Chapter Text

*Splash*

Jin stood stock still in the doorway to the kitchen, water now dripping down his hair and face. The new shirt that Namjoon had just gave him, soaked. The busted water balloon was in pieces on the floor. Hoseok and Taehyung were in a fit of giggles trying to hold each other up. The elder ran a hand over his face before opening his eyes and glaring daggers at the two. The younger two stood up, all laughter stopped. They each pointed at the other.

“It was him!” they said in unison, which made them start laughing again.

Jin stared at them. They were absolutely adorable together, but sadly, they were about to die. He took step forward debating on who to kill first. The younger two looked at each other for a moment in silent conversation before turning and running for their lives, laughing hysterically.

“Ya! Get back here” Jin screamed only making it to the living room before the front door slammed shut. The two boys ran to the stairwell, taking them two at a time. They stopped running only once they were out of the building, where they immediately collapsed out of breath, still in a laughing fit.

“His face!” Taehyung panted. Hoseok nodded.

“We're so dead” the elder stated. The younger just smiled and leaned his head on Hoseok's shoulder, still breathing heavily.

In their eyes, pranking Jin, and every other member of BTS for that matter, never got old. No matter how many times they did it or how many times they were threatened with death or no dinner. All Taehyung had to do was come up with a plan and Hoseok was right there being his partner in crime.

“Yeah, but it'll be a good death. Go out in a blaze of glory with you by my side.” Taehyung replied, a smile on his face. Hoseok smiled shaking his head.

It was little statements like that that confused Hoseok. He could never tell if there was ever any more meaning behind them than just friendship. He wished there was, but had never been brave enough to find out. The elder sighed and ruffled the younger's hair.

“Let's give Jin hyung time to cool off. How about we go get ice cream?”

Taehyung’s head shot up. He had a huge smile on his face, nodding eagerly. Hoseok laughed and stood up, pulling Tae up with him.

The walk to the ice cream vendor wasn't far but they still took their time, enjoying the warm day. When they reached it Hoseok ordered two cones, handing one to Taehyung and paying before leading the younger to an empty bench.

“Thanks hyung” Tae beamed as he started licking his ice cream. Hoseok smiled back, doing the same. They sat in a comfortable silence as they ate. The elder took small glances at the younger, watching him lick away at the cone, tongue darting out to catch what had started to melt.

Ice cream….what the hell was I thinking? Bad Hobi. Stupid Tae and his stupid oral fetish….

The elder kept trying to concentrate on eating his cone but Taehyung was a bit distracting. Thoughts of a better use for that oral fixation running through his head.

Tae caught him staring and raised a brow, tongue paused in mid lick. The blush that formed on Hoseok's cheeks could have given a tomato a run for its money. The elder coughed and quickly averted his eyes, worried the younger would turn into a mind reader at any moment. Tae just shook his head, a hidden smirk forming in the corners or his mouth, and continued to devour his cone, in a not so innocent fashion. Hoseok sighed inwardly, willing his thoughts to behave. He gave up when he heard the younger give out a low moan.

Seriously???

He finished his ice cream in two bites and got up to throw his napkin away.

Bad little Hobi. Stay down. Now’s so not the time.

The elder closed his eyes and took a deep breath willing his now semi hard-on to behave.

An arm encircled his waist nearly making him jump out of his skin.

“You ok hyung? You've been staring at this trash can for a good five minutes.” the younger asked, chin on the elder's shoulder, head cocked to look at him. Hoseok melted into the little embrace. It was a little too intimate with what was going through his head. He'd just deal with his uncooperative thoughts later.  He smiled patting the hand that was resting on his stomach.

“I'm fine Tae, was just thinking. It's been awhile since we all went out as a group. We should go karaokeing tonight.” he randomly suggested, moving out of Taehyungs too warm arms. Taehyung looked thoughtful for a moment before agreeing happily.

