Work Text:

A war across time and space. This sounded like one of the stories he grew up on, one of the stories that made him dislike the idea of being a ‘hero’ and saving his land because he couldn't act like that.

Ravio swung his hammer up to his shoulder so he could carry it and looked across the battlefield. Grass and hills surrounded him, the monster bodies quickly fading to nothing.

A war across time and space sounded like an adventure.

This was anything but.

This war across time and space was boring.

Go to battle, bomb and hammer everything, return to camp.

Yes, soldiers were dying. But Ravio didn’t really know them. They didn’t really know him. He was stuck in camp with the other displaced warriors and not a single one of them had perished yet.

(He didn’t know what he would do if one of them did).

The chime of a bell knocked him out of his thoughts. Ravio turned around to see Marin running over.

“Ravio! Are you okay?” she asked, her musical voice carrying across the field.

“Perfectly fine, Mistress Songstress,” he responded with a grin. With a flick of his wrist (and some slight of hand) he had a bomb in his hand. “These monsters are no match for me!”

Marin grinned back as she finally reached him. “That’s good. The Captain took a rough hit and we got worried when you took a while to meet at the rendezvous point.”

“Don’t worry Miss, I’m perfectly capable of running away. Why, it’s my best trait!”

Marin giggled. Her orange-in-the-light hair curtained her face like a warm aura. The flower on her head bounced and seemed to glow as she smiled and reached out for Ravio’s hand.

Ravio took her hand in one of his and used the other to tug his hood further down. He hadn’t allowed people to see his face out of habit and worry for what they might see in his dark hair and hero-like appearance. He let her pull him all the way back to camp as she rattled off the exciting things that had happened during the last battle.

Marin hadn’t slept well the previous night. Her dreams had been filled with memories of her hero. She was trying to smile as she watched people bustle around the camp.

A purple figure appeared in her vision and held out a warm cup.

“Try before you buy?” Ravio said, tittering out a snicker at the end. He often seemed nervous when trying to make a sale. Like his life depended on the rupees from the sale or something.

Marin smiled and took the warm cup from him. She shuffled over and her fixed smile faded.

“Thanks.”

Ravio took the hint and sat down next to her.

“Is there something bothering you, Miss Songstress? I assure you, my coffee is second to none and will chase away any nightmares that haunted you in the night!”

Marin raised an eyebrow at him. “Am I expected to pay for this?”

“First is on the house! Same for if you decide to unburden yourself with whatever nightmare plagued your sleep.”

Marin looked up towards the blue sky. The sky was meant to be the sky but this one was a lighter shade to the one she had known. “Nightmares aren’t the only dreams that can plague one’s sleep.”

Ravio tilted his head in confusion and it made Marin’s heart hurt. It was something her Link had done so many times. She could almost picture his confused little smile and the way his ears would twitch.

“I dreamt about someone I lost. And then I woke up here.”

“But they can be found again, right?” Ravio said softly and Marin suppressed a wince. After her dream the previous night, the bunny merchant’s voice sounded like Link’s to her ears. “The Captain Hero says we’ll be able to go back once this war is over.”

Marin closed her eyes and wondered whether she really should burden the purple merchant. When he said a soft ‘Marin’, she imagined a boy with bold hair and a bright grin.

“Even if I go back, he’s not there.” But she really didn’t plan to go back. The WindFish had granted her wish to see the world beyond her island and she was going to use it.

“Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean to bring up sad memories,” Ravio said in a flustered voice. “Do you want me to leave while you drink the coffee?”

Marin shook her head and took a sip of the drink.

Marin spun and sung. Around her, others danced to her sound or played along. The dings of her bell matched the beat. It was surprising how many of the others were able to play instruments or loved to sing.

Proxi fluttered around her while the Captain chuckled and clapped along. A rare moment when he didn’t have the weight of the war on his shoulders.

Marin twirled Agatha and passed her off to Linkle, the two taking turns to spin each other around like children.

Midna was a good dancer and was giving Zelda tips on how to dance with a partner. It was unfortunate that Midna had pulled Tingle over to be her partner.

Ravio was sitting by the Captain, clapping along and swaying from side to side.

“Come on,” Marin said, holding out for a hand.

“I’m a terrible dancer,” Ravio responded. He had said the same thing to Midna earlier, which led to Tingle being chosen to dance with Zelda.

“I don’t mind.” He grabbed his hand and pulled him up.

Ravio hadn’t lied, his arms moved stiffly and he was slightly off beat as he tried to match Marin.

