Chapter 1: BurningCacao: in darkness we make light (day one)

Chapter Text

Dark Cacao cookie POV:

I huff as I draw my sword once more on the battlefield, my breath coming in short, ragged bursts. The weight of exhaustion pulls at my limbs like chains of ice, but I refuse to falter. My grip tightens around my sword hilt as I press forward, striking down yet another corrupted cookie in a blur of motion. Their soulless eyes, devoid of reason, glint with eerie malice, their movements driven by something unnatural—something vile. No matter how many I cut down, more take their place, pouring into the battlefield like a relentless tide, an unending nightmare that gnaws at the edges of my resolve. The clang of metal against tainted dough rings in my ears, a ceaseless symphony of war. Blood—whether mine or my foes—paints the ground beneath me, mingling with the dust and debris of shattered weapons. The battlefield is chaos incarnate, a swirling storm of steel and screams, but I force myself to focus beyond the carnage.

There. At the heart of this massacre. Burning Spice Cookie. A barbarian in the truest sense, his presence is a force of nature—feral, untamed, destruction given form. Fire dances along his massive frame, casting wicked shadows across his scarred dough. He stands at the center of it all, reveling in the ruin he spreads, his laughter a guttural, inhuman thing that grates against my ears. He does not fight for conquest, nor for vengeance. No, his battle is driven purely by chaos, by the thrill of the clash, by the hunger for devastation.

And it sickens me. To my side, Golden Cheese Cookie lunges once more, her form swift yet careless, her golden blade a gleaming arc through the battlefield. She aims for a killing strike, but again, she misses. Her blade slices only air, her enemy already out of reach. I growl under my breath, my patience thinning like brittle ice. "Must you drag this fight out even longer, Golden Cheese?" I hiss, barely sparing her a glance as I bring my blade down upon another foe, cleaving through their corrupted form with a decisive strike. But something is wrong. The battlefield is shifting. The corrupted ones—there is a change in them. Their movements grow faster, more aggressive, as though they sense something. Anticipation? Bloodlust? I do not know. But it sets an unease deep within me, something I have not felt in a long time.

Then— "Dark Cacao! Watch out!" White Lily's voice cleaves through the chaos, sharper than any blade. Urgency, raw and frantic, laces her tone. It is the first time I have heard her scream so loudly, so desperate. "What do you mean?" I turn toward her, confusion flashing in my mind for only a second—until I see him. A monstrous shadow looms. Burning Spice Cookie. His enormous fist is already swinging toward my chest. The realization comes too late. A thunderous force crashes into me. Pain explodes through my body as the impact sends me hurtling backward, my breath ripped away as if stolen by the wind itself. The world tilts, blurs—flashes of battlefield chaos flicker past in a smear of motion. The weight of the barbarian is relentless, pressing into me even as I fly.

He is not merely striking me down. He is driving me away. The wind howls, and before I can regain my footing, my back collides with something unyielding—solid stone. The cavern wall greets me with merciless force, cracks splintering outward from the impact. I barely have time to register the agony before the world collapses around me. Dust. Debris. The groan of breaking rock. The battlefield disappears. The entrance to the cave crumbles in a deafening roar, sealing off any escape. The last flickers of battle—the distant shouts of my allies—fade into silence, snuffed out by the weight of the fallen stone.

I am trapped. And I am not alone. A flickering light remains, casting jagged shadows across the cave walls. The flames licking at Burning Spice’s dough illuminate the chamber with an eerie glow, their embers smoldering like the eyes of a predator. He stands before me, his form looming, his grin stretching wide with unrestrained delight. "Now," he rumbles, cracking his knuckles, the deep, gravelly sound reverberating through the enclosed space. His molten eyes lock onto mine, glinting with anticipation. "No interruptions." I exhale slowly, adjusting my stance despite the dull ache in my muscles. My fingers curl tighter around my sword hilt, the cold steel grounding me in the moment. The walls press in, the cavern is silent but for the crackling of flames and our measured breaths. My heart pounds—not from fear, but from certainty. There is no retreat. No distractions. No allies. Just me. And him. This battle has become personal.

I lunge, swinging my sword with all the force I can muster, but his monstrous hand swats it away with sickening ease. My strikes don’t connect, not a single one. It doesn’t matter. I don’t care about hitting him anymore—I just want out. The cavern feels smaller, the walls pressing in. The darkness here is thick, suffocating. My breath quickens. Too quick. My pulse thunders in my ears, drowning out even the crackling embers of his flames. I need to get out. I need to get out. A deep, rumbling chuckle rolls through the cave. "You’re hyperventilating, little man," Burning Spice mocks, his voice filled with cruel amusement.

His words barely register. My body moves on instinct, desperation taking hold. I launch myself at him again, my sword raised, but—CLANG. A shock of force rips through my arm. My grip fails. My sword—my last defense—is knocked from my hands, clattering uselessly onto the stone floor. The sound rings in my ears like a funeral bell. I am powerless.

