Work Text:

Diluc first learns that something is wrong when he hears Hillie screaming from the front door. He waits just a beat, if only because his younger maids are prone to hysterics, and Adelinde is usually quick to chastise them. When he doesn’t hear Adelinde, he exchanges a glance with Elzer and then gets to his feet and walks toward the entrance.

When he reaches Hillie, he freezes. As it turns out, Moco is already there, and each of them is staring, seemingly at a loss as to what to do.

In front of them, on his knees, is Kaeya.

It’s been a lifetime since Diluc saw his once brother. He never expected to see him again.

In the war against the Abyss Order, Kaeya, unable to broker a peace between the warring factions, had sided with Khaenri’ah. It had been a devastating blow, particularly for Mondstadt. Kaeya knew the workings of the nation inside and out. And while his intelligence had clearly come in handy several times, Diluc had also been relatively certain that Kaeya must have been holding some things back.

He had glimpsed Kaeya a few times in battle but never found himself squaring off against him. When it was all over and the back of the Abyss Order was broken and the last remnants of Khaenri’ah were finally wiped from the face of Teyvat, Diluc had heard nothing of Kaeya. He’d oscillated between whether or not that meant it was likely that Kaeya had survived. It seemed unlikely. The Seven had been ruthless in their vengeance. And even if he had somehow slipped his proverbial noose, Diluc didn’t anticipate that he’d ever see him again; if he had survived, Kaeya would be clever enough to keep his true identity obscured where he was. After all, he had become the ultimate traitor and cautionary tale in Mond.

But Diluc has his answer now.

Kaeya may still be alive, but the Seven have not been merciful.

Besides the blindfold tied about his eyes, Kaeya is entirely naked. His hair is longer than Diluc has ever seen it before, coming to his lower back, and isn’t done up at all, let alone in Kaeya’s normal style. His arms are bound simply behind his back, but he doesn’t fight against the restraints – which are rudimentary enough that Diluc knows that Kaeya is capable of slipping them if he were to try. His nipples are pierced, where, Diluc assumes, they weren’t before. A thin silver chain hangs between them.

Somehow, the entire image is secondary to what one glimpse between Kaeya’s legs reveals: he’s no longer an Alpha. His cock is small now, the knot gone entirely.

Diluc drags his eyes away from Kaeya and to the being who has brought Kaeya here singlehandedly. He’d fought only briefly alongside Xiao. But he knows the Adeptus well enough to understand that he wouldn’t have come here like this unless it was on the orders of Zhongli himself.

At the same time, Adelinde rushes from inside, bringing a cloak with her, as if fabric could obscure what everyone had around seen. She wraps it carefully around Kaeya, but he startles and shies away from her touch, drawing closer to Xiao. Xiao, for his part, seems utterly indifferent to the scene playing out beside him.

“Master Ragnvindr,” he says. “I bring you this gift from the Seven in recognition of your actions during the Abyss War.”

Diluc is rarely surprised these days, but this is a surprise. He’s careful to keep his face neutrally blank as he looks back from Xiao to Kaeya. He wants to refuse. He hadn’t wanted to see Kaeya ever again the first time that he had left Mondstadt. That feeling had only doubled after Kaeya had formally betrayed him and the Knights and all of Mondstadt. But he knows it wouldn’t be simple to refuse any sort of gift from the Seven now. Winning the war had only reaffirmed their power over Teyvat. Moreover, he doesn’t know what would happen to Kaeya if he turned him away from his door.

Adelinde is looking indignantly up at him, because even though he’s a traitor, she still helped raised Kaeya, and she’s never shed her love for him.

“Take him inside,” Diluc instructs flatly.

Adelinde draws him closer and prompts him to stand. He stumbles as he does, lacking his usual grace. Only Adelinde’s hold keeps him from falling entirely. But if Kaeya has any idea of who he’s with or where he is, he’s yet to show it.

Diluc steps aside to allow them to pass. As he does, he’s hit with the bracing smell of fertile omega. He clenches his jaw as hard as he can to keep from reacting in any other way. But the truth is that Kaeya smells overwhelming; Diluc feels like he’s been suckerpunched, his blood simmering in interest from his proximity alone.

Once Adelinde and Kaeya have disappeared from their sight, Hillie and Moco begin to whisper.