Tetra laughed at him. “So ya weren’t lying to the princess!”

“Of course not! I can sing but I can’t dance!” Ravio motioned to his robes as if saying ‘look at what I’m wearing’. “How about you worry about yourself and how you still haven’t asked the Maestro over there to join you, despite staring at him constantly?” It was said in jest but Tetra still went red and stomped her foot.

“I haven’t been staring!” she said and then stomped off.

Marin and Ravio shared a look before bursting into laughter.

“You know, your dancing reminds me of someone,” Marin said. For a moment, the people around her became animals and her Link was there, stumbling around and trying to dance with a bunny child. Being able to experience something like that again, it loosened an ache around her heart.

“Oh?”

“Yeah, someone from back home.”

“Ah, your lost someone?”

She nodded. “He couldn’t dance either. Although he tried.”

Ravio laughed. “Reminds me of Mister Hero! I bet he can’t dance because he’s never tried!”

“Mister Hero?”

Ravio froze for a moment before seeming to relax. “Yeah. Mister Hero saved my land. He’s amazing.”

“Was his name Link?” Marin asked. She motioned to the group in green tunics. “They do seem to share that.”

“They do indeed! I never called him that, he was always ‘Mister Hero’ to me. But, that is his name, yes, yes. I keep expecting him to suddenly appear here and start bossing people around.”

Marin thought about her Link. What would it be like if he appeared here? “The Link I know would probably stick by me. Although, he does love exploring.”

Ravio groaned. “He’d be another one! It’s already had enough to keep the young ones from exploring every Keep we come across.”

“Isn’t that what you do?” Marin teased.

Ravio gasped in mock offence. “I’ll have you know, I’m searching for future wares! My exploring is important.”

“Miss Marin, could you sing again?” Proxi asked, flying around the two.

Marin nodded and pulled Ravio along as she started to sing again.

With the smash of his hammer, Ravio knocked out all the enemies around him and cleared the Keep. Soldiers ran in behind him and took up stances to defend it should the enemies return.

There were still some pots that he hadn’t managed to smash. Ravio quickly waddled over to them and knocked them away. Some more rupees for himself.

A bell rang outside and the cries of their enemies rang out.

“Oh!” Marin gasped in surprise as she came into the keep to find it had already been grabbed. “Hi Ravio.”

“Miss Songstress,” Ravio greeted with a bow. “Are you here for a restock? I believe I have some arrows tucked away-”

Marin giggled. “No, no. I’m fine, I don’t use arrows.” She rang her bell as a reminder of her main way of clobbering her enemies.

“Stop flirting you two and get back to the battle!” Midna huffed as she came running through.

Ravio and Marin both jumped back in surprise. Ravio caught Marin’s eyes and immediately looked away. He could feel his face heating up.

They weren’t flirting.

They weren’t.

Without meaning to, Marin’s eyes sought out a purple figure. Ravio was avoiding her. It was surprisingly easy in this camp of displaced people. He could move from person to person, from tent to tent, and never run out of people to peddle his wares to.

“Sorry Miss Marin, he’s already left,” Proxi said for Captain Link. The Link in question rubbed the scarf around his neck.

“Where did he go?” she demanded to know. She was hot and bothered and she just wanted to purchase a coffee! How dare Ravio just run around wherever!

Captain Link pointed to the left.

“That way. I think he was going to see Impa,” Proxi vocalised while Link nodded along.

Marin huffed and started towards Impa’s tent.

“Ravio’s already left,” Impa said the moment she pulled aside the entrance flap.

“How-?”

“You’ve been requesting something from Ravio every day. Each purchase takes hours while you two sit and chat,” Impa reported.

Marin felt her cheeks heat up. Surely not! She wasn’t… she thought back. Yesterday was the coffee (again) and the day before that, she requested a sewing kit and before that it was the tea that was supposed to help people sleep.

She would find him, make her request and they would just start talking. She couldn’t help it! He was easy to talk to and they loved trading stories about their ‘Mr Heroes’.

“You’ll not catch him this way,” Impa mused. “By the time you make it to Agatha's tent, he would have moved on.” She smirked at Marin. “But, you might be able to catch him at Ruto’s tent, if you leave now.”

Marian’s feet moved before she could really think about it. Was she bothering Ravio? No, surely not. There was a lightness to his voice whenever he spoke about his Mr Hero. She was sure that wasn't faked and that he did enjoy the chance to talk about his Mr Hero’s deeds.

