Chapter Text

The sun was starting to set, the streets and forests starting to lack light as the night darkness started to be present. This was usually the sign that every cookie should stay indoors and lock the doors and sprinkle mustard seeds on their rooftops, to prevent any creatures from coming into their houses. Those creatures, mainly being vampires.

Vampires are creatures that cookies consider dangerous, as they can drink your jam, and can turn you into one of those disgusting creatures. That’s what every cookie thought about them. They serve no purpose other than danger towards cookies. And this was why they must be killed without hesitation. This is why vampire hunting is a very important duty.

“Is it time already? Are we gonna go hunting now??” An excited and energetic blue cookie spoke, walking around a taller green archer. Blue Slushy Cookie, a still young hunter who just started learning about vampire hunting around two years ago. It was an important job, though also risky. “The sun is setting. We should get ready now…” The green archer spoke. Wind Hunter Cookie, a veteran vampire hunter, probably the most experienced within the continent.

“I’ll go tell the others! I wanna know where we are going today!” The shorter cookie flapped her wing arms, doing little jumps before running up the stairs of the house, informing the other cookies within the house. Wind Hunter hummed, preparing all the essential materials for hunting. Mostly silver equipment, stakes, garlic, and their bow and arrows.

Wind Hunter wasn’t a fan of how other vampire hunters go to their hunting raids. They usually shoot everywhere with their guns, and hope they hit a vampire. It was dumb and inefficient. He and his siblings preferred to be stealthy, scare the vampires away and only resort to violence as a last resort. It seemed to be more efficient in some strange way. Sugar Swan convinced Wind Hunter that this was the best method— And she was right, but not many cookies believed it.

It’s truly a mystery of how she knows this was the best option. Some people think she has secret relationships with those beasts, but it’s all dumb theories that the legendary green hunter would refuse to believe. There was no possibility that his mother interacted with those creatures.

After a few minutes of preparing, Blue Slushy and other two cookies walked down the stairs, looking prepared to go out. The shortest girl was walking down the stairs very quickly, almost tripping over and falling down the stairs.

“Blue Slushy please, calm down. We did this so many times now” The red feathered cookie spoke with a stern tone, grabbing his signature crossbow as he started to leave the house with the other cookies. Red Panna Cotta Cookie (Or “Cotta” for close friends) was the most serious cookie of the four. He were experimented in hunting, but not as much as Wind Hunter.

“At least she makes it somewhat entertaining, you make it boring.” A yellow and strong cookie teased Red Panna Cotta. Gold Honey Cake Cookie, the strongest (and dumbest) of the four. If anyone needed help with something strength related, this guy is the most ideal. The yellow bird tends to tease the red bird quite a lot.

“Excuse me?? Witches forbid someone takes his job seriously” The red bird replied, only earning a chuckle from the yellow bird. "Oh, come on! Have some little fun in you, eh? You are always so damn serious" He spoke, unamused by the annoyance of his brother. He would then wave at his oldest brother and little sister, doing some quick stretches before getting prepared for the hunt

“Remain calm and silent.” Wind Hunter sighed, knowing his younger siblings often fought, but they never crossed any boundaries. He supposed it was typical sibling behaviour. "You two act like you are younger than me everytime you argue" She giggled, as she reached to grab her own bow, following her oldest brother right behind him. She could hear how Gold Honey Cake wanted to protest about her words, but went silent, probably not wanting to bother Wind Hunter with his stupidity anymore. At least for now.

They were slowly entering the forest, as some cookies reported the presence of vampires over a specific area. Silence was needed now, any alerting sound could either scare the vampires off or make them prepared for a fight. And it was best to catch them off guard. Gold Honey Cake sometimes complains that it is a cowardly move to do, but it’s better than risking becoming one of them.

They all looked around, but it seemed like there were little to no signs that vampires were here in the first place. Night slowly arrived, and it got a bit hard to see like usual, but they should be used to it at this point. Blue Slushy kept running around, always getting ahead of her brothers because of how energetic she usually is.

“Slushy, slow down.. We must stay together…” The oldest bird reminded the youngest one, watching how she started to run around. "Yeah! Gotta stick together, like a pineapple!" Gold Honey Cake spoke loud enough so Blue Slushy could hear him. He rolled his eyes as he saw how Blue Slushy kept running around.

