Work Text:
Midoriya Hisashi was a simple man. White curly hair and piercing red eyes. He owned a successful business and supported many daughter companies. He had a wife, the most beautiful women he ever laid his eyes on, and a wonderful son he would gladly destroy the world for if asked. Hisashi made sure that his family always had the best of the best like a good husband and father would.
Yes. Midoriya Hisashi, Shigaraki Hisashi if we went by his alias, was a simple man. Ruler of the underworld, self-proclaimed demon king, and the most feared villain of the century. All For One was the one to give orders, he was the one everyone listened to, and he wasn’t one to follow any orders given by others. He was the mastermind, the cunning villain no one could beat. He was in control.
Unless when it came to his wife.
“Honey, can you please get the groceries for dinner?” Inko called from the kitchen as she stood in front of the fridge. “I will write you a list, so you don’t forget anything again. Especially the eggs. They are the most important part.”
Hisashi huffed and knelt to pick up his son, Izuku, who was holding his arms up in his direction. He was already five, but Izuku loved to be carried around by his big and strong father still. He walked towards the small kitchen that was connected to the living room, giving his lovely wife a sharp glance. “Inko, my emerald, you know I wouldn’t ever forget anything.”
Izuku giggled at him. “Daddy, you look funny making that face!” Hisashi’s heart melted at the sight, and he completely forgot what he felt so offended by. He moved Izuku in his arms, holding him in one so the other was free to ruffle his fluffy curls. “Oh, do you want to see what other faces Daddy can make?” he grinned sheepishly and was about to put on his villain face he always wore when Izuku asked to play hero and villains with him. Hisashi loved to play the villain part and Izuku was the hero that got to defeat him. Of course, Hisashi was never going to be defeated by any hero but his little Izuku, he was the only worthy opponent he would ever face after all.
“Yes, make that funny bad guy face again!” Izuku gave him a big smile as he basically vibrated in his arms in anticipation. “Please, Daddy!” And how could Hisashi ever resist his little treasure-
“Oh honey, your dad needs to get the groceries first and then he can play hero and villain with you. Alright?”
Inko came up to the two, face sickening sweet, but Hisashi saw through the mask. “But I want to play with Daddy now.” Izuku’s head fell and Inko was quick to take Izuku from Hisashi. And like the good husband he was, he didn’t stop his wife from getting her will through. “I know, baby, and he will play later with you after he gets his chores done. Talking about chores, did you finish your math homework?”
At that Izuku made a face like a criminal that was caught stealing on camera. He fumbled with his hands as Inko put him down in front of her, hand moving through his curls in a calming manner. “Izuku, you know your homework is important. You want to grow to be as smart as me, right?”
Hisashi huffed and raised his hand, index finger out, to correct her. Because clearly, he was the smarter one between the two, after all he had the criminal underground under his command-
“Of course, Mommy! You’re the smartest in the world after all!” With that Izuku was back to his happy and bubbly self. He grinned as he turned towards the living room and ran. “I’ll do my math now! And then Daddy will play heroes with me!” Hisashi couldn’t help but smile after his little treasure. His little personal sunshine. But as soon as Izuku went to get his work from his room, he turned back to Inko, his smile turning into a playful smirk.
“Inko, dear, you know I am the smarter one when it’s- “
He could have expected Inko not to let him finish. “Smart people do their chores and don’t forget the eggs for the seventh time.” She smiled at him, seeming innocent at first glance. But Hisashi knew that this was an order. “And smart man know that they shouldn’t upset their wife, don’t they?”
Hisashi shuddered at the thought of his upset wife. Not again, he would not let his wife ever feel upset again. He didn’t want to remember the last time she got angry at him. Icey Shivers ran down his back at the memory.
Hisashi was quick to put on the brightest smile he could offer and forgot about his prior thoughts. “Of course, my love.” He leaned down to give Inko a forehead kiss before reaching for her hand and twirling her in his hold. “Now let me go buy the groceries for my lovely wife.”
He got a laugh in return before she turned around to grab something from the kitchen counter. “There you go big guy and be sure to check the dates on the meat and the quality of the eggs.” She handed him a paper on which she listed the groceries. And after looking at the sheer length of that list Hisashi wanted to already be done with it. The things he did for Inko.
All for one was a simple man after all. If Inko asked him for something, he knew better than to disobey her.
Oh, how he loved his wife.

Having Kurogiri to transport him everywhere he wanted to go was a luxury All For One was proud to have. After all he, the one and only demon king, was not one to travel on foot or even with the car on a traffic-filled road. He was better than that. It took his assistant only a moment to open a portal to the big Walmart a few cities next to Musutafu.