“Back to your duties, please,” Diluc says. He doesn’t doubt that even without their help, the rumors will have fully spread across Mondstadt by evening. But with it, he gives it an hour. He suspects that’s why Xiao escorted Kaeya naked, after all: to stir the news of his fate.

Both maids depart briskly, leaving Diluc alone with Xiao.

“Master Diluc,” Xiao says, holding out a letter for Diluc to take as well.

“Thank you,” Diluc says curly, accepting it, even though what he wants to say is that bringing Kaeya back here is no reward to him at all. It’s a curse, and Diluc dreads having to enter his own home and figure out what to do with Kaeya now.

But his packages delivered, Xiao takes his own leave.

Diluc steps back inside where he is, thankfully, afforded a moment of quiet. He walks back to his desk, picks up his letter opener, and slits the envelope open. The paper inside is of the highest quality, the handwriting itself immaculate and neat.

Master Diluc Ragnvindr,

We bid you warm wishes and thank you once again for your fighting prowess and intelligence during what has become known as the Abyss War.

Having grown to know you as a I did during that time, I suspect that you will find our actions against Kaeya Alberich as cruel. I cannot deny that. However, some cruelty can often be necessary and helpful. We believe that Kaeya Alberich’s suffering will be of benefit to the future of Teyvat, deterring others from following down Khaenri’ah’s willful and dangerous path.

Now that our justice is delivered, we return him to you, trusting that you, above any other in this world, are fit to determine his future fate.

Until we meet again,

Zhongli

Diluc is painfully aware of his heart beating in his throat as he reads the letter. His fingers grip the paper too tightly. The Seven themselves have bitched Kaeya and now given him to Diluc – without instruction as to whether or not he’s supposed to be a caretaker or a jailer. Instead, they’ve given him that choice: that he can continue to hurt Kaeya, and no one will be able to question him, or he can hide him away and protect him.

There’s no easy solution.

Because he doesn’t know what fate he believes that Kaeya deserves. Indeed, that’s part of why he had hoped to never see Kaeya again. Kaeya has hurt him more than any other being in existence. And yet—

He hears harried footsteps approach and looks up to see Adelinde, appearing more frazzled than he’s ever seen her. There’s a flush high on her cheeks, and she might be close to tears. The realization brings Diluc up short, because he’s never, not once, in all their many years together, seen Adelinde cry. Still, she waits for him to speak. He wishes she wouldn’t. He just wants to know. He doesn’t want to have to figure out what the right question is in this moment.

“How is he?” is what he settles on, which feels both too vague and like he cares too much about whatever Kaeya is experiencing.

“I believe he’s going into heat,” Adelinde says.

“Ah,” Diluc says, his appearance at utter counterpoint with his emotions. Of course. But it turns what’s already a pressing problem into an even more urgent one, because Diluc can’t simply hide Kaeya in some distant house until he figures out what to do with him then.

“Surely, we can discreetly hire an Alpha to help him through?” Diluc asks, because he knows that other noble families have availed themselves of such services for Omegas particularly hard-hit by their heats who are yet unmated.

Adelinde looks at him, aghast.

“What would you have me do, Adelinde?” he asks, instead. She is rarely lacking a solution, after all.

“Not give him to a stranger,” Adelinde answers. “Not after everything he’s been through. Not when he still can’t truly consent.”

“Spending this heat on his own will be immensely painful,” Diluc warns. Any heat is, but he suspects that soon after being bitched and separated from the Alphas who did it, such a heat will be almost possible for Kaeya to withstand on his own. He doesn’t know which is crueler: allowing an Alpha access to Kaeya or denying Kaeya access to an Alpha, because Adelinde is right, of course. Given the circumstances, Kaeya can’t possibly consent.

“Not on his own,” Adelinde says quietly. “Just not with a stranger.”

Diluc stills.

Of course, this is the reason the Seven likely gave Kaeya to Diluc, but, naively, such a solution hadn’t come to Diluc’s mind until Adelinde suggested it.

“I fail to see how me assaulting him is better than someone else,” Diluc says coldly.