The yellow bird then would look at the red bird, suddenly wrapping one arm around his shoulders, something he sometimes does randomly with everyone. "But oh well! Y'know how energetic Blue Slushy can be. She's young, let her run around and have fun. The sun is not fully gone yet, so we should be fine" His eyes moved towards the oldest one, making sure he was listening to him

Wind Hunter considered the yellow bird words with a nod. Maybe he was just stressed due to the upcoming hunt. “I suppose you are right…” Meanwhile, Red Panna Cotta noticed how the stronger bird wrapped his arm around him, and decided to push him away lightly with a look. Gold Honey Cake noticed how his brother pushed him away, earning a light laugh from the stronger one "Not in the mood, eh? Well, you never are in the mood, I guess" The yellow bird shrugged, placing his hands on the back of his own head and acted like it wasn't a big deal.

The red bird huffed in annoyance and crossed his arms. “Keep your greasy hands to yourself.” He grumbled as they walked, following the oldest and youngest. "Hey! I washed them before we got out, you know? You are sooo rude to me..." The yellow bird tried to act like he was offended by his words, but in reality he didn't really mind if he thought they were greasy. Or maybe they were greasy. He shrugged, paying more attention to their path.

“I’m not being rude—” Red Panna Cotta scoffed. “—I’m just being honest.” he spoke as he placed one hand on his hip. He always had a hard time dropping things. ”Will you two quit it?” Wind hunter barked at the two. Shutting them up for a little as they continued on the path of the forest. "I just ignore them at this point. One day they might learn to not argue for five minutes!" Blue Slushy giggled.

The yellow bird grumbled, rolling his eyes as he was a bit annoyed. "Maybe if this guy over here—" He pointed at Cotta with his thumb "—stops being so damn serious all the time, I might quit it" He hummed, looking at the red bird with his stupid smile, still pointing at him.

”I'm not—!!”

Red Panna Cotta huffed clenching his fist in anger and clicking his tongue in annoyance. “I’m just not immature like you!” "I can be very mature if I want to, I just choose to have fun. I wouldn't be surprised if cookies didn't invite you to their party. You are always ruining the fun " gold Honey Cake barked back at him as he shrugged, but he noticed the anger of his brother and decided to maybe not keep pushing any further for now. He sighed, "But eh, you are still my brother. You know I love you, even if you are a partypooper." He mumbled, not really wanting to admit it

Red Panna Cotta scowled with a huff. Crossing his arms before turning away. Yeah he loved his brother and siblings too but he wouldn't be caught dead saying that out loud “I don't ruin fun.. I just- ugh! Shut up..” The red bird huffed “I have priorities! You wouldn’t know that because all you do is slack off”

"I don't slack off all the time, you know? I get some stuff done." The strong bird got a little defensive, but tried his best to not make things escalate any further, though it wasn’t really working. "I just like to relax in my free time. Meanwhile, you are always up to do something instead of taking a goddamn break."

He sighed, and decided to try to stop his argument with Cotta. It was dumb, but somewhat funny for him. ”Do you always have free time? ‘Cause from the looks of it, you do nothing around the village, me and Wind always have to pick up after your slack” The red bird said, his wings flapping to emphasize his words. Wind Hunter shot him a look to not involve him in the banter but Red Panna Cotta shook it off.

This was slowly becoming an argument. And Wind Hunter hated that.

"Not my fault you guys already finish my stuff when I'm about to go do it! I don't complain about it though" Gold Honey Cake giggled that one last part, subconsciously moving his hand to the shoulder of the red bird. "Besides, sometimes I don't even get a clear indication of what I have to do, so I guess I don't do it cuz I have no idea what to do, y'know?" The strong bird tried to excuse himself.

Red Panna Cotta scoffed. ”Excuses, excuses! That's all you can ever make. Really, it's sad how you depend on us so much that you don’t even know what you're supposed to be doing half the time” The red bird shot back. Smacking the other's hand away before it touched his shoulder almost impulsively.

