Work Text:
“Chan-hyung, this is so pretty, I don’t even want to eat it,” said Hyunjin. On the low table in the living room was a collection of pastries, all with intricate frosting designs. True works of art.
“You’re prettier,” Changbin said with a smirk, “and you’re still edible.”
Hyunjin laughed, bright and loud. “Good one.”
“No flirting!” Jeongin griped around his mouthful of pastry. He certainly had no qualms about eating the beautiful treats.
Changbin leaned back on the couch and shrugged. “It comes so naturally to me.”
“Just like being short comes naturally to you?” Jisung said with a shit-eating grin.
“You sure you want to target hyung’s height issue, shorty?” Seungmin chimed in with an eyebrow raised.
“Yeah!” Changbin shouted.
All eight of them were gathered at Changbin and Hyunjin’s apartment for a rare night in. Chan had brought treats from a local bake shop for everyone to share.
Felix giggled from his spot next to Minho on the couch. “Hey, remember when that instructor made Jisung and Changbin rap battle out of the blue?”
Changbin groaned. “Why would you bring that up?” He played with Hyunjin’s fingers while Hyunjin rested his head on Jeongin’s shoulder. It was a good thing they’d invested in several large couches.
Jisung sat up straighter from his spot on the floor between Chan’s legs. “Yeah! And I dissed him and won!” he said smugly, meeting eyes with anyone who allowed him to.
Felix nodded. “You guys should battle again. But this time, make it a rizz battle.”
Minho blinked once, then clapped loudly and leaned forward. “Yes. Listen to Yongbok. Rizz battle, you two.”
Jisung scoffed. “A rizz battle? So, what, we try to out-flirt each other? That’s nothing like a rap battle.”
“Not really,” Chan said thoughtfully, tapping his free fingers on his knee, the other hand clutching a pastry. “Rapping is all about wordplay and wit. It’s basically turning the other person’s words around to suit your agenda. Flirting does that, only your agenda is to make them flustered, or to sound romantic or suggestive.” He beamed. “That’s why Changbin is so good at flirting! He’s got a rapper’s mind for wordplay!”
Minho sagged back against the couch with a loud sigh. “You’re such a nerd, Channie.”
Jisung jutted his lip. “I’m good at flirting, too.”
“Then battle!” Felix said, eyes glinting. “Pit your flirting skills against each other!”
Seungmin walked over to Felix’s couch and leaned down over the back of it to murmur, “Why does it seem like you have an ulterior motive?”
Felix craned his head up to grin at Seungmin. “Because I do.”
At the same time, Jeongin loudly complained, “No, guys! Come on! You flirt enough on camera! Spare my maknae eyes!”
Hyunjin laughed and snuggled closer to him. “It’s not that bad, Iyennie.”
“It is ,” Jeongin said morosely. “I will require lots of meals to make up for the trauma you’re about to put me through.”
Changbin had been eyeing Jisung steadily throughout the whole discussion, grin widening as the younger rapper scowled harder. Right at the end of Jeongin’s complaint, he said loudly, “Don’t worry, maknae-yah. Jisung is too scared to rizz battle me.”
“What?!” Jisung scrambled to his feet. “I’m not scared. You should be scared!”
Changbin pushed up off the couch and walked over to Jisung. He put one hand in his pocket and tilted his head to the side. “Why should I be scared, honey?”
Felix sucked in a breath.
Jisung barreled on, oblivious. “I’m going to flirt so well, you’ll think of me every time you try to flirt for the rest of your life.”
Changbin smiled indulgently. “I look forward to it. I’d love to have you live in my head.”
Jisung spluttered, thrown off his game. “That’s—well—good!”
Minho leaned over and whispered, “It’s started hasn’t it?”
In sync, Seungmin and Felix whispered back, “Yes.” With a condescending chuckle, Seungmin added, “But Jisung doesn’t get it yet.”
“He’s still in diss mode,” Felix whispered. “He needs to remember that rizz is all about complimenting the other person and making them flustered.”
“Changbin’s already winning,” Seungmin whispered back.
Vaguely aware of whispering from the couch, Changbin had eyes only for Jisung. “I am good. But not as good as you can be.”
