely affect him mentally anymore. He was more in control and self aware, no longer the hormonal teenager he once was. He shrugged as he continued his lecture, casually rubbing the suppressant patches onto his wrists.

“De- Mr. Midoriya, are you alright?” Young Kota asked.

“Perfectly,” Izuku smiled back. “You don’t need to worry about a thing.”

Izuku and the rest of the class perked up when a knock came at the door. Before Izuku could move to answer, the tall door slid open to reveal Katsuki.

The class gasped and whispered amongst themselves about the famous Dynamight in their classroom, as if he hadn't been in there before. They would get sick of his face eventually. Or maybe they were more like Izuku, greeting Katsuki with a bright grin every time he saw him.

“Kacchan!” Izuku beamed. “Whatcha doin’ in here?”

Katsuki didn’t respond, just held up a small bento wrapped in a decorative towelette with a strawberry pattern.

“Oh,” Izuku hummed happily as he took bento into his hands. “Thank you.”

Katsuki sniffed the air around Izuku and grabbed Izuku's wrist carefully. When he saw the patches, he dug in his pocket before handing Izuku a small bag. “Chewables.”

“Ah,” Izuku nodded with a small blush. “Thank you again.”

“You're welcome, dummy,” Katsuki hummed in acknowledgment, tapping Izuku’s chin on the way out.

Katsuki’s touch lingered on Izuku’s chin for a moment longer as Katsuki left. Izuku swallowed thickly and returned to the screen, ignoring the shared looks between his students.

At lunch, Izuku brought his food to the teacher’s lounge. As he, All Might, and Mr. Aizawa talked about their students, Izuku absently unwrapped his bento. He glanced down at his food, gasping softly when he saw the cute setup.

In the main box, there was a serving of omurice with a drawing of a grenade made with ketchup. In one of the smaller boxes, there were slices of red apples cut to look like different heroes, and in the last box, a small serving of sautéed vegetables.

“So cute!” Izuku whispered, picking up the All Might cut apple.

“What is it?” All Might hummed, leaning over to observe Izuku’s bento. “Ah, did Young Bakugo come by again?”

“Mm-hmm,” Izuku nodded as he chewed. “He always drops off my lunch.”

Aizawa and All Might shared a look, trying to hide their grins as they ate.

“So, who do male omegas date?” Kirishima asked as he scanned the surrounding street. He waved a young boy who squeaked excitedly and ran away.

“Whoever we fucking want. This isn’t the dark ages,” Katsuki scoffed, kicking a rock as he walked by Kirishima’s side.

“Right, but like, if you like girls, how does it work?”

“Everyone’s got their preferences.”

The redhead groaned deeply and tapped his fist to Katsuki’s shoulder. “Come on. Work with me. If a male omega is in love with a female beta, who pegs who when the guy is in heat?”

Katsuki paused to glare at Kirishima, his jaw clenched. “You're asking the wrong omega.”

“Is it like lesbian betas, but one has a dick?” Kirishima pondered genuinely.

“Bitch, I don’t fucking know, I’m not a lesbian or an omega who likes girls,” Katsuki huffed incredulously.

“Yeah, well, I was just curious,” Kirishima shrugged. “Maybe Midoriya would know.”

“Do not ask every omega you know,” Katsuki shoved Kirishima’s shoulder. For some reason, Izuku’s name made Katsuki tense up more than he’d like to admit. “Plus, Izuku doesn't like girls either. Or he does, but he mostly likes guys.”

“Really?” Kirishima huffed in disbelief. “I thought he would.”

The blonde sighed deeply, his head thumping lightly. “Ugh, when does this shift end?”

“What? You never like going home,” Kirishima’s brow knitted in concern.

Katsuki grumbled and wiped a thin layer of sweat off his upper lip. “Yeah, well…” he rummaged around in the pouch on the side of his knee brace. When he didn't feel his usual bottle of chewables, his heart dropped. “When does this shift end?” he asked again, more frantic than before.

“Woah, hey, what—”

“Can we stop at the drug store?” Katsuki asked, but he was already pulling up directions.

“Dude, we have like two hours left,” Kirishima protested as Katsuki started walking faster.

Katsuki ignored his friend, his need apparent. As they walked, his sweat thickened, the cloud of pheromones thickening around him.

“Oh, dude, lemme drive you home,” Kirishima huffed when he could smell Katsuki. “I’ll clock you out.”

“I can usually get through the day with my fucking suppressants,” Katsuki scoffed. “I forgot to order new ones, I always forget, and then i gotta get those stupid temporary patches. I used to think those things were great, but they make your wrist sweat and it creates too much trash anyway—”

“Bakugo—”

Kirishima tried to grab Katsuki's shoulder, the blonde acting on instinct when he punched Kirishima in the jaw.