That seemed to be the final straw for Gold Honey Cake. He started to get actually upset, as he stopped walking to focus on the argument. He wasn't going to let him win this. "For your information, I can perfectly survive without any of you guys!" The yellow bird barked back, keeping his eyes locked on Cotta. Red Panna Cotta raised a brow with a mocking smile almost. A hand on his hip as if looking down at him

“Really? I severely doubt that! You couldn't last ten minutes without running to Wind for help” He said, slowly placing a finger to the other's chest. There was a lot of tension, and it seemed to be enough for the oldest one. “Let’s just… calm down now” He attempted to get in between his two other brothers, but they ignored his request. "Nah, I'm not calming down. He's being a bitch to me for no real reason!" The yellow bird grumbled, slapping his hand as he turned around.

"Fuck you, I'm out" He spoke before starting to run away, probably wanting some time alone. Blue Slushy yelped, "Gold Honey— you dumbass! Get back here!" She quickly started following the yellow bird, trying to keep up with his pace, as they unintentionally started to get deeper and lost within the forest. Red Panna Cotta felt a pang of victory at the argument but it came to an abrupt halt as the younger blue bird ran after the other. He facepalmed with a sigh “Well don’t just go running off-!!” The red bird spoke loudly, trying to follow the other two.

And before Wind Hunter could process everything that was going on, his siblings were gone. “Oh for the love of— You three! Get back here!

Wind Hunter hated being alone. But he couldn’t let his younger siblings know that. He was supposed to be a role model, to be strong. Wind Hunter ran through the forest trying to find his lost siblings. The more he walked the more the moon rose. It was dark and the hunter could barely see. What if something happened to them and he wasn’t there to help? What if something happened to his siblings? Thoughts swirled through his anxiety ridden mind as he called out to the three

“Slushy!!!!… Cotta???.. Honey?!”

He called out to the three only to be met with silence in the dark forest. Well.. isn’t that just great??? He thought to himself. He was starting to shake slightly. This wasn’t great. He just hoped this would be over soon. Wind Hunter started to get lost in his thoughts as he was paying extra attention to every sound or moving bushes. He had to admit, he was always worried for his younger siblings, they were still quite young compared to him, and losing them…

He shakes his head, realising he didn’t recognise any of these trees, or paths, or wherever the hell he was.

He was lost. He wandered a bit until he heard two voices. Immediately, he ducked behind some bushes as he peaked out to see who was talking. It wasn’t his siblings, he knew that for a fact. Sweet witches, he was tense.

Wind Hunter tilted his head, silently approaching this light source. He hid behind some bushes, seeing that the light source was a cookie with fire as their head. They were also floating, could it be a vampire…? They were with a younger purple cookie.

It was a flame, floating in front of what seemed to be a crying kid. It was very unusual to see cookies that aren't hunters in the forests at these hours. And cookies didn't normally float...

"Now now... You lost your plushie, hm?" The fiery asked the crying child, offering his hand for the kid to hold. "Let's see if we can find it then, we mustn't be here for long." His voice showed confidence, but also genuine care. The child sniffled with a sob. Rubbing her cheeks with her torn white sleeve. Taking the older man's hand with another shaky sob

“I need to find him…-!” She shuttered as the other floated around looking for the raggedy doll. “I- I can't just lose it…” Wind Hunter heard the child’s voice, and quickly came to the conclusion that these two were vampires due to the literal floating flame man. He silently aimed his bow even though his hands were shaky.

He faltered as he realized the small one was in fact a child.

He— He couldn’t kill a kid. Vampire or not, that's just cruel and goes against almost everything he stood for. He silently waited for the small one to leave. He’ll just kill the fire one… make it quick

Wind Hunter sighed. The little one held the hand of the older one, floating around. The flame tried to not make the child more afraid of what she already was. He hoped his natural warmth could help her feel safer, or at least more calm.

"Now... Where was the last time you saw your plushie? Maybe it will be easier if we start looking where you lost it" The eternal flame suggested, carefully rubbing her tiny hands with his thumb as he was keeping his voice quiet and gentle, to not alarm the kid anymore.