Before I can react, his massive hand seizes me, his fingers curling around my armor like a vice. His grip is iron, unshakable, squeezing the air from my lungs. My legs kick, but there is nothing to stand on. I claw at his arm, but he doesn’t even flinch. I can’t move. I can’t breathe.

I can’t fight. I’ll die. I’ll die. I’ll die I’ll die I’ll die I’ll die! The thought claws at my mind, a relentless spiral of terror. My vision blurs. The cave grows darker, his fire burning brighter, as if devouring the last of my strength. My chest tightens. My body betrays me. I cannot move. I cannot think. I cannot—No. NO. I am Dark Cacao Cookie. I am a warrior. I do not fall here. My mind screams, my instincts rage. I force my muscles to move, twisting against his grip, fighting against the darkness creeping into my mind. I am not done yet.

I thrash, trying to break free, but his grip doesn’t falter. My body fights, but my mind spirals—every heartbeat feels like a drum pounding inside my skull. The walls seem closer now, the air tighter, the weight of his palm pressing against my armor making it harder to breathe.

Then—A soft laugh. Not mocking. Not cruel. Just… amused. "Shhhh," Burning Spice hums, his voice lowering to something almost gentle. "You're in the middle of a panic attack." I freeze. My breath still comes in short, erratic gasps, my chest heaving as I struggle for control. Words form in my mind, questions, demands—Why do you care? What are you doing?—but none of them reach my lips. My lungs refuse to work properly.

Burning Spice watches, his expression unreadable, before huffing a hot breath over me. The warmth seeps through my armor, grounding, forcing my senses to focus on something real. I still. My hands, which had been clawing at his grip, lower slightly. He lets out another low chuckle, but this time it lacks its earlier menace. "I'm not such a monster that I’d leave a cookie to harm themselves," he muses.

I glare at him, trying to process his words, but my body is still betraying me—still locked in this storm of panic I cannot control. My fingers twitch against his palm, and yet, he doesn’t tighten his grip. He doesn’t strike. He simply walks, carrying me deeper into the cave as if he has all the time in the world.

The suffocating walls begin to widen, the oppressive darkness giving way to something else. Then, suddenly, the cave opens. A crystalline cove stretches before us, the ceiling shimmering with countless jagged crystals that catch the dim light of the cave’s depths. Pools of still water reflect their glow, making the space feel vast, untouched by the chaos of battle. The air here is cooler, calmer, the sharp scent of minerals replacing the thick scent of blood and fire. Burning Spice exhales, taking in the space, before flashing me a toothy grin.

"We should be able to get out on the other side in three days," he announces, his voice echoing in the cavern. Then, with a dramatic shrug, he adds, "But with rest and breaks? Eh, five. Maybe more than a week." He throws his head back and laughs, the sound rolling through the cove like thunder. I am still in his grasp, still processing the reality of my situation. Trapped. With him. For days.

The first few hours of walking were silent. I remained in his hand, unmoving, my mind still battling with the absurdity of my situation. Burning Spice didn’t speak much either, only grunting now and then, adjusting his grip on me like I was nothing more than a stray bundle of supplies. I refused to acknowledge the strange… calmness in the way he carried me. Eventually, he slowed, stepping into a wider part of the cavern. He stomped his foot a few times against the rocky ground, testing its sturdiness, then nodded in apparent approval. Without warning, he lowered me to the ground, his massive hand finally letting me go. "We will rest here," he huffed, settling down onto the stone floor with the ease of someone completely unbothered by our predicament.

I hesitated, unsure of what to do with myself. I should be fighting. I should be running. But exhaustion clung to me, making my limbs feel heavy. I was wary, but… he hadn’t hurt me since we entered the cave. If he wanted me dead, he would have done it already. "Use your cloak as a blanket," he grunted out, his voice rough but not unkind, before rolling onto his side. His eyes shut without another word, as if I was nothing more than an afterthought. I stood there, stiff, uncertain. Despite everything, he was… helping. He got me stuck in this cave, but now he was also ensuring I got out. The contradiction made my head ache. Slowly, I reached for my cape, undoing the clasp. I stared at it for a long moment, then, before I could think twice about it, I tossed it over him. It barely covered anything. The fabric draped uselessly over his massive shoulder, a comical contrast to his size. It was foolish. A pointless gesture. But it was the gesture that counted.

