Let’s take us back to Saturday night.
Leafy stood in her bedroom looking for something cool, but not too edgy, fancy, but not too flashy, attractive, but not attention drawing.
This was the first party she was going to after all, after a while of trying very hard to get people, any people, to like her, being overly nice, and very helpful, and constantly apologizing.
Back in 9th grade, she did something to turn everyone against her. What? Well we’ll get there. Everyone seemed to move past it and whenever Leafy would again apologize they wouldn’t care anymore.
All except one person, one person who has been ignoring her the past 2 years, one person who Leafy still somehow cares most for, the person whom she grew up with and dated for about 4 years (6th-9th)
Firey. If you already couldn’t tell who I was talking about.
Leafy put on a dark green tank top, Jeans, since it was October, and sneakers. She put her curly hair into a ponytail, her bangs falling out. Her hair was a fading kind of green, fading back into the regular brown color, she needs to redye it, she never actually lets it get back to brown.
She looked in the mirror, checking herself over and over, she kept fixing her hair and checking how feminine she looked.
Leafy knew she was trans in 4th grade after she absolutely understood what it meant but it was obvious even before that. She thinks her face is to masculine, she has a big nose, big lips and a strong jawline, her eyes are actually quite big and brown.
She puts on mascara and lip gloss. She checks her phone again, Pin said Coiny would pick her up.
Pin and Leafy have been talking again she’s the reason she’s going to this anyways, Becuase Pin said she should and said she’d give her a ride.
Leafy walks downstairs and waits on her front porch. Her leg shakes, she thinks of all the people who will be there. Leafy’s not the type to drink or smoke. She knows Pin hates when people smoke. Though she might drink something just so she doesn’t look awkward standing around.
Eventually, she watches as Coiny’s fucking orange G-6 pull up. And she saw Firey in the backseat. That had to be him she thought, Pin was in the passenger seat, Leafy’s heart sank as she opened the door and actually saw him. She sat down a nervous smile on her face as Pin said hi to her.
Firey only rolled his eyes and Leafy felt so anxious. “Jesus Christ, Firey get over yourself” Coiny says “I don’t know what you're talking about, and you can’t be talking with your massive ego.” “Hey-!” “Both of you shut the fuck up” Pin interrupted both of them. Before something started playing in the stereo, very loud, too loud for Leafy’s liking the car vibrated basically.
But she read the title on the screen, “She Hates Me by Puddle Of Mudd” . Pin and Coiny were singing it, Firey was looking out the window, and Leafy was sitting silently.
She seen as Firey took a swig of vodka and then passed it up to Pin, Pin turned around and went to pass it to Leafy, but she declined.
Eventually they pulled up to a big house. It was Pen, Pencil, and Marker’s house, since they are all siblings, their house looked very fancy. They all got out of the car, and saw how many people were already here. They all started walking inside.
Immediately Firey walked off and Coiny and Pin left her to go get drinks, she followed them. Pin shoved something in her hand. She wasn’t sure what it was but Pin said, “Don’t worry, you’ll like it.”
The music was quite loud and there were people all over. She took one sip of the drink and cringed hard. It was almost sour and it was burning her throat. She put the cup down on a random table, and grabbed a Mike’s can instead.
She lost sight of Pin and Coiny. She sat down at a table. Across from her was Match who looked pissed but also very sad.
“Uhm, hey, Match are you okay?” Match turned “Leafy? I've never seen you at one of these things before.” “Yeah well Pin wanted me to come but she left me.” “Ohh” Match replied “Well are you okay?” Leafy asked again “Leafy do you like smoke?” Match avoided the question, Leafy only shook her head no “I never have before”
Match eyes widened at that “Like, never ever?” Leafy shook her head no again, People walked into the kitchen they were in, it was Ruby and Book. They saw as Ruby pressed Book against the counter and started making out, very sloppily, Leafy’s eyes widened. And Match cheered and started laughing.
