June 25th 2023, Shirokane Residence, 1000 hours (10:00 am):
Rinko’s hand were steady as she threaded the needle through the fabric, attaching the decorative piece to the dress. Her girlfriend Ai walks in on her, watching the Roselia keyboardist finishing off her commission from a certain half of Creation Stars.
“Rinko, is that Chihaya’s wedding dress?” asked the blonde gyaru. On her wrist is her 39mm black and orange Laco Scorpion Mojave (optioned with the Premium (Top) grade Sellita SW200-1, but still with inner anti-reflective coating as standard) on the 20mm black Crown & Buckle standard NATO strap with an orange center stripe, while her girlfriend is sporting her grey Damasko DS30 (with inner anti-reflective coating) with the 20mm grey CWC single layer pass-through ribbed nylon G10 strap with brushed silver-toned hardware.
“Yeah, Ai-chan, it is,” Rinko replied; “Chihaya’s coming over here to retrieve it.”
Rinko have been working on this since Chihaya from Namco Pro commission her a custom-made wedding dress, and the blue-haired vocal queen even once came over to let the keyboardist measure her three sizes. One thing she did noticed about her was that her bust is visibly flatter than her own or even Ai-chan’s.
“Nana told me that she and Stan collaborate on a project.” Ai said to her girlfriend.
“Of course, Yukina told me about that too. She and Nana are friends with him.” Rinko replied as she was done with the dress; “And her voice is quite beautiful, isn’t it?”
“Yeah~” Ai smiled as she scratched her neck. However, the chatting between the two girlfriends was cut short, as they could hear the sound of the doorbell rang through the house. Rinko rushed towards the monitor hooked up to the door camera to see who was at the entry, and it was indeed none other than Chihaya Kisaragi. She is sporting a ponytail today, and on her wrist is her blue monoblock titanium Citizen Promaster Tough ‘Ray Mears’ (ref. BN0118-12L; not available outside of the UK and/or European Union, but she bought the piece via the Czech retailer Helveti, who does stock up this model and ship abroad) with the 20mm navy blue Crown & Buckle standard NATO strap.
“Ai-chan, Chihaya’s here~” Rinko smiled shyly as she scratched the back of her neck.
“Whatever, Rinko, she can’t wait for us, alright?” asked Ai. Her girlfriend nodded back, before they went down to the door to meet the blue-haired girl.
“Hi Chihaya~” Rinko greeted her with a faint smile, both her and Ai taken aback by the girl’s ponytail.
“Hello, Rinko-san and Miyashita-san~” Chihaya smiled back at the couple as she took her shoes off and stepped inside the Shirokane residence; “I’m here to get my wedding dress.”
“Oh, Rinko’s done with it…” Ai interjected; “Also, seems like you have been improving yourself since having Kyle as your therapist.”
“You’re welcome, Miyashita-san.” Chihaya gently replied; “And yes, you’re right about that. Stan introduced me to him.” it took her a while to not confuse the blonde gyaru with one of Ryo’s Dearly Stars groupmate, that being Ai Hidaka, daughter of former idol Mai Hidaka from Bandai’s now-defunct talent and music division (which has been a part of Namco Production since about 2013, and before that, it was a separate institution under the Bandai Namco umbrella when Ryo was part of Dearly Stars; coincidentally, Chihaya’s collaborator Stan Marsh would pop the question to his longtime girlfriend Wendy Testaburger in October of that year on his 25th birthday, but that’s an insane story with a happy ending for another time).
“Sayo told me that she and Tsugumi reached out to him for help with their relationship too.” Rinko explained; “And in case you’re wondering, they have a healthy relationship, and so is Yukina and Nana’s.”
“Yeah, I met them before many times, and they’re also close friends with Stan.” Chihaya replied.
“So what have you and him work on recently?” asked Ai; “You know, the whole Creation Stars project?”
“Well, Miyashita-san, it’s a mashup album, and there’s one track in it that combines both Me ga Au Toki and Buckner & Garcia’s Pac-Man Fever. Stan’s working on the tune of it.” Chihaya explained; “Anyways, I want to see my dress.”
“Oh…right, your wedding dress…no problem~” Rinko scratched the back of her neck.
“You wanna have lunch at my parents’ restaurant after this, Chihaya?” asked Ai.
“Thanks for that, Miyashita-san~” Chihaya shyly smiled.
Chihaya walked through the mess that is Rinko and Ai’s room, which is like the hallway she stepped on moments before, but messier by the factor of ten, a stark contrast to the Takatsuki house after Yayoi used some of what she earned working at Namco Pro to upgrade her house (and one that she moved into from her old apartment). The vocal queen has to wonder how many unfinished customer orders Rinko must have for the room to be this messy.
But all of that didn’t matter now as she laid her eyes on a mannequin hoisting what she commissioned Rinko to make. A satin wedding dress with a light blue hue at the top that gradually fades into a much deeper royal blue at the train part, a simple A-line shape framed the style of the wide skirt, which flares out a lot more than normal; there’s nothing that adorns it aside from a decorative piece at the part between the top and the skirt, along with with an illusion neckline that held the thing up.
“Wow…” Chihaya quietly uttered, stunned by what Rinko was able to create.
“Do you like it, Chihaya?...” Rinko simply asked, anxious about the vocal queen’s response.
But all of the worst thought she and Ai have in their minds were thrown out of the window when Chihaya turned to them and crack a bright smile; “I don’t think like is enough to describe what I’m feeling now…” she said.
“Chihaya, you mean…” Ai nervously interjected.
