Sunoo unceremoniously hurled into the toilet for the third time that morning, emptying his stomach of all its contents. The horrifying sounds of his retching made Sunoo feel even more nauseous, and his body hung tiredly on the rim of the toilet. Looking out of the bathroom, the omega’s eyes landed on the clock on his bedroom nightstand which read 8:30 in the morning. He had a class at 8:45, and Sunoo cringed as he knew there was no way in hell he was gonna make it or feel well enough in time to go.
Once his nausea spell somewhat relented, Sunoo flushed the toilet and went over to the sink to rinse his mouth. As he did so, Sunoo tried to recount if there was anything he ate or drank out of the ordinary yesterday. He normally ate fruits once a day, so that wasn’t it. He normally ate a pack of instant ramen at least four times a week, so that wasn’t it. He normally drank a glass of milk every morning, so that couldn’t be it either.
Letting out a small sigh, Sunoo exited the bathroom and went over to his bed where his phone was thrown haphazardly when he had zoomed by to hurriedly puke his guts out.
Sunoo: Jungwon-ahhhhhhh T.T
Jungwon: Yoi???
Sunoo: Hyung needs helpppppp…
Jungwon: Help with what hyung?
Sunoo: I threw up and can’t make it to class…
Jungwon: EH?! Let me get you some medicine and food
Sunoo: Noooooo, just take diligent notes in class for me today please??? I’ll be fine after resting for a day, so don’t come …
Sunoo: YAH ANSWER YOUR HYUNG PROPERLY!!!
The moment Sunoo sent that last text message, his phone abruptly began to ring as the screen showed Jungwon wanted to video call instead. Sighing internally, Sunoo mentally braced himself before accepting the call reluctantly.
“YAH HOW COULD YOU TELL YOUR BEST FRIEND NOT TO COME AND HELP YOU HUH?!” Jungwon’s voice bellowed through Sunoo’s phone mightily, practically making it vibrate in his loose grip.
Glaring at the red haired male through the screen, Sunoo ran a hand through his messy hair, “And how could you yell at your sick hyung and not listen to his easy request hm?”
A large pout settled onto Jungwon’s pink lips as he spoke again, this time lowering his voice back down to normal, “I’m sorry Sunoo hyung…I just, you know I hate hearing you’re sick since it could escalate into something worse.”
That was unfortunately true. Since Sunoo was a baby, he had been naturally born with a weaker constitution than most, and to top it all off, he had presented as an omega in high school. While it was discriminatory and prejudiced to automatically stereotype omegas as physically weaker in today’s society, if people thought about it in a logical and factual sense, it was the harsh truth for most omegas. This included Sunoo.
Out of his entire 19 years of existence, Sunoo had gotten severely ill to the point of hospitalization a total of 3 times. The first happened when he was an infant. The second happened when he was in elementary. Then the third happened when he was in middle school. Somehow, based on the trend, it was a miracle Sunoo hadn’t fallen incredibly sick during high school. His immune system was at its best then, and he took full advantage of that.
Now though as Sunoo felt an oncoming headache and the nausea heightened slightly, the omega wished it had happened then rather than in college, “Apology accepted Wonie…thank you for worrying about me. After class maybe stop by and give me some medicine if you want, okay?”
“Okay I will, bye hyung, rest up well! I’ll text you when I’m heading over,” Jungwon informed before ending the video call.
Placing his phone back down on the bed, Sunoo crawled into the cold sheets and swaddled himself before closing his eyes. Hopefully, some more sleep would help him feel better.
BZZT BZZT BZZT
Sunoo blearily opened his sleep-addled eyelids as his ears finally connected to his brain to tell it that the doorbell to his apartment was being rung. Groaning in mild pain, the black haired male rolled out of bed and trudged over to the front door as Jungwon’s voice called out to him.
“It’s me, Sunoo hyung!”
Finally making it to the door, Sunoo reached a hand out to unlock it before pulling it towards him to reveal the red haired omega. A small smile graced Jungwon’s lips as he held up a plastic bag full of instant packs of porridge and medicine.
“What would I do without you, Jungwon-ah,” Sunoo whined gratefully as he went in for a hug by muscle memory.
Jungwon’s smile immediately flew off his face as he grimaced and pushed the older away with a gentle poke of a finger to the forehead, “Yes yes yes, what would you ever do without me, hyung. Also no hugs! You’re sick, remember?”
Sunoo couldn’t help the massive pout that settled on his slightly swollen face as he complained about how terrible Jungwon was for not even allowing one hug. Jungwon had merely ignored his best friend as he entered and walked straight to the kitchen to start warming up the porridge.