Leafy knew that Match, and Pencil were dating… Kinda. She knew Pencil was an awful girlfriend and has slept with almost every girl in the school. She knew that Match, Bubble, Pencil, and Ruby were all best friends, sometimes Book and Ice Cube too, but they only seemed to interact with Bubble and Ruby, sometimes Match and very very very rarely Pencil.
Leafy stood up feeling very uncomfortable having these made out right here. Match also stood up and dragged leafy outside on the back porch. Out there was already a joint. Neither of them knew who it was but Match didn’t care. She lit it up and took a puff going to hand it to Leafy and she took a hit off it starting to cough a bunch.
Match laughed and continued to smoke the joint. Leafy did not want any more of that, but she did stay out here with Match til she flicked it on the ground.
“I hate Pencil so much.” Match said Leafy perked up, “Why? Aren’t you guys dating?” “Not right now! I don’t know why I always let her come back.” “Why not now? What happened?”
“Well she’ll just up and like leave me whenever she feels like to go fuck someone else or even date someone like else, hence Needle. And I always let her like come back, always, I know I shouldn’t, but I feel like I have to , and I like hate it. And she always acts like such a good girlfriend and she’s so good at like fucking, not even gonna lie. But, she like always just abandons me!” Match opened up and Leafy blinked a couple of times,
Leafy wasn’t sure what to say so she say said the first thing she thought of “Why don’t you just date someone else?” “No one would like want me” she replies and Leafy audibly gasps at that “What the hell are you talking about? Do you know how hot you are? Go ask the first person you see in there to hook up or even date and they’ll say yes.” Match laughed at those words, but Leafy was completely serious.
Match had dark skin, a small wide nose, big lips dark brown eyes and long eyelashes, Afro hair, that was always in a bun with a tan headband holding it out of her face, She wore a red crop top and low rise jeans with tan platform sandals, she was definitely a DD size or maybe even more, she had a slim waist and honestly anyone would be lucky to have her.
“I’m serious, Match. Literally I bet 10 bucks the first person you hit on will not reject you” Match laughed again “Okay like, deal then.”
They stand up and walk back inside, Match spotted Liy, a girl who she’s had her eye on for awhile, she was in the grade below but the same age as Match.
“Hey, Liy?” “Oh uh hi, Match.” Liy replies and Match already noticed her blush and realized maybe Leafy was right, and maybe she’d have to give up 10 bucks.
Leafy watched for a second before turning back around and she noticed people sitting around in a circle, one of them being Pin. She walked up to her and asked “What’s going on?” “Seven minutes in heaven.” Leafy sat down next to Pin and someone handed her a piece of paper and a pen and she wrote her name, slipping it into the bowl full of the other paper slips.
“Where’s Coiny?” Leafy asked Pin. “Who knows or cares” Pin replied sounding pissed “Did something happen” before Pin could respond Blocky sat down and picked up the bowl reaching in there he picked out the first one looking around the circle, He read the name aloud. “Bubble! Anddddd…” Bubble looked around the circle playing with her hands “Fanny!”
They both stood up, everyone was waiting for Fanny to say she hated this game or something but they just both walked to the closet and Blocky set a timer and locked the door.
Leafy looked at Pin who already had a resting bitch face but now it was 10x more angry looking. She kept drinking vodka, the bottle looking almost gone, Pin was swaying in place. And kept bumping against Leafy. “Pin are you alright?” “Who? Me?” Pin leaned closer to Leafy looking up at her “Yes you, are you okay” “I’m pissed as fuck but km better now” She says shaking her bottle “Why are you mad?” “Coiny. He thinks the fucking shit. He will smoke a bunch of weed and act like he’s so much better than anything, I hate when people smoke, and act like that, I didn’t even do anything and he’s acting like he’s too cool to talk to me, I tell him not to smoke cus he’s always a douche bag when he does but ya know! Who listens to Pin?!!l”
Pin’s words were slurred and Leafy nodded “I see” was all Leafy said. “I’m sorry.” Pin looked Leafy up and down and was gonna say something before the timer went off and Bubble stepped out first looking more giddy than before. Fanny had a dark blush on her face and she didn’t look at anyone; she just sat back down next to Bubble.