The child sniffled as she wiped her tears. Almost hiding behind him as they wandered. Unknowing of the hunter in the bushes nearby. The adult smiled, slightly worried about the kid. “I- I think I was in a tree-?.. I'm not sure..” She mumbled softly “And then I ducked because three hunters were running nearby…” As the child finished speaking, the fiery one furrowed his brow. Stupid hunters, they just have to be everywhere.

He shook his head, trying to not look upset in front of the little girl. "Hm..." He started thinking, looking around to see if he could find any place where it fit the description she was giving him. He started looking around, and after a few moments, he found a ragdoll plushie that resembles a bunny. It seemed a bit old

He carefully grabbed the plushie, showing it to the kid "... Is this what you were looking for, little one?" He spoke with a soft smile, giving the plushie to the crying child

The child stopped sobbing, and quickly hugged the plushie, squeezing it tightly. “Yes…! Thank you, mister Infernal…!” She spoke in a quiet yet happy tone, accompanied with a small smile.

The flame chuckled softly, glad that the child got back what she was looking for. "Now, you must return to your home. This forest is... Not safe, for the time being. You should be ok if you keep heading this way" He subtly pointed towards a direction, his other hand moving on the head of the child.

"Be careful, alright?" He smiled, his flames flickering lightly. The girl poofed into a bat. The plush clenched securely in a paw as she flew the way the other pointed “O- okay!! Thank you again mister!!” She yelled before she flew off into the night sky. Wind Hunter took this as his chance now that the small one was gone.

He lifted his bow up to aim at the fiery vampire. His hands were shaky.. Why was he nervous? He never got nervous when it came to killing these beasts. He sucked in a breath as he pulled back an arrow on his bow. He aimed then released his grip and let the arrow fly. The arrow missed due to his shaky grip, scraping the vampires cheek

“Oh fuck-…” The hunter cursed lightly under his breath, his eyes widening.

The vampire was startled by the sudden feeling of pain on his cheek. He looked at the arrow, and then at the direction where it came from, spotting the hunter within the bushes. "... Huh..." He hummed to himself, as he seemed to recognise the legendary Wind Hunter. He smirked, before returning to his curious smile, looking at the hunter.

Wind Hunter froze a bit when the Vampires gaze shifted to him. Damn you shaky hands why couldn’t you just work with me-?? He thought to himself. He sat up from the bushes and quickly grabbed another arrow and pointed it at the fiery vampire with a sharp gaze. Swallowing down his anxiety

“Get back you- you beast-!” He barked defensively. Meanwhile, the vampire just looked at the hunter, slightly unamused. "I haven't said anything nor have I moved at all" He smiled, as he kept standing still. He would then just lean back against his trustworthy staff, probably waiting for the hunter to shoot his arrow. He was just... Accepting his death, it seems.

Surprised, the hunter looked the other up and down a bit confused. He wasn’t fighting—? Well, that sure was new. Usually vampires just snapped and attacked in his experience but.. he was just accepting it? What vampire does that?

“You’re.. not fighting back?” he raised a brow in confusion and a hint of curiosity, keeping his bow pointed. The vampire's smile widened at his question, glad that he caught his curiosity.

"Why would I? We all know you, you wouldn't actually kill me." He giggled a bit, still leaning back against his staff. It seemed like he had nothing to hide. The green bird’s brows furrowed in confusion. His bow faltered a bit at the statement. This was odd… soooo fucking odd “And how exactly would you know that, spawn .” he scoffed with a look. As if this guy knew him, the hunter thought. The fiery one couldn't help but laugh at the nickname, leaning his face a tad closer to the hunter

"Well... You are as intriguing as the rumour, huh? The legendary Wind Hunter Cookie, somewhat known for not wanting to kill us if it wasn't necessary." He spoke slowly and clearly, like if he wanted the hunter to listen to him carefully.

" It'd be an honour to crumble by one of your arrows " He smirked, patiently waiting for the hunter’s next move.

Wind Hunters face turned to anger to confusion in curiosity in a matter of moments his bow lowering “..Im known within the Vampires—?” he muttered with a look of genuine confusion. He at first didn’t believe the vampire but to be fair he had a point. He didn’t kill vampires unless absolutely needed or they were a threat. There was some truth behind the vampires taunting words.