“You’d be kind to him,” Adelinde says with a greater certainty than Diluc feels. Would he? Because it doesn’t seem that even his Archons had been entirely sure of that. He doesn’t know how much kindness he’s capable of these days, maybe especially to Kaeya, who has hurt him over and over again.

“I’ll speak to him,” Diluc says in lieu of giving Adelinde a proper answer. It’s a cop out. It’s true that he doesn’t now Kaeya’s state of mind is at the moment, but he knows that it can’t be good. It’s an excuse to allow himself more time to think and nothing more, as if he’ll be able to conjure up a new option during his walk up the stairs. Half of him hopes that Kaeya is just gone. That’s what the Kaeya of old would have done after all. Faced with a difficult, emotional situation, he’d have flung himself out the nearest window.

Adelinde gives him the smallest nod.

So, Diluc walks past her and heads upstairs, bypassing both his room and what was once Kaeya’s room so long ago. Of course Adelinde hadn’t put him in either of those. Instead, she’d selected a guest bedroom set back from the staircase, as if those scant feet can offer Kaeya any additional protection. Even at the top of the stairs, the air stinks of an Omega going into heat, thick with pheromones and desperation.

If Adelinde wasn’t still watching him at the bottom of the stairs, he’d stop there and give himself a moment to think. A moment to despair. But, alas, she is, so he forces himself to walk to the door and open it with tentative fingertips.

Kaeya is hunched over the edge of the bed, holding the cloak to himself with a shaking hand. When the door opens, his head shoots up, and he eyes Diluc with obvious fear. It’s an expression Diluc has never seen on his face before, not once, not even when Diluc had so nearly killed him. Kaeya had just let that happen, with almost resigned acceptance. Without his eyepatch or blindfold, Diluc is caught off guard by the sight of both of his eyes looking at Diluc. One is paler than the other, which Diluc had heard was because Kaeya was Khaenri’ahian royalty. He still doesn’t know if that rumor is true. Around that eye, the skin is crinkled with scars, the result of Diluc’s own fire. His breath catches in his throat for a moment, because he still remembers bearing down on Kaeya, his burning thumb digging into the tender skin there. But he’s never seen the aftermath. Diluc closes the door behind him, although he doesn’t step any closer to the bed. Regardless, Kaeya’s shoulders hunch up. He tracks each one of Diluc’s movements with obvious wariness.

“Do you understand where you are?” Diluc asks, low. “What’s happened?”

Kaeya hesitates. Nods.

“Tell me then,” Diluc commands.

Kaeya’s nostrils flare slightly, and Diluc can see the way his pupils darken.

“Back at Dawn Winery,” he answers.

Despite seeing him, despite commanding him to speak, Diluc is caught off guard by hearing his voice again. He tries to remember the last time they had spoken. It must have been about nothing, some pithy comment in passing, because Kaeya certainly hadn’t told him anything before he had fled the Knights of Favonius to return to his homeland. His voice is soft in a way that Diluc doesn’t know he’s heard before. Adult Kaeya had been so confident in everything, eager to put forward a perfect picture of suaveness. It meant that his voice was occasionally sultry but never soft. But he’s not filtering his voice in any particular way at the moment.

In a strange way, it reminds Diluc of when Kaeya had first come to them. He’d rarely spoken in those initial few weeks, and Diluc had been overly proud of every word that he’d gotten out of Kaeya. Even when he’d started speaking, he’d been shy and reluctant, often only asking questions or answering if someone directed him to. Except with Diluc. With Diluc, he’d been more open, eventually eager to try and keep up, readily giggling at the foolish stories and games that Diluc created for them.

The memory is unwelcome, and Diluc tries to close his heart against it. He doesn’t like thinking back on that time.

Still, now that the comparison has made itself known, Diluc can’t deny it. Kaeya’s vulnerable again, deposited at Diluc’s feet in a world strange to him.

Then Kaeya continues speaking.

“You’re my new Alpha,” he says, and his voice is even more unfamiliar. Because it’s submissive. Because it’s practically begging. Because Kaeya’s hand releases its hold on the fabric, and he lets it fall down his shoulders, unveiling his body to Diluc’s gaze once again.