“Yah, just sit down and wait for your porridge, hyung,” Jungwon scolded despite being younger by almost a whole year, “You have to eat so you can take your medicine.”
“I feel a little better though so I don’t think I need—“
Sunoo zipped his mouth shut when he saw the serious expression on Jungwon’s face, not even bothering to finish his sentence.
“—That’s what I thought.”
“Yeah haha…,” Sunoo laughed awkwardly, tone still showcasing some sulkiness, “I’m gonna use the restroom really quick Wonie, I’ll be back.”
“Mm, holler if you need anything.”
Without saying anything further, Sunoo shuffled off to the bathroom again, closing the door with a soft click. Before he went to sit on the toilet seat, Sunoo’s body suddenly stalled in place. His mind had decided at that moment to think of a crazy and preposterous idea.
To take a pregnancy test.
Why?
Because he was sexually active.
Sexually active with who?
None other than his very close friend but also friends with benefits friend, Sunghoon Park. The former professional ice skater “hottie” of campus that everyone absolutely drooled over Sunghoon Park.
As if his body had a mind of its own, Sunoo’s arm reached out to the bottom drawer underneath his sink before pulling it out to reveal a few pregnancy tests. Being a sexually active omega since high school, Sunoo had taken it upon himself to stock up a small amount of pregnancy tests just in case symptoms like today popped up. A small sense of dread filled Sunoo’s stomach uncomfortably as he recalled his heat happening a little over a month ago in which Sunghoon had helped him the whole week.
Trying to reassure himself that they had remembered to use a condom at all times and how he had been taking his birth control diligently, Sunoo sat down and peed on the pregnancy stick test. His heart felt like it was beating a mile a second from the nervousness that was beginning to build up inside of him. What if he actually was pregnant?
A few minutes later after washing up, Sunoo took in a few deep breaths to calm down. He was about to look at the results on the pregnancy test, and there were so many emotions swirling through his mind at once. It was a mix of both positive and negative, and it made Sunoo all the more antsy to know. Taking in one last deep breath, Sunoo opened his eyes that had been screwed shut to see a clear as day second line on the pregnancy test.
Gasping loudly, Sunoo slapped both of his hands over his gaping mouth. Immediately he could hear Jungwon’s rapid footsteps coming his way as the bathroom door swung open without even a simple knock due to worry.
“WHAT HAPPENED?!?!”
When Jungwon turned to look at Sunoo’s reflection in the mirror the older was standing in front of, that was when the fellow omega saw what Sunoo was looking at. His stomach dropped to the ground at the realization, and his eyes flickered back up to see Sunoo’s eyes tearing up. Heart swelling with pain, Jungwon grabbed him and hugged him tightly, knowing what the result was without even looking.
“I’m here for you hyung, no matter what. So don’t you dare fucking get any stupid ideas,” Jungwon whispered sternly yet full of raw love and support.
Letting out his first sob, Sunoo’s body began to tremble and shake as he broke down into a fit of tears and overwhelming emotions. Confusion, fear, and anxiety plagued his mind, and he began to feel numb from the utter shock he had just experienced.
Jungwon hushed him gently the whole time, and he comforted Sunoo until he quieted down to mere sniffles.
“Let’s head over to the bed hm?” Jungwon coaxed softly as he guided Sunoo over to sit.
Sunoo weakly walked to his bed with the younger’s help, and when they both sat down, Jungwon spoke again.
“Do you…want to talk about it, Sunoo hyung?”
Silence overtook the room for several seconds before a small nod came from Sunoo, “Y-yeah…I—I’m just really shocked, Jungwon-ah…”
Humming in acknowledgment, Jungwon grabbed the blanket and wrapped the omega with it to ensure that he was staying nice and warm since it was the month of April and spring showers now. Waiting patiently, Jungwon cuddled with Sunoo affectionately, trying to pour as much of his soul into making the older feel better through his embrace.
“…I know you know…that it’s Sunghoon’s baby,” Sunoo started slowly.
Nodding, Jungwon huddled even closer, “I know, yes.”
Willing down the new tears that threatened to spill over, Sunoo continued, “One half of me wants to cry and hit myself for getting pregnant so young and unmarried. You know how I always dreamed of finding the perfect someone to settle down with to marry and have kids… However, the omega half of me feels like rejoicing over being pregnant with Sunghoon’s pup since he’s a strong and reliable alpha. He’s the epitome of what I want in my future lover.”
Jungwon stayed quiet as he keenly listened to everything Sunoo wanted to say.