Blocky pulled out another name “Pin! Andddd…. Leafy!” They both stood up, Leafy was thankful that it was Pin and not someone who didn’t like her.
They both sat in the closet. It was cramped; they were pressed against each other. Pin finished off the bottle, and turned to the other girl. “Leafy? You know what would make me feel better?”
Leafy perked up at that, she wanted to help Pin, she wanted to help anyone that needed it, but Pin right now. “Hm?”
“A kiss..” Pin, traced down Leafy’s thigh stopping at a hole she had in her jeans. She flicked her eyes up at Leafy, “…from you.” Leafy bit her lip, she knew Pin was drunk, and she had a boyfriend, whom she was severely mad at though, and if it meant helping her… and saying no, would not be the nice thing to do. And it would probably make Pin hate her!
So Leafy, grabbed her chin and kissed her hard, she could taste the alcohol. Pin’s eyes widened and she made a little sound as she suddenly kissed her. But, her eyes fluttered closed and she kissed back, equally as hard.
Soon it was getting sloppier. Hands all over to each other, Pin was very messy, and Leafy was trying to hold her steady but she was also very into it. It felt like it was already way over 7 minutes but they weren’t keeping track.
Leafy pulled back to breath and Pin was looking at her through her lashes “…Pin, how drunk are you?” Pin only laughs at that question, her hands currently on Leafy’s waist. “Pin?”
Pin doesn’t say anything just going back for a kiss, they go back to making out, Pin moves and her hand lands on Leafy’s crotch and the girl jumps at that, her hips grinding slightly. She pulls back again “Pin.. what are you doing?” Leafy didn’t want Pin to do anything that she would regret soberly, but it seems the girl didn’t care. “Shut up.” Is all Pin says as she starts kissing her again, starting to rub her hand making Leafy squirm and whine into the kiss.
“Oh shit!!!” They hear the door swing open and Pin scrambles up. She simply stands up pushing someone out of the way walking away. Leafy stands up with her hands in front of her to hide the bulge, her face red with embarrassment.
As she walks away she hears everyone there burst into laughter. And Jesus she needs to find Pin, now.
“Oh shit sorry!” She bumps into Firey who stumbles and falls into the coffee table, seeing him below her like that somehow not making her boner much better. She quickly shakes her head and helps him back up, he leans forward. “Leafy?” He says “Haha, surprised you even remember my name!” She jokes, he shakes his head at that squinting. His shirt was gone, you could see his top surgery scars, and the freckles all over his body, and his tan skin. And Leafy literally wanted to melt right here, but he does look like a mess.
“Have you seen Pin?” Leafy asks, holding his shoulders to keep him straight up, “Uh uh but they’re my ride.” “I don’t think Pin’s gonna even get in the car with him.” She replied
“Here help me find one of them.” Leafy says Firey just groans in response. This is almost like a dream to Leafy. Firey actually talked to her he might be drunk as fuck, but he talked to her, and he has no shirt on this is so amazing, this makes what happened before not even matter she’s just so happy.
She grabs Firey’s hand walking through the crowd of people, some of them giving the two looks, since they all know Firey to hate Leafy. But eventually, they find Pin and she's sitting against the wall, sleeping.
Leafy lets go of Firey’s hand “Stay.” She leans down and shakes Pin, as she wakes up she pulls her up. Pin doesn’t say anything looking like she’s gonna pass out again.
“Hold on, I'll just call Coiny.” Leafy pulls out her phone and finds Coiny’s contact as she presses the call, Firey leaned against her, and Pin leaned against the back of the couch. Leafy blinked a couple times rubbing her eyes, it was around 1:00 AM, and she was feeling awfully tired, oh, and hard. All she wanted was to go home.
