Work Text:
In the mornings, all Calliope wanted to do was sleep. But today was new. Different. Today was her first day at the new school, her grandmother had picked out for her. The best of the best in Japan, apparently. She wanted to be helpful to her grandmother, sure, but school? Not truly her style. So, starting as a 3rd year in Holo Academy, Mori Calliope was ready to rock and roll.
“Calli, dear, are you ready? It’s almost time!,” called out Calliope’s grandmother, standing at the last few steps of the stairs, tapping her foot impatiently. “Be right down, granny!” Calli responded calmly, coming down the stairs in her school uniform gifted to her the night prior, smelling something delightfully sweet from the kitchen. Calliope’s grandmother was always cooking, and she never disappointed.
While on the walk to school with her grandmother, Calliope noticed something. A garden. Filled to the brim with the most beautiful cherry blossoms, and in the middle… the most gorgeous girl ever, with short, messy brown hair that covered her eyes, and the peek of blue from the curls mesmerized Calliope. And it seems that there was also a couple near the (beautiful) woman (of Calliope’s dreams), one with greenish white hair, who was leaning on the shorter one, who had a Halloween themed hoodie atop her normal uniform, and was laughing along with something the green one said. Now, the woman of Mori Calliope’s dreams was coaxing them up and running to get to school. While Calliope was daydreaming, her grandmother, who was rightfully pissed, as they had not moved for 7 minutes, because Calli was gawking at another student.
“Mori Calliope! Snap outta it! You cannot keep staring, come on, we have a class to get you to!” yelled her grandmother. Calli replied, a bit startled by the noise, “You mean I have a class to get to? I’m gonna get smart!”
“Yeah, yeah… have a fun day.” responded her grandmother, eager to get back to cooking.
As Calliope entered the school, her senses were attacked by students, foods, the talking and gossip, the music, and such a lively atmosphere- oh it was the pretty girl again. She was walking down to her shoe locker… Sekret was her last name… the child of Aphrodite, she assumed… but Sekret was an okay name. And the green one’s last name was Immergreen, and the hooded one was Murin… how… fun? Mundane? Not like everyone was some freaking hoodlum, like she was, but like… it seemed quite unique and plain at the same time. But as she walked to her first class of the day, shining, ready to be adored, she ran into someone.
Some red lady. But one name echoed around her as Calli fell to the ground, books tumbling in her vision. Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame. Edgy. Probably fake. Who cares anyway?? Alright, time to confront this lady and tell her to buzz off. But before she could say anything, Elizabeth quickly started collecting the scattered books and hurriedly said, clearly panicking, “Oh my goodness! I’m so sorry! Are you alright?” The poor girl was nice after all. Maybe Calli had judged too quickly.