Jeongin groaned and squeezed his eyes shut. Hyunjin absolutely noticed the whispering happening on the other couch, and he grabbed Jeongin by the wrist to lead him over to the other three.
He met Chan’s stricken, slightly horrified gaze and jerked his chin to get him to join them.
There, now everyone was within whispering distance as they watched the rizz battle unfold.
Jisung blushed, realized it, and took a step back, pointing an accusatory finger at Changbin. “Hey! No fair! I wasn’t ready!”
Unruffled, Changbin kept his smarmy grin. “But I’m ready, jagi. Don’t worry, I can get you ready, too.”
“Oh yeah!” Felix whooped from the couch.
“That’s my wife,” Hyunjin said proudly.
Jisung squared his shoulders. He wasn’t going to go down without a fight. Except, no. This wasn’t about fighting. This was about flirting.
He relaxed, putting his weight onto one hip. He saw the rest of the members out of the corner of his eye and tried resolutely to ignore him. No, he needed to focus on Changbin. Changbin, whose chest and arms strained against his T-shirt, whose un-styled hair fell in waves across his forehead, whose lips were curved in a confident smile.
“Sounds like a dream,” said Jisung, “You gonna do all the work? Put those gym muscles to use?”
On the couch, Felix and Hyunjin were holding hands, practically vibrating with excitement.
Changbin took a tiny step closer to Jisung. “You know I could. I’d take care of every little thing.”
“So hot, hyung. You’d look even hotter with me.”
“I know I would. Anyone would be lucky to have you.”
Strained, Chan croaked, “What is happening right now?”
“Something disgusting,” Jeongin deadpanned.
The other four shushed them.
Jisung stepped closer to Changbin. They were almost toe-to-toe now. Chest-to-chest. Jisung needed to get him to back down. Fluster that cool exterior. Win .
So he flashed his most charming smile. “Yeah? How about I make you lucky? Elevate your existence with mine?”
Changbin’s smile turned challenging. He inhaled, his chest brushing against Jisung’s. “Nothing would make me happier, baby.”
Jisung moved before he could talk himself out of it. So what if he'd never kissed a dude? It's not like this will awaken anything in him. Ha ha, of course not.
He rocked forward and pressed his lips against Changbin’s in a quick kiss. Quick, but long enough that his knees wobbled a bit because damn were Changbin’s lips soft and delicious.
He rocked back, separating them, heart beating fast. No, that wouldn’t do at all. Changbin was supposed to be flustered by a surprise kiss. Not Jisung.
He fluttered his eyes back open (when had he shut them?) to see a pretty blush on Changbin’s face.
Yes, victory! He’d made the right move. It was a decisive action for the sake of the battle. Only the battle.
Changbin chuckled, low and deep, and a shiver coursed unexpectedly down Jisung’s spine. He felt victory slipping between his fingers.
“Oh, Jisungie. Is that all you got?” Changbin shook his head slowly, and licked his lips.
Jisung tracked the movement, but the growing heat in his belly had everything to do with his desire to win, and not any desire to kiss Changbin again. Nope. Definitely not.
Changbin’s question was rhetorical, and Jisung didn’t have a chance to respond before Changbin continued, “Let me show you how to really kiss.”
Jisung let out an embarrassing squeak as Changbin grabbed him: one hand at the small of his back, the other cradling his jaw. He felt like he should resist, but truly he was helpless. He could only go where those hands directed him. He couldn’t help how he melted, how eager he was.
Changbin drew Jisung to him, and captured his mouth with his own. Sweet, soft heat raced through Jisung at the contact. He wrapped his arms around Changbin’s shoulders and leaned into the kiss, pressing into him hungrily.
Changbin flicked his tongue out, an experimental touch to Jisung’s lips that had Jisung’s heart banging around in his chest. Jisung gripped him tightly and did the same. Their tongues met, and Jisung felt like all his nerve endings were on fire at that delicate, wet slide.
It’s just to fluster him. I’m trying to out-kiss him right now!
