Work Text:
You sighed as you glanced around the various shops of the bazaar. Getting out had been difficult, but you were nothing if not capable of away the Gerudo chief on something. Hylians glanced at you strangely as you walked the oasis in attire more common among the Gerudo. You were desperate to get a gift for Ganondorf that was as nice as what he gave to you.
Secretly, you had been working various odd jobs around the settlement for funds. Many were kind enough to remain silent when you mentioned your intentions behind the actions. It was even thanks to a kind guard that you were allowed to visit the bazaar. The merchant shook her head at your clear disappointment. “I haven't a clue what he might like myself,” she tapped her lips, “Maybe a blade? But that would be easier to obtain back with the city, no?” You nodded.
Of course, weaponry would be a gift he would no doubt enjoy. Something less plain was desire, though. Your attention went to the merchants of other creeds. Mostly Hylian men, likely partially wanting a wife, but a single Zora and two Gorons left you shocked. Approaching one that seemed to specialise in objects that would entice men, you watched him eye you down curiously.
Asking to see his wares, he allowed you a glance. There was cologne… You supposed it might not be a bad choice. Some watches. That could be something he would enjoy… Though, he may also claim that it was more meaningless. Leather wallets. You could probably snag one of those back in the town for a better price.
As you smelled the cologne, the merchant cleared his throat.
“Are you attempting to join the Gerudo or something?” he asked, raising a brow. You blinked, returning the perfume to him. Usually, it was a question about what was wrong with traditional Hylian clothes. A nearby Gerudo glared him down. Really, you were not attempting anything. You already long had. Bring married to their chief certainly allowed you an honorary status.
“I think you're overdoing it,” he noted, gazing at the long head veil and golden jewellery that decorated you. A hand reached to pull off your forehead ornament. The guard stepped in. Her glaive stopping his hand. He blinked. “… or not,” he seemed to visibly tense up, “Are you two like… together?” The guard's frustration made you reach a hand out for her shoulder to calm her. She stood up to her full height and herded you away from him.
With that, you decided the trip to be over and inconclusive.

The return to the town was met with mild excitement by those curious about the goings-on. Sadly, there was nothing to report. You continued on towards the palace, mostly exhausted from the travel back due to a sudden influx of monsters. The guard followed you back, wishing to inform Ganondorf of them. You wandered off as she began her report, seeking a bath from all the sand.
The garments that you wore were shed away as you crawled into the private bath of the chief's chamber. It was warm, but not unpleasant as the evening chill set in. You scrubbed away the sweaty skin. Completely preoccupied, you missed the entrance of the chief himself. His sudden position beside you, bare to the world, left you shocked.
His built form, more like that of which sculptors would spend years wish to create in marble, held your attention. Red body hair spread across his flesh while golden eyes observed you. “Allow me to aid you,” he retrieved the loofah from you and began to scrub at your back. Relaxing under his touch, you felt yourself at peace. He soaked it in water to rinse away the suds. Then, he pulled you into himself.
“A Hylian voe attempted to snatch something I gifted you,” his voice was low. You sighed. Of course, the guard would tell him about that. Gazing up at him, you confirmed it. His brows furrowed. A huff came from him. A mumble about execution made you turn around and pout at him. There was no need for such drastic measures. He moved over you in the water. A few flowers that had been added swayed away.
“… Why did you even approach him?” His large frame hovering over you made your breath hitch. The surprise was not something you wished to ruin. He would be unsatisfied with any answer… You knew there was a strange feeling he held towards other men. Perhaps due to never having been around any until he was far older in life. His eyes narrowed. You teared up. A sigh came from him. “It must have been important…” He noted and allowed you some space. Though, you moved near him, leaning against him. His arm wrapped around your shoulder.
“I forbid you from going to the bazaar without me,” he glanced down at you.
You wanted to bang your head.

In the end, you gave in and had a custom-made sword forged for him. An emblem of your favourite flower from your home was engraved at the hilt.
He held it with pride.