I turned away, lying down on the hard stone floor and rolling so my back faced him. I forced my eyes shut. For a few moments, nothing happened. Then, a deep chuckle rumbled through the air behind me. A warmth spread along my back—not the heat of the cavern, but something more controlled. Something more… deliberate. I didn’t move, didn’t breathe as I felt my cape being draped over me. Burning Spice had placed it back over me like a blanket. I didn’t know what to think. I didn’t turn to face him. I simply lay there, listening to the slow, even breaths behind me, and let exhaustion finally claim me.  The morning arrived with an empty ache in my stomach and the sound of splashing water. I groggily sat up, blinking at the soft glow of the cave’s crystal formations, only to be met with the sight of Burning Spice Cookie—half-submerged in the lake—thrashing wildly. "WHY DO YOU KEEP RUNNING AWAY?!" he roared, his arms making massive waves as he lunged at the darting, jewel-like forms beneath the water. I squinted. Candy Crystal Jelly-Filled Codfish. A rare delicacy. And apparently, they had a sense of humor, as they swerved out of his reach with effortless ease, their shimmering tails flicking mockingly before disappearing deeper into the lake. I sighed, pushing myself up. "Let me try," I said. Burning Spice turned to me, eyes narrowed, breath heaving from his battle with the elusive fish. He didn’t argue, just huffed and stepped back.

I removed my armor, rolling up my pant legs before stepping into the water. The coolness was refreshing against my skin, a contrast to the heat that radiated from my reluctant companion. With careful movements, I positioned myself, watching the fish’s patterns. They were fast, but predictable. Then, with practiced ease, I struck. One after another, I plucked the fish from the water, catching five large ones in mere minutes. I held them up, letting their crystal-like scales glisten in the cave’s light.

"Four for you, and one for me," I said as I stepped out of the water, shaking off the excess droplets. "I don’t need to eat much." Burning Spice remained uncharacteristically silent. His massive arms crossed, his eyes unreadable as he watched me. Then, after a moment, he simply nodded. No argument, no bragging, no fiery retort.

I took it as approval and set to work. I let the fish cook over a carefully built fire, letting the flames crisp the outer shell while the jelly inside warmed into a molten sweetness. The scent filled the air, mouthwatering even for someone like me who did not often indulge in extravagant meals. Burning Spice accepted his four, eating them slowly. No tearing, no careless devouring—slowly. It was… surprising. I bit into my own, savoring the mix of flavors—the crunch of the candy shell, the burst of sweet jelly within—but something was missing. Something small but important.

"This would be better with some spices," I murmured absentmindedly. Silence. Then— A deep, amused coo. My entire body tensed as I realized what had happened. I said that out loud. I turned my head slowly, only to see Burning Spice grinning at me with that knowing, almost smug expression. "What kind of spices?" he teased, his voice smooth with amusement. I narrowed my eyes. "Forget I said anything." But he only laughed, low and rumbly, as if he had just uncovered something very entertaining.

Burning Spice stood up, stretching lazily as he walked over to me, the embers in his dough flaring slightly with each step. His presence was overwhelming at times, like standing too close to an open flame—not quite enough to burn, but enough to make you sweat. His grin widened, sharp and knowing, his gaze locked onto me with an intensity that made me shift slightly where I sat.

"Try this," he said, his voice taking on a deep, almost playful tone. I blinked, tilting my head slightly in confusion. "What are you—" Before I could finish, he made a deliberate motion, shifting his stance, and suddenly, I felt myself freeze. He moved his pants down a little and pulled out his....very erect, red and throbbing giant cock and started rubbing it "W-what are you doing?!" I stammered, my muscles locking up as I instinctively tensed. Burning Spice merely chuckled, his demeanor as infuriatingly casual as ever. I couldn't look away—couldn’t move—as the situation escalated far beyond what I expected. His movements quickened his face twisting into a gritting look, and suddenly he was way too close. he rubbed faster and pre-cum dripped way to close to me

"I'm going to give you some spices...ah....huff.....ah.." he rumbled, his voice carrying that same teasing amusement, the kind that sent an uncomfortable heat creeping up my neck. Then Burning spice came all over my fish. I sat there, utterly horrified, my mind struggling to process what had just unfolded before me. My mouth opened, but no words came out. My stomach churned, my breath caught in my throat, and yet…"Go on," Burning Spice urged, huffing, a bit winded yet smirking down at me. "Try it." I gulped, hesitating as I stared down at my meal. I shouldn’t. I knew I shouldn’t. But my body moved on its own. I took a bite. And then another. To my absolute shock, the flavor exploded across my tongue in a way that I had never experienced before. It was rich, deep, an unexpected balance of heat and sweetness, the kind of taste that lingered and warmed you from the inside out. I hated to admit it. I hated everything about this moment. But it was… delicious. A small, involuntary sound left me as I ate faster, each bite sending a strange warmth through my body. "Mhmm," I murmured, my mind too overwhelmed to form proper words. I refused to look up at him, refused to see that smug expression I knew he was wearing. But I could hear it. The deep, satisfied chuckle. The heat of his presence looming over me. And I knew, without a doubt, that I would never live this moment down.
