Chapter Text

The Veinmare Republic grew to power during the unification of North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and parts of Wyoming and Nebraska. The capital of the Veinmare Republic is Perrie, South Dakota. During the unification war the enclave was pushed out of North Dakota and into Minnesota. After a few years of political adaptation and laws being in place the Veinmare republic expanded its military and industrial power over the 12 years of peace. The industrial might of the Veinmare republic began to show when the Legion attacked Veinmare republic cities and towns in the former state of Nebraska. The Veinmare Government responded by sending over 1 million units into the territories and after a few months of tense peace the Veinmare Republic and Caesar's legion went to war and it was a massacre of Legionaries. Both sides met at big springs where Veinmare had dug in and prepared for the legion army to advance. By noon the legion had advanced towards the trenches and pillboxes and all hell broke loose on the advancing legion. Artillery and laser fire broke out from the trench line while Heavy Machine gun fire came from the pillboxes. The legion quickly retreated after sustaining 250,000 deaths. The legionaries Leader ordered Julius Cromwell to capture the town of Venango, the town was only held by a garrison of 250,000 Veinmare Soldiers but was also fortified and had tank support. On the morning of November 12th, 2299 the legion attacked with over 500,000 troops but as they advanced towards the town the tanks guns started to open fire from nearby dug in earthworks in a field. The fire had Surprised the legionaries so after losing 190,000 men they also fell back. The first battle of Venango and The battle of big springs had ended in a Veinmare Republic victory. The legion decided to surrender after 3 years of war and had lost the territory of Colorado to Veinmare Control. The Enclave had been watching this with rapt attention and still angry about the loss of North Dakota decided to launch an invasion of the Veinmare Republic with the objective to capture the territory of North Dakota and if possible to capture the industrial complex at Jamestown. On the morning of December 17th, 2301 the enclave invaded and managed to drive the Veinmare Republic military back towards the town of Cooperstown. The enclave had thrown thousands of men and hundreds of experiments at the Veinmare Republic and after 5 years had pushed them back towards Spiritwood. The Veinmare Republic sent multiple APCs, tanks and ordered the newly formed air force to bomb important enclave military bases and outposts while also providing support to the Veinmare Republic ground forces. The air raid were met with mixed responses by ground and air units alike. One account reports the effectiveness of the rockets and bombs during close air support attacks and on another report of base attacking was overly negative due to the amount of defenses and turrets. During one such raid on a enclave fob 19 P-80s A1s went on a foggy afternoon to cloke there approach but was spotted by a hidden enclave outpost who warned the base and once the P-80s came into range the fog turned into a hellish light show of lazer and plasma. The pilots in a fit of determination and patriotic spearit continued to fly through the fire fight. 9 P-80s where lost in the attack but the enclave base was a critical ammo dump which once the ordinances from the jets dropped and massive fireball rose over the entire sky and a few mini nuke storages went off effectively wiping out the enclave presence at the area and in a larger operation deprived the enclave of much needed ammo and supplies allowing the Veinmare to slow push them back. Later on the Veinmare military had developed the Gauss rifle mark 9 which had a uranium tipped projectile and a much better and faster fire rate and penetration power. The gauss rifle showed its success against anything that the enclave fielded during the battle of spiritwood where the enclave suffered its first heavy defeat at the hands of the Veinmare military. The new weapon showed its usefulness and was quickly adopted as the Veinmare Republic's standard weapon and after 9 years forced the enclave to retreat in a combined air and ground attack from the Veinmare republic. The Veinmare Republic lost about 600,000 men in the defense of the homeland while the enclave lost about 750.000 men and women during the 9 years of war. In 2310 the Veinmare Republic sent scouts east to see if anyone else had survived and reports of people alive in the east coast so they sent small units into the regions of Boston, Washington, and New York.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

James Rickison was sent to Boston to command the units there. He joined up when the war against the enclave had begun and continued to serve and achieved the rank of Commander. James is the base commander of the base at Worcester. His orders are to wait until additional units to be sent and to solidify their foothold and to figure out who the group of monster loving people where and if a problem destroy them. "So this is Boston.... huh anyway fortify this position command is sending tanks and APCs via cargo vertibirds and if we can start patrols all over the region and if possible recruit new people to our nation." James Rickison said walking towards the command building to see how the situation is here and to also take command of the east coast forces.