Kirishima stood in shock for a moment before turning back to Katsuki with wide eyes. Katsuki glanced at his fist and let his lungs expand. “Shit, I—”

Kirishima shook his head, glancing around at the turned heads. He gently redirected Katsuki towards the drug store, prying himself away to walk one foot behind his friend. “You're good, man, that was my fault. Just make a beeline.”

Right at Katsuki made it to the door of the drug store, Ida’s voice blasted over the comms. “Come in! Robbery on Avenue 64! I need at least three heroes in the area. Fifteen armed men. Requesting back up!”

“Crap, we’re on 66!” Katsuki groaned and immediately blasted off without a care for his own well-being. It all came with the job.

The rest of Katsuki’s shift was spent rounding up the fifteen robbers that stole from an illegal gambling room. Two operations taken down in one fight. Katsuki worked overtime, his body sore and sweating. He could barely function as soon as the adrenaline left his system and needed a ride home from Kirishima. His friend helped him into his apartment, Katsuki’s feet struggling to keep up pace.

“Just… gimme… a minute,” Katsuki grumbled absently as Kirishima dragged him out of the elevator.

“Come on, man,” Kirishima sighed, digging in Katsuki’s pocket for his keys.

“Where…” Katsuki grunted, his mind clouded and his stomach growing warmer. “Where is Izuku?”

“Huh?” the redhead huffed as he sat Katsuki on the couch.

“You're an alpha, why aren't you attacking?” Katsuki spoke absently.

“Because I’m not a stupid teenager who can't keep his hands to himself,” Kirishima chuckled, making his way to the kitchen. “I also have a girlfriend, and you're my best bro.”

“Makes sense,” Katsuki grunted. “I don’t want you either.”

They both snorted in amusement, their unison making them laugh.

Katsuki flopped down on the couch with a grin. “Fuck… you're usually not the one here. It's usually Deku who helps me.”

“Huh?” Kirishima huffed, his eyes wide with curiosity. He made his way back over to the couch and handed Katsuki a cup of lavender tea.

“Deku comes over when I’m in heat. I go over to his place when he’s in heat. We help each other,” Katsuki hummed. “Pressing his nose to the rim of the cup.”

“Wow, you two are cozy,” Kirishima chortled.

“I want him to do more when he comes over,” Katsuki laughed absently, making his friend choke. “A lot more.”

“Oh?” Kirishima grinned, his eyebrow cocked. “Tell me more.”

“Every time he comes over, I wish he would just tear my clothes off.”

“Oh,” Kirishima’s face dropped as Katsuki started going on about what he really wanted from Izuku until his tongue felt too fat to talk. When Katsuki’s scent started to grow too strong, Kirishima patted his shoulder and stood. “Thanks for the graphic visuals. I hope you work that out with your mate.”

“Mate sounds good,” Katsuki hummed happily to himself.

“Okay, man,” Kirishima pressed his lips together and left before Katsuki could continue.

Katsuki stood up from the couch, fumbling with his tea as his legs wobbled. He grabbed the blanket from off the couch and wrapped himself in it, his tea sloshing in its cup. He didnt realise how weak he was until now, his knees buckling beneath him.

Once he made it to his room, he placed the tea down on the nearest surface before tumbling into his walk-in closet. He tugged blankets and clothes from wherever he could reach and threw them on the floor in front of him before collapsing.

Katsuki wheezed as he struggled to breathe against his shitty nest. He needed relief, but his relief was no where to be seen. He needed Izuku. His warmth, his care, his presence. “Deku…” he whined, a single tear running down his nose.

He let out a soft sob. “Deku… fuck. What the hell?” he panted, trying to sit up in his nest. “Why…”

Katsuki let out a small whine, his arms giving way beneath him.

The next time Katsuki woke up, he was much warmer than he remembered. Not just from the new blanket, but from the gentle air surrounding him. He wasn't in the closet anymore, he was out in the living room, the smell of miso soup wafting through the air.

After his immediate thought of how lovely the smell was, he jumped off the couch, launching himself towards the kitchen with a book he snatched off the coffee table.

“Get out of my—!” Katsuki heaved the book over his head, panting heavily. “Deku,” He let it fall from his hands before trotting across the kitchen.

“Kac—” Izuku let out a soft huff when Katsuki fell into his arms. “Are you alright? You're shaking like a leaf.”

“I haven't had a single thing to help with my heat except tea,” Katsuki groaned, tucking his face into Izuku’s chest comfortably.

“W-well, I’m almost done with the soup,” Izuku swallowed, his body heating underneath Katsuki’s cheek. “So go sit down.”

Katsuki nodded lazily and hobbled away to the couch, his legs trembling and sweating. Or was that slick? Once he was comfortable, he reached between his legs, gasping when his hand came back coated in the substance. He glanced down at his lap, his pants drenched in slick.

