INFOGRAPHIC
Hello!!! Welcome to this book. I'm Kayton, but you can call me Kay. This is my first AO3 work, so I hope you like it! Be aware that this fan fiction will also be posted on wattpad at some point, though AO3 will be receiving the updates first. Incase you'd prefer to read the fanfiction on the wattpad version, here is my profile, where the book should be up sooner or later: https://www.wattpad.com/user/k3yton
There will be little to no ships in this book from either sides! This is subject to change though, and I will likely maximum only hint at stuff, and expect ships to likely be slow burns due to the main focus being how UA and TH will handle the exchange programme. Various NPCs will also make cameos, and likely that dead npcs will just be alive for the sake of there being more student and teacher casts!
Update schedule: unless stated, this series is meant to be a weekly to monthly book. AO3 updates happen after Wattpad.
Let the show begin!
Teyvat High.
An assumed "Hero academy" located in Teyvat, Asia. Teyvat is a country located south of Asia, on one of the world's largest islands to ever exist. Despite there being the option to travel to Teyvat by plane, what you can see is very limited, and most people prepare to stay away from the country itself. Due to how mysterious and unknown the country is, many rumors surface online about the country and they are certainly not good rumors.
Wanting to connect the academy's students to the outside world, the administration team of Teyvat High decided to reach out to different schools and invite their students to attend an exchange programme at the various different campuses across the country. The first of these schools was UA high, an Academy that one member of the administration team used to attend and recommended to Ningguang.
"I really do wonder if they'll accept the invite though~" A gentle, tired voice said as two women walked through the hallways of the main administrative building - The Jade Palace, located in Liyue. The one who spoke was a brunette of average height, a purple witch hat hanging on her head. She seemed to wear a normal witch attire - her hero costume. Walking by her side was a slightly taller blonde woman who had her hair tied into a ponytail. She was wearing a more formal uniform, and looked more serious than her friend. "I assure you, they likely wont let an opportunity like this slip, considering the status of Teyvat High. The witch nods as she stretches her arms. "Oh my~ It will be such a pain for a woman like me to deal with more children," The lady said.
"We can't afford to slack during one of the academy's most important times, Lisa. Besides, the students are not coming alone. Their homeroom teachers will be with them. No school would take the risk of sending them off all by themselves." Jean reminded Lisa, who only sighed in return. The two had arrived to the exit of the jade palace, with Baishi, one of Ningguang's most trusted secretaries preparing a lift to bring them back down to the city of Liyue. Jean and Lisa were to take use their gliders to make their way back to Mondstadt.
A FEW DAYS LATER...
AT U.A HIGH
It was another bustling day at UA High, with this being their last class with Aizawa before they were permitted to leave the school grounds. The students were happily chatting together without a care in the world. A few minutes in, Aizawa steps into the classroom, making his way over to the teacher's desk. He immediately slams his fist on the table, earning the attention of all of his students. Despite his usual tired appearance, Aizawa looked more serious than ever. This signalled for the students to remain seated and to keep quiet. "Ehem. This is very important, so listen up." Aizawa started, looking over at all of the students.
"We've been invited to attend an exchange programme by a very unique academy, to say the least. This opportunity is a rare one, so UA couldn't decline." Aizawa explained, as he picked up the marker, writing down the name of the school they were going to attend. This left all of the UA's class 1 flabbergasted. Teyvat High. They were going to THE Teyvat High. Despite that, Aizawa looked more serious than relaxed, for obvious reasons. "You all know about how Teyvat High is the most mysterious academy in the world, and countless terrible rumors spread like wildfire about the school. Especially since it is the only really known school within Teyvat, the most closeted country in the world."
Tenya Iida raised his hand, causing Aizawa to nod his head at Tenya, who immediately shot his question. "Sensei, why are we heading to Teyvat? Isn't it too dangerous? We know nothing about the school." Tenya asked, with a couple of the other students agreeing. Aizawa nodded, before explaining why exactly UA had agreed to this in the first place. "That is the point. I indeed believe it is a bit weird for the principal to agree to send a bunch of rookies like you to such a place, but it is our chance to gather as much info as we could. The academy is definitely hiding something if it decided to be so secluded." Aizawa responded.
