So, Watcher Lore, there are 2 endings, I'll stay with my personal favorite: I call it "Spinning Tops" (I call the other one "Prince", if you know, you know)
In the ST ending, we see an echo Ascend, which although confusing at first, makes sense, I mean the echoes are there to spectate, cursed to be there because they simply couldn't let go (of Life, of what they used to be, of the view they may never see again, of seeking an answer)
That last point is why the Watcher echo ascends, she lets go, she made peace with the fact that the answer she may be looking for doesn't matter, and goes through that white door, moving on, no longer in that waiting room with those others
We know that Downpour DLC is at LEAST is semi-canon, it's more of an AU, much like Watcher probably will end up being (Dimension/Timeline Hopping makes it ambiguous), but I want to act as if it was connected (possible bc again, timeline/dimension hopping) due to the Second Tag
Now for the second tag: Saint
Saint as we know, is trapped in this time loop of snow, forced to live again and again, ascending with and without purpose for the ending for him will never change
What if it was because of the same reason as the Watcher echo, a curiosity to a question that may never be answered "correctly"
Perhaps why FP and Moon told him that he would always come back; he would not accept the simple answer of moving on
They are curious, enough to touch that symbol in his initial intro, enough to ascend the iterators if he hasn't done that in a run, or vice versa if he has
Surely there is an ending to their suffering, by using their powers! OF course! Why would they give them this if not for some grand purpose!
Perhaps it was simply a glitch, a mistake in the process, Void Worms, "divine" as they are, are fellow creatures in an ecosystem at the end of the day, they simply live in the void sea, and as they are creatures, they can be affected by Saint's blast, perhaps they may have made a mistake, maybe Saint was iterator made and baptized into void fluid, or injected with void fluid, and left with a similar fate to the iterators with the ancients, maybe it's this, maybe it's that?
I don't know, RW is vague like that, but I do know this
Saint has powers, from an unknown source, and that Saint is trapped. And this is simply a speculation of how he's trapped, a theory