With a small yelp, he pulled a blanket over his soaking crotch right as Izuku came in with his soup.

“Something wrong?” Izuku hummer as he handed Katsuki the miso soup.

Katsuki’s hands shook as he took the bowl, his eyes glazed over. “No, I’m…” he panted up at Izuku, hesitating before deciding to tell the truth. “I’m covered in slick.”

“Oh,” Izuku huffed in amusement and patted Katsuki's shoulder. “Do you want a robe or a change of clothes?”

“Robe. Or are you okay with me being naked?” Katsuki pleaded.

“Um,” Izuku swallowed nervously. “Maybe. Should I leave or—”

No!” Katsuki’s hand shot out of his blanket to grip Izuku’s wrist. “Stay. I’ll take the robe.”

Izuku’s gaze softened, placing a hand on Katsuki’s knee as he sat next to him. “Calm down. I know what it's like. You can be naked if you want, I’ll figure something out,” he chuckled.

Katsuki’s heart fluttered, his throat bobbing nervously. “Really? You're good with that?”

“Yeah,” Izuku ran a hand over Katsuki’s back gently. “Its just a part of being in heat. I get it.”

Katsuki stared at Izuku for a moment, panting lightly through his open lips. He felt his heart flip with joy, letting his blanket fall off his shoulders. With hesitant hands, he stripped off his shirt and nothing else yet. “You should be a part of my heats more often,” he huffed.

“What do you mean? We already help each other with our heats every time,” Izuku chuckled.

“Right. But we only see each other during our heats as of late,” Katsuki took a sip of his soup. “What if—”

“Are you asking me to move in?” Izuku jumped in, his eyes widening immediately. “Well, I mean, only—”

“No, that's what I meant,” Katsuki’s lip quirked up.

“Oh,” Izuku’s face heated with embarrassment. “Well okay then… does that mean—”

“Uhuh,” Katsuki grinned and tapped his fist to Izuku’s shoulder. “Better go home and pack your things.”

“Okay,” Izuku beamed back as he stood.

“W- dont leave now!” Katsuki protested.

Izuku sat back down quickly. “Right! You're in heat.”

“Morning, Kacchan,” Izuku muttered as he entered the bathroom. Katsuki grunted in response, his mouth stuffed as he brushed his teeth.

He plucked his toothbrush from their shared cup and Katsuki squeezed a decent amount of paste onto his brush. They both brushed in silence, still half asleep.

Izuku let Katsuki spit and clean first. While he headed to the kitchen, Izuku rinsed his mouth before making his way to his bedroom. As he rummaged through the closet for his clothes, he snuck glances at Katsuki from his position in the room.

“He’s so…” Izuku whispered absently, watching as Katsuki cooked meals for both of them. When Katsuki looked up, Izuku quickly snapped his gaze away. He tried to pretend he was looking for something until he realized he was truly missing his tie.

“Hey, Kacchan?” He hollered. “Have you seen my tie?”

“Green one?” Katsuki called back. “That dirty shit is in the damn laundry. You never take it off, I had to clean it.”

“Oh,” Izuku flushed shamefully as he trotted to the laundry room. “Ah, well, thank you for cleaning it.”

He found his green tie on top of the dryer, freshly washed and ironed. With gentle hands, he inspected the fabric, not a single speck or stain left.

“Damn, Kacchan,” Izuku huffed as he fumbled with tie. “This is the cleanest I've ever seen it.”

“Yeah, I fucking know,” Katsuki scoffed, making his way over to Izuku as meat sizzled in a frying pan. He slapped Izuku’s hands away and carefully tightened the green tie.

“Prefect,” Izuku smiled up at Katsuki. “Thanks. You're like a housewife.”

“Yeah, I’m not cooking, doing laundry, or cleaning for you ever again,” Katsuki shoved Izuku away by his face, making Izuku laugh and swatted his hand away playfully.

And yet Katsuki still drove Izuku to UA that morning after making breakfast. He prepared Izuku’s lunch and made sure he didn't forget his hero suit case when he exited the car.

“Kacchan is the best,” Izuku sighed happily. He wished he could kiss Katsuki good bye every morning when he dropped him off. He wished Katsuki would hold him at night. Maybe then he wouldn't be as tired when he got to school.

Wait, those weren't normal thoughts were they? Oh, shit.

“All Might, help,” Izuku panted when he made it to the teacher’s lounge after running through the halls. “I think I’m in love with Kacchan.”

The room sucked in a tense breath, every educator in the room stiffening. Laptop keyboards stopped clicking, chewing stilled, chair’s creaked eerily. Izuku knew every one of these facility members and everyone understood that “Kacchan” meant Katsuki Bakugo.

