Chapter Text
Halloween was never something special for Caitlyn. Ever since she could remember, she had to forgo trick or treating in lieu of standing an arms length away from her mother, father or on the exceptionally rare occasion, Jayce Talis, for the annual Kiramman All Hallow’s Eve Charity Gala. A mind numbingly boring event loaded with schmoozing lobbyists trying to win over her mother’s affection in a crude attempt at getting their agendas pushed through the council.
So when her mother agreed that her attendance this year was unnecessary, Caitlyn had figured the moon had fallen out of the sky and crashed to the earth right in front of her.
Which was how she supposed she wound up here, dressed in a white button up shirt with ruffled sleeves tucked into a pair of high waisted black jeans, and a pair of black archer boots. The rather expensive fake fangs she had bought were digging rather uncomfortably into her gums, but she was happy to look the part of a vampire.
The red solo cup in her hand was filled with some sort of bright green food colored jungle juice, as music throbbed through the frat house around them. Her friends, Seraphine and Ahri, had invited dragged her out to the first frat party Piltover University had to offer, which would have been fine had the two not immediately split off in search of someone to crawl into bed with.
What was supposed to be a fun night of dancing with her friends had turned into her clinging to the walls of the rooms she drifted through, dodging couples engrossed in sloppy make-out sessions, and avoiding every straight man that came her way insisting on dancing with her. On that end of the spectrum, she was quite annoyed at the profound lack of women that she found any sort of interest in.
She was proud of her gaydar, it was nearly completely accurate. She was almost certain she could clock other lesbians down to the way their shoelaces rested on their shoes. It really wasn’t a secret that she herself was gay, not with the way she had managed to somehow sleep her way through part of the women’s basketball team within her first two semesters of college.
So after the now fifth less-than-gentlemanly attempt at getting her to dance, she had resigned herself to staying along the walls to wait out Ahri and Seraphine’s attempts to get laid. As she raised her solo cup to her lips, she was immediately disappointed to feel it being snatched away. The soothing burn of alcohol was sorely missed, as she found herself turning to glare at whoever dared take her drink.
Only for her heart to immediately leap into her throat at the sight of one of the single most handsome women she had seen at this college thus far. She wasn’t from Piltover, no, she had to have been from Zaun with her black hair, leather jacket, tattoos and piercings proudly on display. Caitlyn watched with rapt attention as her drink was replaced with an unopened beer, her jungle juice being poured directly into a house plant. Which immediately reignited her ire.
“Exactly what the hell do you think you're doing?” She hissed at the Zaunite woman, who looked into the bottom of the cup with an annoyed expression. She tipped it to the side for Caitlyn to see, a halfway dissolved pill stuck against the bottom of the cup. How the hell had that gotten there?
“Last guy you rejected dropped that in there when he was walking away. Took me a minute to find the kitchen, you didn’t drink any did you?” The Zaunite tossed the cup into a black garbage bag that was nearly full, balancing precariously on top of two other tied off ones.
“No, and I suppose that’s for the best. My name’s Caitlyn. And you are?” Caitlyn cracked open the beer, taking a long drink. She knew it would hardly affect her, she had been drinking wine with dinner almost every night since she was at least sixteen.
“Vi.” The Zaunite huffed, tucking her hands into the pockets of her jacket. She leaned against the wall beside her, surveying the crowd of party goers with little enthusiasm. “Who dragged you here?”
“My friends invited me to come along, thank you very much. Seraphine and Ahri, they’re performing arts majors.” Caitlyn hummed, taking another sip of her beer. Vi’s gaze landed on her once again, flicking back to the crowd. “Did you come here by yourself?”
“No.” Vi sighed, nodding her head towards a girl with long, slightly curled red hair who was currently shoving her tongue as far down another girl’s throat as she could. Caitlyn shuddered before turning back to Vi. She had a solemn look on her face as she sniffed rather incredulously. “That would be my ex-girlfriend. Asked me to come with her, and dumped me about five minutes ago in front of several people I thought were my friends.”
“That’s… awful.” Caitlyn sighed now too, offering her beer to Vi, who shook her head with a forced smile. “You going to keep watching like some sort of cuck, or do you want to get some fresh air with me?” Caitlyn had no idea where that came from, and was nearly ready to apologize before Vi cracked a devastating smirk.
“Fresh air it is.” She huffed as she pushed off the wall, dramatically offering her hand to Caitlyn. She took it, immediately of course, and allowed the slightly shorter woman to lead her from the wall and out to the back patio. Vi’s hand was cold, something she had chalked up to the weather.
It was a rather chilly night, and those party goers that weren’t currently huddled around the fire pit were milling about the backyard, clutched together as if trying to sap each other’s body warmth. As the night wore on they found themselves tucked into the back corner of the porch, perched on a rather comfortable swing. Vi’s jacket had found its way onto Caitlyn’s shoulders, keeping her warm now.
