        HER NAME WAS DR THEODORA BLACKWOOD, but everybody just called her Theo. Well, everybody, besides her dear old mother, Amelia, who happened to be just as headstrong as she was—something must be in those genes—therefore didn't matter the number of debates between the two, Theo always stayed Theodora in her mother's eyes. It was just the three of them in the old family house, after the death of Theo's husband in that skydiving accident 5 years ago, which made her leave the BAU.

        THEO KNEW WHAT GRIEF FELT LIKE, she had experienced it first hand in her late 30s, when her father passed away, and now at the age of 44, it was back once again, but this time it felt different. She was aware of her father's illness, which shortened his life by at least 20 years, but Mateo's tragic accident came out of the blue, and she wasn't ready to say goodbye to him just yet. It changed her, just like it changed their daughter, Grace, too. She wasn't just an innocent 12-year-old kid anymore, death showed her what life was really like. Never fair.

        SINCE THEO DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE GRACE ALONE, she chose to use her knowledge in criminal psychology in a less dangerous and less absence requiring way, by teaching in college seminars. After 5 years of normal, everyday life, it was Grace who told Theo to go back to the BAU. She knew her mother didn't want to leave her job behind, and now she wanted her to wear the cloak of 'supermom' again and do what she was the best in. Catching criminals.

        AFTER A THOROUGH DISCUSSION, the next day Theo made the phone call, and Erin Strauss was more than happy to invite her in. What she didn't know was how much the system changed since the last time she was in the bullpen with Gideon and Hotch, but she was ready to face the challenges. Even if one of them happened to come in the form of a man, whose name everybody knew, the Italian-American BAU profiler, David Rossi. The one, who happened to choose to come out from retirement on the same day as Theo, and who was Grace's biggest idol. It sure made things a bit complicated...
