Chapter Text
Judas reclined against the wall, a bottle of beer in one hand, and a cigarette in the other. It was nearly 3am, and whilst he was desperate to sleep, he knew moving would be nearly impossible without falling over.
A familiar head of brown hair appeared in his periphery.
“Jesus!” he called, and the man soon appeared by his side.
“How are you still functioning?” Jesus asked, rolling his eyes.
“‘m not,” slurred Judas, as he snuffed out the cigarette on the ashtray beside him.
Jesus smiled. “Let’s get you to bed, okay?” he said, pulling Judas’ arm around him.
“Hey, Jesus?”
“Yes, Judas?”
“Would you love me if I was a worm?”
It took all of Jesus’ self control to not burst out laughing. “Of course I would.”
Judas gave him a dopey grin, his copper hair flopping in his face.
“But out of interest, how much have you had to drink tonight?” Jesus probed lightheartedly.
“I dunno,” Judas replied. “If you were a worm, I don’t think I’d love you. Worms are weird. I love human Jesus, not worm Jesus.”
Jesus felt his heart flutter.
“Good thing that I am human Jesus, then.”