Diluc hastily looks away, awash with guilt. Once, he’d wanted to hear those words more than anything. He’d presented early and had been confident that Kaeya would present as an Omega. He’d made so many plans in his head about how Diluc would court him properly, and they’d be married and mated shortly after Kaeya turned 18. But, then, of course, Kaeya had presented and hadn’t been an Omega at all but another Alpha. Diluc had been quietly heartbroken. He’d tucked his yearning away. He’d fought beside Kaeya in the Knights instead and tried to turn his attention to the Omegas that he’d one day be expected to bed and breed. And despite never telling another soul, despite Kaeya’s first betrayal, Diluc’s departure, Kaeya’s second betrayal, and their opposing positions on a terrible war, Diluc has never stopped wanting him.

And maybe it’s that, more than anything else, that had made Diluc want to say no to Adelinde downstairs. Because he knew it moments before and he knows it now: He won’t be able to help Kaeya for kind, selfless reasons. No, it would be to finally give in to what he’s wanted for so long and never thought he’d get. And has now been handed to him in the most twisted way.
And then – Kaeya is directly in front of him. Diluc startles. While Diluc had been trapped in his own thoughts, Kaeya had gotten up on quiet feet and made his way to Diluc. He’s stealthy as ever, betraying some inkling of who he once was – who Diluc is still trying to search for, even though he doesn’t know why.

Kaeya touches careful fingertips to the hinge of his jaw, and Diluc stops breathing. Kaeya’s touch is still cool despite the removal of his Vision. Diluc’s gaze is searching and desperate, but Kaeya is looking only at Diluc’s mouth.

“Alpha,” Kaeya whispers, entreating.

Heat throbs in the core of Diluc’s being. He’s angry with himself for being so enthralled when Kaeya has done nothing at all – when it’s questionable whether or not this is still Kaeya standing in front of him and when it’s even more questionable if he can really want anything.

He’s always prided himself on rising above his baser instincts. Ruts had been a nuisance. And while other Alphas gone into a jealous rage over the smell of a certain Omega, Diluc had always been somewhat impassive – to anyone but Kaeya. But he’d known from the day that Kaeya had presented that he would never be Diluc’s, that proper society would dictate Diluc to marry a demure Omega and continue the Ragnvindr line. He’d never been bold enough to even consider approaching Kaeya, because he’d known that Kaeya held the whole of him and Diluc would never be able to give him up once he’d had a taste.

That still hasn’t changed, no matter how Diluc wishes it was so. He wants to be able to send Kaeya impassively away, to delegate his care to other people and let Kaeya fade into some memory of the early years of his life.

Instead, he presses his thumb to the hollow of Kaeya’s throat.

Kaeya tilts his head back, his eyes drifting half shut in pleasure. The movement is all elegant grace, the same way fluid way that Kaeya had moved before – before everything. But the Kaeya of
before would have never bared his throat to anyone.

“Say my name,” Diluc commands, low, able to feel Kaeya’s pulse. He needs to know that Kaeya at least knows who he is.

“Diluc,” Kaeya whispers.

Diluc watches his name form on Kaeya’s lips. He can’t remember the last time he heard Kaeya say it. He’s never heard him say it like this. So – so, Kaeya knows who he is, but does he remember everything? That Diluc would have given anything for him?

His gaze rises to Kaeya’s eyes, and all he sees is heat haze.

Still, Kaeya hasn’t so much as moved his hand from Diluc’s face. He can’t imagine that this would have been Kaeya’s approach at any other time. He’s waiting – waiting for permission from Diluc to touch more, waiting for Diluc to take the lead.

It’s not right. But if he’s learned anything in his life, it’s that nothing is ever right in this world.

He leans in and kisses Kaeya roughly, and Kaeya practically swoons underneath him, opening up so sweetly. Diluc ravages his mouth, dipping his tongue inside of him, and Kaeya lets him take it all, moaning quietly, his scent thickening in the air around them. Diluc nips at his lips, digging his teeth into the plush of Kaeya’s lower lip. And Kaeya never falters, never turns away, never pushes back. His hand doesn’t so much as twitch against Diluc’s jaw. He’s the perfect little obedient Omega.

And that isn’t Kaeya at all.

But fuck it, Diluc finally thinks. He can’t fix this.

He should stop and see what Kaeya’s real state of mind is – how traumatized he is by what the Archons did and how much he actually remembers of Diluc and what emotions he associates with him now. That’s what a good man would do. Try to assuage as much of Kaeya’s pain as he can first.