She spotted the purple bunny hood bobbing its way out of Ruto’s tent.

“Glad you’re enjoying the ice wand! Please remember that Sheerow will pick it up should you fall in battle!”

“Ravio!”

The bunny jumped and turned to face her.

“M-M-Marin!” he cried out. “I-I wasn’t avoiding you because I needed to get some deliveries done, no, no!”

Marin giggled. How did people think that Ravio was difficult to read. While they couldn’t see his face, he was a terrible liar. In salesperson mode, he truly believed the things he said.

“Have I been taking too much of your time?” she asked.

“N-Not at all! I was hoping to meet up later, actually.” Ravio’s head fell and his fingers twisted together.

Marin was suddenly hit with the image of a similar teenager, almost man, doing the same thing.

Her heart jumped. Was, was she thinking of Ravio like her Link?

Her cheeks went red hot.

“Marin?” Ravio questioned.

“Oh no,” she gasped. “I think I like you.”

“Oh no?” Ravio repeated, flinching back.

“I mean, I still like my Link but I find myself also having feelings for you!” she said, taking his hands so he couldn’t run away. “But I still love him as well!”

Ravio’s hood dropped forward. Quietly, he muttered, “I also find myself having feelings for you.” He looked up, hood still covering his face but mouth visible. “But! I’m also married to my Link!”

“What?” Marin gasped and giggled. “I haven’t heard this story.”

“We are married on paper, so that I can stay in Hyrule as a citizen. Otherwise I might be thrown to the knights as a spy.”

“Do you have feelings for him?”

Ravio paused before nodding. “He’s Mr Hero. My hero! He doesn’t come off as the nicest person but he’ll run himself into the ground in order to make sure we’re all safe.”

“Must be a Link trait,” Marin mused, thinking of her Link. Even the Captain and the other Links in this army were similar.

“What do we do now?” Ravio mused. He looked down, where his hands were connected to Marin’s.

“I don’t know. Maybe see what happens? We’re still caught in this war after all.”

Ravio nodded and brought her hand up to his mouth, giving it a small kiss.

Their confession hadn’t been completely private but most people congratulated Marin on finding a little piece of happiness in this war. Marin sometimes felt sadness when she thought of her Link. It was unlikely that she would find him again, even though she would continue searching after this.

Once the war was over, she found herself staring out the castle window and contemplating what to do next. This castle alone contained so many new things that she hadn’t experienced before.

Ravio had been her dance partner for the celebratory ball that had been held. He had refused to wear anything but his usual fit, causing a bit of a riot in the castle.

“If I can fight in this, I can dance in it!” he had proclaimed.

"But you can't dance," various people had said back. Ravio wore the usual outfit anyway but still walked Marin around the dance floor, not letting her miss out on the fun just because her partner had no sense of rhythm.

They didn't remain among the crowds for long. Marin preferred less crowded areas and Ravio wanted to hover over the food.

“Marin,” Lana gasped as she came down the hallway. “I’ve been looking for you.”

Marin smiled softly at her. “Lana.”

“Um, I’ve noticed that you and Ravio have been getting closer and I was wondering if you were going to head back with him?”

“I was considering it, yes. Is it going to be a problem?” Marin had been brought here by the Wind Fish, not by the same chaotic energies that brought the others. However, the chaotic energies had made it easier for the Wind Fish to drop her here.

Lana shook her head, blue ponytails flying around. “Of course not! I’m good at my job!” She grinned. “I was hoping you would actually, I feel like it’d be good for you.”

“Is this because Ravio is a new love after my first disappeared?” Marin asked directly. It had not been the first time someone had hinted at that.

Lana shook her head again. “Of course not! Although it is lovely to see two hearts connected in this chaos. Especially since it doesn’t seem like anyone caught Link’s heart,” she sighed.

Marin figured that this world’s Link had been too busy to worry about romance. She and Ravio hadn’t been involved in the planning but that boy had been at the head of almost all of it.

“Anyway, Ravio plans to leave tomorrow morning! Come to the throne room tomorrow morning, at first light, to catch a lift.”

That soon? Marin hadn’t even fully made up her mind!

But, Ravio was here and about to not be. Her Link wasn’t here and wouldn’t be.

There would be new experiences in Ravio’s land. And maybe she would get along with his Mr Hero?

Ravio had not expected Marin to be there when he returned. However, she had taken his hand through the portal without being asked.

She had marvelled at the apple trees.

She became friend to the bees.

She gossiped with the townspeople and entranced them with her songs.

