Chapter Text
Morgan Wallen and Post Malone’s song “I Had Some Help” was about to come out and both men were headed to Joshua Tree to film the accompanying music video. Wallen was still jet lagged when he arrived on set, the large coffee he drank a few hours ago struggling to wake him up. Meanwhile, Post seemed to have an unlimited amount of energy, bombarding Morgan with a barrage of friendly small talk as the two men waited for the rest of the cast to arrive.
“Calm down, Post,” Morgan said groggily, trying to hype himself up to start filming the video. Post settled down, smiling at Morgan as the rest of the video’s cast, crew, and director, Chris Villa, arrived on set.
“Hiya, Chris!” Post greeted, barely able to contain his excitement.
“Let’s get this started,” Chris commanded, pointing at both Post and Morgan.
The actual filming of the video took the entire day, with Chris being very particular to even the most minute details. After a stressful but ultimately rewarding day of filming, Morgan and Post decided to get a hotel room for the night. The hotel clerk tried to hide her excitement when she saw the two men, not wanting to draw attention to them or cause a mob to form. They did allow the hotel clerk to take a picture with them since the hotel lobby was empty. Morgan and Post quickly ran to their room after getting their key cards, playfully racing each other down the hallway and laughing as they got to the door.
In their luxury suite, Morgan and Post found their way to the fully stocked bar.
“That was a great shoot, Posty,” Morgan drawled as he poured two glasses of whiskey for the two of them. Post couldn’t help but smile as Morgan remembered a nickname from a few months ago when both of them were drunkenly reciting the lyrics for “I Had Some Help” prior to recording.
Handing one glass to Post, Morgan sat right next to Post. He wanted to rest his head on Post’s shoulder, but hesitated when he saw Post starting to nod off. Morgan decided to shower quickly, only wearing his boxer briefs once he got out. Morgan looked at Post sleeping, thinking that he looked quite cute there against the fridge. Morgan had thought he had some feelings for Post when they were first recording the song, but he quickly stuffed them down. Sure, it was 2024, but -- a gay country star? That could be a career killer for him. Sighing and putting those thoughts aside, Morgan got Post up, got his boots off of him, and laid him in the other bed. Post was half awake when this was happening, barely acknowledging Morgan with a mumbly “thank you”. Morgan grabbed the bottle of whiskey, put it on the nightstand in between the beds, and kept drinking until he eventually passed out.
When Morgan woke up, he was greeted by the bright yellow sun, a ghastly hangover, and the distinct smell of bacon and eggs in the room. Post smiled when he saw Morgan finally getting up.
“Mornin’, Morgy,” Post said, ruffling his hair and trying to shake him awake.
“Did you sleep okay, Posty?” Morgan asked, smiling at the new nickname Post just created for him.
“Yeah, I guess. I was really tired last night,” Post replied, putting an equal amount of food on his and Morgan’s plates. “And I got some breakfast if you want. I heard the food here is actually good,” he continued, pointing to the makeshift bar area. Morgan, who was still in his boxer briefs, got out of bed, and Post stared at his nearly naked body as the boxers left little to the imagination. Morgan noticed Post staring and raised an eyebrow, but trying to maintain his happy demeanor.
“Y’like what ya see?” Morgan asked, purposely exaggerating his southern accent and trying to emphasize the bulge in his boxers. Post didn’t know how to react so he quickly rambled “no, I’m not fucking gay!” and ran into the bathroom.
Morgan sat back down on the bed, trying to make his growing erection go back down.
‘What the fuck is wrong with me?’ Morgan thought to himself as tears formed in his eyes.
Post was in the bathroom, his heart rate increasing as he kept thinking about Morgan’s offer. His mind kept flashing to Morgan’s sexy body and he could feel himself getting hard. He turned the shower on, trying to make it as cold as possible. Stroking his dick as he climbed into the shower, Post increased his speed as he kept thinking about Morgan and imagining what he would do with him if he could. He was in such ecstasy that he could barely feel the cold water as he came on the shower floor, trying to not scream Morgan’s name. Post felt better when he got out of the shower, relieved that he could think clearly and not do something he might regret later.
Morgan ended up crying, too scared about messing up his friendship with Post to worry about anything else. After getting his clothes back on, he took a deep breath before knocking on the bathroom door.
“What?” Post yelled, his rage mixed with a growing sadness and desperation as he got his clothes back on.
“I’m sorry for what I did earlier. I think I’ve just been so pent up lately, and seeing you again brought back all these old feelings. But I just don’t want to fuck up our friendship because I really care about you,” Morgan explained in a more somber than usual tone.
Post exited the bathroom in his regular clothes and gave Morgan a tight hug.
“Was it true what you said before, that you’re not gay?” Morgan asked as they let go of the hug.
“I honestly don’t know at this point,” Post confessed, “but I don’t want to mess things up between us.”
“Okay, I have an idea. How about we go on a little road trip or something? Just the two of us, we don’t have to worry about anyone else or keeping up this straightedge image. We can just be ourselves for once,” Morgan suggested, resting his hand on Post’s shoulder and smiling at him.
“That sounds like a great idea,” Post replied.
The crisis was averted, at least for now.
