Chapter Text
Minho had been a happy child. Seeing him babbling on whenever he felt happy or giggling shyly at being complimented, brought great joy to his parents. He had managed to enamor the whole village with his toothy smiles and twinkling eyes. As he grew, he was always ready to help out, reliable, and courteous. His knowledge of the forests helped them hunt for food, stock up during winters, and easily find the herbs required to cook meals and create medicinal balms. His looks also matured with time, with a straight nose and sharp cat-like eyes, able to intimidate anyone into giving him their full attention. It was why everyone thought he would be an alpha, one who might lead all of them one day.
When he turned 17, the whole village celebrated it eagerly, for it was finally the time he would present. He spent the day eating fine meals, singing and dancing, and getting showered with gifts. For the next week or so, he constantly had people around him, all waiting for him to start showing even a sliver of a sign that he was presenting. Soon the weeks turned into months, and the initial frenzy was turned down a notch, the villagers finally calming down enough to leave him alone most of the day, to present at his pace. When it finally happened, however, nobody was prepared for the devastating outcome.
The sky was dark, and the forest was silent. It was ominous that the wind sat still when normally it lightly blew around the village, bringing life to the air. Maybe they should have taken it as a warning that something bad was about to happen. Perhaps everything could have been avoided then.
Minho woke up to screams and cries. He was resting in his parent’s cabin, as he had been feeling feverish and sick the entire day. He got up to see what was happening, only to feel a sharp pain in his stomach. He couldn’t be sick now. What if something bad was happening outside? He mustered the strength to stand up and go over to the window, only to reel back instantly. Just a few meters away, an alpha viciously ripped out the throat of a young omega and several others circled a group of cowering villagers, huddled together on the ground. At the front were his omega and alpha parents, his mom and dad, hugging and comforting the other villagers and themselves.
“Anyone else who wants to disobey?”, the alpha who just killed the omega roared out. “We will first bring out all of you here, then you will listen to everything I say. You just saw what happened to this cunt. You don’t want the happening to you now, do you”? He stalked over to his cronies, making sure that everyone had been brought out. When satisfied, he walked to the front of the group, stood up on a rock, and started to speak. “Now I want you all to listen closely to what I say. I am Jung Ilhoon, and I am currently looking for a mate, an omega”. With his words, a few gasps echoed around the clearing, everyone fearing for their omega partners and friends. “I am going around every village and looking for a possible mate. I came here to find someone, and all you bastards better hope I do, because it won’t end well if no one steps up. So, who volunteers?”
With his words, the rest of the alphas forcefully picked out the pups and the female omegas, dragging them over to the head alpha. One by one, he went down the row, sniffing at the necks of them all. When he finally reached the end, he let out a smirk.
“Looks like none of you are going to be it. That means goodbye for you all.” He then grabs the omega standing right in front of him and snaps her neck like a twig.
Minho, who had been watching it all in horror, immediately felt agony radiating throughout his body. The alpha had just killed his omega mother. The pain intensified and suddenly his stomach cramps returned, and his hopes of going unnoticed vanished, for he had just let out a noise. He locked eyes with the head alpha and felt fear strike him right to his core. He let out a smirk and ran over to the house Minho was at, and in only a few seconds he had brought him out onto the clearing.
“Oh, looks like I found someone. You hid very well, didn’t you? How unfortunate that you also have to die now”. The alpha snarled, bringing his teeth to his neck, aiming for his jugular. Suddenly, the alpha paused and gave a curious sniff, before retracting his head and smirking wide.
“Well, well, looks like all of you got lucky. Someone finally volunteered! And just when I thought we were going to have some fun. I guess I have to take this little omega for myself now, no? You are what I have been searching for, and I have to say, you are delectable.”
All the villagers, who were sitting hopelessly, waiting for their deaths after witnessing many of their friends and family die, whipped their heads up. They were met with a sight that wracked them with horror. Their beloved Minho was in the grasp of Ilhoon, and the scent wafting off of him was distinctly that of vanilla with notes of honey, the scent of an omega. They all watched, stunned, as the head alpha held Minho by the jaw and turned him to face all the familiar faces. His eyes roamed over several of them before they latched onto the heartbroken and sad eyes of his father. They were able to look at each other for a split second before Ilhoon broke the silence.
“Since I’ve found who I wanted, All of you are now spared. I’ll be taking him along with me to claim him as mine. I guess this is the last time you’ll ever see his pretty face. So, you better look closely now”.
Before Minho could react, the alpha’s lips collided with his in a harsh kiss, bruising his mouth, while his hands roamed around his body, making his stomach revolt. He soon broke the kiss before turning to the villagers and the smiling faces of his other packmates.
“Say goodbye little omega”, he said, before hitting Minho on the back of his head, knocking him out, and leaving the villagers behind to suffer with the knowledge that their beloved Minho was doomed to live a life at the command of a horrid alpha.