The flame definitely noticed his curiosity, tilting his head as he kept talking. "Mhm, very well known, actually. That's why we usually hang out here often, it's somewhat safer here compared to other villages." He explained, mostly to try to keep his attention.

"You are way different than other hunters... And we honestly like that" The flame's tone was soft, nothing compared to how cookies usually describe vampires. This vampire was different, almost suspicious.

The Vampire being soft and casual was definitely a cause for suspicion. But the fact that the vampire wasn’t trying to outright slaughter him was.. odd to him. He wasn’t sure what it was about him. Against his better judgement he lowered his bow fully. Face still confused

“That is- odd. I was unaware that you guys even noticed that..” to be fair he didn’t really even think vampires thought about it. The vampire chuckled again "You really didn't think we are that stupid, right?" He smirked, moving one of his hands on the hunter's shoulder. He was slowly getting closer to the green bird, like if he had no idea what personal space was.

After a few moments of silence, the eternal flame noticed how the hunter seemed like he wasn't going to kill him any moment soon. "See? Knew you wouldn't kill me. You are such a gentleman, birdie" He smiled, his fangs being very visible to the hunter. Those sharp and deadly fangs...

The hunter tensed up at the warm palm that was placed on his shoulder. The heat was really comforting to a blind eye, really. He took a step back from the other as if trying to keep a distance from him. Still evaluating in his head if the vampire really was peaceful or if it was just playing a part to not be killed

“Watch yourself.. spawn” he warned lightly yet firmly for the vampire to keep his distance. Calling the campfire the monstrous nickname since, to be fair, what else was he supposed to call him.

"Oh, no need to give me silly nicknames, little bird" *He laughed at his words, trying to pretend that he wasn't annoyed that he tried to keep his distance. He tried to keep his usual warm smile

The flame would then extend his hand, offering a handshake. "Name's Infernal Jam . It's a big pleasure to be able to have a civil conversation with a legend" He attempted to get closer once again "Maybe we could... Be friends? I could tell you more things about vampires... we get misunderstood a lot, you know" Infernal Jam explained, trying to gain the hunter's trust

Wind hunter looked at the other's extended hand with an unamused look. Raising a brow with a pointed look and frown. He full heartedly didn't really trust this guy at all. The vampire's share of his name didn't do much to ease his nerves. "I'm not stupid enough to fall for that.” he said gesturing towards the extended hand “How do I know you're not just playing along until you have the chance to bite me?”

The hunter could hear how Infernal Jam laughed once again, rolling his eyes. This wasn't going to be as easy as he thought... "Well, I haven't tried to harm you, have I?" He reasoned, sitting on his own staff. "Usually vampires would've tried to tackle you and bite you without hesitation. I haven't done any of that" The fiery one spoke with some confidence, though deep down, he was bothered that the hunter wasn't that easily fooled.

"I mean it, not all vampires are evil, you know? We are not monsters" He finished explaining himself, still offering the green bird a handshake. Wind Hunter thought about it reasonably for a moment. Just a few minutes ago he did just see the vampire helping out a child, even if she was also a vampire, it was a kind sight as much as he would never admit that out loud. And Infernal Jam hadn't attacked nor even tried to yet.

The green bird sighed lightly. He came to the conclusion that he would play along, but if anything happened he would be quick about it “..I haven’t met one like you…” he hummed lightly hesitantly returning the hand shake. Adjusting his scarf a bit more up against his chin as if just incase

Infernal Jam's smile widened, happily shaking his hand. His hands were very warm, which would make sense since his hair is literally made out of fire. "A pleasure that you give me the opportunity to be friends! This is going to be very interesting, eh?" He released the grip on his hand, returning to lean back against his staff

"Y'know, I heard there's other hunters around here.... I wouldn't like to get interrupted or anything. Maybe tomorrow at night we could hang out here again? I can show you many things about vampires that not all mortals know. Just the two of us ." Infernal Jam tilted his head, hoping he could catch the hunter's curiosity once again.