Enters the command building and is greeted by the look of officers poring over maps and intel over the regions conflicts and areas to potentially find recruits to join the ranks of the Veinmare Republic. "Status report ?" he asks the second in command.
"Sir ! Our situation hasn't changed, our base of operations has gone unnoticed by any of the factions in the region sir !" said First lieutenant Ronald Firgson, quickly doing a salute and then handing the report to the commander.
"Hmm any problems between our group and any of the others ?" asked Captain Rickison looking over the report to see if he missed anything of importance. " I also want our men to be on the lookout for an unknown group of animal lovers who seem to be held in high regard and I want to find out if they are a threat to our nation and if they are give me their location and I will send a force to wipe them out."
"No sir we have not had any conflicts with any of the factions since we have arrived here." said First Lieutenant Firgson with a dutiful tone. "As for the unknown group we will start to look into the rumors and the intel the scouts bring back."
"Good keep me posted, dismissed" said Captain Rickison in a straightforward tone.

"Sir !" said a private, going to the position of attention and saluting Captain Rickison and First Lieutenant Firgson. " MG positions setup and trenches dug, sir !"
"Good and is the helipad built ?" asked Captain Rickison looking at the private with a stern look but returned the salute.
"No sir, the helipad is still being built and the barracks are also still underway." responded the private who is sweating heavily being in the presence of two high ranking officers can do this to you. "latrines have been dug and rations handed out."
"Good dismissed" said Captain Rickison saluting the private and dismissing him before going back to the reports on his desk. First Lieutenant Firgson is also at his desk and helps with the reports and helps the commander with checking how the base runs and its needs and if it can operate on a limited amount if needed while also making allies for the Veinmare Republic and to also make trade agreements with other settlements or factions. Both are currently looking over a map of the state of Massachusetts looking for any strategic areas around the region. A few hours go by as the commander and the second in command look over other maps of the state and while they find nothing First Lieutenant Firgson finds a map of the local city of Worcester and he discovers there's an airport in the area.
"Sir there's an airport nearby from what this map is saying we are near it" said Firgson grabbing the map and setting on the commanders desk and pointing out the location of the airport on the map. "should we send a patrol to check to see if it is any use and if it is send additional units to help clear it out ?
"Hmmm that would be the best course of action and your not lying it seems we spent the past few hours looking at the wrong map good job Firgson." said Rickison rather delighted with the news of a strategic area being so close and it would relieve some of the annoyances of building a base while also enabling a steady flow of resources into the state expanding Veinmare control and influence and power in the region. Which would have the effect of bolstering their east coast forces with a central command. "haha send two patrols out to clear the airport if need be but otherwise occupy the airport and see if there is a radio communications array or something strong enough to contact the other bases in the east coast while also getting into contact with command."
"Yes sir two patrols will be sent out immediately" responded Firgson saluting before running out the command building to order the men to have two patrols sent out to the airport.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Approaching the airport now over" said a soldier on a radio comm in his helmet and his night vision active while approaching at the dead of night.
"Roger that you are clear to advance and occupy if possible clear out any enemies in the area over and out" responded Communication officer Bella.
The two patrols advance quickly and swiftly towards the airport using the surrounding destroyed building as cover as the advance. After a few hours and some minor killing of feral ghouls you occupied the airport. "Red tower to blue fortress airport captured i repeat airport captured over !" said a radio operator in the second platoon of the second patrol in a happy voice.
"Understood any wounded in both patrols ?" she asked over the radio making sure if there were any wounded they could already have the field hospital ready to receive them.
"No negative no casualties or wounded on both patrols over and out." he said while counting the two patrols and once he got 25 men and women he was satisfied that all of the men where all accounted for he decided to order his men to set up defensive parminiters and get patrols underway until the rest of the forces get here.