He doesn’t do those things.

He pulls away, panting, his mind snarled with rage and arousal.

“I need you, Alpha,” Kaeya murmurs.

Kaeya has never needed him. Diluc rips off his overcoat, letting it crumple to the floor and then begins shrugging off layers of clothing, his fingers tugging at his tie, trying to get naked as quickly as possible.

“May I?” Kaeya asks, somehow polite, fingers dipping to the buttons of Diluc’s shirt.

Diluc grunts his approval, and Kaeya begins to neatly undo the buttons, slim fingers working one after another until Diluc’s chest is bare. Tentatively, he glides one hand along the curve of Diluc’s rib cage. He watches Diluc’s face, though, clearly still seeking his permission. As if Diluc has ever figured out how to deny him anything. Diluc kicks off hits boots, pulls down his pants, and then he’s bare, in a position he’s guiltily half imagined for years without really believing it would happen. Kaeya’s lips part, and he draws in a halting, audible breath.

There’s scarcely any distance between them to begin with, but Diluc closes the small amount, letting their bodies press flush together. He takes Kaeya’s face in between his hands and kisses him again. He tries to keep it slower this time, tries to convey how much he still loves him despite everything. He just – gets too caught up in the moment, in the draw of Kaeya’s body against his. They stumble backward toward the bed as Diluc returns to devouring Kaeya’s mouth, Kaeya making small whimpering sounds the entire while. He wraps one arm around Diluc, fingertips resting featherlight against one of Diluc’s shoulder blades.

Kaeya’s legs hit the bed, and his knees buckle. He goes down in an artless sprawl, blue hair everywhere. He stares up at Diluc for a moment, his legs bracketing Diluc’s. He maneuvers himself properly onto the bed, rolls over, and presents himself to Diluc. The arch dip of his lower back is too much. Diluc has to close his eyes tightly before he even takes in all the details.

“Alpha,” Kaeya keens, his voice muffled by where his face is pressed into the bedsheets.

Diluc looks again, cock throbbing insistently. Kaeya is half peering back at him. When he sees Diluc looking at him, he spreads his legs wider, bringing his pert ass and wet cunt back into focus. His fingers clench and unclench in the sheets, and his thighs, already damp, are trembling. He’s desperate for it, Diluc realizes. He’d do anything that Diluc asks so long as Diluc fucks him. And it’s not right, not after what’s been done to Kaeya, but some part of it appeals strongly to his Alpha hindbrain.

“My name,” Diluc demands again, quietly. Because he’s not just any Alpha, is he?

“Diluc,” Kaeya moans.

As a reward, Diluc dips his fingers in between Kaeya’s legs. He traces the inside of his thighs, smearing the slick that’s already gleaming there. Kaeya shivers so badly that it seems like he could almost come from this alone.

His labia are already flushed with blood, his smaller dick dripping onto the bed below. Diluc traces everything with idle interest, petting at heated skin and trimmed blue hair. Beneath him, Kaeya whimpers. He stays completely still, even though it’s evident that he wants to squirm, wants to reach back and sink Diluc’s fingers properly into him.

And that’s the thing, isn’t it? Even if the Kaeya he had known had been an Omega, if he had wanted Diluc, he would have seduced him. He would be sitting on his cock right now, taking everything. But now, he waits, attuned to Diluc even through the agony of a terrible heat.

“Have you touched yourself here?” Diluc asks, low. He doesn’t mean to say the words and yet as soon as they spill from him, he knows where they come from.

Undoubtedly, Kaeya had messed around with other Knights when they were teenagers. But as a son of the Ragnvindr family, he’d been carefully discreet about it, and Diluc had never been forced to hear about any of Kaeya’s lovers.

But upon his return, that had all changed. It had been startling to hear the stories. Working at the Angel’s Share, people were loose with their tales of conquest and lust. Somehow, in the years that he had been gone, people had forgotten how close he and Kaeya were – like brothers. And so Diluc was treated to all sorts of unsavory stories about who Kaeya had slept with and what he was like as a lover. And it had certainly felt like Kaeya had slept with the entirety of the city and then some.

