Work Text:
Words were swirling together in Danny's brain, he'd been working on this article for hours without break. His usually neat handwriting had turned near illegible, but he refused to pause his work. 2am beeped on his analogue clock, drawing his attention away from his paper. Danny rubbed his dry eyes, coffee could only stave off his exhaustion so long. His deadline wasn't urgent, but he was forcing himself to complete his article by the end of the week.
The grip on his pen became tighter, something to draw his mind towards. He couldn't fall asleep now, not now, he just had one more paragraph to write. Just one more, then he could sleep. Through the window, lights shone through the curtains to reveal a car pulling into the driveway. Ji-Woon was back already? Danny straightened out his back out of it's shrimp-like state to seem more presentable. Jingling of keys soon sounded and the idol unlocked the front door, entering the house while adorned with blood.
Ji-Woon immediately noticed Danny still on the couch, along with the tired expression that painted his face.
"You are still awake? Do you not have work tomorrow?" Ji-Woon removed his shoes at the door, he wouldn't dare dirty it, and slipped the house keys into his front pocket. "It's not good to stay up late, Danny, when you need to drink so much coffee."
He heard a scoff from the other man and Ji-Woon rolled his eyes, Danny had such bad habits regarding his own wellbeing, but he loved Danny. No one could be as perfect as him, but Danny was the closest he'd get. He passed by the grumpy journalist and ruffled his already messy hair, earning a glare in return. Cute.
Ji-Woon made his way into the bathroom, rinsing off the evidence of his nighttime crimes and slipped into some silky robes. Ones that showed a generous amount of his chest, of course, and went to sit beside Danny.
Now that his boyfriend was home, how could Danny focus? His perfume was an intoxicating scent of coconut and vanilla, with a subtle iron, no doubt from the blood. The last thing he could be described as would be "ignorable", always drawing attention to himself. Not to mention Ji-Woon often smothered Danny in affection when in a good mood, leaving him smelling just like him.
"You look so tired, you should sleep."
"I can't, I... Need to finish this.."
A long yawn escaping his lips only made it more obvious that he had been neglecting sleep.
"Finish in the morning. I can't read your English anymore, neither will you later."
"Stop worrying about me, I'll go to bed soon."
A huff came from Ji-Woon. Why was Danny like this? There was no use in pushing himself, yet he did anyway.
"Jaigya, you will go to bed with me. "
Danny rolled his eyes, but eventually fell back against Ji-Woon. He forced Ji-Woon to shuffle until his back was against the armrest, just to accommodate them both. His glasses were removed and placed on the table, on top of his precious writing.
His eyes felt so heavy, he needed to sleep. Danny rolled over onto his stomach, wrapped his arms around Ji-Woon and nestled his face into his chest. So soft... Soft despite the workouts he did to keep himself fit and flexible for his performances, a perfect pillow. Quiet noises soon indicated to Ji-Woon that the stalker had fallen asleep, his breathing now deep and slow.
"So ungrateful... Didn't even say goodnight to me."
Despite his words, Ji-Woon stroked his head tenderly until he heard soft snoring. It was cute, and even calming to listen to. Almost akin to having a cat rest his lap, he couldn't leave without the risk of waking Danny up, unfortunately leaving him trapped on the couch.
He sighed, but made himself comfortable, it wasn't worth the effort of making him fall asleep again. Somehow, he always found a way to irritate him. Somehow, he liked it.
"I love you, Danny."