"Understood then the main force will be there by tomorrow but will send additional units to help secure and get the place up and running." She replied happily to hear the news of the success and with zero casualties or injuries.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Comms officer bella sent the report to Second in command Firgson to be sent to commander rickinson’s desk and while it was on firgson’s desk, he decided to read the report before it was set on the commanders desk and after reading the report and is satisfied that he doesn't need to update the death records he set it on the commanders desk. Rickinson grabs the report and begins to read it before signing off on the report and promptly filing it in a cabinet.
“Firgson prepare to pack up, we are going to the new base and let the men know to start packing” said Rickinson, already packing up papers and maps into crates and boxes and having them stacked next to the command tent.
“Yes sir i will get to that immediately” Firgson responds as he gets up from his desk and moves out onto the base and orders the men to start packing up. After a few minutes he returns and promptly starts to pack up his stuff along with the reports and maps. Rickinson orders one of the apcs over to the command tent by radioing one of the drivers of the apcs. Once the APC arrived, Rickinson opened the back of the APC and started loading the crates and boxes into the back of the vehicle. Rickinson looks around and sees the entire base is a flurry of activity with men rushing to and fro to make sure things are packed and ready to go to the new base. Crates, boxes, and duffel bags were being stuffed with weapons and personal effects of the men. Tents and beds were packed into duffel bags before being loaded onto the apcs along with the weapon crates and once once the apcs were filled to the brim they closed the back hatch and upon rickinson's orders three soldiers on each side of the apcs to help unload at the new base. Once the four APCs left with 6 men, Rickinson ordered the men to start stacking stuff up in the courtyard ready to be loaded up on the APCs. After a few hours the APCs returned and parked in the courtyard and were quickly loaded up with everything loaded up and after one hour the APCs left and came back. This process went on for 7 hours before everything was sent to the base. Rickinson then ordered the men to be ready to march to the base. The men got into two columns, one on each side of the road with the commanders at the front. Rickinson gave the orders to march and the men promptly followed him as he led them to the new base. During the march they walked right past a deathclaw who understandably was angry but to the surprise of the deathclaw they simply walked right past it as if it wasn't even there. As if feeling indignant the deathclaw walked right next to them and started to poke them as if to get a reaction. After a few hours of marching 3 deathclaws joined them as they marched to the base. After a few hours of marching the men arrived at the base and helped unpack everything. The airport was turned into a base after a few days of work. The terminals were turned into barracks for the men and women of the units. The main entrance was turned into a checkpoint and was fortified with temporary defenses like wood and sandbags. After a few days the Base was heavily defended and fortified with some temporary sandbags and other things they found. Bella turned the airport control tower into the communication center. Rickinson orders her to get in contact with high command to give them a status report. After a few days they managed to get into contact with command and much to the surprise of rickinson he was given command of all of the units in the east coast area. Rickinson then requested concrete and reinforcements, artillery, and a construction and engineer group to be sent to the base to build a comms tower to maintain contact with everyone and command which was approved by high command.
“Understood sir and the things I requested will be sent in 2 days ?” Rickinson asked over the radio connection to High command.
“Yes commander Rickinson you will receive the reinforcements and supplies as requested as they will be sent via vertibird.” said the High command comms officer in a very straightforward way. “And the high command has decided to send a few Chinooks to help out with the amount of supplies and equipment to the base.”
“ Wow seriously ? aren't those our rare aircraft ?” Rickinson said in a very surprised tone. It just tells him how serious high command is about making the base the central command in the Atlantic coast. “I will keep that in mind and will be on the lookout for the air convoy”
“Also be advised increased enclave activity has been spotted in the area along with increased activity in the area in general. High command wants you to investigate and if necessary destroy the enclave in the area.” said the high command officer warning the commander.
“Understood, we will make sure to investigate the situation and the increased activity while increasing our patrols into the area Over and out.” Responded Rickinson with a hint of anger and annoyance. Once the radio is shut off Rickinson orders increased patrols and additional units to patrol into the boston area and the area around the base. He also started to scavengers into the boston area to look for any resources to use for the building of the base and the fixing of the runway since the Veinmare is also sending a small force of fighter bombers to the base as well due to the increase in enclave activities.
