Work Text:
the winter nights in london always held a stillness that felt almost oppressive, like the world had paused in place, leaving only the soft whispers of snowflakes drifting against the window.
but inside, the silence between robert and dio was anything but peaceful. it was thick, a weight that pressed down on robert’s chest, making his heart race. dio sat across the room, legs crossed casually, absorbed in the newspaper robert had left on the nightstand.
the dim light of a dusty old lampshade, once pure white, now faded with time bathed the room in a warm, golden glow. it highlighted dio’s almost ethereal beauty. his pale skin seemed to shimmer in the soft light, and the hint of a smirk on his lips made him look like something out of a dream, a vision robert could hardly believe was real. robert couldn’t look away, mesmerized by the sight of him, as if dio were something he could never quite reach, yet desperately longed to.
lost in his thoughts, robert turned to the window, watching the snow fall heavier, the flakes collecting against the glass in quiet drifts. the silence between them was suffocating, yet he was too afraid to break it. he didn’t want to admit how badly he wanted to reach out, to close the distance, to feel the warmth of dio’s presence beside him. did dio feel the same? robert wasn’t sure. all he knew was that dio’s presence filled the room like smoke, lingering, intoxicating, and impossible to escape.
“robert,” dio’s voice sliced through his thoughts, smooth and seductive, pulling him back to the present.
his heart leaped. “ah—yes…?” robert stammered, turning to face him, though his gaze dropped quickly, unable to meet dio’s eyes. the heat that spread across his face only deepened his embarrassment.
dio’s lips curled into a knowing smile, eyes twinkling with mischief. he leaned forward slightly, lowering his voice to a soft, teasing whisper. “don’t be shy now. come sit with me.” his fingers brushed the side of the sofa, an invitation, but it felt more like a challenge.
robert’s pulse quickened, and he felt the heat rush to his cheeks. he didn’t want to seem too eager, didn’t want to give in so easily. but dio’s words had the kind of pull he couldn’t resist. “i’m… not coy,” he muttered, his voice thick with nerves as he made his way to the sofa. he sat beside dio, but there was a small, almost ridiculous space between them, as though that distance could keep him from feeling the weight of everything.
dio’s eyes gleamed with amusement, studying him carefully. “oh, but you are,” he teased, his tone light but underlined with something more. “it’s cute though. i don’t mind.” with that, he leaned over, his shoulder brushing gently against robert’s, the unexpected intimacy sending a jolt of warmth through robert’s chest.
robert stiffened, his breath catching in his throat. “you…don’t you think that’s enough?” his voice faltered, and despite his best effort to sound firm, the tremor in his words gave him away. “you don’t have to tease me like that.”
dio chuckled softly, a low, amused sound that resonated through robert’s chest. “where’s the fun in that? besides, i can tell you enjoy it.” his fingers brushed against robert’s arm, and the light touch sent a shiver down his spine. “but don’t worry, i’ll let you off the hook for now. i know you feel it too.”
robert, still facing away, struggled to steady his breathing. dio’s closeness made it almost impossible to think clearly. his heart was pounding in his chest, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t pull himself away from the heat that radiated off of dio. and then, without warning, dio’s cold fingers grazed his cheek, gently turning his face toward him.
robert’s breath caught in his throat, his pulse racing as dio’s touch sent a thrill through him. the softness of dio’s hand, the coldness of his skin, it felt so intimate, so intimate it made everything else fade away. time seemed to slow, and for a moment, nothing else existed but the two of them.
the faint scent of red wine lingered on dio’s lips, a heady reminder of the nights they’d spent together. robert finally understood why dio had been so flirtatious lately. he couldn’t help but whisper, “been in my liquor again, huh?”
dio’s smirk deepened, his eyes darkening with something deeper than mischief. “mm… can you really blame me?” his voice was low, almost seductive. the warmth of robert, sent a shiver down his spine. something about this felt so…right. he didn’t pull his hand away; instead, he let it slide slowly down robert’s neck, as his fingers traced the curve of his skin.
robert flinched, unable to suppress the shudder that followed. dio could feel it, the small tremor that ran through him, and the smirk that curled at dio’s lips became something darker, more predatory.