“I don’t know if I like Sunghoon that way. Sure we have sex with each other to satisfy our desires, but I…I’ve never thought of him in that light you know? I mean, maybe I have felt a little flutter here and there when he does something for me, but I just know for sure if I have feelings for him, it’s not enough for me to instantly and confidently say I like him romantically… So I’m just really scared about what the future now holds for both me and Sunghoon.”
After that, Sunoo quieted, now waiting for Jungwon to say something as he stared blankly at the wall. The red haired omega pondered over what Sunoo had just said, taking in all that information carefully before saying his thoughts.
“Well my advice, although take it with a grain of salt,” Jungwon began, “Be open minded, don’t get tunnel vision with your path in life, hyung. I hope you won’t think your life is over just because you got pregnant. Sunghoonie hyung is an amazing friend, and I know as friends with benefits he treats you incredibly well since you never complain about anything he does. I can’t tell you what to do since that’s ultimately up to you, hyung…”
Getting up from his seat, Jungwon kneeled in front of Sunoo to look him right in the eyes. He wanted to convey through his gaze how confident he was that the older would get through this no matter what choice he made.
“What I can tell you is to just be confident with whatever you decide to do. Sunghoonie hyung is a very capable man who I know wouldn’t shove his opinions down your throat about whether to keep the baby or not. So try not to be scared or nervous in that aspect too much. One thing I would like you to do though is don’t hide your pregnancy from Sunghoon hyung. While it might seem tempting to hide it, please don’t. Sunghoon hyung is the father of your child as well, so he deserves to know you’re pregnant.”
Tearing up even more, Sunoo nodded silently as he lunged forward to wrap Jungwon in a tight hug once again. He sobbed into the younger man’s neck, grip like death itself as he let his emotions flow out.
After crying for several more minutes, Sunoo whispered into Jungwon’s ear with a trembling voice, “I’m so scared, Wonie.”
The said male began to tear up as well as he nuzzled into Sunoo’s neck, “I know… I know, hyung. But I’m here for you, no matter what.”

Sunoo’s phone rang out softly on his nightstand.
Jungwon had left a few hours ago per Sunoo’s request. While he greatly appreciated the younger’s help and support, he wanted to be left alone for a while. Just to collect more of his thoughts and feelings. Turning onto his side while in bed, Sunoo grabbed his phone and looked to see who had texted him.
“Oh no,” Sunoo panicked as he shot out of bed like a rocket while simultaneously and unconsciously shoving the pregnancy test in his nightstand drawer, “Fuck why is he coming over suddenly?!”
Sunghoon: I’m heading over right now Sunoo-yah
Scrambling to clean up his apartment that looked like a tornado had run through it, Sunoo hurriedly tried to shove things in his closet or throw dirty dishes in the sink. Sunghoon lived about 10 minutes away from Sunoo, so that gave the omega a little less time than that to clean. Usually his apartment was quite sparkly and squeaky clean, but today had made the omega’s apartment look raggedy.
Just as Sunoo shoved some dirty clothes underneath his bed, the door to his apartment beeped which signified that someone had punched in the correct password. That someone being Sunghoon since Sunoo had given him his apartment’s code. Jungwon also knew the password but he stuck to still ringing the doorbell compared to the alpha. If that wasn’t pretty telling already on how much Sunoo trusted the older.
“Sunoo?” Sunghoon called out for the omega with his smooth voice that sent little shivers down Sunoo’s spine.
“H-hold on!”
Sunoo rushed into the bathroom to check his appearance, attempting to fluff his lowkey horridly greasy hair and make sure his tear stains were completely washed off. Running his hands over his crinkled and wrinkled pajamas, Sunoo exited the bathroom and was met with Sunghoon already standing at his bedroom door.
“Oh? Why’re you in your pjs already?” Sunghoon greeted with a question, lips curved into a charming smile as he walked over to Sunoo.
Not being able to help himself, Sunoo let the older male wrap his arms around his waist before said man dipped down for a chaste kiss on the lips that sent the omega’s heart into overdrive. The action made Sunoo absolutely melt in Sunghoon’s secure hold. He just couldn’t deny the magnetic pull they had, as well as the undeniable compatibility they had with each other.
Both men had known one another since the beginning of high school, having the same class and seats right next to each other in the back of the room. Sunghoon had immediately taken a liking to teasing Sunoo at any given moment, while Sunoo had taken to squawking indignantly every time. All of their friends, including Sunghoon, agreed that the black haired omega was the cutest and most adorable when he was mad.