"We'll be headed to the airport next Saturday in order to reach the 'Tor von Mondstadt' island, a smaller island connected to the main island of Teyvat, where the representatives of the first campus we'll be staying at is going to be greeting us. One of them being a former student here at UA. The exchange programme will last for a couple of months, and we will be expected to visit all seven of the campuses in the country to spend some time with their students and teachers. Use that time to learn what you can and earn the trust of the academy's pupils. And do not let them know of our true intentions as this mission is crucial. Excellent performance during the event and you'll be awarded a ton of extra grades for your final examinations in December." Aizawa said, as he wrote the instructions on the board.
"The UA staff have made a bulletin in the first yearer's corridors with all the details pinned there incase you'd like to know more. Feel free to ask any of the teachers, just do not disturb me." Aizawa stated as he closed the marker, setting it on the table. Mixed feelings were visible between the students of 1A. Some were very nervous, others excited, and a few unbothered or just simply didn't care. After Aizawa explained everything, they were given the entire period to be free, and the students spent the time talking. Amongst the girls, Mina Ashido, a bubbly pink haired and skinned girl couldn't stop jumping up and down.
"WOW!! Never have I actually thought that we -- UA, will be attending the most mysterious school in the whole world! You guys! This is so exciting!!!" Mina said as she pumped her fists continuously, with Toru joining despite being mostly invisible. Momo nods at them, understanding their excitement before reminding them about what they were getting into. "The most mysterious. A school with secrets nobody knows about. Very weird, don't you think? I wonder what sort of stuff will we find out." Momo said as she scratched her chin.
"Whatever it is, we'll have to be very sneaky to know. I'd imagine the academy will be on high alert too." Jirou stated, with Ochako nodded. Though what piqued Ochako's interest the most wasn't that, but the fact someone who she assumes is working at Teyvat High was a former UA student! She wants to know who that would be. Asui happened to notice Ochako being in deep thought, and found herself patting the brunette by the shoulder as she sat on Ochako's table. "Kero, is soemthing wrong, Ochako-chan?" Tsuyu asked, with Ochako only smiling from ear to ear while giving her a thumbs up.
"I'm just wondering who this former student is. Might she have been an underground Pro hero?" Ochako wondered, interlinking her hands as she rested her head on the back of her hands, letting her thoughts run wild. Just as one of the girls were about to respond, a familiar blonde stuck his head by Jirou, grinning sheepishly at the six women. "Hey hey, ladies! You guys excited?" Kaminari asked, with Jirou smacking his face to get him away from her. Kirishima and Sero soon join the conversation, with Kirishima resting his arms behind his head, and Sero having his on his hips.
"Color me surprised, I didn't think I'll be going to a new country in my first year as a student at UA." Kirishima joked, causing a few laughs to come within the group. Neither were they expecting to be going to Teyvat. As the conversation continued, the students all spoke about what they wanted to see and do once they arrive, even guessing what they were to expect once they arrive to the country.
MONDSTADT'S FOUNTAIN - MONDSTADT PLAZA
"Exchange programme with another school from outside of Teyvat?" A high pitched voice said. It was Mika, one of the students from the Mondstadt dormitories. He was in the bustling plaza in the main city alongside a couple of his friends, Bennett, Razor, Fischl, Noelle and Barbara. The group had finished with their school, aside from Mika, who had to skip the day due to him oversleeping. Noelle had informed him about the news their professor, Mister Albedo, had relayed over to them during their alchemy class today.
"It likely wont end well.." Mika said, kicking his legs as he ate a tuna sandwich. Bennett walked in circles in front of them while Razor watched him quietly, listening to the conversation. "The problem is that our academy and country's reputation is six feet under!! They're definitely going to be hostile-" Bennett worriedly said, with Barbara sighing right after. "Bennett, please calm down. I'm sure it is not that bad." Barbara said as she bit down on her sandwich. Fischl crossed her arms, not giving the entire thing a second thought. "Pay no attention to them! For if they try to hurt, the lion's fangs shall bite!" She firmly stated.
