Work Text:
Harvey sat in his classroom in the Montwise library, another hour or so and class would be in session. He hoped deeply that Osvald would visit soon and teach a class with him, while he hated talking and people in general he was an excellent teacher, especially of magic.
Harvey looked down at his half-drunk cup of coffee, a medium brown shade of liquid swished around. Harvey liked his coffee with milk and maybe sugar if he wanted. This was one of those times where he and Osvald differed.
Osvald had told him many times that pure back coffee was the “only correct option” when it came to coffee, much to the disgust of Harvey and their students. It was one of those traits that Osvald had which Harvey couldn’t help but smile to himself at.
“What’s got you all happy?” A voice cut through his thoughts, Osvald’s voice.
Harvey looked at the scholar “Thinking about coffee” he chuckled to himself.
“…coffee..?” Osvald asked, unsurprisingly taking a sip of his own drink.
“yes, about how people have so many different preferences for certain things, coffee being one of them” he said, keeping osvald’s name out of his mouth.
“hmm… an interesting topic… could be useful to research in the future” Osvald nodded, sitting across from Harvey at his desk, setting his coffee down.
“I don’t understand how you can drink it like that,” Harvey commented.
“hmm, you should try it, maybe then you’ll understand” Osvald replied absentmindedly
“I will if you try mine, just a sip” he smirked.
Osvald sighed “I’m not going to convince you otherwise am I?” He asked, knowing the answer.
Harvey shook his head, already grabbing Osvald’s cup “you will not!”
The other sighed again, grabbing Harvey’s glass, raising it slightly “you disgust me sometimes” he grumbled before taking a sip, gagging at the taste.
Harvey sipped Osvald’s, chocking on the bitterness “bleh- no wonder you’re so bitter”
Osvald chuckled “This certainly doesn’t make you sweet” he remarked.
Harvey nearly said a strongly worded retort when the first of their students entered the room.
“Good morning Professor Harvey. Professor Osvald, it’s good to see you” they smiled, sitting where they normally did “Forgive me for being so early, my reading took less time than I expected.”
“It’s alright my pupil, we’re just about finished with our preparations” Harvey lied, knowing that he and Osvald would work well even if they didn’t prepare anything together.