That same year, Sunghoon had presented as a dominant alpha. People suddenly began to sing praises about how smart and powerful he was, and Sunghoon’s already noticeable popularity had skyrocketed to new heights. It had saddened Sunoo a bit since although he never voiced it out, he truly did enjoy the older’s comforting presence. He noticed how all the omegas, betas, and alphas alike were naturally drawn to Sunghoon’s incredible aura.
Constantly there had been people practically throwing themselves onto the said male, and it made Sunoo highly uncomfortable seeing strangers touch his close friend all over like that. Sunghoon had rejected everyone’s advances to try and get in bed with him, and it had baffled Sunoo immensely. For heaven’s sake there had even been a female idol who went to their school that had tried to underhandedly seduce Sunghoon to go with her to a hotel while she was in preheat.
That incident had happened while Sunghoon and Sunoo were walking home together, and the stupid bitch had even had the audacity to hiss at Sunoo. The tall alpha had not taken to that well, and he had full on growled at the girl while moving to hug Sunoo protectively.
“Don’t you dare fucking hiss at my friend like that,” Sunghoon had warned furiously before briskly guiding him and Sunoo away.
This event spread through their high school like wildfire the next day, and so many people were giving the pair of friends questioning gazes. It was only when Jungwon had confronted the two about if they were dating was when it dawned on Sunoo and Sunghoon what was going on. Of course they had denied it since it wasn’t true, and that was that.
Until Sunoo had finally presented as a dominant omega towards the end of their first year of high school.
The moment Sunoo had caught a whiff of Sunghoon’s alpha scent after presenting, it had automatically sent the younger into heat while in class. All the alphas in the room had sprung up at the mouthwatering pheromones coming from Sunoo, and even Sunghoon had reeled back in shock with eyes and pupils blown wide in arousal. One alpha classmate had lunged towards Sunoo, but Sunghoon had shoved him to the ground violently.
That was the first time Sunoo had ever been extremely frightened of someone, and he had whimpered into Sunghoon’s neck pathetically as the older held him protectively, growling away anyone that tried to approach. It took five teachers to convince Sunghoon that Sunoo was no longer in imminent danger, and after this incident too, rumors began to spread around campus that the two friends meant more to each other than they let on.
“Would you like to be my sex partner, Sunoo-yah?” Sunghoon had asked the younger as their summer break approached.
As it was quite common for presented teenagers to hook up with one or more people to sate their sexual desires, both Sunghoon and Sunoo had found it relatively natural for their friendship to take that turn. They had already begun to naturally scent each other any chance they got whether it be in the school hallway or as a greeting in the morning. So it didn’t feel weird to become sex partners.
Simply friends that helped each other out in an extra way.
When summer break finally arrived, that was the moment Sunoo and Sunghoon became sexually active for the first time ever in their lives. They both had become each other’s firsts, and the two men quickly realized just how compatible they were physically. Since that was the case, neither of them felt the need to hook up with anyone else but each other.
Back to the present, Sunoo moaned softly into Sunghoon’s mouth as they continued to kiss. Stumbling back a little, the alpha began to lower Sunoo down onto the bed. Knowing where this was going, the younger man put both of his hands up to Sunghoon’s chest, pushing him away with a gentle firmness. This effectively made Sunghoon back up with slight confusion written on his face.
“S-sorry, I can’t do it today,” Sunoo muttered under his breath, not looking Sunghoon in the eyes properly.
Frowning a little, Sunghoon sat down next to Sunoo on the bed just like Jungwon had several hours earlier in the day, “Hm? Is there something wrong, sunshine? You don’t look too good.”
Flinching at how observant Sunghoon was, Sunoo’s scent spiked with anxiety, and his usual scent soured. Sitting up straighter after smelling Sunoo’s distress, Sunghoon moved to kneel in front of the younger, his hands going to hold the omega’s own smaller ones.
“No rush, Sunoo-yah, take your time,” Sunghoon whispered, no teasing tone in his voice as he knew Sunoo was seriously troubled by something, “Or don’t tell me if you’re not comfortable, that’s also fine.”
Hearing those words come out of the older male, it made Sunoo feel guilty immediately. He had seriously been considering never telling Sunghoon that he’d fallen pregnant with his child this whole time despite that being Jungwon’s only request not to do so. It was so blatantly clear that Sunghoon would listen to and respect anything he said, and Sunoo realized that he just couldn’t go through with not telling the alpha.
“Hoonie…,” Sunoo began, voice shaking as he took in a deep breath in and out, “I-I’m pregnant.”
Sunghoon sat there stunned, his eyes going wide with utter shock as his grip on Sunoo’s hands loosened, “Wait—what?”
“I’m pregnant, and the child is yours.”