Wind Hunter hummed in surprise at the suggestion. Shoving his hand back in his coat’s pocket trying to shake off the warmth of the other’s hand. He hesitated greatly. That also just reminded him.. he has no fucking idea where any of his siblings are still. “Im… not that sure if I even should.” he said with a furrowed brow. Still tense. “I really shouldn’t even be talking to you right now”

Infernal Jam forced a smile, frustrated that he's still hesitating. He shook his head "Well, it's definitely not normal to talk to a vampire, I'll give you that." He then looked around the forest they were in, his flame being the only bright light source besides the moon above them "I'm not forcing you to go, I'm just suggesting."

"It will be very fun" He leaned back, giving the hunter some space to think "And, I know we just met, but I won't harm you or anything. I'll allow you to stab my chest if I ever try to do something to you" He assured the hunter, hoping that would make him look less suspicious. Wind Hunter glanced at the moon. It was around maybe midnight now. And this guy was his only light source… He glanced back over to the fiery vampire with a pointed look. The assurance only helped to dim his suspicions a tad.

“..Hm. Fine..” He muttered lowly. The words seemed crazy to him. He was actually going through with this. Why? He didn’t know. Infernal Jam smirked. Finally , he thought. "Very well! Glad you finally gave in, little bird" He quickly moved his hand to playfully ruffle his hair, starting to float away "We shall see each other tomorrow then, I'm excited to show you everything about us vampires. I bet you'll love it"

The vampire winked at the hunter, and was about to go, until he felt something sharp suddenly stab his chest. An arrow. He stumbled a bit, losing balance and falling to the ground. The way he moved was a bit... off. Like if he wasn't truly hurt. "Nice shot, Slush!" A confident and familiar voice.

It was Gold Honey Cake, and his other siblings that were coming out from some bushes. The yellow bird and his siblings quickly rushed where their oldest brother was. The young blue bird quickly rushed to her oldest brother. "Wind! Wind! Are you alright?!" She got in front of the green bird, making sure he wasn't harmed. "We are so sorry for leaving you alone! We were super duper worried about you..." She even began to tear up a little bit, very relieved that her brother was doing just fine. Red Panna Cotta rushed over with the other two.

Wind Hunter smiled softly when he saw his siblings. At least they were fine. He grunted a huff when Blue Slushy gave him a big hug. He lightly pushed her off with a pat on the head “I’m fine.. I’m fine.. dont worry” he said in a slight chuckle. He gave a weary eye to the wounded vampire on the forest floor

"Geez... That was close..." the yellow bird muttered, looking at the vampire that was laying down on the ground. The red bird gave the vampire a look of disgust as he eyed its wounded form on the ground. He noticed how the vampire hadn’t been wounded at all before the trio had got there. He looked back at his older brother who was being squeezed by the blue bird girl. He wasn’t injured either. How peculiar … he thought to himself

The red bird nudged the vampire in a disgusted manner with his foot. Red panna cotta noticed the look his older brother gave the Vampire. He then put two and two together.

“Wind- were you two being friendly just now?” He scoffed with a pointed look to his older brother ”... Huh? Excuse me?” The older hunter froze up at the questions. He felt his siblings eyes dart to him in question and felt his throat close up at the pressure. Gold Honey Cake paid attention to what Cotta pointed out, and realised that he was right— None of them were hurt. "Huh, that's certainly peculiar, isn't it? I don't want to jump to conclusions, but..." He mumbled, but didn't want to believe that his brother was possibly being friendly with one of their enemies. "... It is a bit suspicious...." The yellow bird mumbled.

“What? no... Nono—! Me? Talking to a vampire..?? Don't be absurd, Red Panna Cotta!” The green bird tried to deny it, but there was proof that he could be talking to a vampire. Too suspicious.

The blue bird started to worry a bit. She shook her head, there was no way her oldest brother would do that! "There must've been a misunderstanding! There's no way our Windy would try to be kind to a vampire..." She tried to defend him, speaking with a worried tone as she was looking at her oldest brother with concern

"... right?" The blue bird looked at Wind Hunter, who felt a bit awkward under their gazes. He shared an unnoticeable gaze with Infernal Jam before clearing his throat. Swallowing down the lump in his throat “Right. I would never do that… I was just—“ he thought for a moment. “ —...Taken off guard is all! You guys just came by so quickly, me and him didn’t even have a moment to fight” he said formally. “Gosh, I don’t know what would’ve happened if you guys didn’t come by”

Red Panna Cotta who was still poking at the vampire. He smirked as he got shot an annoyed glare from it. He turned to the older bird with a hum. “Well I suppose that checks out” Red always had the most trust in his older brother. Giving the older hunter a nod. Gold Honey Cake nods, seeing that what Wind Hunter said seemed logical.

