Chapter Text
It was a quiet afternoon, the air still cold from the heavy rain earlier that morning. The first thing Maxky heard as he stepped into the house was Bas’s voice, animatedly directing his team to a bomb site. Before Bas moved in, the house was filled with the sounds of his pets — birds and cats. Now, there was one more addition, and the place felt even more alive.
“They’re behind the wall, don't let them know we’re here,” Bas stated as he turned his character behind a wall and peeked to the center. Maxky stands behind the couch where Bas sits, silently watching him. As someone who plays with Bas almost every day, he knows exactly what Bas’s next move will be. He would wait, letting a teammate scout the area first. Once the coast was clear, Bas — holding the bomb — would slip in and plant it.
Maxky couldn’t help but chuckle every time Bas shouted with excitement or groaned in frustration. How adorable, he thought. Bas could be a bit toxic when playing games, and that was when Maxky would step in, gently scolding or giving him a quiet warning. As soon as the round ended, Maxky moved closer, calling out to him.
“Bas?”
“Yes, phi?” Bas turned his shoulder and looked up at the source of the voice — the voice of someone he loved dearly. He smiled as he set his joystick down and took off his headphones. Maxky gently caressed Bas’s hair before leaning down to kiss his forehead.
“Do you have time today?”
“Sure! I don’t have work today.” He smiled shyly, still not entirely used to Maxky’s affection. Maxky had always been affectionate, even when they were just friends. But after three years of being together, even the smallest gestures from Maxky still made Bas’s heart flutter. Maxky sat next to Bas, noticing his pink ears, and couldn’t resist teasing him.
“Are you still shy? Where’s the cheeky guy who’s bold and would banter with me go?”
“I’m still the same phi! It’s just that after all this, things will be a little different,” Bas pouted as he leaned on Maxky’s shoulder. That’s right — their wedding day was just a few months away. After many heartfelt conversations with each other and their families, they decided to take the next step and get married. Both families wholeheartedly supported their decision and had already thrown themselves into the preparations. Maxky and Bas had chosen a traditional wedding ceremony, followed by a Western-style after-party with a DJ and music. Maxky’s phone suddenly buzzing in his pocket, he picked up his phone and His mother’s contact show up. He picked up her call and put it on speaker.
“Yes, mae? why are you up so early? its just 4 in the morning there right?”
“its almost 5 luk, mae just woke up”
“Good morning mae” Bas greets Maxky’s mother sweetly
“Oh? Good morning bas. Have you eat, dear? Its already in the afternoon there”
“Not yet mae, I’m- waiting for phi max ehe-” Maxky tilt his head slightly as he looked at bas who’s apparently throwing him under the bus
“wait for him? No, dear. You should’ve eaten first, oh my max! How could you let nong wait for you?”
“Its not like that mae, Max just came home from morning schedule-”
“Did you bring something for nong?”
“No- but i’m just about to take him out-”
“is that true Bas?”
“well- he did ask about my schedule today so, I guess that's true?” Bas giggles slightly, enjoying maxky getting scolded
“Take nong to a good restaurant okay, max?”
“Yes mae” Maxky look at bas with smoldering eyes, Bas’s smile disappeared and he turned his head, avoiding Maxky’s stare.
“Oh, right! Mae just booked a ticket to Thailand. I think its a month before the wedding date”
“huh? mae didn't I tell you to tell me so I can pay for it?”
“Its alright, I don't need my son who’s about to hold a wedding to pay for another thing. Beside, mae has money too you know. Dont you remember who’s raising you?” Her playful tone makes maxky and bas laughs
“I can't wait to meet you again, Mae. It's been a long while,” Bas said as he hugged Maxky's arm.
“i miss you too bas, take care of maxky okay? i’ll call you two again later. Love you both so much! jubjub”
“love you too mae” Maxky let his mother close the call before he put his phone away and turn his head to bas.
“So what do you mean by waiting for me hm?” with a sly, knowing tone on his voice makes bas slowly release maxky arm and move back. Maxky quickly catch bas’s arm and pull him to his lap.
“wha- what is this? are you still playing Johan or what? its been years already” Bas’s face flustered as he tried to slide down from Maxky’s lap.
“Yes, and Johan will punish his beloved North, who’s just lied,” Maxky smirked, wrapping his arms around Bas’s waist and holding him tighter.
