Or

Charles is an asshole to Elaine and Sebastian gives him what he deserves.

Notes:

Hey, this is my first ever fic that I wrote at 3am after binge reading the webtoon so.. thanks for reading. I wish I could beat Charles up too. Bye.

Work Text:

Sebastian hated seeing Elaine cry. Though he couldn’t technically see it with his eyes he could feel it. He could hear her sniffle or whimper slightly. Or even, if he was lucky (and confident) enough to hold her hand he could feel her quivering or feel her when she breathes in shakily.

He could almost picture it in his mind although she didn’t know what she looked like, he had a hunch. Or… he might have begged Kadena to tell him. Not everything, just the basics: brown and curly hair, blue eyes except pink when she gets her feathers, dark skin, and she also described the clothing she had been wearing. He wasn’t proud about it, especially when he could have simply asked her herself but Sebastian chose to put it aside for now.

How was he supposed to think about that beautiful girl he’s apparently been falling for being sad and not feel the biggest hole in his heart. Especially when the amazing girl is sad over a….guy.

The prince has heard of Charles but has never been able to put a face to the name or even meet the guy. Elaine has told him many stories of the two. He doesn’t believe that Elaine could have been so in love this guy that Seb has already deemed evil. I mean who shoves another person into an inescapable, magic wall just because they saw some feathers? Apparently Mr. Fiancée! Sebastian found it absolutely absurd.

You can imagine the pure rage he was feeling when the two betrothed finally got to reunite but Charles decided to just ruin it by making the excited girl cry, and not of joy.

————————

Charles was leaned up against an unsettlingly big pillar, waiting for Elaine. He had planned this ahead, presumably being spotted by Kadena when taking a walk away from Isabelle and the others. Recognizing her, he immediately stopped in his tracks and demanded the poor bird to tell him where Elaine was. He was able to be calmed down enough to cooperate on planning a meet up of some kind and it landed us here.

Leaning against the pillar, Charles feels a slight brush of wind coming from movement and an unexpected arm wrap around his shoulders.

“Charles! You came for me!” Elaine squealed, practically jumping on him. She was so excited at the thought of her fiancée having a change of mind and still wanting to be with her. In a thought of him caring and coming to save her she ran up and enveloped him in an embrace without a second thought. Unfortunately for her, Charles in fact did not have a mind changing revelation, nor did he want to hug her.

“Tch, I pushed you away for a reason last time.” He scoffed, a revolted expression on his face, as he shoved her away from the hug.

“What?…” Elaine breathed out with a horrified look at Charles.

“You think I want to hug you after that whole thing went down? You’re still a monster.”

Tears started to well up in her eyes at the thought. Monster. Charles actually thought that about her. She began to tremble slightly, looking at her hands that have already started to form small black feathers facing towards her. Reaching up to touch her face, she could make out the same thing starting there. Monster. She actually thought that about herself. She thought Charles would understand because they were meant to be together, right? How could the girl be so naive to think he actually loved her? Elaine was cut off from her self deprecating thoughts and soft sobs that were being quickly developed to hear…Seb?

“She is not a monster! What is wrong with you?” He screamed loud enough for the whole kingdom to hear. He continued in a stern voice, never wavering.

“You see a few feathers, get freaked out, push your soon to be wife into an danger filled magic portal, and the first thing you say to her when you find out she’s not torn to pieces is ‘your a monster, I don’t wanna hug you’?!”

“Who-who are you? The bellhop?” (Yes, this is a reference) “she is a monster, there’s no doubting that. Look at her! She’s a freak.” Charles degrades.

“OH HELL NO-“

There is a quick moment of silence when he bellows and a small shrug from Charles as he turns around to have his back face them. Sebastian storms up to his smug face and…

-THWACK-

Sebastian’s fist hit Charles’s jaw with a loud crack.
And everything was still.

Everything quickly snapped back from the seemingly slow motion like state as Charles swung and Sebastian being blind, got hit in the chest. Although he got a hit in, Elaine began to wonder if he was even a hunter because it was incredibly weak. It barely fazed the man before him as Sebastian swept the others feet under, making him collapse to the ground. Sebastian kneeled down next to him and, nearly straddling him, swung at him again.

He struck Charles hard, this time in the nose area of his face, leaving a fist shaped red mark on it and part of his left cheek. Charles looked stunned like he couldn’t comprehend what was happening.

“And you deserve that! You filthy, hypocritical, nobody. An excuse for a fiancée and a prince.” Seb scolded, keeping eye contact with the receiver of the reprimand the entire time.

“Calm down! God, you’re a freak too.” That set him off again. He immediately returned to his method of shutting Charles up by giving him many firm, honestly impressive jabs anywhere and everywhere on the surface of his face.

Sebastian looked over at Elaine for the first time this violent exchange and she looked horrified. The prince started to slightly worry that she was scared or wanted him to stop but she noticed him looking and involuntarily grew a wide grin across her face,

This gave the prince the seemingly accurate idea that she was encouraging him to keep going.

He did just that as his hands collided with Charles for the eighth time in counting. The closing hit thumped along with a slight wince from the recipient. Sebastian couldn’t think straight, he was so blind with rage. He felt more blind than he normally is which, for anybody else would seem obvious but for him it means a lot. Heavily breathing, he was slowly slumping down so his body half fell but still stayed secure on his knees. All of his thoughts were overlapping, never coming across completely comprehensible. It must be why he was thinking so irrationally.

Apparently he was thinking rationally enough though to understand that the poor man has had enough. Sebastian stood up slowly, trembling. Everything that just happened was so crazy compared to anything he had seen before, at least from first person he hadn’t seen it before. The realization of what just happened set in as his eyes widened in a frozen state of shock.

Elaine walked up very carefully as if the man was a zoo animal. She did this partially because she didn’t want to startle or crowd him, but mostly because she was unsure if he was finished punching things yet.

“Hey…Seb?” He turned around at her, wide eyed. Though he was blind, he impressively managed to look right at her and lock non-existent eyes with the girl.

“Y-you okay? That was really intense, you still here?” She stuttered out, wobbling slightly as she walked towards him, now with more confidence. He snapped out of it when hearing her voice again.

“Oh! Right, are all of you okay? What happened- wait never mind I know what happened. Elaine, are you okay, hun? I’m sorry that all happened.” He finally spoke out.

“Yeah, yeah I’m fine, it’s okay” Elaine cooed.

“Is he okay?” Seb questioned, making a hand gesture to Charles, who was now on the floor, out cold.

“Eh. I think he’ll be fine. Walk it off and all.” They both made an attempt at not letting out the small giggle that was bubbling up in them. Seb, feeling lucky (and confident) grabbed onto Elaine’s hand feeling her soft ski- well…now feathers. They both were blushing profusely as they tried their best to start and make their way back home.