“Ugh and so she tried to submit the document outline without my name on it and the professor had to email the head of his department to get my access to it restored.” Caitlyn lamented, leaning against the back of the swing, allowing Vi to continue keeping it in motion. Vi snorted, flicking the ash off the end of the cigarette she was smoking.
“All because you wouldn’t sleep with her? That’s such bullshit.” Vi took one last drag from the cigarette before crushing it on the side of the railing, flicking it off the side of the porch and into the bushes below. “I think the worst for me was this absolutely tiny little redhead I got assigned to work on a sociology paper with. She was insistent that she did most of the work and deserved a higher grade than me.”
“Well… did she?”
“Fuck no, I wrote the whole thing and slapped her name on it. The professor checked the handwriting and almost keeled over from laughter when he saw that she hadn’t even written her name on it.” Vi leaned back as well now, Caitlyn’s heart beating faster as her leg brushed up against her own. Vi’s eyes finally meeting hers. “Can I say something… kinda weird?”
“Yeah, I’m all for it.”
“Your eyes are just fucking stunning.”
The shudder that tiptoed its way up her spine was an effect of the chilling wind, completely still air be damned. Vi was close, and she leaned ever closer, her arm on the backside of the swing behind Caitlyn now. Despite being caged in, she felt strangely calm. Even in the low light, she could clearly see Vi’s own eyes, stunningly silver. Molten with heat.
Warmth pooled in her lower stomach, her heartbeat picking up in her ears. A cold hand slowly cupped her chin, tipping it up, Vi’s thumb brushing her bottom lip. She parted them easily, a devilishly handsome smirk gracing Vi’s own. The pad of Vi’s thumb pressed against the tip of one of her fake fangs, Caitlyn’s breath catching in her throat.
“Caitlyn? Caitlyn! Are you out here?” Ahri’s voice cut through the quiet air outside. Vi released her hold on Caitlyn’s face, sliding far enough away to seem casual. Heat continued to remain stagnant between her legs, and she took several deep breaths before standing up, the swing shaking minutely as she did.
“I’m over here, Ahri, is everything alright?” Caitlyn turned to look at Vi, only for the space she was occupying to be dreadfully empty. As Caitlyn scanned the backyard, she found no evidence of the Zaunite at all. What the hell? Was any of that real?
“Yeah, not really. There’s no good guys here so we were gonna head to another party. Did you want to come along?” Ahri bounced from her heels to her toes, the cheerleader costume she wore doing nothing to protect her from the cold. “Cool jacket! Where’d you find it?”
It then dawned on her that Vi was, in fact, real, and had disappeared into thin air without her jacket. Caitlyn tucked her hands into the pockets, shrugging as her fingers brushed a lighter. She resisted the urge to pull it out, instead just focusing on its texture. The case had some sort of embossing covering the whole front, while the back seemed to have an engraving.
“Someone left it on the swing here, thought I’d borrow it. I’m going to head home, if that’s alright with you?” Caitlyn turned her attention back to Ahri, who just nodded. Her eyes were locked on something over Caitlyn’s shoulder, and as Caitlyn turned her head to look, she found nothing there.
“How about I walk you? I feel bad for just leaving you here by your lonesome.” Ahri gently took her by the wrist, leading her from the backyard through the house and to the front door. Seraphine met them by it, a fake smile on her face that had Caitlyn confused. Just what the hell was going on?
“I can walk by myself, it's only two blocks. I’ll be fine.” Caitlyn pulled her wrist out of Ahri’s, a panicked look washing over her face. Seraphine shifted closer now, almost too close as she adjusted the collar of Vi’s leather jacket on her shoulders.
“You call me the second you get in the door, okay?” Seraphine was uncharacteristically serious, a scowl painted on her face that would have been funny had she not been in such a mood. Her eyes flicked back over Caitlyn’s shoulder, before she flashed a dazzling smile. “We’ll be home by three a.m.”
The walk was chilly, her pants not nearly thick enough to combat the wind. She shuddered, pulling the jacket tighter around her shoulders. She tucked her hands back into the pockets, fingers brushing that lighter once more. Curiosity got the better of her, and she pulled it out now. The front had an embossing of what looked like a family crest, a bat with its wings spread with a banner beneath it that read ‘Nox Sine Fine’
“Night without end.” Caitlyn murmured, as the ran her fingers over it. The lighter was old, the corners worn completely smooth. She flipped it over, scanning the engraving on the back when it was plucked out of her hand. She barely bit back her scream, whipping around on her heel to find Vi standing there, tucking the lighter into her pocket.
“Snooping?” She grinned at her, her pearly white teeth glinting in the street light. Caitlyn could see her better now, her skin pale. Tattoos crawled up her arms, underneath the tight black shirt she wore, peeking out along her neck. “It’s rude to stare, cupcake.”
