Chapter Text
It had been relatively peaceful for the hushira the last few days, no missions and no work. Most of them had taken this as an opportunity to grow closer, but one (obviously) didn’t. Giyuu tomioka never liked socialising, for multiple reasons. First, he felt as if he didn’t deserve friends and that he’d fail them. Second? He didn’t want to grow closer to someone just to lose them. Not after last time. None of the hushira tried to befriend him anymore because he would ignore them, most thinking that he was arrogant, anyways, our story begins on a sunny day, a Thursday to be exact. And this was the day Giyuu tomioka got to have one last chance with someone he lost forever
“Ugh” a groan came from the boy mouth as he opened his eyes. Light shined though as he quickly shut them. After rubbing his eyes, the boy slowly opened them and saw his surroundings. It was an unfamiliar place, but he heard faint voices carrying through. “Did it, work?” The boy asked himself. He looked down at his hands, which were no longer transparent, but instead, you could not see through them. “It really worked”. The boys voice said quietly. Getting up, he brushed the dust off his clothes and went over what happened. He died, existed in heaven, and was given a second chance. Why, he didn’t know. All he knew is he had exactly 24 hours on earth and that he landed near his old friend. “He must be with those voices nearby” the boy said to himself. After checking that his katana was with him, the boy walked towards the sound. After reaching the area, he looked at where the voices were coming from. 9 demon slayers with golden button on their uniforms, showing they are hushira. And one of them was- “Tomioka-san!!” The shortest one, with purple eyes and a butterfly haori ran up to him. His friend ignored the butterfly girl, as the boy has named her, and continued sulking at the wall. Well, it looked like thinking, but he knew his friend was sulking. Why? That, he had no idea “Tomioka-san.. don’t you know it’s rude to ignore people?” The butterfly girl had practically whined at this, and the boy with peached coloured hair called sabito came up from where he was kinda hiding , crossed his arms, and said in his most teasing tone, “yeah Giyuu. It’s rude to ignore people
“Tomioka-san!!” Shinobu kocho’s voice rang through the area, which all the hushira were spending their time for the day. “Tomioka-san.. don’t you know it’s rude to ignore people?” Before Tomioka could respond, he felt someone come up behind him. Before he could turn around to see who it was, they spoke. “Yeh Giyuu. It’s rude to ignore people.” Tomioka’s hand fell to his katana as he stood like an idiot, complete surprise on his face, some of the most emotion he has had on him for a while. “Ya know, I think you need a lesson on manners, but that can wait, can’t it?” Before he could respond, sanemi spoke up, voice sharp as ever. “Only demon skaters are allowed here idiot. Get out before I cut you in half!” Shinobu spoke next, rivaling sanemi. “Now Shinazugawa, we should talk kindly to our guest, especially one who put so much emotion on tomioka-sans face!” Soon, all the hushira had joined into the conversation, and even though it was about Giyuu, they didn’t even look at him once. Still in shock, he jumped when a familiar voice whispered in his ear “so.. are your friend always ignoring you or is this just cause of my sudden arrival?” Sabitos voice rang through them, and tomioka nearby fell to his knees after hearing his voice for so long. Instead, he told sabito to wait as he told the others they were leaving. “You? Having friends to leave with? What, did you pay him to pretend to be friends with you?” Obani stated as Giyuu told everyone he was going with an old friend. Suddenly sabito was infront of Giyuu, and speaking to the hushira. “Where’s your respect?! Of course giyuus my friend! He’s kind, considerate, strong, and I could keep going, but I want to spend some time with my friend because I just got here, but have to leave in two days, so I’m going to spend some time with my amazing friend, Thank you very much! Giyuu looked as shocked as the other hushira, as he said goodbye to the speechless hushira and slowly turned to sabito, he grabbed his supposed to be dead friend, and dragged him away. As soon as they were out of sight, sound hushira tengen Uzui was the first to speak up. “So…. Kind, and considerate? Looks like his buddy hasn’t been around for awhile. Mitsuri spoke up next. @well, Maybe he’s just shy around us. We always assumed his silence was arrogance?” I DO BELIEVE THAT GIYUU ISN’T A BAD GUY” added Rengoku. “I’m going out to eat. This is too much” the hushira turned to sanemi, who was already walking away. Shinobu was next to leave, followed by Mitsuri and soon the other hushira. Meanwhile, at Tomiokas estate, Giyuu and sabito had just arrived. Sabito couldn’t help but notice how quiet it was, and how there was no decorations anywhere. After getting inside, Giyuu disappeared to find a clear chair, and came back with a stool. “Is that really all the furniture you have in your house?” Sabito asked with a teasing tone. Only to be replied with an empty voice. “How are you here? You died” there was barely any emotion, but sabito heard the slight crack in his voice as he said the last part. “Honestly? I was dead. I was chilling, and suddenly some random deity came and said.” Sabito made his voice deeper as he pretended to impersonate the deity, “ hey you! Want to go to earth for 24 hrs? Yes? Ok. You will land near a old friend. No strings attached! Bye!!!!” “ and then I landed near you and your friends!” At that, Giyuu knew that this was his old friend who died in final selection. He tried to keep his composure, but it broke as soon as he heard the next words come out of his friend’s mouth. “hug?” And at that, he jumped at him and burst into tears as sabito comforted him.