“i only wanted a glass,” dio murmured, his voice softer now, a contrast to the intensity in his gaze. “you never cared to make me one yourself… so i took advantage.”
robert’s eyes darkened in response, the playful teasing shifting into something more serious. he leaned in closer, his breath warm against dio’s ear as he whispered, “well, you should have asked then. i would have made you one. but now…” his hand moved to rest gently on dio’s chest, feeling the soft, rapid beat of his heart beneath it. “…i think we’ve both had our fill of games for tonight, don’t you?”
dio’s eyes lowered for a moment, but he didn’t break eye contact. his own breath was shallow, his chest tight with the tension between them. “oh, get over yourself, you brute,” dio laughed, but the sound was laced with warmth, a softness that seemed to draw robert in even further. his fingers stayed on robert’s chest, feeling the quickened rhythm of his heartbeat, and something about that connection made dio feel both victorious and more intrigued than ever.
robert closed his eyes, allowing himself to feel the weight of dio’s presence, his touch, the warmth that seemed to radiate from him like a gentle fire. everything else faded into nothingness. the teasing had dissolved into something deeper…something unspoken, but tangible in the heavy silence that surrounded them.
dio, sensing the shift, pulled back just enough to break the physical contact, but not the emotional connection. he smiled softly, his usual cocky edge softened for a moment. “i think you’re finally starting to understand, robert,” dio murmured, his smile almost tender, something genuine slipping through his usual arrogance. “it’s okay to give in. we both know you’re falling for me.”
robert didn’t respond, but the way his breath hitched, the way his fingers curled into the fabric of the sofa, was all the answer dio needed.
dio’s gaze became gentler still, but the allure, the seduction, was never far behind. “even without saying a word, i already know my answer, robert.” his voice was rich with satisfaction, but there was an edge of something more, something like certainty.
he sat up, reaching for the liquor. “i’m going to pour us both a glass, you stay sat.” he shot a glance over his shoulder, meeting robert’s gaze with a knowing look that left robert a flustered mess. dio smirked at him, his eyes glinting with mischief, before he turned and walked off, disappearing from robert’s view.
robert, left to himself, reached up to graze the side of his neck the same spot where dio’s fingers had touched. he found himself mimicking the motion, almost unconsciously, but the thought of dio’s hand there, his cold touch, sent a flush through him. the thought of dio drinking his blood…of those sharp fangs sinking into his skin it sent shivers down his spine, the sensation almost too intoxicating.
the idea of it…the concept of it, was both terrifying and thrilling. what would it feel like? he couldn’t push the thought from his mind, no matter how hard he tried.
he cursed softly under his breath. his body ached with desire, but this was a desire he was unsure he could name.
dio returned, holding two glasses of wine, the same shade as his eyes. robert’s gaze met his, and for a moment, it felt like time stopped. dio sat down beside him, handing him a glass with that same mischievous smile, the one that made robert’s heart skip a beat.
robert looked down at his drink, the warmth of dio so close making the desire bubbling inside him harder to ignore. he took a quick sip, glancing at dio, who drank slowly, savoring it. robert noticed the calmness in his movements, and it only made him more nervous. dio was always so composed, and robert was just…lost in him.
when robert set his glass down, he couldn’t resist any longer. he reached out, turning dio to face him, his hands steady but his heart racing. leaning back against the sofa, he gently guided dio to rest on top of him. there was a brief pause, just the two of them breathing, close but not quite touching.
“you always make it look so easy.” robert murmured, his voice quieter than usual, his hands resting against dio’s back. “don’t you ever wonder if someone doesn’t feel the same?”
dio’s eyes softened for a moment, but the smirk never fully left. “you’re asking the wrong question,” dio replied, his voice playful yet serious. “the real question is… will you admit it?”
robert’s chest tightened, a flutter of nerves and something deeper. he met dio’s gaze, and for a moment, everything felt raw. “maybe i already have.” he whispered, the words slipping out before he could stop them.
dio’s smile grew, but it was softer now. “good,” he whispered back, his voice lowering. “because i’ve been waiting.”
robert’s breath hitched as dio leaned closer, their lips almost touching. there was a quiet tension between them, heavy with unspoken feelings. dio’s fingers brushed against robert’s, sending a small shiver through him. it wasn’t just the kiss robert wanted anymore it was everything.
and that was exactly what he received. the two of them melted into a kiss, tender yet consuming, a kiss neither of them had known they’d been yearning for all this time.
robert pulled away just as suddenly, his breath shallow, his eyes locking with dio’s. in that moment, he lost himself in them. dio’s eyes, those hauntingly deep, molten red eyes seemed to pierce through him, a gaze so intense it felt almost surreal. no one else’s gaze had ever held this kind of weight, this kind of power.
the tension between them was palpable, thick with desire, growing heavier with each passing second. they stood on the edge of something neither of them had dared to touch until now. for robert, the time felt…right.