“It's rude to just disappear on someone too.” Caitlyn huffed, turning on her heel once more to continue her walk home. Vi fell into stride with her, tucking her hands into her pockets with an easy confidence that was rather infuriating. “Quit following me.”
“Just making sure you get home safe. It is All Hallow’s Eve after all.” Vi spoke dramatically, adding a strange accent to her words that had laughter bubbling out of Caitlyn’s chest. “So, I didn't get to ask. Why a vampire of all costumes?”
“Ugh that’s such a…” Caitlyn rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest with a huff. “There's a rumor that the Kiramman’s are secretly vampires because I am the spitting image of my great-great-great grandmother.”
“I can see the resemblance for sure, but you two have your differences.” Vi responded in a deadpan, Caitlyn furrowing her brow in confusion before snorting. Vi cracked a shit eating grin, and for the first time that night, Caitlyn realized her canines were sharper than normal. “You make a pretty good vampire, actually. Except, ruffles went out in the 1600s, cupcake.”
“Oh hush! I rather like my ruffled shirt.” She huffed as they turned the corner onto the street the townhouse her mother insisted on renting for her was on. Vi didn’t seem to falter, instead following suit. “We’re almost there. Would you like to come inside to warm up a bit?”
“Ooh inviting someone you just met into your home?” Vi teased, untucking her hands to pull out a pack of cigarettes. She pulled one out, that lighter coming out and easily clicking to life before she snapped it shut. Caitlyn definitely did not miss that she hadn’t agreed or denied to come in.
Caitlyn paused under a street light, Vi coming to a stop beside her with a bemused grin, taking a long drag off the cigarette before tipping her head back and blowing the smoke into the air above them.
“You’re a strange one, Vi.” Caitlyn rolled her eyes before continuing their walk, slipping her hands into the pockets of her borrowed jacket.
“I’m strange?” Vi grinned at her, falling once more into stride with her. She flicked the ash off the end of the cigarette, Caitlyn tracking the ember as it fizzled out. “You don’t know the half of it.
“Do you always follow girls home after you ‘rescue’ them?”
“Only the hot ones.” Vi snorted. They reached the stairs up to the townhouse faster than she would have liked, and she couldn’t help the frown that graced her lips. Would she ever see Vi again? Or was this just an off chance meeting, fates intertwining for just a single night. “Why the long face, sweet girl?”
“Will you come inside?”
“Your friends will be back soon.”
“So what? If any of us deserve to get laid tonight, it's me.”
“Caitlyn, I..” Vi scratched the back of her head, gazing up the street, before checking the time on her phone. Caitlyn swallowed rather thickly, mentally preparing herself for the rejection. Vi crushed the cigarette on the sole of her shoe, flicking it into the gutter. “Lead the way.”
Caitlyn all but ran up the steps, Vi chuckling and following her in tow. Once she was barely through the door, she found herself pressed against it, Vi’s lips crashing to hers hard. She groaned into her mouth, rolling her hips forward.
Vi seemed to have gotten the message, her thigh slotting between Caitlyn’s legs for her to grind against it. She could taste the cigarette on her lips, just barely there mint as well. The kiss became teeth and tongues, Caitlyn panting hard into the other woman’s mouth.
Vi broke the kiss, letting Caitlyn suck in some much needed air. Her thumb pulled down her bottom lip, a smirk gracing her own lips. Caitlyn’s tongue darted out to brush against it, Vi’s free hand snaking up her chest and coming to rest just under her throat.
That thumb found a fake fang again, pushing against it. Vi’s lips parted, a chill travelling down Caitlyn’s spine as those unusually sharp teeth were larger than they had been before. She didn’t recall Vi wearing fake fangs earlier either.
She reached up, her own thumb brushing one, only for a sharp pain erupt from the tip. She watched as blood spilled down her thumb, Vi’s tongue catching it and dragging up the length of it. Vi’s right hand sank into the hair at the back of her neck, the hand on her chest trailing to her wrist as she turned it, pushing up her sleeve and pressing her lips to it.
“May I?” Vi rasped, those silver eyes never leaving her own. Caitlyn shivered again, before nodding. Vi’s fangs hurt for only a split second before heat welled between her legs. Vi’s lips sealed around the wound, her tongue lapping at the skin.
Caitlyn couldn’t hold back the moan, her knees threatening to buckle beneath her. Vi pulled back after what felt like hours but was in reality just moments, her mouth stained with blood as she wrapped an arm around Caitlyn’s waist. She whined, a pitiful sound as Vi easily lifted her.
“Which one is your room?” Vi purred, dragging her tongue over the wrist she fed from. Caitlyn groaned, her head dropping against Vi’s shoulder.
“Upstairs, end of the hall.” They were there faster than Caitlyn ever could had thought. A genuine laugh escaped her lips at the thought of Vi being so enthusiastic to get her into bed.