Ravio knew he was in deep. Just as deep as he was for Mr Hero.

Love was something to bring him pain, he was certain of it. But he was too cowardly to let them go.

When they entered Legend’s house and were greeted by his roommate, Warriors knew that trouble was brewing.

He knew Ravio. Ravio, who had taken a girlfriend back from the war. Who was currently arguing with Legend like they were an old married couple.

“I’m going to check on the orchard, don’t touch anything Ravio doesn’t approve!” Legend huffed as he stormed outside.

“Um, Ravio?” Warriors said quietly.

Ravio seemed to shake himself out of whatever he was thinking and turned to Warriors with a grin. “Yes, Mr Captain of the Knights?”

Warriors winced, even though it was the confirmation he had been looking for.

“What happened with Marin?” Was the Vet going to have to deal with having another unasked for roommate in his house?

“She’s-” Ravio paused. “She’s outside with the bees!” He scrambled for the exit. “Mr travelling Heroes, please don’t touch anything! I need to introduce Mr Hero to Ms Songstress-”

“To who?” Sky question but Ravio was gone.

“Ms Songstress… wasn’t that Marin?” Wind questioned, looking at Warriors.

“Wasn’t she ‘Miss Songstress’? Why’d he change it?” Time mused.

“You two know her?” Four questioned.

“They were in the war as well,” Warriors said.

“I wonder if this means we’ll find her Link?” Wind questioned, grinning.

“Miss Songstress was searching for her Link. He might be in this group,” Time mused, looking over those gathered.

“I don’t know a Marin or Miss Songstress,” Four quickly said.

“Same here,” Twilight added.

Four shook his head. “No idea who she is.”

Hyrule had a hand on his chin and a far off gaze.

“Hyrule?” Warriors asked, curiously.

“Ah,” Hyrule realised where he had heard the name. “I’ve heard of her but she’s not someone I’ve personally met.” The cursed princess had mentioned the name a few times.

“Maybe her Link still has to join us?” Twilight said, although he didn’t sound like he believed it.

Legend looked around the orchard as he made his way to the beehives. They would be the first thing he would look at as he knew Ravio was scared of them.

A soft voice could be heard in the distance. Something about it was familiar. Legend’s pace quickened. Who had intruded here?

He came to a stop.

“Marin?” his mouth said before his brain could catch up. She was moving around the bees and checking hive after hive, only stopping when he called her name again.

She stopped and stared. Did she not recognise him?

He knew it, he had changed too much, become too bitter-

“Link?”

He blinked away tears and pinched his arm. It hurt but so had other injuries in the dream.

“You’re real?” he questioned as she came over.

“And you?” she asked right back. “How are you here? Ravio did mention that his Mr Hero was travelling with other heroes, are you in their group?”

“Wait? Ravio?” Ravio didn’t know about Marin.

“Mr Hero! Please don’t hurt Ms Songtress!” Ravio came bursting over, leaves and twings in his hood. He pulled them out as he cried. “I invited her to stay here after the War in the other time!”

“Warriors’ war?”

“Mr Hero?”

Legend and Marin looked at each other, realising that they both were living in this time.

“Link! Y-You’re Ravio’s-” Marin stumbled, not sure which sentence she wanted to finish first.

“Wait,” Ravio huffed, catching up. “Marin, is Mr Hero-”

“He’s my Link,” she said boldly. Even though she knew it hurt Ravio and seeing Ravio hurt, hurt her. The way he seemed to shrink in on himself.

“O-Oh. I’ll leave you alone then.”

Legend grabbed Ravio’s arm. “No, you don’t. You’re part of this conversation.” He frowned. “You and Marin met during the war, then what?” He looked between the two of them.

“When the war was over, Ravio invited me to come live with him and his… husband.”

Link glared at Ravio. “You told her we’re married?”

“Yes, of course! I was inviting her to stay with us and so, she needed to know what was going on. I told her it was for tax purposes!”

“He did,” Marin agreed with a nod. She looked down at where Legend had grabbed her wrist as well. As if he couldn’t let go of either of them, as if they would disappear if he did.

“Marin, I still love you!” Legend insisted, tugging her closer. “However, you were gone and Ravio was here and-” he cut himself off, eyes widening and face going pink. Ravio has slowly worked his way into Legend’s life. Into his heart. He hadn’t minded marrying the man, not because he hadn’t thought he would marry for love after Marin but, because he had fallen in love with Ravio as well.

