Stuck

Summary:

In which Klaus Mikaelson is stuck.

Notes:

Short and sweet, based on the song Stuck by Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Work Text:

Klaus Mikaelson was a great number of things. More commonly, he was the villain, the Original Hybrid, the most powerful creature on the planet...a monster. But apart from that image, that persona he had built up over the centuries, he was other things. A brother. A friend. A bastard. A lover.

Because for all that he was, Klaus Mikaelson was a lover of a great number of things. Of decadence. Of violence and chaos. Of family. And more recently, a lover of a very particular human who had claimed his heart as hers without minimal effort.

Klaus Mikaelson was a great number of things. But currently, he was a bit…stuck.

…..

I've been lost in your eyes all afternoon
The more I drift, the closer I get to you

Carson. She had consumed his every thought, his every action from the moment he laid eyes on her. The depth of her light blue eyes, the emotion and understanding they conveyed, ignited something in him that he thought was no longer there. He found himself getting lost in her eyes often, the particular shade of blue now making a frequent appearance in his paintings. Despite everything he was, despite everything he was capable of being, he found himself drawn to her in a way he had never been drawn to anyone in a thousand years. A part of him had tried fighting that initial attraction, but he found that doing so was pointless…the more he pulled away, the more he felt himself drawn to her, completely captivated.

She's a ghost and the truth, it's impossible, but I love her lies
You make sure I don't find somebody new

Klaus was no stranger when it came to women. He had his fair share of women over the centuries. He had charmed them, told them what they wanted to hear in order to get what he desired. He had broken hearts and consumed them in an instant. In the course of a thousand years, he could count on one hand how many women had consumed him…Aurora. Caroline. Camille.

And yet…

Carson was something else entirely. She was a force of nature, a hurricane that had shaken him and destroyed the very fabric of everything he was and left destruction in her wake. But with that destruction came beauty and opportunity. The opportunity to start over. The opportunity to find peace within himself. The opportunity to find someone who loved him unconditionally.

And her touch itself, the feeling of her skin against his, her lips on his body driving him mad…he was convinced he would never want another. Especially when he was inside of her, the delicious stretch of her around him…he knew that no one would ever compare to her. Not when she was made for him and him alone.

I was lost, and then found inside of a dream
Running 'round in a circle, tryna believe

After everything that had happened to him in the last few years, Klaus had become no stranger to pain, to loss, to heartbreak. But with that, came the belief that things would change - that even he, after a thousand years of being this version of himself, was capable of change. He didn’t know if he believed that entirely…until he found Carson. She gave him a reason to believe that life could be more than pain and torment and rage. That life could more, could be whole. Because that’s exactly what she did…made him whole.

It's the way you move
I knew I would stay with you after just one touch

Klaus was always watching her and was no stranger when it came to the way she moved around the world around her. He had grown incredibly aware of her body language since they met, the little quirks that drove him crazy. The particular bounce in her step and the sway of her hips when he knew she had a song stuck in her head. The way she bit her bottom lip when she was deep in thought or reading a book. The way she always ran her fingers across the Tiffany necklace he bought her a few months into their romance.

But when she had touched him for the first time, the smallest grazing of her fingers against his, the electricity that passed between them was unlike anything he felt in his entire life. Then came their first kiss, the act itself shifting his entire world on its axis. He knew in that moment, he would never crave another, never want to touch or taste anyone who wasn’t her.

The way you move has got me stuck

Klaus Mikaelson was in fact stuck. And he intended to be stuck with Carson. Always and forever.