Blue Slushy sighed, relieved that nothing bad was going on. She could never imagine her oldest brother being friends with a vampire. "I knew nothing was going on! And I was the one that saved you! hehe.." The little bird spoke with pride, feeling proud that she managed to shoot the vampire directly on his chest.

The yellow bird then smiled at his younger sister, noticing how happy she was "Yeah yeah, nice shot yeah." He laughed, the happiness of the little one being contagious. "... We should be heading back home now. I doubt there's more vampires around. We looked everywhere, quite literally, and there was not a single evidence of a vampire being here." Gold Honey Cake informed with a yawn, his tiredness being somewhat noticeable "... Besides, I'm sleepy..."

Wind hunter gave his younger brother a glance then a small nod. He adjusted his scarf and dusted his coat off before gesturing for his siblings to follow “Yeah.. Come on now. It's late enough” He said gesturing towards the direction the village was. He just kind of wanted the three away from that vampire.

After a few minutes, he made sure nobody was around, and tried to get up. The flame groaned, ripping out the arrow that was stabbed across his chest. '... Stupid birds. Wanting to mess up my plans, huh?' Infernal Jam thought, as he looked at the arrow with a furrowed brow, throwing it away and started heading back to the land where the rest of the vampires were. He was hungry, that loss of jam from the arrow made him hungrier than what he already was. 'Curse that little blue bird...'

Vampire Cookie was sitting at the bar of the crowded pub. Vampires were chatting, drunken words spreading through the dark pub. Vampire Cookie was chatting with the bartender, head leaning on his palm and his other hand swirled his grape wine. He chuckled at something the bartender had said

“I dunno.. it's been one order after another with her..” Vampire Cookie chuckled lazily as he chatted with the bartender. Sparkling was mixing wine for another customer. Adjusting his flowy coat, he slid the drink over to the awaiting vampire next to Vamp.

“It seems Dark Enchantress has been sending a lot of vampires out on missions nowadays” Sparkling hummed in a pec of interest at Vamp’s  drunken babbles “Speaking of which.. have you heard from Infernal Jam as of recent?”

”Eh—?” Vamp looked up dizzily at the bartender. His shoulder slumping into a shrug. “Infernal? Pshh.. I dunno.. Why do you ask?” Sparkling smirked nonchalantly with a shrug, refilling the others glass casually “Curious is all. He used to be a regular here, haven't seen the hot head in a good while”

Vamp slumped further against his palm before lazily taking another sip from his glass “Hell do I know… that guy is everywhere. You can't just keep him in one place” Vamp scoffed “Even Dark Enchantress has been looking for him..” “Really now?” The bartender leaned against the counter. Leaning back on his elbows

“Seems Dark Enchantress can’t keep a leash on the flame. Can you blame her?” He chuckled lightly, covering his mouth with his gloved palm.

He hummed as he heard the door to the bar open, the familiar screaming ding that rang when someone opened the dark oak door. There was a familiar flaming vampire that floated over to the bar. Sparkling smirked at the irony. Infernal Jam then entered the bar, an annoyed expression on his face. His clothes, apart from being bloody where the arrow was before, were a bit dirty from the kicking of those birds. Infernal Jam kept cursing those birds under his breath.

“Speak of the devil..! Well greetings Infernal” The bartender huffed a laugh as he polished a glass. He floated to sit on his usual spot. "Hey. Give me the usual." The eternal flame asked, leaning his head against his hand as he placed the money on the countertop. His flames weren't as bright as usual, mostly because he was bothered about what happened

"... Hey Vamp." He looked at the other vampire, giving him an unamused expression. Even if he was pissed, he didn't want to be rude towards one of his... friends, if he could consider Vamp a friend.

