Summary:
When We Ying first saw the advert, he thought it was a joke. Someone was looking for a husband and instead of going out to a bar or a nightclub to try and meet someone the old fashioned way, they had crafted a very specific set of requirements and posted it on a notice board in the local laundromat? Hilarious.
But then again…at least it would ensure that the applicants were clean and tidy. Wei Ying laughed at the flyer every week. He almost knew it by heart after a month of it hanging there untouched:
Man seeking man for marriage contract.
Competitive rates paid.
Some overnight stays included.
Must be competent, charming, adaptive, understanding and patient.
Strictly a business arrangement.
No love or sex involved.
