Chapter Text
Attend my friends to this most sorrowful tale
Of one none more star-doomed than he.
And of his misadventures I must sadly regale
For you see, my friends, that man is me.
For once I possessed the most faithful hound
Of breeding and temper unmatched
But alas, my companion can no longer be found
To the heavens he’s since been dispatched.
So raise a glass to me, my friends
As tragedies upon me do pile!
For while my misfortunes may know no ends
Perhaps, for you, they may bring a smile!
In grief I’d purchased a carriage quite rich
As ‘round Myth I had hoped soon to trek
But the ass I’d bought with, jumped ‘cross a deep ditch
Leaving my heart and my carriage a wreck
So raise a glass to me, my friends
As tragedies upon me do pile!
For while my misfortunes may know no ends
Perhaps, for you, they may bring a smile!
I sought solace in the arms of a maiden most fine
A lass I had pledged soon to wed
But if you’ve paid attention to this song of mine
Yes, to another my lady has fled.
So raise a glass to me, my friends
As tragedies drive me to the brink!
And since my misfortunes may know no ends
Perhaps, for me you’d purchase a drink?