“B-but I don't lie! I’m seriously waiting for you so we can eat together!” Bas’s face warmed, and his ears turned red as he tried to distance himself from Max.
“I know you would continue playing games until you truly feel hungry, that's your bad habit, Teerak.” Bas knew the moment maxky started calling him with pet names, there was something else behind it.
“How should I punish a liar?” Maxky imitates Johan’s lines and does exactly the same — which is kissing Bas. Maxky grab bas’s neck, guiding him closer as he capture bas’s lower lip. He sucks on bas’s lower lip and softly nibbles on it, his arms pulls bas closer setting bas on his lap perfectly. Bas could feel his heart pounding in his chest, each beat echoing in his ears. The butterflies in his stomach flitted wildly, he parted his lips, letting Maxky’s tongue in. Soft moans from Bas make maxky heighten the intensity of their kisses. Bas wraps his arms around Maxky’s neck and presses his body against Maxky’s chest. Their tongues interwined, making stifled moans from their kisses, Bas tried to dominate Maxky, but his drive to do so faltered when he felt Maxky’s hand under his shirt, pressing against Bas’s bare skin with a firm, possessive touch. Maxky pulled their kiss slowly, sharing soft, lingering kisses before parting.
“Let’s stop here… before we get carried away,” he said, resting his forehead on Bas’s while still trying to catch his breath. Bas nodded in response, still clinging to Maxky. Throughout their relationship, they never do the deed all the way, they did help each other to release their needs but that's it. They commit to do it after their marriage and they want it to make it special, even though sometimes its not enough they try their best to hold it. Bas smiled softly, pressed a gentle kiss to Maxky’s lips, and whispered between shallow breaths,
‘‘I love you, Phi’’ Maxky responded by planting soft kisses across Bas’s face.
“I love you the most. Let’s get something to eat; I’ve already got my dessert, but I need some real food too,” Maxky said, and Bas, shyly, smacked his arm, fully aware of the meaning behind his words. Maxky let out a heartfelt laugh before helping Bas slide off his lap.
They headed to an upscale restaurant, where most celebrities bring their lover. Its a safe place for celebrities because the waiter and waitress had signed a contract that whatever happens in that restaurant will not be discussed outside the premises. Maxky and Bas's relationship is like a public secret, but only among fans, they never really announce it officially. The reason? Public expectations and media scrutiny are part of the equation — fans might understand, but beyond that, things get murky. Both companies have advised them to keep things quiet (though that hasn’t gone entirely to plan) until they’re ready to go public officially. After lunch, they decided to drop by the tailor shop recommended by Bas’s mae to check on the wedding suit.
“Good afternoon. Welcome to our shop! May I help you?” The young man on the front counter greets them.
“We’re here to meet with- Khun Praset. Is he here right now?”
“Yes! he’s in the back. Should I call him?”
“Yes, please, and tell him it's Pa (aunt) Malee’s cousin. Thank you!”
“Alright, let me call him. You can take a seat while waiting.” The young man smiled before walking to the door with “Staff Only” written on the door.
“Your aunt ordered something from here?” Maxky asked as he took a seat next to Bas.
“Yes, for her son’s wedding. She said he’s quite old but friendly. When she told them that we’re planning to get married, they immediately recommend this shop for our wedding suit,” Bas answered as he looked around the shop. Mannequins with premade suits are displayed in different colors and different designs. One particular suit catches Bas’s eyes, and he gets up and walks directly towards that mannequin. He stared closely at the suit, then shifted his gaze between the suit and his boyfriend.
“Bas?” Maxky, looking at Bas confused.
“i think this suit fits you so much Phi” he nodded in a serious tone. Maxky can't help but smile, adoring Bas’s expression. He gets up and moves closer to bas.
“You think so?” Maxky asked. “I think it will look great on you, too.”
“I know, I look good in anything,” Bas replied with a grin. Just then, an older man appeared, with a younger man following closely behind.
“sawasdee krub” Maxky and Bas greets the older man.
“sawasdee, sawasdee” the older man returned their greeting with a warm smile. “ Khun hassanat? Khun Malee already told me about you. Is this your soon to be husband?”
“Just Bas is fine, Khun Praset. And yes, this is Phi Maxky,” Bas said with a polite smile. Khun Praset returned the smile and gave a small nod.