It rang for a second before Coiny picked with a raspy “Hello?” “Where are you? We need to go home.” Coiny starts laughing over the phone and she sighs “Your high?” Coiny keeps laughing “Yeah” “okay I’m coming to get your keys I’ll just drive.” Leafy responds and she can kinda see what Pin was talking about. Then she thinks about how huge this house is “Wait where are you?” She asks and Coiny just laughs “Haha I don’t know” and he hangs up.
She gasps and gets kinda pissed. She just puts her phone in her pocket. She looks at the two drunken people. Firey wasn’t asleep, he had a smile on his face, and was still using Leafy as a cushion. And Pin was asleep leaned against the back of the couch they were standing at.
Leafy just decided to take them to the car so she can find Coiny. “Come on guys,” She grabbed both their hands pulling them, waking Pin up. She found her way to the door and walked to the car. She opened the passenger side and sat Pin down. Then she closed the door and went to the back and sat Firey down. He laughed and leaned back “thanks, Leafy.” Her eyes widened a bit and she smiled, her heart and soul filled with joy. Her hand grazed his chest. Oh yeah, his shirt.
She shook him a bit, “Firey? How bad do you want your shirt?” Firey only giggled and shook his head, she even heard Pin snort. So she wasn’t asleep… “What’s so funny?” No answer. “K then, I’m going to get Coiny.” She heard Pin sigh at that and she frowned feeling bad. She covered Firey with his jacket that he left in the car before closing the door and walking back into the house.
The first person she bumped into she asked them “Have you seen Coiny anywhere?” It was Pen, “Leafy? I didn’t know you were here! I heard you and Pin hooked up in a closet.” Leafy went silent. “We didn’t even hook up. But, really, have you seen Coiny.” Pen thought for a second “uhh I think I have* he shrugged before walking away.
Wow. Great help. Leafy looked over and saw Match and Liy walking down the stairs together and she smiled to herself. She walked through the kitchen. And seen Ruby and Book sitting on the floor together, smoking a bowl. When they saw her they looked at each other. Then back up at her. “Have either of you seen Coiny?” They looked at each other again. Book answered “He’s outside in the backyard in the canopy thing.” She answered Ruby blustered “Did you and Pin hook up in a closet.” Leafy stopped What the fuck?! These two weren’t even there “we didn’t hook up.” Leafy says Ruby responds, “I didn’t actually believe it!” Book says “I did.”
Leafy just shakes her head, if everyone knows now Coiny probably does too and damn this is gonna be so bad.
Leafy walks outside and goes to the canopy and there she finds Coiny, the place is surrounded with smoke and it smells real bad. “Coiny lets go.” “Aww man. You found me.” He laughs and she only rolls her eyes. She looked around and nobody was out here anymore, so maybe he didn't know but he definitely will. She pulled him up and he stumbled and laughed more. “Please lets just go” Leafy quickly stumbled through the people dragging Coiny, they got to the car quickly and she asked for his keys and he gave them to her, Pin and Firey were actually asleep in the car now, and Leafy started to drive to her house, feeling awfully tired, the events of the night replaying in her head.
She pulls into her drive way, Both her brothers home. She turned off the car, she looked back and Coiny was sleeping too now. She honestly didnt know to just leave them in the car, or have to wake them all up. She sighed looking at Pin then in the backseat and when she looked back she found Firey staring right back at her she jumped a little. “Oh.. hey” she said. Firey blinked a couple times “My head hurts” “Do you wanna sleep inside?” Leafy asks “Bed” FIrey responds raspily. “Yeah.. I have one of those..” Leafy replies…
And with that Firey got out of the car and walked up the stairs and into Leafy’s house, Leafy also quickly got out following him inside. He was already walking up the stairs. Leafy decided to just sleep on the couch. She plops down turning off all the lights, she kicks off her shoes and lays down.
Damn, Firey seems to hate her a lot lot less when hes drunk, though he’ll probably go back to the same tomorrow when hes sober. ANd she doesnt even know whats gonna happen with the Pin thing. Shes just hoping Pin wont stop talking to her, she was very drunk though she doesnt even know if she’ll remember, jesus this night has been chaotic. Leafy closes her eyes and eventually she drifts off to sleep.
