Chapter 1: Chapter ??? - The library in the void, and the strange living black hole

Chapter Text

In an unknown place and at an unknown time, you wake up. You're in a void of sorts, it seems. In front of you is a large library, and the doors are open, welcoming you in. You step inside and see... A man, or what looks like a man. He's wearing a purple suit, pants, and tie, but his head is a literal black hole, purpleish in color. His hands or what you think are hands are just balls of... You guess dark matter or void floating near where his hands are supposed to be.

"Hm? Ah, hello there," the 'man' spoke as he looked up at you. He had two stars for eyes, and he seemed to be crying. Yes, indeed, his head was a literal black hole. He stood up, standing about 6'2" or 6'7" from your perspective.

"Hello there, human. You seem to be lost, and you've stumbled upon my library. Ah, where are my manners? I am Nihility Tea, but you may call me Nilly if you like."

Is he... British? He had a British accent but spoke in an American way. He held out his 'hand' for you to shake. And you do, hesitantly. He's more of a living black hole, than an actual person.

"Now, now, I know what you're going to ask: Where am I? Who are you? What are you? Just relax, my friend, and have a cup of tea." He hands you a cup of tea, but it's the color purple. "Ah, don't mind the color," he says, leaning in and whispering, "It's not poison. It's my favorite type of tea, so please, kindly try it."

He then straightens up and goes to a separate room. After only a few seconds, he returns. "It should be ready now. Come, come, we have much to discuss, stranger." He gestures for you to enter the room, and you do, still confused, but feeling as though you have no choice.

You enter the room, and it feels like a vast observatory. Curved bookshelves line the walls, and in the center, a table is set with tea. Above, a large telescope points towards the stars, with moonlight streaming through the glass dome overhead.

"Sit, sit, my friend," he says. "Would you like to hear a story?" You hesitate. "Don't worry," the he reassures you. "Once I'm done, you'll have your answers. Now then... Let me see... Ah yes, this one. He reaches for a book from one of the highest shelves, carefully brings it down, and dusts it off. "Shall we begin?" Nihility Tea asks politely.

"Why not we start with this? A story set in the cold and frost, a never ending winter, and well... If that happens, one should be heartless, no? Sorry that sounded dumb, haha, I don't know what to say when rhyming with Heartless– you know what? Let's just start the story. Shall we?" Nihility Tea, says, as he holds up a book titled, The Heartfelt Heartless.