“Gods, your laugh is intoxicating.” Vi purred, easily opening the door with one hand. A buzzing on Caitlyn’s hip slightly soured the mood, and as Vi set her down she scrambled to pull her phone out of her pocket.
“Seraphine, hello! I am alive-“
“Cait! I told you to call me the second you got home!” Seraphine practically shouted through the phone. Vi snorted, sitting on the edge of her bed, her knees falling open, enticing Caitlyn to sit in her lap. “Is someone there with you?”
“Y-yeah I had actually met her at the party-“
“I’m coming home. Don’t let her in the house.”
“Too late for that.” Vi practically purred, snaking her arm around Caitlyn’s waist. Caitlyn giggled, and whether it was from the alcohol or from just not caring anymore, she straddled one of those muscled thighs. Caitlyn shrugged off the heavy leather jacket, letting it thud to the floor.
“Yeah, bit too late for that. Sera, I’m kinda busy? I’ll call you back.” Caitlyn hung up before her roommate could continue, silencing her phone before tossing it over Vi’s shoulder. Her lips met the Zaunite’s, lukewarm hands slipping under her shirt, smoothing over her stomach. They rounded her back as deft fingers easily unclasped her bra, Vi swallowing the gasp that escaped her lips.
Caitlyn rolled her hips, grinding herself against the thigh beneath her. Vi’s hand fell to her hip, pulling her down further as her tongue darted between her lips. Caitlyn gasped into the kiss once again, allowing herself the luxury of losing her carefully arranged control.
Vi flipped their positions with ease, and Caitlyn found herself on her back, pinned beneath the Zaunite. Vi broke the kiss as she worked each button of Caitlyn’s shirt open, dreadfully slow, something akin to torture. Once the front of her shirt was open, Caitlyn propped herself up on her elbows, allowing her lover to slide it from her shoulders.
“Stunning.” Vi purred as she eased Caitlyn’s bra off as well, her pupils blown wide, barely rimmed with silver. She pressed her lips to the top of one of her breasts, her hands coming up to knead at the flesh. “Gorgeous.” She murmured into her skin, hissing one last word out before taking a dusky nipple into her mouth. “Mine.”
Caitlyn’s head fell back, her fingers tangling in the raven hair at the back of Vi’s head. Vi hummed out a low laugh, sharp fangs barely grazing her skin. It felt like playing with fire, one wrong move and she would be sliced open. Vi pulled away, peppering kisses along the tops of her breasts before working her way up to her throat.
Calloused fingers slipped down her stomach, finding the waistband of her pants with ease, and flicking the top button of her pants. Vi continued her punishingly slow pace, undoing each button as slowly as the ones on her shirt. Caitlyn writhed beneath her, Vi chuckling against her skin before pain erupted from the side of Caitlyn’s throat, soon melding into a dull pleasure.
As Vi drank from her, her mouth fell open to a near constant moan. She felt euphoria like she never had before, and Vi hadn’t even truly begun touching her yet. She arched her back, raising her hips as Vi’s hands began tugging down her pants, her fangs still rooted in her neck.
Caitlyn gasped as cool fingers sank into her underwear with little preamble, little caution, and slipped over her already soaked folds. She ground against the intrusion, a moan fighting its way out of her lips as Vi began rubbing her clit in earnest, stars building in the corners of her vision.
Vi pulled away from her throat, dragging her tongue over the wound before easing Caitlyn down onto the mattress. With her free hand, she easily tore Caitlyn’s underwear. As Caitlyn’s lidded eyes cracked open, she was met with the sight of Vi’s mouth smeared with blood, her eyes no longer silver, instead an enchanting, glowing red color.
“Vi, if you don’t fuck me-“ Caitlyn didn’t need to finish her sentence as two thick fingers sank into her awaiting heat, a sharp moan escaping her lips as Vi began to brutally piston her fingers inside her.
“Where’s that attitude now, pretty girl?” Vi hissed as her fingers found a spot within her that made the stars in her vision flicker. The pad of her thumb landed on her clit, and her climax exploded within her without warning. The muscles in her thighs constricted, her back arching off the bed as Vi fucked her through her orgasm. “There you fucking go, good fucking girl.”
“Fuck!” Caitlyn writhed against her hand, bucking her hips. Just when it got to be too much, Vi pulled back, easing Caitlyn’s hips back to the mattress. Caitlyn shuddered at the feeling, as Vi gently unfolded the heavy blanket at the end of her bed and covered her.
Downstairs, Caitlyn could hear the door open. Vi pressed one last kiss to her lips before opening her window and slipping back out into the night. The only evidence of her lover being her torn underpants, and the pain in her neck. She began dozing off just as her bedroom door opened, Seraphine letting out a string of hushed curses that had a dopey smile spreading across her face.