So good. Changbin’s arms around him were firm and soft and warm, his hand on Jisung’s jaw so gentle and commanding. A thrill raced through Jisung with every minute adjustment Changbin coaxed out of him. As if he was Changbin’s doll to position and kiss.
Not that Jisung let himself be just a doll. No, he kissed back with all the passion he could muster (which was a volcano’s worth of passion, bubbling up inside him with a heat and pressure he’d never experienced before.) He licked into Changbin’s mouth, relishing the high-pitched moan Changbin made.
On the couch, Jeongin wasn’t looking, and the rest of them were staring slack-jawed. Minho hadn’t blinked once since Jisung’s first tiny smooch, his bunny teeth on full display for anyone who cared to look (no one did at the moment.)
“Are they kissing….competitively?” Felix said in a hoarse whisper, wonder in every syllable. His dreams were coming true before his very eyes.
“Damn, that’s hot. Why is this so hot?” Seungmin whispered in awe.
Chan chuckled breathlessly. “So, maybe this is taking it too far. We should stop them probably.”
The next instant, Hyunjin’s hand was on his shoulder, pressing him back. Minho’s arm came a second later, an iron bar across his chest, trapping him.
“Don’t you dare,” Minho said darkly, gaze never wavering from the two standing in the middle of the room.
Jisung and Changbin were fully making out, now. Minho hoped he could remember to congratulate Felix for this excellent idea. Because the vision in front of him was straight out of his deepest fantasies.
Chest to impressive chest, Changbin’s arm dwarfed Jisung’s waist. His little bambi legs bent inward, leaning against Changbin’s. Minho wouldn’t be surprised if Changbin was actually holding up all of Jisung’s weight right now.
Their jaws moved with devastating fluidity, and Minho absently wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth as Jisung’s neck strained, pushing forward into Changbin.
Changbin was having none of it, though, and arched Jisung backward, shifting his other hand to cradle the back of Jisung’s head, supporting him as he devoured Jisung’s mouth.
The little gasps and moans from the both of them made Minho’s head spin, until finally Jisung turned his head, breaking the kiss.
Jisung had turned toward the voyeurs on the couch, and his glazed eyes made everyone (besides Jeongin) want to chew cement and/or pounce on him. (Even Chan, though he’d never admit it.)
Changbin held them still, staring at Jisung’s flushed cheeks and shiny lips. His chest heaved, curly hair mussed and ears red. Everyone on the couch (including Jeongin) wanted to get their hands and/or mouths on that built chest.
“S-so,” Jisung stuttered. He swallowed, throat bobbing, on display since Changbin held him in that backwards arch. “I won, right?”
“That is the farthest thing from my mind right now,” Hyunjin blurted.
“No. Changbin definitely won,” Seungmin said, still standing behind the couch. His right hand was also out of sight behind the couch.
“What? No!” Jisung said with a pout, kiss-swollen lips as red as strawberries.
Chan started, “Now, let’s not let this change—”
Felix slapped a hand over his mouth. “Shut up, Chris.”
Jeongin’s hands somehow found their way to Minho’s shoulders, where he gripped tight in an effort to ground himself. His hyungs were gross. Always gross. So why did he feel this hot, anticipatory buzzing as he looked between Changbin’s smirk and Jisung’s pout?
Minho snaked one hand up to cover Jeongin’s, his little fingers squeezing consolingly. He cleared his throat. “Yeah, Hannie. I think Changbin is the rizz master here.”
“Aww, come on!” Jisung complained, going limp in protest.
Except Changbin’s hold on him was so secure that he didn’t go anywhere.
Changbin took a deep breath, his own heart racing, and pulled Jisung flush to him. “Don’t be a sore loser, Han Jisung.” He winked. “I’ll let you try again later.”
Felix threw himself across Chan’s lap and spasmed. Minho’s gaze sharpened greedily. Hyunjin clapped his hands over his mouth. Seungmin’s out-of-sight hand moved faster. Chan bit his knuckle, his face bright red. Jeongin croaked out, “God, does he never stop? ”
“Wouldn’t you like that,” Jisung retorted. Only, it came out far too breathlessly.
Changbin brushed a thumb along Jisung’s trembling lower lip. “I really would.”