All Might stared up at Izuku before coming back to his senses. “Young Midoriya! My boy. Let's talk outside, shall we?” his voice cut through the silence, allowing the tension to fade.

Izuku flushed deeply as All Might guided him out of the room. His mentor closed the door behind them and turned Izuku towards him. “Tell me why this is something you need help with.”

“I-I…” Izuku croaked out, his chest heaving. “Well, we live together so I see him every day and I’m scared that if I tell him how I feel, he’ll leave, and I can't have that because I really like seeing him and it feels so domestic to have him around. It feels like were already together and it's really confusing and we help each other with our heats so there's a deeper connection and were both omegas so it's kinda weird and—”

“Woah, slow down,” All Might chuckled, placing his hands on Izuku’s shoulders. “You help each other with your heats? And why do you think its weird that you're both omegas?”

“Because it's… It's weird. It's not something I…” Izuku huffed, his chest tight. “I don’t like it, All Might. I’ve never thought of someone like this before, let alone Kacchan.”

All Might shook his head fondly. “This isn’t unnatural or strange. This is about following what your heart wants.”

“It's not my heart,” Izuku sighed deeply, running his hands over his arms. “It's my heat. I don’t want him, I just need him.”

“No, no, my boy,” All Might grinned. “You can need anybody, but you want him.”

Izuku’s breath hitched, the former hero’s words hitting him. “I— but… I only use him for heats—”

“And yet you are still fond of seeing him outside of your heats. Even if you do use each other, you could have easily chosen someone else if you only needed him. You love him, not because you need him but because you want him.”

Izuku’s chest heaved as All Might spoke. “I… I dont know… if he thinks of it like that.”

“Young Midoriya, everyone knows it,” All Might admitted, squeezing Izuku’s shoulders. “Everyone knows that he comes by UA just to bring you lunch. We know that he drives you to work sometimes. We know that he only visits your class and no one else's unless we ask. We know that his face flushes when you compliment him. Everyone knows that he loves you back.”

Izuku caved and rushed forward, wrapping his arms around All Might. “I’m scared,” he sobbed. “You may think that and I may think that, but I’m afraid Kacchan doesn't agree.”

“Take the leap,” Toshinori squeezed Izuku before pushing him back gently to look into his eyes. “Please. You're way too focused on work. Don’t make the same mistake I did and forget about your relationships. I need you to treat yourself, Izuku.”

Izuku’s throat caught again but he nodded nonetheless. “Today?”

“Today,” All Might agreed.

“Hey, Kacchan,” Izuku smiled breifly as he hopped into the shotgun of Katsuki’s ride. “How was your shift?”

“Fine,” Katsuki huffed, making sure Izuku was buckled in before hitting the gas. “Nothing huge. Teamed up with a few of the high school idiots for a hostage robbery.”

“What? That's pretty big. Are the hostages okay?” Izuku fretted.

“Of course they are, I made damn sure of it,” Katsuki scoffed.

“That's good,” Izuku hummed. He placed a gentle hand on Katsuki’s shoulder, his touch hesitant. “Are you alright?”

“Yeah, why?” Katsuki shot a glare at Izuku, making him drop his hand. “Did something interesting happen at UA?”

“No not…” Izuku trailed off when he thought about his morning, his face heating. “I just… I told… All Might that, uh…”

“Spit it out,” Katsuki grumbled.

“Nothing… nothing much, really,” Izuku laughed awkwardly. “Just about… liking you.”

Katsuki’s hands tensed on the steering wheel, his eyes focused on the road. “Okay. That’s pretty interesting.”

“R-right,” Izuku breathed shakily. They sat in tense silence for a long while after, trying to find a way to speak up.

“Anything else happen?”

Seriously, Kacchan?” Izuku scoffed, his heart squeezing.

“What else am I supposed to say?” Katsuki huffed.

“I dont know!” Izuku tucked his hands under his arms awkwardly. “Do you like me back?”

“No! No, I… fuck you,” Katsuki shifted uncomfortably.

Izuku’s breath trembled and his eyes stung. “You have nothing else to say?”

“No, not fucking really,” Katsuki sighed.

Izuku felt tears prickle in his eyes before he stared out the window for the rest of the car ride. “That's fine,” he whispered through his silent cry.

When they got home, Izuku rushed into their apartment, slamming the door to his room once he was inside. He let his tears spring loose once he could curl up in bed and forget. Tears ran down his nose, the ache in his chest heavy, but through his sobs, he heard a knock at the door.

“Can I come in?” Katsuki’s voice came, unexpectantly gentle.

Izuku sniffled and wiped at his face as he sat up, trying to compose himself. “Why?”

“I…” Katsuki sighed, slowly turning the knob. “We need to talk.”

Izuku didnt protest when the blonde entered the room, just looked up at him with watery eyes. Katsuki huffed when he saw Izuku, his eyes softening.

