Work Text:
Rin ran a hand through her hair and smoothed it again out as she looked at herself in the mirror.
She's dreamed of this day and it finally came. Today was the happiest day of her life. Her in her gorgeous wedding dress, with the love of her life as the groom… and now sitting in bed, she's about to become a woman for the first time.
Right?
Isn't that how it's supposed to go?
She knows she loves Toriko. She definitely knows she's attracted to him physically. And she wouldn't have married him if she wasn't willing to give her life to him. With that in mind, it doesn't make any sense. Why is it now, when she's about to lose her virginity, that she feels nervous? That she's getting cold feet?
For the first time, maybe ever in her life, a part of her hopes that Toriko wouldn't come through the door. But well… Of course it has to open at some point.
"Whew! What a wedding!" Toriko exclaimed. "I spent hours saying my goodbyes to everyone who came. Komatsu really wouldn't stop crying. I thought he was gonna dehydrate or something."
Rin smiled at him. He didn't have to but he still went out of his way to greet and bid farewell to every single guest. "I was kinda surprised!" Rin comments. "Cause you really know a lot of people, don't you Toriko? How'd you meet Legman?"
"Ah, you met Legman?!" Toriko lights up. "That one's kind of a long story but I'll tell you one day."
Toriko sat next to her on the bed and for a moment, they share an uneasy silence. Antsy, Toriko starts looking around their hotel and picks something up from their nightstand. "Could you believe they make flavors for this?" Toriko asks. Rin looks up to see that he's holding a gourmet condom wrapper. "I had no idea!" He rambles. "Like apparently, they make them in chocolate or strawberry."
"Say, uh, Toriko." Rin asks. Damn it, she'll rip this band-aid off. Might as well air it out in the open. "Did you uh, like, expect that you were gonna do it with me tonight?"
"I… well- " Toriko stammers. "Jeez, I mean, that's what people do when they get married right? On their wedding night? I mean, I'm not gonna-" He suddenly cuts himself off from saying something.
"You're not gonna what?" Rin presses.
He looks at his feet for a moment and exhales hard. Then, turning to Rin - his wife - he meets her gaze squarely. "I'm not gonna disappoint you."
And really, Rin could've laughed at that. She's been wondering tonight what the future's gonna look like. She's not sure another day would ever come where she'd be this happy. "I never felt disappointed, not by you." She scoots a bit closer to him and caresses his cheek with her hand.
Toriko chuckles, leaning into her touch. "Heh. Yeah well, I don't wanna start all right? Seriously, I mean it Rin. I'd do anything for you-"
She interrupts his train of thought by kissing him, a gesture that Toriko quickly returns. Aside from when they took their vows, how long has it been since they last kissed each other? When they got the jewel meat? In any case, as soon as she kissed him, Rin realized how much she craved him, how much she missed this.
"The way I see it, I guess it's only natural for us to be nervous about this if it's our first time," she explains, in-between kisses. She feels herself heating up with each kiss. "So… that just means we have to do everything from step one before we do that, y'know?"
"Really?" Toriko asks, breathless. "So what'd you have in mind?"
"Didn't you say you were curious about the edible part of my dress before?"
He smirks. "Well that's not really a step one, but yes, I was wondering about that."
"It's the bow in front." Rin explains. "If you undo it, the entire dress comes apart."
"Wait, what?!" Toriko suddenly goes wide-eyed. "So… wait a minute! That means if you had a wardrobe malfunction during the wedding, everyone would've seen you naked!"
"I never would've had an accident like that on my big day!" Rin pouts. "And besides! Even if I did, you would've saved me." She declares with the utmost confidence. Toriko actually isn't as confident to be honest, but he decided Rin doesn't need to know that.
"I… I guess I could've used a tablecloth or something to cover you up..." He muses lost in thought. Distracted...
"Toriko!" Rin shouts to get him back on track. "The bow! With your teeth!"
"Huh? Oh, sorry I - with my teeth?!"
"Yes! Rip it off with your teeth, please." Rin giggled, flirtatiously. Apparently all her nerves are gone.
Toriko shrugged. His nerves are gone too - whatever his woman wants, his woman gets. Without warning (he figured she'd like it better rougher), he did exactly that and the whole dress came off.
The bow melted in his mouth and tasted like high quality vanilla macaroons.