“dio,” his voice was barely above a whisper, trembling as he spoke. he stared into dio’s eyes, his heart pounding in his chest. “i want you to take my blood.”
dio’s eyes widened, caught between surprise and intrigue. he had never expected such a request certainly not from someone like robert. in all his years of wandering as a vampire, no one had ever willingly offered their blood to him. it was an unspoken boundary, one he never thought anyone would dare cross. yet here robert was, standing so close, his breath mingling with his, his words heavy with meaning.
the weight of the request hung in the air. dio hesitated, uncertainty flickering in his gaze. would it hurt him? would he kill him? he couldn’t stand the thought of doing something irreversible.
but a part of him, something deeper, something unspoken told him that robert trusted him. it was almost as if robert needed this. and dio… dio couldn’t let that need go unanswered.
“are you sure?” dio’s voice was a low murmur, almost hesitant. “i don’t want to hurt you.”
robert’s hand reached up, fingers grazing dio’s jaw, a silent reassurance. “i trust you,” he said, his voice unwavering. “i trust you more than anyone else.”
dio’s heart skipped a beat, something dark and hungry stirring within him. he’d never wanted to take anything from someone more than he did now, but the fear of damaging robert kept him still. but he couldn’t stop now…
he leaned in closer, his breath hot against robert’s skin. “this is what you want…?” he asked, voice thick with both desire and caution. he could feel the pull of robert’s blood already, the temptation almost too much to resist.
robert nodded, his gaze steady, unwavering. “yes. i want you to take all of me, dio.”
the words sent a jolt through dio, and with it, a wave of heat, of longing, that he couldn’t suppress any longer. he closed the distance, his lips brushing against robert’s ear as he whispered, “then i’ll take everything you’re willing to give.”
in return, robert braced himself, tilting his head back, surrendering to the vulnerability of the moment. every fiber of his being was tense, yet there was something about dio’s touch, something in the way he held him, that made it feel almost natural, inevitable.
dio’s lips ghosted over the side of robert’s neck, a teasing brush, and then, in a sudden, sharp motion, dio’s fangs sank into the delicate skin of his throat, breaking through with a soft, almost imperceptible pressure. robert’s breath caught, a slight wince escaping his lips as the sting of pain rushed through him.
dio’s grip on the back of robert’s head tightened slightly, a silent signal of the raw power behind the moment. robert, in turn, gripped dio’s back with a desperation he couldn’t quite control, his fingers digging in as if to anchor himself to the earth itself.
the sharpness of the bite sent a pulse of pain through him, but there was something else there, something addictive, almost overwhelming in its intensity. he couldn’t tell where the pain ended and the pleasure began, the two sensations swirling together in a dizzying whirlpool. his body trembled, his heartbeat erratic as he tried to keep his focus, but it was getting harder and harder with dio’s presence, his grip, and the weight of everything between them.
he gasped softly, voice barely a whisper. “dio…” the word came out as a soft plea, not for mercy, but for more. more of everything. more of this intoxicating feeling.
dio’s fangs pressed deeper, his hunger insatiable, but so was the quiet reverence in the way he held robert. it wasn’t just a physical act, there was something far more intimate about it, something that pulled at the very core of him. robert could feel dio’s pulse, his heartbeats, syncing with his own. a strange, vulnerable connection that neither of them had expected but both had wanted for so long.
with every draw of blood, dio felt himself slipping deeper into the fire of robert’s desire, the burning need that matched his own. this is what it feels like, dio thought, feeling robert’s fingers tug him closer, urging him to take more, to give more. the passion, the weight of everything unspoken between them…it was all too much to hold back now.
he pulled back slightly, just enough to look robert in the eyes, the blood staining his lips, his eyes glowing with an unrestrained hunger. “does it hurt?” dio asked, his voice rough, almost tender.
robert’s fingers traced the back of dio’s neck, feeling the tension there, but there was no hesitation in his answer. “yes,” he whispered, his voice shaking with the weight of his confession. “but it’s the kind of pain i can’t walk away from. i need it, dio. i need you.”
dio’s heart skipped a beat, and he leaned forward, his lips brushing against robert’s ear. “then take all of me,” he breathed. “and i’ll give you everything.”
the words sent a surge of warmth through robert’s chest, and he closed his eyes for a moment, letting the feeling wash over him. there was no turning back now. they were bound in this moment, in this shared need, and robert could feel it in every part of him the way their bodies moved together, the way their hearts beat in unison.
he pulled dio closer, their bodies pressed together so tightly that he could feel every tremor, every breath, every beat of dio’s heart. he wanted to lose himself completely in this. he wanted to be consumed. he was ready to give everything.
and so they stayed there, in that tangled embrace, the weight of their emotions, their desires, drawing them into a new world where there was no beginning, no end only the inescapable pull between them.