“That would be fun! Let's go back and tell Namjoon hyung the plan  so he can get everyone together!” He exclaimed, bouncing up and down. Hoseok smiled at the younger. He has always loved how happy and hyper the younger one was. Always having a smile on his face. Always trying to make everyone around him smile. That huge box smile made his heart flutter, especially when it was aimed at him. It was so easy for him fall in love with Taehyung. The most natural thing in the world, and he had Jin to thank for opening him up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hoseok was sitting on the couch watching Jungkook and Taehyung play a video game. He loved watching Tae play. Loved watching him do anything really. The boy got so immersed and full of laughter. He'd turn around and give the elder a high-five every time he'd beat the maknae. They'd both laugh and cheer as the youngest pouted asking for a rematch.
It was during one of those rematches that Jin appeared out of nowhere.
Jin watched the three for a moment before calling Hoseok over. The rapper nodded, ruffling Taehyung’s hair as he stood and walked over to where Jin was, now sitting in the kitchen.
“Everything ok hyung?” he asked as he took a seat across from the elder. Jin smiled and nodded.
“Everything's great, but I’d like to have a talk with you.” he replied a hint of uncertainty tinting his features. Hoseok nodded, a little apprehensive.
“I don't want to make the same mistakes again. My silence with Yoongi caused everyone a lot of grief. I don't want to see you go through that.” Jin sighed, a somewhat reassuring smile on his face. Hoseok's stomach dropped. In all honesty he knew this was coming. Had heard Jin talking to himself the day after Yoongi and Jimin got together so he was somewhat prepared. The younger smiled.
“I know you know hyung. No need to beat around the bush.” Hoseok stated a hint of a blush tinting his cheeks. Jin sighed in relief.
“Well atleast I can skip that speech” he laughed. “Look, you are more blatantly obvious than either Jimin and Yoongi were. I didn't have to look hard.” Hoseok rubbed the back of his neck shyly.
“Tae is easy to love. Especially for you. It just comes naturally. But be careful. You and I both know how innocent he can be.”
“I know hyung. I'm not trying to make him mine. I just want him to be happy. I'm perfectly fine with the way things are now” Jin just shook his head.
“Yoongi was perfectly fine with settling too and Jimin about took his head off” Jin replied, remembering Jimin's outburst in the alley.
“I know, but I'm not constipated like Yoongi hyung. I know how I feel. I’m not fighting it or trying to suppress it. Yeah, I sometimes wish he’d notice, but hell, I could raise a blinking neon sign saying I love you and Tae would still be Captain Oblivious.” he rolled his eyes but smiled at the image. Jin laughed and nodded.
“True, but I don't think he's as oblivious as a plays.”
Hoseok raised a brow curiously. The elder chuckled.
“Listen, you and Tae are perfect for each other. You two mesh better than most couples. Don't give up and be content with settling. Throw it in his face. Wave that neon sign. I think you'll end up pleasantly surprised.” Jin smiled reaching across the table to squeeze the younger's hand. Hoseok laughed. There was a sudden outburst from the living room.
“Looks like Kookie lost again. Better go save Taehyung from the rabid maknae!” Jin laughed as Hoseok shook his head. “Just remember what I said. And don't wait too long” the elder smiled.
“Thanks hyung” Hoseok replied and left the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It had been a month since their talk. Hoseok had taken Jin's advice and made an effort to lay his feelings out in front of Taehyung. He made no effort to hide it from anyone and still the only person who remained oblivious was Tae. It frustrated him to no end.

The two boys walked into the dorm smiling. They had stopped to get Jin a coffee on the way back to hopefully calm the raging eomma. They walked into the kitchen and placed it on the island.

“I'll go find Namjoon hyung. You deal with Jin eomma” Taehyung said and ran out of the room before the elder could say anything. Hoseok rolled his eyes but gave a fond smile. Tae can be really cute sometimes. He sighed. Better face the beast he thought and grabbed the coffee before heading to Jin's room. He knocked on the door.

“Jin hyung. I brought coffee.” he said as he opened the door. Jin glared at the rapper.

“Oh, you're not getting off that easy, but bring it here” the elder stated. Hoseok smiled and handed him the cup.

“Hyung. I think I'm going to confess tonight.”

Jin perked up, momentarily forgetting his anger.

“Really!? How?” he asked, setting the coffee down and giving the younger his undivided, albeit way too excited attention.

“During karaoke tonight. Oh yeah, we’re all going out for karaoke later.” He replied. “I can’t stand around and do nothing anymore. That kid is driving me crazy with his stupid mouth and random comments and if I get rejected so be it. I’m tired of not knowing what he’s thinking or feeling with his random off the wall statements. Yeah, could ask, but, yeah, have you tried asking that boy serious questions?!” He added frustratingly. “I was kinda hoping I could get your assistance with it.” he asked shyly.

Jin clapped his hands excitedly.

“Leave it to me!” he said happily. “I know exactly what to do” he said and jumped off the bed and hugged the younger. “it'll be perfect and there will be no way he'd misinterpret it!” he added with a sparkling smile.

At that they both got to work on Jin's plan until Namjoon came in telling them it was time to go. All seven boys excitedly piled into the van that Namjoon had called earlier to transport them. Jungkook, Jimin, and Yoongi sat in the back, Hoseok, Taehyung and Namjoon in the center, and Jin in the front passenger seat. The trip was short, but loud, with the maknae line bickering back and forth about the latest sequel to their favorite game. It didn’t help to calm Hoseok’s nerves at all. He was fidgeting in his seat. The van pulled up infront of the building and he took a deep breath to calm himself. They all climbed out, Hoseok and Jin trailing behind, the elder giving the rapper’s hand a quick squeeze for support.

Namjoon led them to the room he had reserved and the maknae line immediately took over the mic’s, choosing BigBang’s Loser to start things off. Hoseok smiled as he watched the younger three belt out their favorite bands song, trying to imitate their favorite member.

It went on like that for about an hour, each member picking a song, doing a duet, or all seven getting into it and making a party of it, dancing and singing at the top of their lungs. It was after their last group song that Jin decided it was time to put his plan into action. He gave a brief nod to the rest of the group and took Taehyung’s mic, asking him to get some more drinks. Once the door shut the rest of the boys got to work. Hoseok was kind of thrown, not knowing that Jin had recruited the rest of the band into his plan. He raised a brow as they all took roses out of the bag in the corner, which Hoseok just now realized was there.