“Let’s discuss this in my workspace,” he said, gesturing toward the door.
He led them over and opened it, allowing the two of them to step inside.
“Do you have any design in mind?” asked Khun Praset as he walked to his desk and picked up a lookbook before he handed it to Maxky and Bas.” Maxky picked up the lookbook and opened it, scanning through each design.
“I really liked that dark blue suit we saw earlier — or something similar to it. What about you, Phi?” Bas asked as he looked over Maxky’s shoulder.
“I liked it too, Maybe we can pick up a few designs and discuss them later?. What do you think?”Bas nodded, a smile tugging at his lips.Maxky and Bas spent the entire afternoon discussing their wedding attire, from their suits to their families.
“We apologize for taking up your time, Khun Praset. We’ll come back once we have the final design,” Maxky said as they exited Khun Praset’s workspace.
“It’s no trouble at all. I’m happy to help,” Khun Praset smiled warmly. They thank Khun Praset and head out to their car.
“Bas, for dinner, do you want to order takeout or eat in a restaurant?” Maxky asked as he unlocked the car and opened the passenger door.
“Let’s order takeout, Phi. I’m too tired,” Bas sighed softly as he entered the car. Maxky closed the door behind him and got in from the other side.
“Its fun, but I don't know it’ll take that long. So many choices” Bas leans back to his seat before he put his seatbelt on.
“Right? I didn’t expect that either,” Maxky said, turning the car on and backing out of the shop. They drove to a small restaurant near Maxky’s house and ordered a variety of dishes.
“we’re home~!” Bas flops down on Maxky’s couch, greeted by Maxky’s cat. “Poo-at~” Bas lifted Poo-at and put it on his chest. “ How are you today? Did you have a good day?” He caresses the cat’s head. Maxky couldn’t help but watch them with a smile, bas playing with his pets is the most adorable thing in the world.
“Bas, lets eat first,” Maxky called as he took out the food and set it on plates.
“Yes, phi~” Bas gently put the cat down before lazily getting up and walking toward Maxky. He shuffled closer and wrapped his arms around Maxky’s, clinging to him. Another of Bas’s habits that maxky loves is that when Bas is exhausted, he becomes clingy.
“You’re not going to help me?” Maxky glanced at his boyfriend. Bas shook his head and leaned on Maxky’s shoulder.
“Will we be able to eat at this point?” Maxky chuckles, adoring Bas’s clingy behaviour.
“Cant we just eat like this phi?” Bas glanced up at maxky. Maxky laughed softly before planting a kiss on Bas’s cheek, driven by a burst of cute aggression.
“We can't, Bas. Let's sit down and eat properly, okay? and then take a shower before going to bed.” Bas nodded lazily and took a seat in a nearby chair. Maxky sat next to Bas and helped him with his food.
“Do you have a schedule tomorrow, Phi?”
“I think I have an event in the afternoon and then tiktok Live with Inn in the evening”
“Is it a new launch?” Bas asked before he scooped his food and took a bite.
“I think? he hasn't give me the details yet”
They chatted through the rest of their meal, and Maxky suggested playing rock-paper-scissors to decide who would wash the dishes. Bas, who proudly boasted about how good he was at the game, ended up losing. While Bas washed the dishes, Maxky kept poking his cheek, clearly enjoying himself. Bas glanced at him as he set the last clean plate aside. Then, with his hands still wet, he wiped them on Maxky’s shirt and dashed out of the kitchen, laughing all the way to their bedroom.
“BAS!” Maxky laughed, chasing after him.
“Don’t come at me!” Bas yelled as he rushed into their bedroom and locked the door behind him.
“Bas, open the door,” Maxky said, knocking gently.
“No.”
Maxky shook his head with a smile and started pleading dramatically. After a moment, the door finally creaked open, revealing Bas trying (and failing) to hide his grin. Maxky and Bas spent the rest of the night playing games until they were both exhausted. They took turns showering before getting ready for bed. Maxky turned off the lamp and lay down next to Bas.
“Good night, Bas,” he said, shifting closer to wrap his arms around Bas’s waist and pulling him in.
“Good night, Phi,” Bas whispered, leaning up to kiss Maxky’s lips before resting his head on Maxky’s shoulder.