“Look, I’m… I’m sorry,” Katsuki whispered, gingerly sitting next to Izuku on the bed. “I’m an idiot, okay? I don’t know if I like you back. I just… i’m not sure if I like you back.”

“Wha…”

“Listen. We’re both omegas,” Katsuki sighed deeply. “So I don’t know what this feeling is. I dont know if it's need or attraction or lust. We help each other with our heats, so it could very well be the last one. Look, I just… I haven't come to godamn terms with what you are to me and I dont think I’ll ever be ready.”

Izuku stared up at Katsuki for a moment longer before letting out a heavy sigh. “Okay.”

“Okay,” Katsuki stood up slowly, trying to say something. “I’ll… tell you. If I figure it out.”

“Right,” Izuku nodded solemnly.

Unfortunately for a boy who had just gotten his heart broken, Izuku had his heat two days later. He didn't want to ask for Katsuki, but he had gotten so used to having him around during his heats that it felt strange to not want him. Unnatural.

Katsuki was at work and it was the weekend so Izuku could have joined him out in the field, but, well. Things change. Tension rises.

Izuku took his prescribed chewables and locked his door because who wouldn't take the chance to go at it when they were home alone during their heat?

But right as he was taking off his pants, someone knocked on the front door. He sighed deeply and stayed in bed for a moment longer before needing to answer the door.

“Who is it?” he called when he stepped out of his room.

“Ochaco!”

Izuku loved Ochaco, but not right now. While in heat? Hell no. “Come back later, please.”

“What?” Ochaco huffed. “Everything alright?”

“Yup,” Izuku sighed. “Peachy.”

“Deku, you gave me a key, I will use it,” Ochaco threatened.

“Damn, why’d I give her that?” he whispered. “Come in!”

Ochaco unlocked the door, finding Izuku dragging his feet to the kitchen bar table. “What's up with you?”

“Heat,” Izuku grumbled.

“Oh, crap, I’ll go if—”

“No, it's okay,” Izuku huffed. “I need someone here. It's usually Kacchan.”

“Oh,” Ochaco blushed. “Should I call him?”

“No. We're in a bit of a rough patch,” Izuku whined, trying not to cry. “I wish he were here. He’s the best at helping me.”

“Yeah, hey, Bakugo?”

Izuku’s head snapped up. “What?!” he whispered, trying to grab the phone from Ochaco. “Don’t call him!”

“Come over, he’s in heat,” Ochaco grinned, trying to shove Izuku away. “Yeah, it’s bad. He can't even stand up.”

“Uraraka!” he whined.

“Yup, come as soon as you can. See ya,” Ochaco hummer as she hung up. “Get ready, Deku, today might be the day.”

“Day for what?” Izuku slumped, accepting his fate.

“To confess, kiss, get laid maybe,” Ochaco shrugged.

“Ex-girlfriends don’t get to tell me I’m getting laid,” Izuku blushed furiously.

“Ex-girlfriend, best friend? Who knows?” Ochaco grinned.

Izuku rubbed his forehead in exhaustion as he walked to the couch. “How much time do I have before he gets here?”

Just as he said it, the door knocked. “Coming in,” Katsuki’s voice called.

“That was so fast!” Izuku wailed.

“You need some kind of relationship with him,” Ochaco urged, turning Izuku’s shoulders to her. “Please, everyone sees it. Just…” she blushed. “Just get together already!”

“Deku,” Katsuki called as he entered, still in his hero costume.

“Over here,” Ochaco waved him over.

“You good?” Katsuki folded his arms as he walked over.

“Great,” Izuku flushed deeply, his heart racing.

“Good,” Katsuki nodded, shifting awkwardly.

Ochaco gave Katsuki a glare and nodded towards Izuku. “Do what you came here to do.”

She patted Katsuki’s shoulder before leaving the apartment briskly. Once the door was shut, Katsuki gingerly sat next to Izuku on the couch. “Do you need anything?”

“Um… nest. I guess,” Izuku shrugged.

“You seem fine, why was she yelling at me on the phone?” Katsuki huffed.

“I dunno,” Izuku shifted uncomfortably.

“I guess while I’m here, I’ll take care of you,” Katsuki hummed and scooped Izuku into his arms.

“Wah! Kacchan!” Izuku gasped and clung to Katsuki. “What is wrong with you?!”

Katsuki grinned and placed Izuku on the floor of the nerd’s room. “Dig in your closet, I’ll grab stuff from mine.”

The idea of having stuff from Katsuki’s room in his nest was strangely a huge turn-on. He tried to ignore the butterflies in his stomach and Ochaco’s words from earlier as he gathered his things.

“I got this if you wanna build a fort-like nest,” Katsuki held up an unopened package of strange stilts and sticks. On the cover, it read, “fort builders.”

