Peso has been out all day, finding for something he didn't think he'd ever have to find ever since joining the Octonauts. A proposal pebble—well in this context it'd be more of a courtship pebble but that's besides the point.
He was going to confess all his feelings to Shellington with a simple rock because he didn't know how else to tell the sea otter.
After all, these past months have been heaven and hell for the medic. A touch or glance shared between him and Shellington would ignite sparks, making Peso feel all giddy and happy about it. Then there'd be nights where he'd stay up thinking about the other—which kinda messed up his sleep schedule a bit. When he did sleep, he'd end up dreaming about the biologist.
At first he didn't really mind, why should he? It was just a little crush, everyone gets those! It'll go away in a month or two, hell even a week could do the trick.
Then a week passed, then another, then a month. Hmm,, how long has it been by now you may be wondering. Well it's been an amazing seven months and by then Peso's realized waiting this supposed phase out was not going to do anything.
So as any sensible penguin would do, he was going to face his feelings head on. By asking Shellington if he could court him. With a rock. Absolute cinema. If that's not romantic I don't know what is.
His hands searched through the rocky floor, trying to find the best looking pebble there. He doesn't even know whether or not Shellington would appreciate it. As a gentoo penguin, the acts of giving, receiving, and reciprocating a courtship/proposal pebble is considered one of the most intimate moments two penguins could share. To receive a pebble would be an immense honor.
Though what would it be to Shellington? If it were special to give pebbles between penguins what would it mean to give a rock between sea otters?
His hands stopped mid search at that thought.

"You know what maybe I should stop over thinking this too much" Peso sighed, continuing his search of a perfect pebble.