“Yes, Miyashita-san, it’s exactly what you’re thinking…I love it!” Chihaya yelled out in joy, prompting the couple to breathe out a sigh of relief.
“Thank you, Chihaya~” Rinko smiled as she let out a tear of joy.
“You’re welcome, Rinko~” Chihaya replied; “Wanna help me put this on?” she asked. Rinko and Ai nodded back.
“But I’m gonna have to pay you out first.” Chihaya whipped out a wallet from her purse.
“That will be ¥107200~” Ai smiled as she saw Chihaya took out that exact amount of cash and handed it to the blonde gyaru, before she handed it to Rinko.
“Geez, the Yen is a bit weak nowadays, isn’t it?” Rinko quipped as she count the cash.
“Yeah, Rinko~” Chihaya chuckled; she didn’t laugh out loud, as there’s a grain of truth about that. The black-haired Roselia keyboardist and her blonde gyaru girlfriend took Chihaya’s bridal gown off the mannequin and help the vocal queen get into it, but not before the latter took off her shirt and kept her pants on.
It was plain sailing as Chihaya slipped into it rather easily, but a little help from Rinko and Ai doesn’t hurt either. After zipping it up, it’s now on her slender body, and she was going to be honest: it looked amazing when she wore it on.
“I’m so gorgeous in this dress~” Chihaya murmured. Rinko and Ai hung her shirt on a hook, as she twirled around, full of class and elegance in that gown; “It’s sad that Yu didn’t live to see me wearing it…” she sadly said.
“I know…you still miss your little brother.” Rinko pat on her left shoulder; “Kyle did quite the good work with you, didn’t he?”
“Yes, Rinko. I still get depressed from time to time, but Kyle help me get past my old wounds.” Chihaya explained; “Still, it would be amazing to see him standing here, stunned by this dress I put on.”
“I think he would be amazed looking you from above, you know?” Ai interjected, patting on Chihaya’s right shoulder.
“Yeah, Miyashita-san, but definitely not in an incestuous way, for sure, not like Kyosuke from Oreimo.” Chihaya replied; “Oh, and I just realized that Japan’s gene pool is quite fucked up now with all the incest shit in the past, and there’s still some reported cases today. At least Yayoi doesn’t have that kind of shit in her mind.”
“You wanna hug?” asked Rinko. Chihaya nodded in return. She wrapped her arms around Chihaya’s waist, facing her and touching her forehead, as Ai wrapped her two arms around that same waist from behind, the vocal queen feeling the breath of Rinko’s blonde gyaru girlfriend.
“Thanks, Rinko-san and Miyashita-san~” she replied to them, feeling a little bit of joy in her; “I’m definitely ain’t feeling as blue as the alien in that Eiffel 65 song. Think it’s called Blue (Da Ba Dee).”
“You’re welcome, Chihaya~” the Shirokane-Miyashita couple said in unison, making the vocal queen crack a soft smile.
After hugging for quite a while, they separated and kept a certain distance; “Okay, I’m supposed to remove this dress when it’s lunch time, cause Miyashita-san’s parents has a restaurant, and I agreed that you two and myself would eat lunch there.”
“Yeah, Chihaya, you’re right…” Ai scratched the back of her neck.
“There’s still about thirty minutes left, so why don’t we have fun?” asked Rinko; “Also, you did mention about that Eiffel 65 song…You want me to play it? I know you’re into classical music…”
“Sure, why not? It’s not like I only listen to classical music all the time, and I’m into photography too. Also, that ‘da ba dee’ hook is hella catchy!” Chihaya answered with joy. Rinko proceed to play that memetic song.
Monja Miyashita, 1115 hour (11:15 am):
Chihaya sat next to Rinko as Ai brought their lunch out for the trio. Chihaya has changed back into her normal clothing, though she would still bring that wedding dress back, as Rinko made it for her.
“Wonder what Gordon Ramsay would react if he came and inspect this place…” Chihaya quipped.
“Yeah, I know, but at least this place’s clean. As for the food, it’s more about the personal taste.” Ai replied back.
“About that, Chihaya, Yukina and Nana met him when he stopped by Hazawa Café.” Rinko interjected.
“I know about that, Rinko.” Chihaya talked back; “Ritsuko was accompanying him when that occur, and she told me about it afterwards.”
“But you knew Kyle before that, right?” asked Rinko.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Chihaya answered; “Again, Stan introduced him to me, and he and Kyle are childhood friends, kind of like your two bandmates Yukina and Lisa.” she quipped.
“And so is Ayumu and Yu too.” Ai playfully answered, before realizing that Chihaya’s late little brother has the same name as her classmate; “Hold up, your dead lil brother has the same name…”
“Only when Romanized, though. Kind of like the case with Akio Asakura from that Wangan Midnight manga.” Chihaya explained; “In any case, I call her Takasaki-san because of this, and for similar reasons, so is her girlfriend Toyama-san. Yes, Yayoi and I are friends of those two.”
“Toyama-san…you meant Kasumi of Poppin’Party, right?” asked Rinko.
“Yeah, and also, Yayoi has a younger sister, also named Kasumi.” Chihaya answered; “And Miyashita-san, your given name is the same as Hidaka-san, right?”
“Yeah…” Ai shyly replied; “I remember you struggling to not confuse me with that girl from Dearly Stars when we first met.” she was right, it took a while for the vocal queen not to confuse the blonde Ai Miyashita with the brunette Ai Hidaka.
“Anyways, should we eat now? It wouldn’t taste as good when it is cooled off.” Chihaya asked. The Shirokane-Miyashita couple nodded back at her and started eating.
One thing’s for sure, Chihaya wouldn’t forget today.