“What is this?” Izuku chuckled.

“It's like a fort outline. You build this and then put blankets and pillows on top and inside,” Katsuku grinned. “Wanna try it?”

Izuku laughed softly, his heart fluttering. “Y-yeah, sure, why not?”

While Katsuki built the fort outline, Izuku grabbed the blankets and pillows he wanted to use for the inside and outside. “Build it near that outlet, I wanna put LED lights in there.”

“That's a good idea actually,” Katsuki huffed in amusement.

“I’ll bring blankets from your room too,” Izuku hummed happily.

When the fort was finished, Izuku shoved Katsuki’s blankets and pillows inside and coated the outside of the fort with his own blankets. He lined the foundations with his lights and plugged them in before settling inside his cozy cave.

“Can I come in?” Katsuki’s lip quirked up.

Izuku grinned up at him and nodded, scooting over to make room for his company. Katsuki moved in close opening his arms for Izuku to move closer. But Izuku didn't just get in close. Once he was in Katsuki’s arms, Izuku cupped his roommate’s face, his breath ghosting over Katsuki’s lips. He hesitated, but in that moment, Katsuki closed the space between.

It was brief, but it was good. Katsuki pulled back as if he wasn't the one who finished it. “Sorry, I—”

“I dont need you,” Izuku whispered.

“W-wha—”

Izuku pulled Katsuki back in for another kiss, their lips moving languidly. Katsuki didn't protest, slowly lowering Izuku onto the blankets.

Izuku gently pushed Katsuki away. “I want you, Kacchan. But why did you reject me if—”

“I’m sorry,” Katsuki repeated. “I’m… fuck. Deku, I want you too, but it's… weird. I feel like I only want you because—”

“Because of our heats,” Izuku sighed deeply. He ran his thumb over Katsuki’s cheekbone, searching for any emotion. “But it's not like that. I need you because I want you. I could need anybody, but I want you.”

Katsuki’s breath hitched slightly. “You don’t think it’s instinct?”

Izuku shook his head, wrapping his arms around Katsuki’s neck. “Not anymore.”

Katsuki huffed and leaned down again, trying to get a feel of Izuku’s lips. “If you don't then… I shouldn't either. It's… it’s want. Like you said,” he dove down again, kissing him more passionately. “So much want…”

Izuku pulled Katsuki closer, wrapping his legs around his waist. “I wouldn't...” he gasped between kisses. “Want anyone… else…”

Izuku leaned back, gently guiding Katsuki’s head down. Katsuki understood, trailing his kisses down the other’s neck.

“Kacchan…” Izuku sighed, letting his body relax under Katsuki. He flinched when Katsuki pulled back the collar of his shirt, but slowly eased when the blonde kissed his scent gland. The green hero let out a soft gasp, his instincts on full alert. He pulled Katsuki closer, the urge to be marked overwhelming.

Not yet.

“Don’t bite,” Izuku panted.

“Wasnt gonna,” Katsuki growled back before continuing to suck and kiss.

Izuku’s fingers tightened in Katsuki’s hair as he moaned softly. “Gah…” he huffed. “That feels… really good, Kacchan. D-Don’t stop…”

“Ah, um,” Katsuki pulled back and Izuku felt his heart drop.

“Did I say something wrong?” Izuku sighed, refusing to look Katsuki’s way.

“No,” Katsuki placed a hand on Izuku’s chest. “Just asking if we're going all the way.”

Izuku’s chest fluttered, his eyes finding Katsuki’s. “U-um…” he wanted to. He really really wanted to. “Probably not. I don’t wanna ruin anything.”

Katsuki’s face fell when Izuku responded. “Oh. Okay. You're probably right. We shouldn't rush it.”

They both sat up, flushed and heavily turned on. They tried not to look at each other as they panted softly. In awkward silence they sat, trying to forget about their moment.

“Does this mean we’re dating?” Izuku attempted a civil smile, but all he wanted to do was tear Katsuki’s clothes off.

“Yeah, I think so,” Katsuki nodded, trying to avoid looking at the mark on Izuku’s neck.

Another awkward silence passed by as Izuku pants grew warmer and wetter.

“Can we continue?” Izuku whispered.

“Can we?” Katsuki let out a breath. “You sure?”

“Uh-huh,”  Izuku nodded eagerly. “Damn it, Uraraka was right.”

“‘Bout what?”

“Getting laid today.”

Katsuki grinned, “Damn right.”

The two laughed as they tumbled deeper into the fort. The blonde hiked Izuku's legs over his hips, diving down to capture his lips. Izuku wrapped his arms around Katsuki’s neck as he smiled into the kiss. Katsuki ground down against Izuku’s hips in response, making Deku shiver violently.

“Ew, ew, ew,” Izuku whispered and pushed Katsuki’s hips away.