“And?” Ravio said quietly after a moment.

“And?” she prompted.

Legend’s heart was full and breaking at the same time. He loved them both but he couldn’t have them both. He would have to hurt one but he didn’t know who.

“I’m sorry, Link,” Ravio said, his voice breathless. Marin would bet he was also crying. “I never thought-”

“I promised her,” Legend whined, leaning against Ravio, tears running down his face.

Marin frowned. She was right here. “And I promised you.” She stepped closer. Better to pull the bandaid off now, as Impa used to say. “And I still fell in love with Ravio.”

Legend froze, stiffening so suddenly that they worried he was turning to a statue.

“I love you both,” Marin said softly, admitting the painful feeling in her heart. “I don’t think I could choose.”

“Same!” Ravio wailed. “I don’t want to choose.”

After a moment, Legend let go of their arms. “What if you didn’t have to choose?” he asked, rubbing at his eyes to dry them.

Did he mean just remaining like this? Marin wondered.

“What do you mean?” Ravio questioned. “You can only marry one person legally in Hyrule.”

Legend frowned, arms wrapping around himself. “There’s one person who that law doesn’t apply to.”

“What do you mean?” Marin questioned. “We could just continue to live like this? I want to know you again, Link.”

“And I, you. But there is a way for us to all be married.”

“What?” Ravio questioned. His hood was slipping up, revealing more of his face. Both Legend and Marin knew it meant he was feeling lighter.

Legend took a deep breath and explained.

“Thank you all for waiting!” Ravio announced to the heroes as he dramatically re-entered the kitchen.

“Is everything alright?” Warriors asked.

There was a light giggle. “Everything is alright, you worrywart,” Marin said, appearing from behind Ravio. “Although, Link has gone to Castletown.”

“Legend has?”

“Why?” Time questioned.

“He needs to talk to her highness,” Ravio said with a nod.

“He went to see Princess Zelda?” Warriors questioned. “After he told us not to go near the castle?”

“He went alone?” Time added.

Ravio nodded. “If he’s not back by tomorrow morning, I’ll go after him.”

“And me!” Marin added with a smile.

Warriors felt a chill down his back. He recalled the damage those two had managed during the war.

“That’s fine.”

“Seriously?” Wild questioned in shock. “That’s it? Man, I get a lecture if I go alone.”

“The Vet can take care of himself,” Twilight said. “And he can read a map.”

“I can read a map.” Wild held up his slate.

“In your world. Not this one and the many others you try to go off and explore.”

“Boo.”

Morning came. Ravio and Wild were preparing breakfast in the kitchen while Warriors was pacing around the room.

Marin walked into the kitchen, carrying a basket of apples.

“You should sit down, Captain.”

“He’s not back yet.”

“He’s perfectly fine,” Ravio responded.

“I think the pancake is ready to flip,” Wild mused, poking the bubbling batter in the pan.

“No one is worrying more than you right now,” Marin pointed out, right as there was a knock on the door.

“I’ll get it!” Wind cried out, suddenly appearing in the room. He opened the door to a blond woman in a cloak, who looked at him and then pushed her way in. “Hey!”

“Zelda?” Ravio dropped his utensil, batter splattering on the ground.

Marin jumped to her feet as Zelda stared at her and quickly closed the gap between them. Marin just had enough time to process that this was the person Link had mistaken her when they first met before she had been grabbed in a hug.

“It’s so wonderful to meet you!” Zelda cried out happily. She released one arm’s grip on Marin to wave to Ravio. “And you, Ravio, you wonderful, marvelous person!”

Ravio stepped back a bit, uncomfortable with the sudden expression of positive emotion.

“What’s going on?” Wind demanded to know.

Zelda wiped a tear from her eye. “I can’t believe the day has finally come.”

The slamming of feet proceeded Legend’s arrival, a large woman behind him.

“Zelda!” he panted. “Leave them alone!”

“Absolutely not!” Zelda countered, hands going to her hips. “They are to be my siblings-in-law and the left and right hand of the king.” She grinned at Marin. “We’re going to spend a lot of time together. I’ve already arranged for lecturers in dance and the inner workings of the court.” Zelda turned to Ravio and he flinched. “And you! Lectures on the current state of Hyrule. If you’re going to be adviser to our King, you’re going to need to know the ins and outs of running a country. Thankfully, after that whole thing with Hilda, I at least know you’re a good adviser who knows when to put their country before their ruler.”

Ravio pulled his hood down over his face, embarrassed.