It has been opened a few months back as sort of experiment how the American grocery store would be received. Although Walmart already owned the Seiyu chain according to Hisashi’s research. But he suspected that not a lot of people even knew that and because of that an “American” store would be more interesting than another Japanese version of the same store with most of the same products but smaller in size while also scaring off possible tourists or people who moved from English speaking countries to Japan.
Then again… This had been a business strategy for centuries by now, and as fellow businessman Hisashi respected their work. It brought in the money, and they made an increasing profit. It was successful and that meant they did everything right.
This store in specific just always had everything Hisashi needed. Which is why he was trusting this Walmart with his shopping. And by now he knew the aisles blind. If he ever lost his ability to see, he would be more than fine to continue to buy the groceries for Inko. For may she would never need to go through the trouble to do it herself.
Walking through the aisles Hisashi ignored the other customers staring at him. After all who wouldn’t gaze upon such a fine specimen of a man. Standing proudly at 225 centimeters, towering over everybody else with ease. His handsome face and well cared for white curls. He couldn’t help the smirk as he looked at the wall of freezers that stored the meat, knowing the people around him wouldn’t take their eyes off his astounding physics.
“Let’s see…” Hisashi pulled the list Inko gave him again, scanning it from the top till he found the next items that were still not crossed out yet. “Pork, beef, the hero-themed nuggets Izuku loves so much…”
God, Izuku would never forgive him if he ever forgot those.
Hisashi moved his eyes up and down the freezers, checking the price tags and comparing the brands the store offered this time. Only the perfect balance between price and quality would be right for his family. Hisashi of course would have been perfectly able to purchase the expensive brands, the luxury meat as common folks came to refer to it. But Inko hated it. From the packaging to the taste to the exact weighted, little, amount they put in each pack. She was a smart woman after all.
Picking up a pack of beef, he activated one of his quirks. Germ Vision. It allowed him to spot any germs on the surface of objects and food. He took it from a biologist in his younger years, thinking it would be useful to make sure that Yoichi wouldn’t fall even sicker than he already was due to germs on unfit food or similar. And now he would make sure that neither Inko nor Izuku would get any bacteria from the store’s food that could make them even slightly sick.
He was such a caring husband. If only Yoichi would have appreciated his caring efforts, like his wife did.
“Hmm, Inko didn’t note how much she needs.” Hisashi looked back between the pack of beef and the shopping list. “Well, I can always come back for more if it’s not enough.” Smiling he put the beef in his shopping cart and moved on to find the pork. He believed Inko needed it for Katsudon, Izuku’s favorite food. So, it needed to be even more perfect. It was for Izuku to enjoy after all, and his son deserved only the best.
As he stood in front of the right section, he heard a soft voice from his left. “Excuse me sir?”
Hisashi turned to the woman with a polite smile, “Yes? Can I help you?” Hisashi held back the urge to choke the rather short woman. Her hair was short and light brown. She wore a simple pair of jeans and a blue top, her statue made her seem like a shy teenager, but Hisashi knew that she must have been an adult. Green eyes stared back at Hisashi’s red ones. Yet no green eyes could even compare to the magnificent emerald-green that Inko’s eyes held.
Hisashi loved thinking about how much better his wife was than every other woman. But he had other concerns now. For example, the stranger stopping him in his chore. How dare she interrupt his mission to find the perfect food for his wife to cook. She better have a very good reason.
“You are kind of blocking my way. Could you perhaps step aside for a moment I-If it’s okay? Please?”
Hisashi’s eyes sharpened and as he noticed the woman’s intimidated look. Hisashi knew that he could come off a threatening if he wanted to, but that woman was acting like he was going to kill her. And please, Hisashi knew better than to kill someone in public.
“Of course, my apologies.” He gave a small bow in addition, like the gentleman he was, and stepped aside for the woman to open the freezer herself. Without much looking she picked out a pack of chicken fillet from the lower shelf and quickly bowed before vanishing in another aisle.
Hisashi’s eyes followed her for a moment before he went back to concentrate on the very important task to pick out the right and most germ-free pork. No one else bothered him during that, and the continuous stares from costumers astounded by his height were just left ignored. After finding the most suited and clean pork, he made his way further down the aisle, the shopping cart being rolled in front of him like any good citizen would.
He carefully pulled the shopping list out of his pocket and scanned over it. “Izuku’s hero nuggets are in the next aisle, the eggs one after that. I already got the milk and Inko’s favorite coffee beans are out of stock. I’ll have toletthembeimporteddirectlyfrom-theirproductioncenterwhichiseasierformeanywayIalsocangetKurogiritopicktthemupforme-“Hisashi stopped his storm of muttering and put the list back where it came from. “Hero-themed nuggets, here I come.”