“Hmm? What’s wrong?” Katsuki’s hands waved around for a second, Izuku’s refusal scrambling him.

“You're okay, Kacchan, I’m just…” Izuku flushed deeply, his heat fogging his brain. “I have so much slick, I gotta—”

“Oh, right, yeah,” Katsuki chuckled nervously.

“Kacchan,” Izuku laughed as Katsuki shakily slipped off his shorts and boxers. “Calm down. Literally anything you could do to me right now will feel good.”

Katsuki huffed and pressed a gentle kiss to Izuku’s cheek. “I know. I just want things to go smoothly.”

“Things will go smoothly if you just touch me,” Izuku pulled Katsuki back down to the blankets.

“Woah!” Katsuki laughed breathlessly and crashed their lips together. As they kissed, he removed the bottom half of his hero costume. “You're not normally this bold.”

“Kacchan, I’m so incredibly horny, you have no idea,” Izuku whined, slowly stripping off his shirt.

“Calm down,” Katsuki laughed into Izuku’s skin, kissing down his body. “I got you.”

“I know…” Izuku panted desperately, reaching a hand down to slip his finger in his slick. “But you gotta hurry up.”

“Deku, calm,” Katsuki whispered gently, reaching a hand up to rub his wrist against Izuku’s scent gland. Izuku’s hand immediately went limp as Katsuki scented him. A great sense of relief flooded his body, allowing him to relax while Katsuki touched him.

“K-Kacchan…” Izuku breathed as Katsuki ground his hips into Deku’s. He lifted his legs for the blonde, moaning softly when Katsuki’s dick rubbed against his slick hole. “In.”

“Shh, I know,” Katsuki muttered against Izuku’s lips as he rolled into Izuku.

Katsuki panted heavily as he flopped down next to Izuku in the fort, both of them lazy-eyed and grinning.

“That just happened,” Izuku laughed breathlessly.

Katsuki chuckled beside him, his body still tingling with pleasure. “Holy shit.”

“My heat is gone,” Izuku beamed at Katsuki. “This is the best heat I’ve ever had. It's gone.

“We’re doing that every time then,” Katsuki huffed, leaning over to press a gentle kiss to Izuku’s temple. Izuku hummed happily and cuddled into Katsuki’s side.

“No complaints here,” Izuku mumbled, wrapping his arms around Katsuki’s chest.

They lay there for a while, relishing in the comfortable silence of their shared space.

“I kinda wanna do it again, just for fun,” Izuku grinned against Katsuki’s pec.

“Yeah, me too,” Katsuki laughed.

“We should probably go to sleep though.”

“Then we’ll do it on the bed while we spoon until we fall asleep,” Katsuki grinned.

Izuku huffed and lifted his head. “Sounds like a plan,” he beamed back.

“Thanks again for driving me.”

“We’re well into the day and you're still thanking me,” Katsuki rolled his eyes at his boyfriend as they walked down the halls of their old high school. “And I drive you most of the time anyway.”

“I know,” Izuku chuckled and pecked Katsuki’s cheek. “I just like seeing the way you react to certain things I say.”

“What?” Katsuki scoffed. “I dont react that differently to stuff. Give me an example.”

“Your ears blush when I thank or compliment you,” Izuku said smuggly.

“No they don't!” Katsuki’s ears turned red.

“And when you're embarrassed,” Izuku flicked the blonde’s ear playfully.

“W- leave me alone, nerd,” Katsuki shoved his shoulder. “you go stiff when you're embarassed and you fidget when you're nervous.”

“I do?” Izuku stiffened.

“Embarrassed,” Katsuki huffed pridefully.

“Shut up,” Izuku scoffed and shoved Katsuki back.

When they arrived at the teachers' lounge, they were bickering, but somehow still holding hands. They sat down where Izuku usually did and Katsuki took the seat next to him.

“Excuse me, Bakugo, that's my chair,” Aizawa sighed at his former student. “You're not even a teacher.”

“Yeah, well, I am his boyfriend so I get special privileges,” Katsuki smirked.

Aizawa grumbled and pulled a chair from another table. “When did you two become a thing?”

“A few days ago,” Izuku hummed happily as he unwrapped his bento.

“Wait,” All Might’s voice came from behind before he sat down heavily in his usual chair. “You two are together now?”

The pair nodded in unison, one fidgeting and the other blushing to his ears.

“Oh my goodness!” All Might huffed and attempted to pull both of them into a hug, but they had to move into his arms when he couldn't reach Katsuki all the way. “I’m so happy for you two!”

“Yeah, I actually listened to you,” Izuku chuckled as the hug broke. “We got together the day after you and I talked.”

“Oh, that's wonderful,” All Might clasped his hands together.

“Mic, you owe me 5000,” Aizawa called.