Legend groaned. “Zelda, calm down.”

“Never! You’ve finally accepted your birthright!” Zelda clapped her hands together with a wide grin. “I’ve been planning for this.”

A large hand was placed on Legend’s shoulder, engulfing it. “You know what she is like.”

“I know, Impa,” Legend sighed.

“Link tried to warn us but, you’re really excited for this,” Marin said softly.

“Of course! Once this journey is over and you’re all married and in charge, I’ll be the one to travel to other countries and explore.”

“And my Zelda was worried she didn’t live up to the standard of ruler set before her,” Wild commented, Legend’s Zelda reminding him of his own right now.

“I’ll only be in charge until the wedding,” Zelda said.

Twilight raised a hand. “Um, what wedding?”

Legend looked to Marin, Marin looked to Ravio and Ravio looked at the ground. Zelda grinned.

“Can you not just go back to the castle and, I don’t know, plan the wedding or something?” Legend huffed.

“Why, companions of my brother-”

“Her brother?” Wind questioned. Wild shrugged.

“-It’s simple. Link has finally signed the paperwork that indicates his intention of taking the crown upon his next life milestone. As he’s already of age, it’ll be his marriage to the songstress Marin and recommitment to the merchant Ravio, that will also be his coronation.”

Legend placed his face in his hands and groaned as the other Links all stared at him.

“Wait, brother, Vet, what?” Warriors’ brain was the quickest to put it together and the quickest to break under the new information.

“You’re going to be the King of Hyrule?” Wind cheered.

“I didn’t want to be!”

“Why now then?” Twilight asked.

Legend’s face went red and he mumbled something.

“What was that?” Wind asked Twilight.

“He said that only the king can be bonded to more than one life partner. Something about keeping the crown in the direct bloodline of the goddess if there’s more chances of children.”

“That’s stupid.”

“Yeah, I’m going to change that when I’m king,” Legend sighed. “But for now, my best option is to take over the crown.”

Marin smiled at him. Legend had explained a lot to them before running off to tell Zelda the news.

“You’re royalty?” Warriors questioned, a little louder than necessary.

Legend shrugged.

“First born, but since the first born is meant to be a daughter, he was passed off to our grandparents,” Zelda said, “they run a farm on the other side of Hyrule. And as the hero, he can reclaim the throne without incident.” Zelda grinned at Sky. “Especially since the first King of Hyrule is said to be a hero as well.”

Sky flushed, rubbing his neck as he thought about marrying Zelda and their future children. Then he froze.

“Wait.” He turned to Legend. “Are we-”

“Related?” Legend scowled. “Yeah, distantly.”

Sky threw his arms open. Legend stepped back, bumping into Impa who returned Sky’s hug, squishing him in the middle.

“No offence, but you two are not the two I want to be stuck between.”

“Aw,” Ravio cooed. He turned to Marin. “He loves us.”

Marin grinned and giggled. “How could he not?”

“Obviously!” Legend cried out, pushing his way out of the hug. He moved across the room and took Zelda’s arm. “Now, loving sister, please get out of my house.”

“How rude,” Zelda huffed, sticking her tongue out at him. “Ravio, have Sheerow send word when the Links leave and I’ll arrange for you and Marin to stay with me for a bit.”

“Will do!” Ravio said with a wave. Impa helped guide the princess out of the house and Legend didn’t move from the door until they were no longer visible on the path.

There was silence for a few moments after Legend closed his front door.

“I know you warned us but your sister really wanted you to take her place as ruler?” Ravio mused. “Intensely.”

“Yeah,” Legend groaned.

“I think it’s sweet,” Marin said happily. “And I don’t mind learning to be a queen.”

“Royal adviser was meant to be my official role in Lorule,” Ravio mused. He grinned at Marin. “I will make sure no one takes advantage of you, Ms Songstress.”

It was similar to what they had said to Legend when he told them of his plan.

The soft smile on his face vanished as there were two clicks - a mechanical one and a beeping one.

“Aw, Vet, you do have feelings,” Warriors said with a smirk from behind Wind. Wind was holding pictograph.

“Don’t tease,” Twilight said to Warriors, while standing next to Wild, who had his slate out and up. “I’m glad he’s found people that make him happy.”

“Can I ask for a copy, little pirate?” Marin said to Wind. Wind was happy to give her one.

Legend hoped the ground would swallow him up, but instead Ravio pulled Marin over and slung an arm around him.

“We’re going to rule this country! Together!” he announced, causing Legend to laugh.