By now Hisashi knew exactly where to find them. Which freezer and which exact shelf they sat on. He knew the exact price that hadn’t changed ever since he first got them at this Walmart. Hisashi hummed as he made his way towards his goal, thoughts jumping from a happy smiling Izuku to his cooking wife asking him to taste test and back to Izuku.
That didn’t change as he found the freezer where the frozen nuggets were stored. Neither as he opened the door and knelt to reach for a box. And that’s why he didn’t notice the brown-haired kid reaching for the same box he was attempting to grab.
“Ahh-“ the kid was the first one to shriek back and hold his arms protectively at his front. Hisashi couldn’t help his smile at the sight. The boy had familiar green eyes. Hisashi knew them from somewhere.
“Are you okay, little one?”, Hisashi asked carefully before picking up one box of the nuggets. There were plenty enough so he wasn’t worried that he would have to fight for them. And In case he would have to, he would easily succeed in getting them for his son no matter what.
Obviously. Who were two civilians compared to the boogeyman of the underground himself?
The kid looked scared, probably shy and not comfortable with strangers. In a way it reminded him of Izuku. He also grew shy when strangers first talked to him, of course Hisashi always made sure they meant no harm to his precious son. So, the sight of the little boy now made him smile without much hesitation.
“uhh, yeah I-I’m…okay...”
Hisashi continued to smile at the kid, thoughts jumping back to little Izuku. “That’s good. Now you wanted them, right?” He handed the boy the box, which he was quick to grab from Hisashi’s huge hands. Oh, Hisashi really needed to make another one of those hand portraits with Izuku. Seeing the difference of their size always brought tears to Hisashi’s face. Izuku was so small and adorable and just so easy to cuddle.
“Well, now you better get back to your mother, little one.” Hisashi reached out his hand to ruffle his hair. He loved ruffling through Izuku’s hair.
“Than-thanks mister!” The boy bowed, although he looked a bit uncomfortable. It reminded him of Izuku as he first talked to Kurogiri. He was so careful and shy. Hisashi let out a little laugh. “Oh, little one, you know you can call me daddy, just like you always do-“
“Excuse me! Get away from my son you freak!”
Suddenly the boy was pulled back and something hit Hisashi on his cheek. It stung for a second before his regeneration quirk took care of any bruise that might have been left behind. But unlike his quirk healing him, Hisashi was not as fast in picking up what just had happened.
“What?” Did this woman just slap him? Did someone just slap All For One in public?
“What did you think you were doing, asking him to call you that?! HUH!?”
Hisashi looked up at the hysteric woman. It was the same green-eyed woman he bumped into not much before. She looked furious and ready to murder Hisashi. He would know that look after all. But he was confused as to what she was talking about. He was just reminding his little Izuku that he could call him-
OH.
Oh.
Hisashi’s eyes widened in realization, and he was quick to stand up from his knelt position. “Miss, I apologize I didn’t mean to say that to your son. It was a simple misunderstanding- “
“I heard you loud and clear. You told him he could call you- “She stopped, cheeks growing red as she, and Hisashi at that moment too, noticed the stares they received. “You know exactly what you said. Do you ask every kid to call you that? What is wrong with you?!” She hissed, obviously trying not to be too loud and stir up an audience.
She continued to shield her kid behind her thin body, one hand constantly on her son’s head keeping him in place. “I should call security right now!”
Hisashi faked a cough and let out a deep breath. That woman had everything wrong, he wasn’t that kind of person! Hisashi could sense the people around them. Most of them just continued their shopping while a few curious customers still eyed their situation. He couldn’t afford to get security called on him. What if they called the police too? He made sure to have a clean record all this time, to keep his family safe. He needed to calm that woman down-
“Miss, I deeply apologize. I am afraid I got lost in thoughts about my own little son that I forgot where and with who I was- “Hisashi did not get to finish. Couldn’t this annoying woman listen to him for once?
“If you have a kid on your own you should know to be careful when talking to children in public! That was not appropriate” The woman stood firm and if the situation wasn’t what it was, Hisashi would have applauded her standing strong, and not as intimidated as before, for her kid. It was what a good parent would do.
“Yes, Miss, I understand and apologize again.” Hisashi needed more, more to calm her down- he thought back to the first meeting they had. A smile forming on his lips. That was it.
“May I pay for your Groceries as proper apology?”
The woman was taken back by his offer. Understandable if Hisashi translated his prior observations about the woman right. Most people knew that the cheapest products are put on the lowest shelf so that the expensive brands would be placed right on the eye level for the customers, giving them more appeal and upping the chance of them being bought rather than the cheap ones.
So, if Hisashi was right with his assumption, which he knew he was, after all he was one of the smartest man alive, then this woman was not the most wealthy, and could need any help when it came to saving money.