Noelle then turns to Mika. "Do you want me to take you to the campus' bulletin board? It was pinned there somewhere. I'm sure you'd want to know more, after all." Noelle said, with Mika nodding. "Yeah, we can go together tomorrow and find out more. When are they meant to arrive?" He asked once more, with Noelle thinking. "I am pretty sure mister Albedou said around Sunday morning." Noelle stated, before turning to face Bennett. "I hear the current big three are supposed to go with the campus' vice president to greet the transfer students," Those words had Bennett panic even more.
"Oh, so lucky! You guys will get to see the new students first!!" Barbara giggles, but Bennett's expression silences her. He had a knack for bad luck, what if he does something that just ruins the entire programme for the new students and the others. Razor notices and gets up from sitting on the edge of the fountain, grabbing Bennett by the wrist and then pulling him into a hug. "Calm. Bennett, calm." Razor repeated, patting the taller boy on the back. Bennett hugs him back, smiling soon after once he realized how he worried Razor. "Right.. sorry. Thanks Razor," Bennett said, breaking the hug soon after.
"I'd assume the other campuses may have found out by today too." Barbara stated. "And considering that our campus is the closest to the tourism gates, of course they'll be staying with us for a while." Mika sighed, finishing his food. "Perhaps even some of the other campus students will come visit in the weekend just to meet the new comers," Noelle hopped, glitter shimmering in her eyes as she thought about it. "Unlikely! The teachers shall block their paths." Fischl responded. "You never know, Fischl. They might agree." Barbara giggles.
Earlier that day, during the student's lunch period.
TEACHER MEETING ROOM - TEYVAT HIGH, MONDSTADT BRANCH
"Thank you all for coming to this teacher meeting!"
Sitting around a long table were many of the Mondstadt's branch teachers. They were called by the vice president, Jean, in order to discuss an important matter - the exchange programme happening in less than a week. Jean cleared her throat as all eyes were on her. The birds chirped outside. The meeting room was a large room full of shelves and books. In the middle rested a long table, with multiple occupied chairs circling it. A fancy clean red rug resting under the table. The windows were large, and the view of Cider lake was visible to them.
"I apologize for summoning you on such short notice, but I believe the letters may have reached all of you from principal Ningguang. Next Sunday, we will be housing a few students and teachers from a school in a different country. I would like to ask for your cooperation during this, as any minor mistake can ruin our attempt at connecting with the schools outside of Teyvat." Jean stated, walking around the table with her hands behind her back. "I would like you all to act naturally, and please refrain from talking about restricted topics with the outsiders. Be wary of them, as we do not know what they might be plotting. It is weird they have agreed to this in the first place, after all." Jean informed them.
The teachers all nod at Jean's instructions, causing a smile to form on her lips. "Next Sunday, Lisa, the big three of Mondstadt's branch and I will set out to the Tor von Mondstadt gate in order to welcome our guests. I ask of you to inform your students and warn them properly prehand to avoid any critical accidents." Jean advised as she made her way back to the massive projector that was hanging on the wall at the end of one of the room. The woman smiled sweetly soon after. "That is all, thank you."
As soon as Jean concluded her quick speech, the teachers scurried to get out of the meeting room, leaving only Lisa, Albedou and Diluc behind. "Jean." Diluc called, with the blonde woman looking up at her friends quietly. The three glanced at each other before back at their vice president. "Are you okay with all of this..? Considering the fact its UA?" Albedou asked, with Lisa nodding right after. Jean gave them a warm smile, nodding. "Yeah. I have to do this. If I won't, who else will? The president of the branch has his own business to tend to in Snezhnaya and won't be back any time soon." She explained.
She took out some sheets and walked over to Lisa, giving them to her. "Lisa, would you mind passing these over to Katheryne? Let her pass it over to the Snezhnayan version of her so that this can reach Varka." Jean said, and before Lisa can reply, the blonde left the room, leaving Diluc, Albedou and Lisa to stay there silently. "We should try to help her remain comfortable as much as possible while the UA students stay here, at least till they leave for the Liyue campus." Albedou suggested. "Of course. She's technically the acting president till that Varka returns." Diluc replied, leaving the room right after. Lisa and Albedou share one last look before they too leave.