“Yeah, well you're splitting it with Toshi, I ain't losing ten-thousand,” Preasent Mic sighed as he counted his yen.

“Y'all were betting on us?” Katsuki scoffed.

“How many people were betting?” Izuku huffed as he texted the Class A group chat. He quickly snapped of picture of him and Katsuki to send.

“Wha— don’t ask,” Katsuki tried to take Izuku’s phone from him.

“I’m asking,” Izuku shoved Katsuki away. They both paused when a few people texted raised hands in the group chat. Some people even texted pictures of the money they bet on. “Were we that obvious?” his whispered.

Everyone in the teacher’s lounge muttered or exclaimed a strong, “Yes.”

The pair blushed heavily and tried to focus on eating for the rest of the lunch period.

After lunch, Katsuki walked with Izuku to his class, holding hands as they talked. When they reached the door, Katsuki leaned over to give Izuku a quick kiss. They flinched at the sound of a camera shutter.

“Uh- Kota! Delete that,” Izuku glared at his grinning student.

“U-Um—”

“Don’t delete it!” one of the girls in his class snatched the phone from Kota and used her quirk to turn invisible.

Higasa!” Izuku snapped and marched into the classroom. “I will expel you if you don’t give me that phone!” It was mostly an empty threat, but his students knew better.

“Oh,” Higasa turned off her quirk, raising her hands in surrender. “Uh, I already sent it to everyone.”

“Someone posted it,” another student grinned and showed Katsuki. Izuku peered over and sighed in disappointment.

“Oh my—” Izuku groaned deeply. “Alright, well, we were supposed to go to ground beta with Dynamight, but now you're getting a lecture on correct uses of your quirks so you don’t pull something like this again.”

The whole class groaned and slumped in their seats, muttering complaints and apologies.

“Deku,” Katsuki tapped Izuku’s hand and leaned over to whisper in his ear. “This was kinda my whole day.”

“Oh. well…” Izuku huffed. “You can stick around or wait for me at home.”

“I’ll opt out on the lecture, thanks,” Katsuki pressed a smile to Izuku’s cheek. “See ya.”

“Bye,” Izuku whispered as his boyfriend left.

As soon as Katsuki was out of the classroom, Izuku’s students let out a mocking chorus of “ooos.”

“Oh, stop, or you're getting homework,” Izuku rolled his eyes, his face flushed.

“Never kiss me in front of my students again,” Izuku laughed when Kastuki opened the door to let him into their shared apartment. “Mm, smells good in here.”

“Just makes me wanna kiss you more,” Katsuki hummed and kissed Izuku twice. “Got dinner on the stove.”

“Yum,” Izuku muttered against his lips. When he tried to pull away, Katsuki grabbed at the back of his neck and pulled him closer. “Mm! Okay…”

“Deku…” Katsuki whispered against his mouth.

“K-Kacchan,” Izuku laughed and gently pushed Katsuki away. “What—” he sniffed the air around Katsuki and hummed fondly. “Is food almost done?”

Katsuki nodded, his eyes drooping.

“Okay, then let's eat and then I’ll take care of you,” Izuku smiled fondly and wrapped his arm around Katsuki. “Come on.”

Izuku walked Katsuki slowly to the kitchen, rubbing his shoulders and scent glands gently.

Fuck, that feels good…” Katsuki panted, whining when Izuku removed his hands to prepare Katsuki’s bowl.

The nerd walked Katsuki to the couch, making sure they both ate before helping Katsuki nest and relax. Izuku held The blonde’s hand as they walked to Katsuki’s room. “Go ahead and nest. I’ll—”

“Can you help me?” Katsuki asked as he rummaged in his closet.

“Um…” Izuku flushed deeply. Helping an omega with their nest was a big step in the right direction. When an omega asked another person to help with their nest (or to even be allowed in their nest), it was one of the biggest indications of deep trust between two people. “Yeah, I will.”

“I’m stealing your clothes for this,” Katsuki grumbled.

“That's okay. I’m sure this cycle won't last that long,” Izuku chuckled as he kneeled down next to Katsuki.

“Definitely not,” Katsuki hummed in amusement and kissed Izuku’s temple.

They worked in comfortable silence on Katsuki’s nest, their hands meeting occasionally when they reached for the same thing. Izuku handed Katsuki one of his recently used shirts and a wearable blanket to huddle up in. Once the nest was satisfactory for Katsuki, he huddled into the blankets and dragged his boyfriend down with him.

“I’m glad I went home and not back to work,” Katsuki hummed as he huddled close to Izuku. “I can deal with it fast now that you're here.”

“I’ll always take care of you,” Izuku smiled gently as he pulled Katsuki closer.

Katsuki sighed contentedly and closed his eyes as he rested his head on Izuku’s chest. Even before they were together he knew that Izuku would always be there for him. “I know.”
