The Hero’s Last Act

Summary:

Lumine asked Lyney to ‘kill’ her so she can finish her plan and save Teyvet from impending doom. (There are a lot of risks in this plan so Lyney really doesn’t want to do it.)

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Chapter 1: Why must I?

Notes:

Y’all this fanfic is kinda all over the place but I’ll figure it out.

Chapter Text

Lumine was a marvelous person, but Lyney often found himself wanting her to be his person. Whether through friendship or through love he wanted to be with her. He wanted to be as close to the warm, golden light emanating from her.

“Lyney,” Lumine said in a blunt tone.
“I uhm… what did you say?” Lyney asked, although he didn’t care for the answer. She could hear his voice crack slightly.

But it wasn’t just his voice that began to crack and crumble, his mask of composure did so too. He could feel it starting to dissolve, when he tried to hold it together it fell into his hands. He could feel the chipped porcelain cutting his palms and fingers, staining his gloves. Lyney, oh dear Lyney could feel the rich crimson liquid soak his show-gloves and felt the metallic substance flow into his mouth, a horrible copper taste swirling around his tongue.

“I said, you need to shoot me.”