It wasn’t as if Diluc had been chaste during his travels. He had been preoccupied, yes. But he had also been almost eager to get his so-called virginity out of the way, as if it was some last strange tie tethering him to his adolescence and Kaeya.

He had fucked three Omegas and one Beta and quickly come to the conclusion that sex wasn’t for him. He didn’t understand the fuss. It was fine. All of it was fine, and not nearly as much as what it had been built up to. And it hadn’t stamped Kaeya out of his head and heart the way he wanted it to, anyway.

He’d returned to Mondstadt tentatively hopeful that his newfound realizations about sex would make Kaeya less appealing. They hadn’t. Instead, he’d received a running list of the people Kaeya had pleasured.

“No.”

It takes Diluc a moment to realize that Kaeya is answering him, repeating the word softly.

“No?” Diluc murmurs back. He rubs his middle finger around Kaeya’s wet entrance. He doesn’t know if that’s because Kaeya wasn’t permitted or if it’s because he hasn’t wanted to. And it’s wrong, it’s so wrong, but part of him is quietly pleased. This is a part of Kaeya that he hasn’t shared with anyone else, that no one aside from the literal gods of their world have partaken in. It was made for Diluc, and it will always be Diluc’s.

He sinks his finger inside of Kaeya to the first knuckle, and Kaeya mewls. That sound sends a shock of pleasure jolting through Diluc’s insides. He pumps his finger in and out of Kaeya a few times, and Kaeya’s body readily sucks him in, clearly craving more. The muscles along Kaeya’s back and hips twitch as he figures the urge to set the pace and rock back against Diluc’s hand.

“What do you want?” Diluc asks.

“More,” Kaeya pleads. “More, please.” His breathing is already ragged, and he grinds his forehead down against the sheets.

Without hesitation, Diluc gives him what he’s asking for. He presses a second finger inside of Kaeya, and Kaeya opens just as easily, just as beautifully, for that finger as well. He thrusts them in and out of Kaeya, mesmerized by the sight of his fingers disappearing into Kaeya’s body and how wet they appear when he can see them again. He gets so caught up in the sight that he misses when Kaeya starts to bite at his own lower lip and tears trickle down his cheeks.

He startles when he realizes it, nearly pulling away, only to realize that Kaeya isn’t crying from pain or discomfort.

“Do you want another?” he asks and is surprised by how rough and deep his own voice has gone.

“Yes,” Kaeya gasps. “Oh, yes, please, Alpha.”

So, Diluc gives him a third finger, and Kaeya sighs as if he’s almost full enough.

“Move your body as you wish,” Diluc instructs him.

Kaeya glances at him over his shoulder, his expression doubting at first. Diluc looks steadily back at him, giving Kaeya enough time to determine that he’s not lying and this isn’t a trick. He presses his face back down against the sheets and then slams his hips back against Diluc’s hand with as much force as he can seemingly manage. A low moan ripples out of Kaeya, and then he’s off, moving, fucking himself on Diluc’s fingers with dedicated rigor.

Diluc is breathless at the sight alone. He barely moves. He rests his other hand lightly on Kaeya’s hip so that he can feel the shifting motion of his body, but he’s careful not to restrict his movements in any way. He thinks he’s barely breathing as he watches Kaeya writhe and plead beneath him, chasing an orgasm with reckless abandon. Diluc’s aware of his own pulse, thudding at the base of his throat and in his cock. He doesn’t think he’s ever been so hard in his entire life. He no longer cares that this is something that he should be ashamed of. He stretches his fingers apart just the faintest amount, and Kaeya notices right away.

“Thank you,” he pants out while he rubs his face against the sheets, his long hair starting to stick to his sweaty back. “Oh, thank you, Alpha.”

“My name,” Diluc reminds him.

“Diluc,” Kaeya amends. And then comes.

His cunt flutters tightly around Diluc’s fingers as Kaeya shivers, open-mouthed. He seems to have temporarily lost the ability to make any sound once so ever, caught in a wave of pleasure, as his cock spurts out come against the once-pristine sheets. He keeps rocking adamantly back against Diluc’s hand, as if trying to find a higher plane of pleasure altogether. He slows only gradually, his eyebrows drawing together in consternation. He lets out the softest whimper.