“Jin hyung, what’s happening?” He asked completely confused. Jin just smiled. “Just do your part. We got the rest” he replied, patting the rappers back and moving quickly to place the roses in his hand on the table. The room was now littered with rose petals, a bouquet lying in the middle of the table, held together by a white ribbon. Hoseok was blushing furiously, not expecting what was happening.

“He’s coming” Jimin warned as he peaked out the door. The boys rushed to the front of the room by the screen, Hoseok standing in front with his eyes closed, nerves going haywire.

“Hyung, Fighting!” Jungkook said with a huge smile. Everyone but Hoseok turned around facing the wall, Jin secretly handing them the final touch to his plan. Hoseok pushed play as the door opened.

Taehyung walked in, arms full of drinks. His mouth dropped at the sight before him. Before he could ask what was going on Hoseok began to sing.

“Subaek beon seonggonghanjeok eopsneun gobaek

Jasingami eopsneun na

Should I just go back

Tae fell down on the couch, mouth agape, watching with confusion.

I love you, baby i,

Hosoek, turned around shocked as he heard the boys behind him start singing with him. What he saw had both him and Taehyung laughing. All four boys were singing and swaying back and forth in unison, each holding a lighted sign above their head. Jimin held “Taehyung”. Yoongi held “He”. Jin held “Loves”. Namjoon held “You”. Jin gave a huge smile and winked at Hoseok as the signs started blinking. Hoseok face palmed himself, remembering the conversation he and Jin had.

Hoseok turned back around and continued singing to Taehyung, a huge smile on his face. The younger was smiling brightly back at him, eyes a little watery.

Hoseok walked to the table, and picked up the bouquet. He stepped over in front of Taehyung, kneeling in front of him and handed him the roses. The younger took them happily, completely entranced by Hoseok’s serenade.

I love you, baby i, I love you

(Aju orae jeonbuteo)

I love you, baby i, I love you

Tae dropped the bouquet next to him and flung himself into Hoseok’s arms, knocking him over on his ass. Hoseok dropped the mic and wrapped his arms around the boy. He finished the song, whispering it into Taehyung’s ear.

The elder pulled back slightly to look at Taehyung. They both smiled at each other.

“I love you Tae” he said. The younger continued to smile at him.

“I know. I’ve known for a while. I love you too” he replied. Hoseok mouth dropped in disbelief. “If you weren’t going to say something soon. I was. I didn’t expect all this though, kinda girly isn’t it?” he added looking over at his other members who were smiling fondly at the pair, Jin wiping away an invisible tear, head resting on Namjoon’s shoulder.

Hoseok laughed.

“Honestly, neither did I. This was all Jin’s doing!” The elder admitted tossing a look over to his hyung. Jin just smiled and shrugged.

“Pay back” Jin said nonchalantly. “Think twice before throwing a water balloon in my kitchen and leaving me to clean it up” he added pointing his fingers at the two. “Be happy I didn’t make you dress up in a tux and add the pink lace tablecloth and matching throws like I wanted” he huffed.

The other boys sighed in relief and Hoseok made a face in horror. Yoongi shook his head and walked over to the new couple who were still sitting on the floor. He kneeled down next to them, handing them some cash.

“I called a cab earlier. You two head back to the dorm, we’ll clean up” he said, giving the two a knowing wink. Hoseok blushed as he took the money and Taehyung smiled at his hyung. He got up off the elder and pulled him to his feet.

“Let's go before he changes his mind!” He said. Hoseok rolled his eyes pulling him in for one last hug.

“Kiss him, Kiss, him Kiss him” was chanted from the other side of the room. The two boys laughed.

“Really guys?” Hoseok said, but didn’t get a chance to say anything, or do anything else. Taehyung had grabbed his face in both hands, turning him to look at him, and planted a kiss on his lips. It shocked him at first, but didn’t take him long to reciprocate. They both smiled into the kiss as cheers were heard in the background. Hoseok pulled the younger closer, deepening it, giving the audience a full on makeout scene.

“Oh come on, innocent eyes here!” Jimin said covering Jungkook’s eyes. The two hesitantly pulled apart, beaming at each other, eyes full of love and affection.

“We’ll see you at the dorm” Hoseok said grabbing Taehyung’s hand and running out of the room. He stopped at the door, turned and smiled at Jin. “Thanks hyung” he said. Jin smiled back and nodded.

“Go!” The elder said shooing them out of the room. Hoseok gave another smile before being pulled out by an impatient Taehyung. Jin shook his head.

Jungkook grabbed Jimin’s wrist, pulling his hand away from his face.

“Innocent? Really? Do I honestly need to say how many times I’ve walked in on you and Yoongi hyung in the bathroom and the kitchen?”

“What?!?” Jin yelled. Yoongi glared at the maknae.

“You promised!” Jimin whined before going wide eyed as Jin stalked over to them. Yoongi grabbed Jimin’s wrist, the two running as fast as they could out of the room leaving a fuming Jin, an all too innocent looking Jungkook, who smiled wickedly when the couple turned their back, and Namjoon who was holding Jin back, to clean.