“I- why would you- “The woman clenched one of her hands in front of her chest, clearly there was also a certain level of discomfort. Hisashi felt validated that his little theory was exactly right. And if he would now just let his undeniable charm and persuasion skill do his work, he would get just fine out of the situation.
“Miss, please, It’s the least thing I can do to make up for the horrible behavior I showed towards you and not to forget your son. I do not ask for you to forgive me, but I insist that you accept that attempt at making things right.” Hisashi bowed in addition, hiding the smirk on his face from the outside world to see.
The woman was visible torn. Probably between the option to escape the situation herself or take Hisashi up on the generous offer.
Hisashi knew the outcome.

“And that’s how I saved the day after for that poor woman after an unfortunate misunderstanding.” Hisashi stood proud as he retold the story soon after he got back home after his eventful trip at Walmart. Although Inko did not believe him when he said that he stepped in as a mother and son duo got into an argument with a stranger.
Inko just knew that Hisashi stirred up the trouble, even if it was an accident.
Izuku stared at his father in awe, jumping up and then and asking for his father to teach him about his “charms”. Inko let out a sigh. She supposed that having Izuku learn how to get better at handling such social interactions, even at his age, was not terrible. But at the same time, knowing her villain husband, he would slip one or two manipulation strategies in his lessons.
Inko frowned but that turned into a smile soon enough. Well, not like Hisashi would never teach Izuku how to use his charms to get what he wants. Inko knew that Izuku learned from Him how to beg for sweets after dinner, using his adorable face to win her heart over. She couldn’t help but chuckle at the memory.
At least she knew that Hisashi wouldn’t ever force Izuku to follow him in his footsteps as a terrifying villain. Hisashi was very obvious when it came to him supporting whatever dream their son had. Hence why he allowed Izuku to even have hero merch, specifically the All Might figure he got for his fourth birthday. Not only was it a collector’s item and cost a fortune, but he also paid for it with his own savings instead of their shared bank account.
He did manage to convince Izuku to focus on other heroes aside from All Might too, clearly trying to get at least some of Izuku’s fondness of his father’s nemesis to decrease, but she doubted that Izuku would never not like All Might the most. Hisashi always thought that All Might was just a phase, but she believed it would take longer for Izuku to treat All Might somewhat normal.
If anything, it showed her much of a good father Hisashi was. He may be a super villain, but he cared for them and loved them more than he did his villain work.
He was so careful to not get in any situation with heroes or the police. Just to keep them both safe from his dangerous and secret life. Well, it was not as secret as Hisashi believed it to be. For Inko it was not much of a secret anyway. If you sleep in the same bed as the man, you will hear him sleep talking about either beheading All Might or destroying the world if anything happened to Izuku, murdering everyone in cold blood before ending himself.
Admittedly, his dreams from what she heard out of him, seemed rather violent most of the time. But she knew that he wouldn’t hurt them any day.
He occasionally dreamed about a brother of his too, but Inko came to understand that if Hisashi wanted her to know, or at that felt ready to share, then he would. She supposed it was the same about him being a villain in secret.
“Well at the least you paid those woman’s groceries out of your pocket.” With an eye roll she muttered to herself. “It was your mistake to begin with after all.” Inko glanced back at her husband from the kitchen counter. As soon as Hisashi came back with the groceries, she started to prepare the food.
“Oh, of course, dear. What do you think?” Hisashi shook his head in a disappointed manner, “Why would you ever think of me otherwise.”
With that said he went back to focus on Izuku, who in the meantime had grabbed some of his hero figurines from his room. Hisashi did want to play hero with him after all. And the super villain visibly had fun while doing so. Inko smiled at them before turning back to her cooking. She had already cut the vegetables, and the noodles already were boiling in the pot. Now she needed to prepare the meat and fry it after.
She already had the flour ready and only needed two egg yolks now. She reached into the first shopping back searching for the cardboard box. She halted as her hand found nothing of that sort, nor her eyes as she looked inside the bag. “Did he-“No, Hisashi promised to not forget them this time. She trusted him. “I am probably looking in the wrong bag- “
Nope, this one had no eggs either.
Inko could not help the laugh that escaped her.
Hisashi forgot the eggs again. So much for saying he was oh so smart and would never forget anything.
Looking back at her husband and son playing, with Izuku sitting on his father and pretending to hit him with the All Might figurine, calling out one of All Might’s famous punch lines, she couldn’t bring herself to scold the villain about the missing eggs.
“He will never change, will he.” She chuckled again as he pulled out her phone, texting Mitsuki that she would need to borrow some eggs from her. Again.
Well, at least Izuku had his fun “beating” up his father as a hero.
And with that everything was right with the world. Wasn’t it?