”My oh my look at you..!” The Bartender huffed a concerned laugh laced with a bit of teasing. Taking a moment to look at the others tattered and messy clothes. He slid the money into his pocket as he prepared his drink. Polishing the wine glass before pouring some grape wine and sliding it over to the fiery vampire. ”What happened to you..?” Vamp said with a raised brow.

The other looked like a mess, a stark contrast to his usual formal and pretty look. Even his flame was down. That was unlike the cocky bastard Vamp knew “You look like you got run over by a horse” he stated bluntly before downing the rest of his wine and patting his lips with his sleeve.

Infernal Jam took the drink, taking a sip from it. "Oh buddy, don't get me started." He scoffed, trying to clean the dust off his clothes. "So y'know that one kid, right? Onion cookie?" He began to explain, holding the glass in his hand. "She got lost, so I just went to... y'know, get her plushie back, 'cuz she lost it."

"And when we found it, some—" He grumbled “—some guy just tried to shoot an arrow towards me, and check what he did!" He pointed at the scar on his cheek "Can you fucking believe it??" he huffed, taking another sip from his drink.

Vamp and Sparkling nodded along. Vamp looked unamused but smirked as he saw the scar. “I mean, it sounds like a hunter.. I could believe it” He chuckled drunkly. Sparkling Cookie poured Vamp another glass of wine. That was the last one before he was risking vamp being shit faced

“An arrow?” Sparkling hummed with a raised brow “Hunters have been using bullets now haven’t they? I haven’t heard a hunter using a bow besides that one…” The name was right on the tip of his tongue. He tapped his chin “Wi.. wimb… worm..-?? Wind..? Archer-? Hunner?”

Infernal Jam scoffed, placing his hand over his forehead. "Yeah yeah, Wind Hunter , that's his name. That was the guy that tried to shoot me" He grumbled. He drank some of his grape wine before clearing his throat to continue explaining

"So like, yeah, I met that guy. I just looked at him for a bit, and he was confused on why I didn't try to attack him back, I guess." He tapped the glass "So we shared a bit of a conversation. I kinda lied to him, saying that he was legendary or some shit, when in reality he's just... peculiar, somewhat known between us, I suppose." The flame shrugged "And he kinda lowered his guard, so I tried to find the opportunity to bite him---" He groaned before continuing to speak, his flames flickering with frustration. " AND HE JUST — ugh, he wasn't dumb. He kinda saw my intentions, so I had to... befriend him." he mumbled that last part.

Vamp choked on his wine, spitting it out back into the glass with a cough. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve as he coughed. ”You.. what?” Sparkling covered his mouth with his gloved hand as he laughed. Wiping a stray tear from his eye “Ah- haha— !! Oh, Infernal, you sure are full of surprises—!!!” He giggled as he calmed down.

”you are so fuckin’ stupid…” Vamp chuckled a cough into his sleeve “Befriend? A mortal? .. Gosh the ideas you come up with…” "Listen! It's part of a plan, alright?" The fiery one tried to excuse himself "I told him to come to the same place we were talking about, and I'll just have him trapped, and he will be one of us. I heard some rumours that he's a great archer." He smirked, leaning back against his staff. He tends to do that a lot.

His smile quickly disappeared from his lips as he continued to explain "But then I got— fucking INTERRUPTED by some arrow one of his siblings. 'Cuz apparently, he HAD to be accompanied." He huffed, pointing the large stain of jam on his chest. He was so, so pissed about that. " A blue little brat, a red tall smartass nerd, and some yellow ugly himbo." He spoke with such an upset tone. He tried to take a deep breath, he didn't want to burn down the whole bar.

”My oh my.. looks like you have a stain there now” The bartender giggled lightly leaning against the counter.

”You know, speaking of plans…” Vamp started, swirling his wine in the glass as he leaned on his palm. He gave the fiery vampire a glance “Dark Enchantress has been looking for you. She’s been wanting to see you all night” he smirked lightly. The fiery one blinked, caught off guard for a moment. Dark Enchantress?? THE Dark Enchantress???? Looking for him?? Must've been very important.

 "... Are you for real??”