Of course he does, Diluc realizes. This isn’t what he really wants, after all. Diluc’s fingers are a poor substitute for what Kaeya really needs. Or, at best, an appetizer, perhaps. Diluc pulls his fingers away from Kaeya’s body, flushing at the sticky noise they make. Kaeya starts to whine and then cuts himself off. He opens his eyes and peers at Diluc again, perhaps expecting admonishment for asking for more than he was given. When he sees Diluc’s dumbstruck expression, his flush faced, he rolls back over onto his back and spreads his legs wide. He’s a mess already, his own come streaking up his belly and chest. Diluc had forgotten about his pierced nipples, and now, rubbed slightly raw from the bed, they look even more obscene.

“Did I please you, Master Diluc?” Kaeya asks, still showing off his cunt for Diluc to see. There’s no hint of coquettishness that he would have expected from Kaeya. Just a sweet willingness to please.

“Yes,” Diluc whispers.

And then Kaeya smiles.

Diluc feels taken out at the knees.

He doesn’t know if he can count it as a real smile. But what he does know is that since he’s come back to Mondstadt, he hasn’t seen Kaeya smile for real at all. He’s seen all the masks – the flirt, the liar. There had been such a short period of time in their lives when Kaeya had smiled real – it had taken months of him being comfortable alongside Diluc, but somehow, at some point after they had become knights, his true smiles had become rarer. In retrospect, Diluc had been seeing him beginning to shift into the performance of himself. His smiles were more practiced, designed to charm and manipulate. Diluc hadn’t understood then, and he had been confused but hadn’t known what to ask let alone how.

So, this smile is perhaps not real, no, but it’s less fake than all the others. It’s closer to their childhood days when Kaeya would be enthralled by some new discovery of Diluc’s, when he would shyly share everything he could with Diluc and look for his approval.

Diluc clambers on top of the bed, pressing his body down against Kaeya’s. Kaeya gasps raggedly, his eyes wide as Diluc’s cock presses up against his, sliding against his temporarily softened dick and then through his soaked folds. Kaeya keeps his legs spread, locking his knees about Diluc’s hips to keep them as close together as they can manage for now.

“I’m going to protect you, Kaeya,” Diluc whispers to him. He runs his thumb underneath Kaeya’s eye, over the ridges of scar tissue there. “I’m going to protect you this time, okay?” That’s all he ever wanted. He just wanted to keep Kaeya safe for himself, safe from the world. He can’t do a damn thing about any of the rest of it – can’t go back and make Kaeya just be honest with his father and renounce Khaenri’ah in the process. He can’t make it so that Kaeya didn’t infiltrate the Knights and then turn back to Khaenri’ah and the Abyss or stop the Seven from bitching him as a result. But he can do this moving forward – make sure that Kaeya no longer has to worry about split loyalties or anyone else hurting him ever again.

Kaeya looks up at him and nods, automatic and dazed. There’s no telling if his words have any meaning at the moment. Diluc will just have to prove them to him.

“Roll over,” Diluc says. He puts just enough room in between them so that Kaeya can move and gently taps at each of his hips.

Kaeya scrambles to obey, going back onto his belly. Diluc blankets him again right away, his front sticking to Kaeya’s back. He lets his cock rub lazily in between Kaeya’s thighs. He wraps one arm around Kaeya’s middle and the other goes to his chest, catching one peaked nipple in between his fingertips. He plays with it idly while he thrusts slowly in between Kaeya’s legs, letting his cockhead catch on Kaeya’s hole time and time again without ever popping in. Kaeya moans weakly. His fingers scramble across the sheets again, catching on the fabric as if it’ll anchor him – as if he doesn’t know where else to put his hands.

All he does is tilt his head a little, his hair sliding away from one side of his neck to reveal his mating gland. Still untouched after all this time – by the lovers from before, by the Seven. His scent is leaking need, and he lets out a little hiccupping gasp every time Diluc’s cockhead catches.

Diluc buries his face into Kaeya’s neck, letting his potent smell flood his senses and overtake his higher thinking. He pushes forward with his hips, just a little, letting the tip of his penis penetrate Kaeya.

“Is that what you want?” Diluc murmurs into Kaeya’s skin.

“Yes,” Kaeya gasps, pleading. “Yes, please. Please, Master. I’ve been good, haven’t I? I deserve it.”

Diluc pauses, even though he can feel Kaeya trembling around and under him as he tries his best to stay still, to wait until Diluc has given him permission. He moves one hand to Kaeya’s chin and turns his head so that he can see Kaeya’s face properly. His gaze is bleary, eyes already filled with tears. It takes him a moment or two to focus on Diluc’s face. He seems … almost surprised to see him.

“You’ll be good for me now on, won’t you?” Diluc asks quietly. “No more hurting yourself? No more putting yourself in danger?”

“Yes,” Kaeya whispers. Perhaps another thoughtless answer, but one that Diluc is going to hold Kaeya to, regardless. His reckless, self-destructive days are over.

“Good boy,” Diluc praises him. And then buries himself to the hilt.

Kaeya’s eyes roll back in pleasure. He must on the verge of another climax already, because all it takes is a few rolls of Diluc’s hips, which grind Kaeya’s cock down against the bed, and he’s coming again. He tightens up unbelievably around Diluc, moaning the entire time, clawing at the sheets.

And he must be sensitive once he finishes, but Diluc doesn’t stop moving. If anything, he speeds up, finally intent on his own pleasure. He rears back so that he can have enough space to move. Then, he bottoms out hard at the end of each thrust before dragging back, feeling the way that Kaeya’s body grips him deliciously.

“Move with me,” Diluc commands in a snarl, bringing both of hands down to Kaeya’s hips. Despite the order, he manhandles Kaeya how he wants him, bringing him back into each of the forward snaps of his hips. Kaeya does his best to comply anyway, crying out deliriously.

“Master!” Kaeya pleads, practically shouting. “Master, please!”

“What?” Diluc growls. He catches Kaeya by the throat and brings him upward, so that Diluc is on his haunches and Kaeya is essentially sitting on his cock. It gives him less range of motion, but it’s worth it for watching the way that Kaeya keeps working himself up and down, his eyelashes studded with tears, his messy hair sticking to both their faces.

“What do you want, Kaeya?” Diluc demands. He plucks roughly, too roughly, at Kaeya’s nipples, thrumming the silver chain in between them so that Kaeya nearly shrieks, his pussy rippling around Diluc in reaction.

“To be yours,” Kaeya begs. “Make me yours, Master!” He pulls his hair away from his neck, exposing his scent gland to Diluc again.

And what is Diluc to do?

“You’ve always been mine,” Diluc snarls.

He leans forward and savagely bites at Kaeya’s neck, mating him, marking him permanently. He feels a nearly feral sort of satisfaction as the bright taste of Kaeya’s blood blooms across his tongue. He comes immediately, feeling as if he’s been sucker punched, his balls turned inside out, as his knot locks into place and he comes and comes, pumping Kaeya full of his seed. Kaeya whimpers through it all, sounding utterly blissed-out with pleasure. Every now and then, he rolls his hips faintly downward and clenches around Diluc, as if it’s possible to take him any deeper. He’s finally moved his hands of his own accord: one of them is clenched in Diluc’s hair, keeping him pressed to his neck. The other has grabbed one of Diluc’s hands and has it pressed tight over his flat belly.

In the midst of everything else, Diluc hadn’t thought about the fact that Kaeya is now capable of carrying his child – that even now, his seed could be planting itself in Kaeya’s body and in months, Kaeya will be round with the shape of him, marked by him in another way that no one else ever will be to touch him. At the thought, he empties another spurt into Kaeya’s core, and Kaeya just sighs happily, rocks and shifts against him.

Diluc pulls away from Kaeya’s scent gland and is momentarily stymied to see how deeply he bit Kaeya. Of course, mating marks are meant to scare. But this one will scare deeply. He presses a softer kiss to the mark, an almost apology, as his lips are stained once more with Kaeya’s blood.

He looks to Kaeya’s face once again.

“How do you feel?” he asks softly, half afraid of the answer.

“Oh,” Kaeya sighs. “Perfect, Master. Just perfect.”

Diluc shuts his eyes and wraps his arms around Kaeya and holds him tight as he lowers his face to rest on the top of Kaeya’s shoulder. He wants to pretend that Kaeya’s answer can make him feel less guilty.
